With the links today of Allan and Doucouré I know they will decent decent players for now but not for the long term no sell on fee and most likely high wages too. Haven’t we learnt from our previous bad transfer windows and bought players just for that specific manager. I am now worried we are going to be buying for Carlo Ancelotti and not Everton which was my biggest fear when he arrived. We need to be astute and build for the next five years and not just carlo’s time here.

We'd get Docoure for 30 million over 4 years. That's 7.5million a year for a footballer whi would improve us massively.
Why are people so obsessed with sell on value? Is that what we want to do, bring players in, improve them and then let them go to bigger clubs?

That’s the only way we can build within the ffp as we well and truly f@@@ed it up since moshiri took over. I don’t think everyone is obsessed with buying players with sell on value it’s the only option at this moment in time for our club because if we buy players on the down turn of their abilities you will always be making a loss. We cannot just buy players for cap Ancelotti the manager as much as a fantastic manager he is we are not here to keep up his good cv we are trying to build a club to can challenge in the league for years to and be a sustainable club. I don’t know a lot about finances in football but looking at it logically that’s my opinion we need players with sell on value not players who come to get their last big pay day.

We need players who will get us into europe not ones who may or may not have a sell on value. We will get more money selling a player who has been a bit part of a successful team not necessarily one who is young and may do well in an unsuccessful team.

Here’s another view.
We need these established players short term to turn us into a club that is attractive to better players. So it might be short term, but in the long term it could pay off.
Also just getting young players with potential could mean we will have to get use to finishing outside Europe, and selling our best players each year just to survive.
We have one of the best managers in the game, so if he wants to sign two or three 29 year olds then that’s fine with me. He’s been there done and has the trophies to prove it.

Unfortunately those that think certain players would improve us massively are just guessing. Any transfer is a risk be he young Gbamin or old Bolasie. My preference would be for a mixture of ages but not paying stupid money for anyone. Young players may make us a profit but its still not a guarantee. I like to think the club has an idea of what the long term strategy is and how to get there. I'll leave it up to the powers that be and support the team that turns out on a match day even if they don't turn up to play decent football. What else can we do?
