I know that none of us are in a position to know the extent of Coaldman injury, but given he played the full game for the Republic, does seem to indicate that it is only a minor problem, with a little luck he should be ok for the Burnley game.

Considering we are short of cover at RB until the next window, if Seamus has a slight knock then we should rest him for the next game. We have Kenny, Holgate and Godfrey as cover so it's not too much of a big deal. It is the position that we needed to strengthen for a couple of windows now, didn't expect it to bite us on the arse so soon ito the season!

I suspect this might not be the most popular opinion, but I'm not at all convinced by Godfrey at RB. As good a player as he is, it seems to me that all of his weakest games for us have all come when he's been playing there.

Also, whilst Holgate and Kenny are obviously massive gambles, I think our best CB should be playing at CB.

I'm with you there John. Not into this idea of just shifting someone here and there to cover others. He's an extremely promising centre half and he will improve by playing at centre half. Also don't think it's great long term in respect of keeping someone of his ability to shift him around as a utility player rather than building a team around him in his favoured position.
The club must think Kenny is okay given that they took the decision to price him out of a permanent move before he went to Celtic on loan. We are now paying his wages until the end of his contract so play the guy and let's see what the club saw in him to make him worth more than we could have got for him!

I'd rather Godfrey play as a CB but he can cover the RB position if the need arises. I'm sure the lad would play in goal if asked!

3 centre backs only works if you can actually play someone who can do a job a right wing back, and can’t, so it isn’t an option. What a mess.
