I'm hoping I'm wrong, but from Duncans press conference did it seem like he's already accepted he won't get the job permanently, with saying he hasn't got the experience. Any of the eds got any info on whether he is very much in the thoughts of the owner for the job? Thanks.

{Ed025's Note - i think they will be looking for someone with a higher profile dan, but if dunc does well i cant see why they wont at least consider him mate..

As we've seen in the past higher profile and big salaries don't always work. I hope they can see past that if he does well, but I won't hold my breath. Please just listen to the fans this time. And don't give us Rooney or Lampard, neither will last a year there.

How much more experience do you need than a 100% record? Give him 12 games in 4 batches of 3. Give him a target of 6-7 points per batch. 24-28 points would be as good if not better what any other manager would achieve. If he can get that then leave him till he end of the season.

I pretty much thought he was taking his hat out of the ring. He has been given a few games to steady the ship but notiing after that. He made it sound like he doesn't want to be a full time manager.

Don't think with the utmost respect (and I don't want him popping round for a 'chat') , that Dunc is the most eloquent. Perhaps he is happier not (solely) in front of the camera.

I think that Dunc doesn’t want to ruin the relationship he has with the club and fans. We clearly all love him and he loves us but if he becomes manager and it goes wrong he’ll get the sack and have to leave. Just don’t think he wants this to happen!

I am thinking and hoping that Duncans remit is to get us to a free from relegation situation, then purely after his own comments it's back to the 'managerial merry-go-round ' where every Tom Dick and Harry are floated then flouted leaving every one of us flummoxed one minute then elated the next deflated . . . It's fun being an Evertonian ain't it? ?‍?.
