Regarding the players many are referring to as deadwood, how many simply were not utilized correctly by previous coaches? How many had poor conditioning? How many were limited by poor tactics and motivation? With Rafa, many are going to have to demonstrate they need to be here and the players they are bringing in our experience players who may play viral supporting roles.

Well, we’ve gone down the road of throwing big money at big name players since Mosh came. Pleased to see that Rafa is making sensible transfers. When the window’s complete, I’m confident that our squad will be stronger. Be tough to play against, work hard, run at players, get stuck in, that’s what we want to see isn’t it? Were Cahill, Gravesen, Ferguson etc household names? Nope.
Quietly confident that Rafa and the boys could surprise a few next season.

It doesn't matter some players in relegated teams I will struggle to name if I even can, ran rings around some of our lot last season, we've not built a team since moyes, these guys arrived cheap think our big spending days are done for a while, so if we can utilise some players who know the league and not risky players from abroad, and some of these fantastic youngsters we apparently have we could yet build a team from within.

Some of this lot have not improved under 4 or 5 managers so it's time to say they will never improve.
Raga will bring in 5 or6 and they will play.
Siggurdson, iwobi, Delph, Kenny, gomes and Michael keane aren't going to improve anymore. It's the end of the road for them.

Good point Blues770 last season it looked like many of our players lacked fitness. You cannot perform at your best in the Prem if not fit, and we proved that.

You cannot perform at any aggressive elite contact sport unless you are superbly fit.
