Obviously early days for VDB but I have been convinced since we were linked to him a year ago he would be a success. Proper Everton player imo.

If a team comes in for Richy or DCL in the summer for big money I would honestly let 1 of them leave. Use the money and go and get VDB on a perm and Abraham from Roma.

What's everyone's opinion?

I'd keep both. We will never have success selling a top player to allow us to spend. We have enough squad players deemed surplus and wages being reduced will help us. Keep Richy, keep dcl and build. Selling them is like taking 2 steps forward and 3 steps back.

Wouldn’t want to lose either.
However if a decent offer came in and the player wanted to move then that would be different.
Unless we improve we won’t keep our top players, that’s why we need to try and win the cup this season.

I wonder if DCL has already been affected by the press linking him to various clubs in the summer, but need to keep the best players.
Priority is to advance up the league, but the FA Cup draw has been kind so far for the club and Frank certainly knows his way to Wembley, so fingers crossed if it could happen.

Read a lot of reports, including on here that Richarlison is off in the summer, but when you see him play each week I find that hard to believe; he leaves nothing on the pitch. So either he is staying or he’s the consummate professional. DCL leaving seems more likely, think his head has already been turned. If he does go, I’d like us to sign Dennis from Watford.

I can’t see the club actively trying to sell either of DCL or Richarlison.

However I think if we’re all honest they are the type of players bigger and better clubs will be interested in.
If a big club comes calling for them I think they’d probably be off.

Not sure either are the type to try and actively seek a move away, they may be happy to stay if we pick up points and show some improvement in the league for the remainder of the season. They may then be willing to give a full season under the new regime. Winning the cup would also go some way I believe to keeping them as would give European football.

However if a big club comes calling we could lose them.

It's hard to say who are best player is. Is DCL our best player with his goal scoring? Probably. Richarlison is extremely important and up there. Gordon has been our best player in my opinion so far this season. Great 3 attacking players there, Richarlison has the graft and drive offering a goal threat from out wide, DCL offers a great goal scoring ability and Gordon has the creativity. I think Gordon could go on and be world class.

For me, I thought this wS the model the club should have taken, and we're looking to take under brands.

Buy youngsters, train them, coach them, and play them. Make them into better players and sell them for a profit to reinvest in the team.

Plenty of clubs follow this model across the world.

I'm not saying sell dcl or richy but if they want to go, let them and give dobbin or simms game time and the cycle continues.

I understand what you are saying but it's not that simple. At the moment we really can't afford to lose either of them. We absolutely need to do everything to ensure that they both stay next season. Hopefully after that we will have a much better platform set to be able to cope with losing them.

Not sure why people think you shouldn't sell your best players. Liverpool have done pretty selling their better players. It's about how you reinvest the money that comes back in. Certain areas and positions need strengthening why not sell your best player if it will make the overall team better? Makes it even more attractive to sell you better players when they are over rated and over priced. That's the point posters are making, not that they want DCL out of our club.
