I read Chelsea are being linked with dodgy finance and tax evasion funding them during the Abramovic years. Would any of the Eds know if this amounts to similar charges to City? I’m only asking from an Everton point of view as PSR meant we were deducted points and would it affect finishing positions?
I’m still wondering whether City will ever be docked points and I’d guess this new Chelsea info would not be addressed until next season or the season after.
{Ed001's Note - no, it is different. They are not linked, they are guilty. It was the new Chelsea ownership that self-reported the rules breaches when they got a proper look at the books. That should ensure their punishment is minimal as it was prior to them taking over and they could have simply said nothing, as the FA was not interested in looking into their finances. The Chelsea info is not new, as I said, they self-reported the issue pretty much straight after assuming ownership.}

Chelsea owners run the club like a game of monopoly, they will just sell more hotels.
2.) 29 Jan 2025 19:33:25
I remember it now Ed. Hasn’t put two and two together. Do you think it will be dealt with more swiftly than city? Anyone who can finish below us would be of great help but I wonder how many points they could be deducted. We got 8 for £20-£30m over wasn’t it? Forest 4 for a bit more? How much are we taking for Chelsea over 10-15 years?
Or am I completely misunderstanding the situation?
I wonder how many other clubs have skeletons in their closet (including us) ….
{Ed001's Note - they have to do a complete audit of the accounts, so it could take a while yet, but it should be done overall more quickly because they are not hiring huge teams of lawyers to block everything and tie it up in legalese.}

There goes the goal difference advantage we had… doubt they will sack him this week.
Lose to Wolves and he is gone. Don’t think he can come back from that.

Should gave sacked him in the break. Left it far to late. Incompetence is whst it is. Dyche should resign but obviously wont.

I’m starting to think the writing is on the wall. We have 10 points, 3 points above relegation (if Ipswich hold on to beat Spurs) . Coming up we have:
Brentford (H)
United (A)
Wolves (H)
the Derby (H)
Arsenal (A)
Chelsea (H)
City (A)
Forest (H)
Bournemouth (A)
Villa (H)
Spurs (H)
Brighton (A)
Leicester (H) 1st Feb
Given how we lost to Southampton and drew against West Ham, I can’t see us picking up 3 points until Feb. We could do with the takeover asap so we can get someone in to spark the team into playing football and not this over defensive style where we just about cling on if we take the lead or more likely fall behind and then lose due to no change in tactics with our only response being like for like subs.
We really need players to step up and start hitting back of the net. It’s going to be a tall ask for Broja who hasn’t managed it at other clubs; DCL who seems continuously out of luck; and Beto who tries but just lacks the physicality and know how in the prem.
How are we going to stay up this season?
1.) 10 Nov 2024 16:12:08
Not good BR mate but still reckon we will be ok provided Sean gets binned, Bottom lot are getting closer to us though and Ipswich had a great result today, tough games coming up but so has everyone else, Come Christmas I hope we are further up the table.
2.) 10 Nov 2024 16:23:12
The only way is for everton to sack SD and for once in a very long time pick the right manager, will this happen I'm not sure, who is the right manager I have no idea, some big decisions need to happen very quickly because we can't carry on like this.
3.) 10 Nov 2024 16:53:40
De Zerbi the ex Brighton manager saying he might leave Marseille. Did very well at Brighton, and plays a nice style of football.
4.) 10 Nov 2024 17:59:48
At least Freidkin has sacked the Roma manager so hope for us yet.
5.) 10 Nov 2024 21:37:10
De Zerbi he a cracking appointment nfm.
If only mate ?.
6.) 11 Nov 2024 09:22:50

What do you think of all this Ed25? Another Moshiri in disguise or someone who might bring us happier times?
{Ed025's Note - im hoping for better than Moshiri BR, but you just never know i suppose mate..but im hopeful..
1.) 26 Sep 2024 18:29:15
Am not overly convinced Ed if rumours of Sarri are true, decent manager but liked seeing someone a lot younger and fresher. Also daft as it sounds if he is prepared to put a ex Lazio manager in charge of us whilst being the owner of Roma, rings alarms to me. Just hoping these are just baseless rumours, what is a certainty is the need for a change and hopefully a end to all this.
{Ed025's Note - yeah im not counting any chickens just yet Mocker, we have been here before mate and look how that turned out, i shall precede with caution for the forseeable future and see how things go..
2.) 26 Sep 2024 18:36:24
Yeah what will be will be Ed mate. Hope you had a nice time across the channel ?.
{Ed025's Note - it was good Mocker, a nice break but im not sure i would go back mate, cheers..
3.) 26 Sep 2024 19:18:42
Good to have you back Ed; just in time to watch us beat Palace at the weekend!
{Ed025's Note - cheers BR, i hope you are right mate and that this is the start of a new beginning, get some points on the board and head up the table where we deserve to be, COYB..
4.) 26 Sep 2024 20:04:57
I think the difference this time around is that when we got our first billionaire owner we all thought this is it!
This time around I think fans have tempered their expectations a little. Now it's just about seeing improvement in the team, and a clear progression in the club.
{Ed025's Note - you are right Brass..
5.) 26 Sep 2024 19:09:57
Nice to have you back ed025.
{Ed025's Note - cheers Nick..

I just wonder if there is someone better for the job pasty. He’s done what he can with limited resources. Do we stick with him or twist now we might have some money?
Maupay, Danjuma and Harrison are the ones who haven’t shone brightly. Jury is out on Lindstrom. Can’t tell with Alcaraz as he hasn’t played yet. Think the majority of my frustration is on the players we haven’t signed. We’ve needed a right midfielder and full backs for a while and it’s not been sorted. Add to that the striker/ forward issue that has plagued us for seasons.
I’m not saying get rid of him - I’m questioning whether there is someone better connected out there….
03 Feb 2025 22:09:54
Ideally, you’d want loans to tide us over until summer but we’re in the position of Broja being injured and yet to return to Chelsea, Mangala who is injured and yet to return to France and Harrison who was a waste of a loan space and should never have been signed again who won’t go back to Leeds as they have no reason to call him back or have him back due to his wages.
How will the Argentinian lad become another loan is so far not understandable to me unless one of those three go.
My money is on the lights have been turned off at Finch Farm and Thelwell will be out the door in Summer. Right, off to the bookies….
04 Feb 2025 21:07:32
It’s difficult to know exactly what Thelwell does. We’ve had some good signings recently and he’s been dealing with offloading players on high wages that were not his doing.
I would have liked us to not resign Harrison and Young but to find other players who fit the bill of being hungry and upcoming. The thing that worries me is how we go about our business and why other teams seem to find hidden gems and we struggle to. Looking for after the days we found Cahill, Coleman and the like. If Thelwell has unearthed a gem in Alcaraz then I’ll happily eat my hat but we often seem inept at buying in players.
That’s my take on it. Are there better people at the job or there and available in the summer? If so, should we look to upgrade?
03 Feb 2025 18:41:51
Looks like everyone has gone home for the day and there won’t be any signings this window.
02 Feb 2025 19:46:00
Surely it’s not as clear cut as that. Leeds have the final say and why would they do us a favour?
08 Feb 2025 06:39:08
I’d take a loss against Bournemouth but a win against Liverpool if I had to choose. We need the points more than the cup run. Two wins would be great but I don’t think that will happen.
05 Feb 2025 22:34:27
Do we know when city will be given the league’s verdict so they can fight it some more? Ours was done pretty quickly. I know City will make it drag out as long as possible and expect Chelsea will be done before them.
04 Feb 2025 21:01:22
Not risen very high though BJU… think we are still fanning the flame as we try to escape and getting our tail feathers singed.
02 Feb 2025 15:26:15
The last time I saw us beat Liverpool at Goodison was in 1997 when Cadamarteri scored - remember him?
I’ve not made a Derby match since 2001 and we haven’t faired too well in that time. Would live to end on a win but I think I’d be happier to win the first Derby at BMD….
01 Feb 2025 11:17:28
I’d take 1-0 with Leicester scoring an own goal. If we win today, it’d be a huge step towards safety. Especially if wolves or Ipswich get nothing.
