Just give it to ferguson and let's crack on with building this club again!

Championship by March.

Why would we be in the championship by March Swan? Is Ferguson's coaching and management style that bad that the team would fall apart and not win any matches?

Its mad to see the "ferguson experts" commenting about how bad he is. I would love to see him prove you wrong. Out of all the names mentioned he is right up there with them. No "winner" wants the job and all the rest have won the same amount as ferguson in the last 5 yrs. Yet ferguson is the one to take us down? Absolute madness. Some of the names have been "relived of their duties" at least once and some 2/ 3 times. I say if we're so keen on keeping ferguson as a coach/ assistant for the last 6yrs, then give him the job. He knows the club and the players and he knows what the team and the fans want. Yet again though the "fanbase" want to argue and squabble over big names yet again.

Pauly, it's also mad that the 'ferguson experts' commenting on how good he is. Some fans are pushing him forward because of who he is and on the strength of a couple of games as caretaker manager. Is that really enough even with little experience? If he wants to become a manager then he should cut his teeth somewhere else, see how he does and then think about employing him further down the line. Pretty much what Gerrard has done at Rangers, get some experience under his belt.

So rangers are a small club and with very little to ask of a manager? Gerrard went there because they offered him the role and he believed he could do it. Same with ferguson. In fact ferguson has more experience than Gerrard. Its a no brained for me.

Nobody mentioned Rangers being a small club so not sure what you're getting at there? It was a comparison of one man with aspirations of being a manager actually having to go and cut his teeth elsewhere. Not too hard to follow.
Gerrard was managing in the youth set-up of Liverpool before taking the Rangers job so he has managed at some level. I don't think Dunc has been manager of any team, bar the caretaker role for a few games. How does that make him more experienced? It's also a no brainer for me, Dunc isn't ready for taking over Everton. With further experience, he should be in contention the next time the job is available but not right now.

I was trying to show you that rangers are a massive club. A massive history and great expectation put on any manager. Ferguson has had more yrs as a coach than Gerrard. Gerrard still believed he could do a job. You say ferguson hasn't managed except a caretaker role? Yes that's true and its more than Gerrard had done before he went to rangers. Are you saying the everton job is bigger than the rangers job? 🤣🤣 European football every year and expectations to beat celtic to the league EVERY YEAR. Yet somehow the Everton job is way too big for ferguson. Haha some people make me giggle. Also if Gerrard flopped at rangers he would no longer be seen as a choice at lpool.

Pauly, you make a lot of assumptions. At no point did I even mention rangers, you did. At no point did I say Rangers were a small club, you said that. At no point did I compare the size of the two clubs.
What I did say is that Gerrard had aspirations to become a manager and he left Liverpool to gain managerial experience. That is where the comparison started and ended for me. If Dunc has aspirations to become a manager, he should go and find that experience elsewhere. That was the point before you twisted it to suit your own narrative.
I agree that Dunc has had more experience as a coach but even that is different from managing the junior teams. Neither job will show how good they can be in a real managing job, that can only be measured once they have a job. In my opinion, we should not take a chance on him until he has a season or two under his belt in that role.

Pauly, actually I did mention rangers but only in passing. In the context of Gerrard going to another club to get experience.

So where should ferguson go to cut his teeth? Championship? Lower? There are world class managers that wouldn't cut it in the championship or lower with a ltd budget and all the restraints that come with that size club. So if ferguson failed there he's rubbish? Absolute tosh of a point to make. he's been at the club for so long and he has knowledge. He is also highly rated so my point is to play it safe and give him a go. He can work with brands and he won't cause major upheaval and if he has to go he wouldn't have a massive entourage following him and his style of management wouldn't move too far from the basics of the club. We are chopping and changing in massive amounts. Complete clearouts and then start again. You wouldn't get that with ferguson. Its a no brainer for me. Just ny opinion kidda.

Call it tosh all you like mate, I prefer managers to have experience. These players have seen off 4 or 5 managers. How would Dunc, with 3 games experience as a manager, do any better? What's his game plan? Tactics? What type of player would he attract?

It's all well and good wanting him for the right reasons but most that are calling for him only want him because of his stature at the club. Knowing how everton ticks isn't going to win him games, there's obviously more to it than that.

Imagine he got off to a bad start and never recovered. His status would be lost with some of the toxic fans we have.

Me too, mate. There's going to be some fans disappointed and some happy once a manager is appointed!
