Did the kone deal get over the line?

Aches_And_Baines

1.) 01 Feb 2017 10:16:56
Seems not.
Only thing that spoiled my TDD.

Happy with the couple of arrivals.
More would have been nice but better to get the RIGHT ones in.

Pointless shipping the deadwood and replacing it with same.

Summer will be massive

2.) 01 Feb 2017 15:53:56
yes Kone has gone pretty sure of that

3.) 01 Feb 2017 22:17:57
Errr he's not gone. Still at the club. Deal didn't get done in time.

I'm embarrassed by the "fans" booing stones. The lad was always respectful to our club. We should respect that.

1.) 15 Jan 2017 15:29:09
To be fair he didn't really leave under bad circumstances, we got a massive bid for him and he left, I have no ill feeling toward him. It was from a very small group of supporters though at least. On another note, what a great performance!

2.) 15 Jan 2017 16:25:02
You get em everywhere, from Football to Votes and all the rest, they just don't think and just look how they react when you take them to task, mindless and ignorant. That was a wonderful performance, I nearly choked on my pint when I saw he had included Barry (respect but he is slowing up that is just a fact of life) and would have taken a draw. Once we started playing though and saw the determination I was really chuffed. RK for me is ahead of schedule, you have to wonder who else he and Mr Walsh have got up their sleeves.

3.) 15 Jan 2017 16:57:17
To be fair AB a lot of them were laughing when they were doing it. Not sure many would want him back in place of Holgate.

4.) 15 Jan 2017 17:57:18
I get it guys we're all passionate about the club. As it was live on sky with a lot of interest in the result I just thought it was a missed opportunity to show what a class act we are to all. And show the reds we're not the bitters they believe us to be. But as above. Great result. Loving the feeling. Hopefully this'll show the doubters what we can do at Everton!

5.) 15 Jan 2017 18:01:21
For me Holgate is a better defender than Stones because he does exactly what you want him to do. defend! None of these Cruyff turns in our own half! Just plain and simple no nonsense.

6.) 15 Jan 2017 19:32:08
I don't get what the problem is? The same fans were booing Sterling as well! I wish john stones every success as I'm sure most blues do, but as fans if us jeering a player from the opposition makes him uncomfortable and make a mistake then surely that's how it should be! If fans who pay for a ticket can't boo or cheer as and when they want then I'm afraid football is dying!

Ed, do you know if we are still interested in Ospina from Arsenal? Thanks.

Aches_And_Baines

{Ed025's Note - we were when roberto was in charge A+B but im not sure about now mate..

1.) 23 May 2016 23:44:07
hope not he is proper crap. sooner have tim howard back.

17 Aug 2015 17:19:03
Bbc say qpr have said 2 firm bids received for Austin but they have not met their valuation and they are in discussion with the clubs.

Wonder if one of those r from us?

I know he prefers London but apparently Spurs more interested in Hernandez and I don't think West Ham know who they really want.

Aches_And_Baines

1.) 17 Aug 2015 17:37:10
Aston villa apparently one with cash from benteke sale

2.) 17 Aug 2015 17:41:14
Hope so mate, he not only guarantees goals but he guarantees a variety of goals, tap ins, headers and everything in between. Would be a quality addition.

3.) 17 Aug 2015 18:10:54
Over rated for me just my opinion tho

4.) 17 Aug 2015 19:06:53
Agree with Kingy don't think one good season in the prem is enough to warrant a 10m+ transfer fee. Maybe 7 or 8mil. Would prefer Hernandez scored goals wherever he's played without much game time.

5.) 17 Aug 2015 19:10:08
The lad knows where the net is but, for the price being mentioned, it would be a bit of a risk knowing that he has a dodgy knee. We have been stung with Gibson, great player but never fit, but that was a gamble worth taking when you consider he cost a couple of million. Can we afford to take a 15m gamble on Austin?

6.) 17 Aug 2015 19:59:06
We've taken strikers before on the back of one good goal scoring season Andy Johnson James Beatty ect and things didn't work out. I have a feeling last year might have been more luck than skill for Austin we have to be careful

7.) 17 Aug 2015 21:57:28
Hernandez all day long he will get us the goals we need in games comeing of the bench he's a proven striker

8.) 18 Aug 2015 06:24:25
Anyone remember saying Ba would've been a massive risk he was a free aswell remind me how he done also get real 15mil is nothing in todays money in football get him in 18 goals for QPR and when you consider kone foe 6mil 15mil looks a bargain

9.) 18 Aug 2015 10:11:41
Simo, I am being realistic by saying 15m is a lot of money to put down on a gamble for two reasons. Firstly, how much do you think we will have to spend this window? We have already spent nearly 5m so that would be 20m in total if we went for Austin. That has to be more than half of our entire transfer budget. Secondly, the lad failed a medical within the last 18 months so, at the very least, there was something serious enough to shelve a transfer. Got to be better options out there if you get real :)

Ok I know this is clutching at straws but it's all I have left.

Martinez is in west brom. A stop off at Stoke on the way home to speak to Mr shakri?

He hasn't signed on the dotted line for them yet.

Aches_And_Baines

1.) 10 Aug 2015 22:31:25
RM was not at West Brom - he was in the studio (in London) and left before the match in order to get back to Merseyside. I imagine he was in London earlier in the day to meet with BK (at his London office) and discuss transfers, etc., - or he might have met agents and other concerned parties in London to discuss possible transfers. I missed the start of the Monday night football show, so I don't know if his presence was explained further. Clearly RM was a short-notice replacement for Gary Neville who was absent due to family bereavement.

2.) 11 Aug 2015 09:02:14
Nail on the head there sid or carra just wanted to analyse were bobby was going wrong and highlight it to him to show that it doesn't take a genius to see were we go wrong!

Watching deadline day on tv and it sure is dead! Quiet for everyone. No big spending. And they’re trying to do anything to fill the airtime.

It’s hard to watch. Think I’ll tune back in 4pm.

I wonder if Brexit day is playing its part.

2.) 31 Jan 2020 14:23:14
Brexit playing it's part in transfers? We aren't actually leaving the EU today you know. Will be another 1-3 years before we leave so its got nothing to do with it.

i think we won't buy any one mate if am honest we need good few positions and i would rather wait till the summer then start buying now like ed said got players there who we can't budge either cause there either on a high wage or just not good enough for other clubs to buy them from us still very optimistic that c. a will come good for us just going to need time well loads haha C. O. Y. B.

Hi Ed. Not had a poll for a while. What about one on new manager?

Arteta
Silva
AVB
Howe
Conte

Seems to be the main names doing the rounds In the media.

Everton Manager Poll

28 Nov 2017 09:01:22
the only thing that will give me a shred of hope is if we announce AVB as manager.

Aches_And_Baines

1.) 28 Nov 2017 14:49:09
Based on 2 failed jobs in prem that’s why, has not done anything apart from Porto but then most managers that been at Porto are successful.

Huge wages for such a risk. We need to lower wages on books.

he should be loaned to a championship team or a lower level prem team for more experience. he's too much of a liability for us right now. and hopefully we're aiming higher under ancelotti.

(In) The Mersey Stadium!

Seriously though as long as its not Ryanair or EasyJet stadium I don't mind. Don't think it'll be an airline due to limited long haul from the area.

It could be a phone company they have money to burn these days. The o2? The EE stadium? Although phones4u stadium would be pretty rubbish too!
