Not sure why it's just popped up in my feed this morning but 2 says ago there was an article about a issue with stadium. Historic England aren't happy by the account of the article. Hopefully this is some sketchy home blogger or as we know 21st century journalist, states they will not give permission for use of the site even with the recent amendments. Seems the big issue is one that no redesign will ever fix, they don't want anything to fill in the dock. Surely this is rubbish but if true, that's the end of that site.

Historic England have objected to the stadium as it feels it ruins a world heritage site and the filling in of the dock will cause irreparable damage.
What they fail to see is the irreparable damage to the economy the C.V. has caused and all the good for the city and those working there this development will actually create.
Put aside the issue of being a fan.
This development will create 1000s of jobs and benefit the economy greatly it will also develop an area of the city that is crying out for development.
It also will probably attract more visitors once stadium is complete than it does now.

I think they need to look at the bigger picture

Hopefully the Secretary of State who historic England are pushing to make final decision will see the benefit this development will actually bring to the city of Liverpool and the wider community.

Historic England were always going to object its what they do and they have been threatening since 2005 to remove out heritage status. local businesses has asked for us to give them it back it has no great benefit to tourism but if they get their way it will be delayed by 12 months as it will be called in luckily we have local historian groups on our side and the government were very impressed when we took the plans to London we will just have to wait and see bud.

The historic england group obviously don't live around bramley moor dock, i work up and down the dock road and we have stations right where the ground is going to be, its a total dump at the min barren waste land and an absolute eyesore surely they can't be serious thinking that is better than a nice new stadium is a worse option! that's without the vital economy boost liverpool as a city needs with all the hardship the C. V has caused.

{Ed001's Note - they just fight to keep everything as it was, with no understanding of the particular needs of any single place. The stadium will be great for the city, I am sure they won't be able to stop it.}

If anyone ever saw the Albert docks and surrounding area in the eighties can see what a brilliant job has been done around the arena, the Albert Dock, the echo arena, the radison high tower hotel, countless other buildings built with the area now thriving.

Bramley Moore is run down and an eyesore, regenerating that area will give the area an uplift, will create jobs, not just from the stadium, but other businesses that can build there.

If the world heritage would prefer it to remain rundown and an eyesore, I would tell the heritage to stick their status where the sun does not shine, the City needs a rebuild around there, more than they need a heritage tag.

Most of all, they need the economy and jobs after the Panademic.

Haha can't put a stadium at Bramley Moore dock. Yet it's fine to have what's next to it on Sandon dock. These people probably just work in an office somewhere and have no idea what is really going on in the area.

Liverpool fan here. I think your stadium would benefit the city greatly. The renovation of the area around the Baltic triangle has impressed me so much how it has went from nothing to such a vibrant, unique foodie place.

I worked for a company a while back who are involved with the planning for the stadium. A manager was telling me he was really impressed with the plans and that the stadium is not just being thought of as a football stadium, but a entertainment venue. Lots of little things are being put in place that will make it easy for the stadium to hold music concerts, boxing etc.
