For me if there is to be a change of manager anytime soon it has to be Moyes. sorry if I upset a few on here. but I'm sick to death of this club keep recruiting so say big named managers with that have been there and won things with big clubs or as players with big clubs. we have no money to spend right now because of ffp. & for me Moyes worked wonders and proved his worth on tight budgets in his time with us by unearthing many gems such as Arteta, Cahill, Coleman to name a few. & yet still managed to produce a team committed to the cause and consistently finishing in the top half of the table.

I'm not one to criticise and I'm very thankful to Mr Moshiri for his investment into this club of ours by securing our new stadium and spending the vast sums of money that we have on the squad in previous years. but clearly there have been so many mistakes made here by him. not intentionally but mayb through lack footballing experience and a little naivety. I really wonder how much better Moyes might do here at the club when it comes to that time when we have the funds to spend again. for me he did so well before on the limited funds that he had.

I really want Rafa to do well. but his continual use of zonal defensive marking does not cut it for me. his substitutions have been baffling lately to say the least and his tactics too. if we continue like this I can see another toxic atmosphere arriving if it hasn't already and a very low finish on the table too. so if there is to be a managerial change yet again at our club anytime soon. for me longer term it would be Moyes for the reasons that I state.

I know there will be those that will disagree. but my opinions are purely based on football not feelings! We need a team again that fights for the shirt. we need a club again that is United not just on the pitch but that connects with the fans too. & we need a manager who is proven and who understands our club and our fans and who could get us consistently fighting at the top end of the table with a little financial backing.

what we have right now is mediocrity at the very best if even that. really hope things will get better soon as I'm one very disallusioned fan of 40 years now and counting. we are so far behind everyone else even after spending so much money wrongly.

we might have a new stadium to look forward too but who would want to watch our current crop of mediocres like the ones out there today in that new stadium? Let's hope we can sort this mess out sooner rather than later.

I sort of know where your coming from but to say your sick of us hiring so called 'big name' managers is a stretch. Rafa would be our 2nd, having failed dismally in finding the right man for the job from managers with bright futures but less experience.

Our problems run deeper which is why no matter who the manager is we won't do well. We have slowly stripped away the culture and heart of this great club and what Rafa now stands holding onto is a shell, and even that shell has cracks all over it.

We need to change the culture of this club, and that is a slow process and requires buying players who first and foremost will play for the shirt regardless of quality. Which is what I think Rafa was trying to do in the summer, he just didn't realise how far off in terms of quality Rondon now is, but Gray and Townsend do work. Once we get the culture right, we can bring in players of quality but they will know from the other players that they still have to work.

We need leaders, Coleman is not a leader, passionate yes, but he doesn't infect the rest of the team with his passion, he just gets angry which isn't the same thing. Godfrey looked like he could be a leader last season but now looks lost. Dacoure is a great player but don't see him as a leader. I'm truth I think DCL has the makings of the best leader we have in the squad. But we need 2/ 3 more at least.

{Ed0666's Note - I still think Howe & Rafa are gonna swap jobs at the end of the season

Need to put things in perspective. We're mid-table, have no money to spend and our spine has been/ is injured. We're all disappointed with last half dozen games but let's judge Rafa when he has our top players back and a couple more transfer windows. FFP and prev wastage has seriously damaged us but we can't turn back the clock and have to live with it. It'll probably get worse before it gets better ie, Richarlison being sold but for now our only aim should be staying in the prem league, shifting a bit more dead wood and a cpl youth players breaking through.

It's not just that but why would moyes come to us? This sort of run was allways going to split the fan base with the problems off rafas past as most are saying which manager was going to come with less than 2 mil to spend removing every viable saleable asset to reduce crippling ffp situation last season we had really only 4 players who chipped in with goals or assists and they have or are all missing dcl injured richarlison injured/ knackered James sold gylfi absent
We have for the majority of season been missing the core of the coupled with record signing not being available and then also losing Bernard James that were better than what had been left it looks an impossible task
I do feel rafa has been underperformed recently as manager and way below the standards expected but which other manager would have even considered the job under the circumstances h3s working under.

Why would Moyes come back?

He’s finally settled down in a job for the first time since leaving Everton. He has the fans onside at West Ham and I’d imagine more money to spend too.

One good season in how many and people still dream of a returning Moyes? He will revert to type soon enough and the hammers will drop a few places in the league.
Don't want the man anywhere near our club, a 2nd stint at a club rarely works out.

Some good points Mish.
Moyes would be mad to leave West Ham at the moment. Good squad, new investors, money to spend.

In my opinion, we need a manager that is hungry, with fresh, brave ideas. As fans, we mind losing less if we’ve been bold and tried to win. Benitez is trotting out tired tactics and is showing that he is too stubborn to try anything other than what has worked for him in the past.

Moshiri needs to rip up the plan, take a breath and start again. New DOF and a new manager that share a vision for the club - young, hungry players, no more mercenaries.
It’s rotten - Brands and Benitez are not the answer.
