I'm old enough to remember when we were close to being gout of business, almost being relegated and close almost every season to going out the league. Bill came in and steadied the ship. His main fault is that he wasn't a billionaire himself. I think if you'd have given bill the billions then when wouldn't be in this situation.

I think most of my generation would understand what Bill has done for us. I've been sat by him a few times at the game and spoken to him and he always affords you plenty of time. He's just like us really. Just talks about everton what he hopes, what he dreams of us being and says nothing but understanding of the team or result.

It makes me laugh that fans think they know best. 1 hour in his shoes they'd be jumping off the top of the main stand. These point out to the bad things that's happened but never the positives. Just like they did outside that ground.

I stood at Bramley Moore Dock today. It is absolutely massive. I honestly had no idea how big that area is and when i saw the footprint of the stadium on it, I'm sure no one else does either. That stadium is going to do more for this club than any billionaire. That is down to selling our club to someone with a similar ambition to us fans. That was Bill.

When you stand in that stadium in a couple of years time, remember who it was, who got the man to build a stadium that will guarantee our future.

Hes got loads wrong, of course he has but he's put plenty on the line over the years. None of us have the right to abuse him sure we can question but in the cold light of day it has been clear from the very beginning he only has love for our club and none should question that.

Well said BJU the position we are in cannot be just attributed to BK alone, he did what he thought was right for the club at the time.

If we all look back at our posts over the years. Who here sitting in our armchairs, hasn't thought they could do one thing, but time and events have made us have the opposite view.
In a couple months this might all a nightmare and we are in wonderland with Frank ( ???) . But whatever happens BK has only done ( maybe misguidely) what he thought was best for EFC, and that what we each advocate here every day.
Yes he probably should sit back and retire, but he IS a true blue Evertonian and like us all his 1st thought in the morning and last at night will be Everton.

Good post BJU. I am old enough to have seen us relegated and it was not a happy time. Bill is one of us, he has made mistakes but now is the time for all Evertonians to rally behind the owner, board, Manager and players, we are all in this together.

BJU. Excellent post and a voice of reason. It’s way too easy nowadays to just rant on about failure without having a full understanding of what really goes on in order to judge fairly. We cannot ever assume all is straight forward enough to simply blame BK. Or expect an owner to pour in money or the access to money without them wanting a final word in how it’s used.

We got the guy who brought Kante to the prem as DoF and whilst that looked a great appointment at the time we waisted a lot of money

We got Koeman then Silva then Sam then Ancelotti, all of which were attempts at finding the right man (Sam right for keeping us up, the only one that worked by the way) but no silverware.

We got a DoF with pedigree that we hoped would work but it didn’t. We brought in Rafa, a decision that had to work because of his history but again failed.

Now this all sounds bad but I can see the reasoning in every single appointment. And now people are digging out Ferguson because he has been a common denominator through all of this.

The bottom line is this. We retrospectively have all the wisdom in the world. But when these people are first brought in we can all hand on heart truthfully say that we don’t know exactly if this will actually work.

So why condemn Bill for being the same as us?!

Excellent post BJU you hit the nail on the head buddy, Hope in recognition of all his dedication over the many years to his beloved Club that the owner has a stand named after Bill Kenwright he has been a True Blue for E F C and long may it continue.

All the above post speak well in support of Bill. I must add that as far as I am aware he has always whenever possible tried to support his selected manager in the transfer market. Hope he’s around for a long time. Perhaps something at the new ground could be named after him in recognition of his work for the club.

I think Bill knocked back man citys owners. I'm not a Bill hater, but, if you base your credentials on decisions you make. that's a bad one.

Great post mate, totally agree with you. Some fans will never be happy and want to vent their bile towards people who have done more for efc than they ever will in their lifetime. This cancel culture is ridiculous! Think some should take heed of the old adage, if you've nothing nice to say then say nothing.

100% BJU you are very correct, the man it could be said saved us up n those dark days. I was one of the kids on the pitch when we beat Wimbledon on that final day singing his name as a saviour.
Something else to point out though is that he has been very very handsomely rewarded also and I suspect made a lot of money from the Club and we haven’t won a trophy. It’s a balancing act.
