Fred and Coufal feel like stocking fillers. not the real deal, and 32 years old. surely we can stretch the budget to be more ambitious and get in young players. the premier league is much more about having legs than other leagues. as City's older players found out last year. much happier to hear of links to Fellows and Barry. right age profile, sell-on value and giving us a feel that we can go places as opposed to settling for mid-table safety. with a long cup run unlikely. Heres hoping the rumours are just tired hacks filling spaces!

Can understand Coufal as he’s on a free, however if we pay the rumoured £15m for Fred I fear we’ve learned no lessons!

Hoping it’s just a nonsense click bait story as doesn’t appear to fit our new recruitment process of younger players with resale value if we were to recruit him.

You wonder where it all comes from and how much truth is in any of it.

I hope this one is fake. It doesn’t fill me with confidence at all. Put it in the has-been pile and move on.

Coufal is smart bit of business if he signs. Very good full back and a short term fix while we use money for different areas.

I really thought we had learned our lesson, signing player who come to Everton at the fag end of their career, looking for a nice, well paid rest home, with no pressure or expectations of winning anything.

We need a mix of young talent and experienced pros to bolster the squad. Age is but a number, we only have to look at Gana to see that hitting 30 isn't the end of a career these days. He was immense fornus last season at the ripe old age of 35! Should we take his offer off the table because some fans deem that too old? What age is the cut off for some of our fans?
