It seems clear that in the search for a new manager, we are skint so we certainly won't be poaching any other teams manager like Moshiri did with Silva or Koeman, but scrabbling around in the shallow pool of currently unemployed managers. If Moshiri has chosen Pereira, you have to wonder what his checklist of credibility looks like. Of the managers available, assuming the likes of Fonseca wouldn't touch us with a bargepole, or Pulis, Fat Sam etc are too old school, old fashioned and unpopular, then it really must be that the best choice at this moment in time would be Lampard. He wouldn't be my choice of we had more options, but right now at least he has Prem and English football experience, has passion and enthusiasm to almost Dunc-like levels, recognises talent in youth and has a respect, pedigree and reputation as a player that the squad can't help but acknowledge. It's only a few more selling points than Rooney, but Charisma goes a long way in a 'manager bump' for a team facing a relegation scrap and Lamps has plenty of that. I'm not saying he's the long term answer, but of the options out there, we could do a lot worse, and probably will knowing our board. If we were to take a punt on an up and coming manager to create a club identity, well I'd go for Steve Cooper. He might look like a sleepy pickled egg, but he's had a great impact at the clubs he's worked at so far and Forest especially play some pretty good football.
