Excited to see what team is put out on Saturday…my view would be:
Pickford
Patterson
Mina
Branthwaite
Godfrey
Alan
Doucoure
Gray
Gordon
Richarlison
DCL

That is a very good team by anyones standards and should be capable of top 6 but the way Benitez has us playing is the reason we are where we are…plus they just didn’t connect with him (understandably)

The dread in everyone’s head of course is that the squad is still capable of putting a team out that includes Coleman (total respect) , Keane, Delph, Davies, Iwobi, Rondon, Tosun…if we can get all of these gone and replace with a combination of youth and young talented players then we have a very good squad again!

The one positive on this manager merry go round is that Eddie Howe hasn’t been mentioned yet…thank god for Newcastle

Not sure who we should appoint long term but let’s just get some results and performances that shows these lads care…COYB.

Not a bad selection Brett I'd be slightly more conservative and replace Gordon with another CM I just think we will need more bodies in the middle of the park to start with then bring Gordon on when we need to change things.

I like that team, I'd also Gordon in from the start, maybe have him as one of a 3 in midfield, get him on the ball as much as possible.

Bret, good choice there. Will Digne be on the Villa left then we need to be strong on our right to minimise crosses coming in. With it being Patterson’s first game he needs to be up to it from kick off.

Yes not a bad line up, we will have to see how Patterson does, it seems Mykolenko might take a while to get up to the pace and intensity of the Premiership! Townsend maybe a bit unlucky not to make the starting line up?
