lot of debate/ arguing over Roman Dixon at the minute on Twitter/ X
interested to hear other thoughts on here
Ed, would you throw him in at Spurs for his first taste of first team football?
{Ed025's Note - i have not seen enough of him to form an opinion at this time WB, Spurs have a couple of decent wingers and i dont want to see him skinned and his confidence dented so its a big call for him, but you could say unless they try him we will never know i suppose mate...its a tough one..

If the lad has anything about him and is ever going to do well at this level, certainly from a competitive standpoint, he should be banging down Dyche's door pleading with him to play and get his chance.
I haven't seen a lot of him either Ed but the fact that he looks hungry and full of desire and has pace about him, means he is automatically better than Young or Holgate etc.
{Ed025's Note - yeah i get that BN, even if he gave him a half it would be something mate, but knowing SD i very much doubt it..

If he's good enough then he's old enough. Think the lad would jump at the chance. Or we can loan him out and then sell him for peanuts at the end of the season.
Remember when Ratcliffe first came into the side, he had a mistake in him but his pace got him out of trouble. Look how he ended up.
Also if your ever going to try him it's now early in the season, before Sean starts using relegation as a reason for not using young players.

Spurs away is not one I would bank on for us getting much. If anything I would try him on the cup the following week.

I agree with BB on playing Dixon at Spurs but as a matter of interest Toffee Ace who would you playas Coleman and Garner are injured, Young is suspended and Holgate has no pace or positional sense and is an accident waiting to happen.

Why? What are you going to learn playing him against Doncaster? Get him in against Spurs and let the lad have a go.
I mean Keane looked good playing nobody pre season, and look out that turned out.

My point is that we could get destroyed by spurs the way we’re playing. I’d sooner protect him from that. Seriously will he be the difference? Of course not. One youngster untried in the prem will not solve our problems all on his own.
So my thought (and it’s just a thought) is spurs proposes risks to his confidence but Doncaster not so much. So if we have to see him, let’s start there. If he has a good game then there’s an argument that he can have a premier league start. If not, then at least we haven’t done any harm to his progression.

I don’t buy this risk to confidence with young players. They just want to play and be given a chance. I mean say he plays really well against Doncaster, then fans will be screaming for him to play against Spurs, and Dyche will say he’s to tired and play Holgate.

Play Dixon at rb and then we don't need right winger. Dixon is rapid, can dribble and cross a ball. Just have him other right on his own lol.

You don't win anything with youngsters.
{Ed025's Note - or tired old men, or players who are crap, or ones who play under a manager without a scooby..

I'm joking it's the famous old saying.
I would put Dixon in, he is the best we have at the moment.

I remember watching a young Aaron Wan Bissaka make his debut, I think it was against Spurs for an injury ravaged palace side and he got motm and went on to play all fixtures that month and got player of the month.
I also remember Trent getting his full debut in a tasty clash against United and he looked top drawer.
This happens all the time and the big clubs aren’t scared of doing it either.
If he is good enough and let’s face it, he can’t be worse than what we have been subjected to, then effing play the lad.
