With the performance from Van de Beek yesterday (I know only one game for us so far) if he keeps up with performances like that do we think we should make it a permanent deal? This is the type of player we need in middle of park.

If so, with Utd looking for a striker do you think a deal could be done? Or do we think they may want DCL going the other way in some part of the deal?

Not talking a swap deal as DCL potentially worth considerably more than dvb but some sort of deal of cash and dvb for DCL.

I wouldn’t want to lose DCL but if that’s one of the only way to get a deal done what would anyone think?

Is it time to move DCL on with his increasing injuries? Or would finding.

Depends if they want to sell him or not. For some reason managers keep avoiding VDB, maybe we will find out why in the games to come.

They are losing Lingard, Cavani, probably Pogba in the summer too, they’ll likely need him. If not and he continues to do good things for us, I would like him to stay, not sure it’s realistic though.

As for DCL, not sure Utd would be interested, depends who the manager is. Swap deals are very rare so that’s unlikely.

I’d like to keep DCL in the sense that he does score goals. But his overall play on the ball itself is quite poor. He’d be hard to replace though.

Remember Lukaku having a very poor first touch when he was with us, but that hasn’t held him back. DCL just needs to work on it in training, but at his age we definitely need to keep him.

Frank has said to the board he wants to build the team around DCL so I doubt he’ll be sold . But I agree a permanent move for DVDB is the way to go.
Also Dele is looking like he’s finding his way that through ball to Rondon was brilliant, worldly save by their keeper though.

DCL’s problem isn’t his first touch as much as the rest of his game. He can’t run at people, has pace but never uses it, his passing is fairly poor and you just know when he is facing the defenders he’s going to lose the ball 99% of the time.

Lukaku would embarrass centre backs when he ran at them.

swan you forgot about DCL being very poor in one on ones.

I think it’s best we look at how poor our results have been without DCL before we start looking at getting rid. He’s not perfect but he is young and a long way off his expected prime. Plenty of time to hone his skill.

Also we struggled to replace Lukakus goals and we will struggle to replace DCLs too.

He is genuinely one of the most exciting young talents in the league and he plays for us. It would worry me if a CL team came in for him this summer because we cannot afford to lose him.

We must move heaven and earth over the next few windows to keep him and our other exciting young players at the club if we are to have any success in the coming years.

That ball through to Rondon (yes a good save) , would have been in the back of the net if that was Tosun. Champions league and Country he fed on that sort of service.

Let's just be glad someone was there at the end of that pass how often has there been noone anywhere near a pass like that. Players wandering towards halfway.

Can’t believe some of the rubbish on here. The guy is our top goal scorer .

Top scorer?
Not so this season.
Townsend 7, Gray 6 and Richarlison with 5 have all got more than the 3 of DCL.
