{Ed025's Note - absolutely GB..

The quality in the final third tonight was atrocious. Yes we need a striker to score the goals but he needs decent service too.

{Ed025's Note - it was a bit better tonight Swinners, but it was aganist a league 2 side mate, the midfield needs more quality of course but the movement from Beto was non-existent, he is slow and cumbersome and is more of a nuisance than a help..

Yeah all true . at the game tonight and to be honest I want Beto to do well in an Everton shirt . BUT. my God too slow . he's just a battering ram.

Strange how everyone sees Beto differently.
I like him, works his socks off all game and never gives up. Think he looks cumbersome just because of how tall he is, always a nuisance and has a bit of strength to him.
Think with a run of games he’ll improve and looks like one of those players that once gets a goal confidence will pick up and go on a run.
Tonight he took his goal really well - nice little touch to keep it away from the oncoming defender and then slotted it in.

The big thing with him is he genuinely looks like he cares and wants to play for us and do well.

With DCL looking unlikely to sign a new contract Beto should be starting every game for us.

Not getting carried away tonight due to opposition but some positives to take from the game - Ndiaye looks lively and offers something different, O’Brian is massive and did well, Iroegbunam had another really good game, good to see Garner back and Beto bagged a goal.

Just hope dyche doesn’t overlook these performances tonight and pick the same players on Saturday that he has in the other league games - Ndiaye, garner and Beto should all start on the weekend.

Why does it matter what midfield we have? It just gets bypassed.
Imagine having onana, Arteta, gana Barry, Mccarthy in the middle?
We don't have any possessing and they wouldn't have any of the ball.
Papers and media lauding us for winning against Doncaster.
Lampard kept us up and then lost his way and was out of his depth. Same for Sean for me. Kept us up but everything he says just galvanises what a Burnley manager would say.
Making such a big deal about how hard the Donny game was. No it wasn't and shouldn't be. Give them respect yes but Everton should win that and the manager should expect to win it and instill that in the team.
I'd rather us go down than watch this for another season.

Have to disagree ed thought he sss excellent tonight and worked his backside off again, him over dcl every day of the week, Lindstrom looks too weak but Ndiaye looks a player.

{Ed025's Note - sometimes just working hard is not enough Tranmere, at premiership level its all about quality mate and im afraid Beto has very little of that, his movement is very poor for me and misses far too many chances, i want him to be good i really do but hes certainly no Lukaku, i agree on Linstrom and Ndiaye did very well but it was against weak opposition so i wont hail him as our saviour just yet, these are just my opinions though..

Beto is Championship level at best. When are we going to move away from this lauding players who simply run around a lot. Give me a lazy Lukaku who knows how to score goals any day. Rather than a grafter who can’t hit a barn door.

{Ed025's Note - spot on for me Woburn, it just shows how low our standards have dropped at this club, Latchford, Royle, Sharpe, Lukaku...and even Jelavic he is not, now im not asking for that sort of quality because the situation we are in i understand thats not possible at this time....but come on guys surely we are a bit better than this FFS..

Sorry Woburn but not sure how you say can’t hit a barn door.

Beto hasn’t been given a decent chance in the league.

Yet in the efl trophy he’s played 90 mins in which he scored twice and assisted a goal.

In the efl cup last night played 90 mins and scored a goal.

He can clearly score a goal and given a run of games in the league I believe he’ll score for us.

Way too early to be writing him off when he hasn’t been given a chance to prove himself in the league.

With DCL clearly not wanting to stay Beto should be starting every game and then fans can fairly judge him after a run of games in the league where he gets atleast 75minutes on the pitch - can’t judge him fairly on his cameo appearances in the league.

Theres always at least one player that splits opinions and one that gets unfairly criticised without having had a decent chance to show what he can do and it appears Beto is one of them.
