If Theo can't get in the team to play Fleetwood, he must be off no?

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so JB..

Need to save room in the taxi for Pickford. Really awful tonight.

Yep, can't make excuses for him tonight. If Mina or another 6ft plus CB was playing instead of Digne, the ball shouldn't come over for the overhead but the back pass was a mess to try to get on your left foot. Surely a swing with his right would have done? Poor.
Also reading we in for Lingard. I hope not, especially if the guy is on 100k a week. I'd rather keep Bernard as squad player. Also hearing more about Rudiger tonight too.

Anyway, unbeaten and lots of goals. Iwobi looked great in the 1st half too. Unfortunately we won't be playing Liverpool rejects all season.

Really liked Barton on best behaviour with Big Duncan at the final whistle. I'd have liked to have seen that one back in the day :/.

Yeah I don’t believe anyone when they are linked with Lingard

Big wages for a player who averages a goal or assist every 50 games or something

He’s a mid table championship player at best only still at Utd because he’s a local lad and he’s full of “banter”.

Pickford needs dropping and made to fight for his place, the other 10 players got him out of trouble tonight that won’t always happen in prem. yes back pass was short but kick it with your right, clear the danger.

Pickford came with a lot of promise, but for me has not lived up to the expectations. We may well be improving and get more points, but it worries me how many points he will cost us.

Seems similar to the kepa situation at Chelsea. basically his heads gone. I see what other posters say and want to get behind him but since the incident in the newcastle bar he's got on my nerves, comes across as gobby and arrogant but cannot back it up. we have made massive improvements but he continues to be nothing more than a liability. I don't want us to think what could have been come the end of the season but no matter how well the outfield players play he's always going to haunt us with his displays. It's time to get a decent keeper in and drop pickford to number 2 or sell him. Regards bernard I rate him, he could be the fairy dust in a good side and I wouldn't sell him.

We can say that about one of our players Swan, word for word, although he never reached the heights of Lingard. I wonder who I mean? Hmmm. Looks like a championship side could score a new central midfield :/.

Wouldn't rush for another CB just yet, would make keeper a priority and a striker/ attacker depending if any leave. Pickford seems to get worse though and maybe it's time to give Joao a run as can't be much worse. Pickford turning into Joe Hart! I think we're covered in def and have Coleman who's played at CB too. With Allan and Capoue, the back is protected more than ever.

Some of the older posters will remember the Everton team that came close to winning the league around the 74-75 season, then the one under Gordon Lee around 77.

Both very good sides but had Dia Davies and Dave Lawson in goal, average goalkeepers in two very good sides.

Came close to signing Peter Shilton, but ended up going for Lawson instead.

Now we have another very good team, but again with an average at best Goalkeeper in Pickford.

We need to learn from past mistakes and bring a goalkeeper in as a must.

A mistake now and again you can expect, but they are happening more and more with Pickford.

BigNev, Davy and Dai yes I recall quite well and they were never going to be what was to be the 'Southall standard' we needed at that time.
The keeper role is a crucial one in successful teams, and right now it has become ''crucial'' to do something about this keeper mate!

ToffeeApple think you are giving Barton a lot more than he's got. Barton and Big Dunc wouldn't have happened, Big Dunc would have reached down Bartons not inconsiderable big gob and pulled his sack out with all attached appendages.

How did I give Barton anything? I simply said he was on best bahaviour. But thanks for the lesson about Big D.
