Smith - Rafa was on 12 million a year in China - he can put out any statement but he clearly went there for the cash!
I would too - I'm not having a pop at him - I think most of us would go
He could have got job at any championship club at the time and probs half PL (shame he didn't come to us instead of Koeman)
I think / hope he will stay but if he's offered 12 million + a year and can sign players at will I'm sure he will be tempted - end if the day managers want to win - hence Moyes leaving for Man Utd, Carlo leaving for Real.
Maybe the owners will want a bigger name - isn't too many out there - Xavi would be an outside shout for me but the obvious choices - pep, Klopp won't leave - Carlo, conte, Jose, Mancini, Martinez I think have baggage.

I never thought Carlo would leave. I never thought Moyes would go to Man Ud. Never thought Koeman would be so useless - never thought Martinez would ever be linked to Barcelona job or that we would have Rafa.
Nothing would surprise me- I really hope not as he is up there with Moyes and Kendal for me as top 3 since I’ve been alive
All I’m saying our managers have proven over the years if they get offered a big job they don’t usually stay (EFC should be a top job but shackled with FFP who knows) but 200% I’d be gutted if he leaves.

I think you are getting yourself worked up over nothing, Sobs. If any of the managers that you mention left after 3 or 4 months then you would have a valid point. Out of them all, CA left to go to a club that he holds dear to himself, allegedly. Rafa has stuck his neck on the line to manage us, given his history with our neighbours, so I can't see him upseeting the apple cart and leaving for Newcastle. If he had been here a year or so and had no backing from the board then it might be a different story. I expect him to be in charge of us for some time to come mate.
