Carlos Alcaraz has supposedly signed for us. No idea who is. The name scares me a little but hey there you go!
1.) 31 Jan 2025 17:10:01
His wiki page says he’s an Argentine midfielder who’s on loan at Everton from flamenco serie A, mangala must have gone back?! Wtf looking for further confirmation and then reels!
2.) 31 Jan 2025 17:14:27
Further to my previous it’s on ssn transfer live blog and Flamengo Brazil serie A agreed with possible option to buy. Was at Southampton last season apparently.
3.) 31 Jan 2025 17:26:25
Was he good at Southampton? as I don’t know this fella. But was at juventus as well apparently from the article I read €18 million is what flamengo payed for him.
4.) 31 Jan 2025 17:31:14
Spent second half of the season on loan at Juve which ain’t a bad thing not a bad age
Loan with obligation to buy if certain criteria are met from reports
I am sure I read that these “obligation to buy” were viewed differently in the ever changing loan world to straight loans and option to buy ones.
5.) 31 Jan 2025 17:47:25
I’m liking the way this has gone under the radar and not the three ring circus under Moshiri.
6.) 31 Jan 2025 18:11:39
Totally agree Big C
And the right profile of player for me
Reluctantly just spoke to a mate who unfortunately for him is a saints fan but then currently likes to remind me how we gave Russell Martin his only win ?
Anyway he said Alcaraz imposes well on the game, loves a tackle, like most Argentine midfielders
Likes to progress forward and good passer so that’s a Doucoure upgrade
Also good with a dead ball
Sounds a good acquisition.
13 Aug 2023 12:03:36
Jack Harrison close according to Paul Joyce and Bobble.
{Ed002's Note - For the LW collection.}
1.) 13 Aug 2023 12:15:21
We’d surely be bringing him in to play on the right. I don’t think we even have a right winger in the squad after Townsend left.
2.) 13 Aug 2023 12:45:47
Wiki have Jack Harrison as an Everton player someone’s quick sadly they write Everton F c obviously too quick to press the caps key!
3.) 13 Aug 2023 12:53:06
Maybe so Gibbo but his preferred/ best position is on the left, why can't we just sign an actual right winger?
4.) 13 Aug 2023 12:57:37
He is better than any LW we have anyway and comfortably, so I don't see too much of a problem.
{Ed002's Note - Danjuma has also been added and other parts of the squad need work.}
5.) 13 Aug 2023 13:03:06
We do love to collect our LW’s Ed.
6.) 13 Aug 2023 13:29:56
Harrison is better than Danjuma and I would rather blood in a permanent signing than a loan. Danjuma's favoured position is LW but he would provide better cover up front than Maupay would.
7.) 13 Aug 2023 14:37:28
He does also play right wing. It gives us options on both side of the pitch. Danjuma looks like he may be a decent CF. He made some intelligent runs yesterday.
8.) 13 Aug 2023 15:32:28
Harrison is on loan isn't he.
9.) 13 Aug 2023 15:37:01
Good teams have good players pushing the starters. Levels raise naturally. Who wouldn't rather have better attacking options than we did last year, even if some of them hinder others by playing in their favoured positions.
Harrison for me would be an upgrade on any player we currently have. He works his bollocks off up and down the wing and is well drilled, whilst offering greater attacking output than what we currently have in wide areas. McNeil isn't anywhere near the same player on the right side. So I wouldn't mind Harrison playing on the right over an Iwobi or a Garner. Both of those players should be competing with the others for spots in the middle of the park. With Garner he could even be played at RB for the season if this is Pattersons level.
Obligation to buy on Harrison would be a fantastic deal for us as I don't think it would take up a loan spot but could be wrong there.
10.) 13 Aug 2023 15:37:12
I read somewhere that Danjuma can play across the line.
11.) 13 Aug 2023 15:59:01
Jack Harrison might be left foot footed but he likes to play on the right hand side so he can cut in.
12.) 13 Aug 2023 16:07:23
Well I didn't see that coming!
13.) 13 Aug 2023 16:15:15
Definitely a massive upgrade to what we have, typical SD player.
14.) 13 Aug 2023 17:17:07
Danjuma right footed likes LW but comfortable across the line. Jack Harrison left footed LW but comfortable on the RW.
15.) 13 Aug 2023 17:28:35
Rumours he’s another Leeds player with a relegation release clause so maybe it’s a permanent deal
Good business either way.
16.) 13 Aug 2023 17:36:58
Never mind gone to Villa!
16 Jun 2021 20:44:08
Now coming out he hasn't been offered the job. my head hurts!
1.) 17 Jun 2021 11:51:23
You and me BJU, I'm sick of reading articles, that contrast the previous one I read. Seem to be going round and round in circles. Does anyone know what is actually going on?
I mean it looked nailed on we were getting Nuno, now it looks like we are getting Rafa, another article saying we are in talks with a return of Martinez, and another still linking us with potter. I think we have been linked with every manager in the history of the game.
Next one will be a return to the premier League for Alex Ferguson.
Glad we aren't just jumping into an appointment, but it sounds as though we don't know who we want.
At least there are managers interested!
COYB.
2.) 17 Jun 2021 17:35:29
The news outlets just keep stirring it all up and you have the News Now click bate website. I need to learn to just go on holiday and chillout for a bit whilst all this goes on and by the time I'm home it's all sorted.
Instead sat here clicking refresh 20 times a second on NN with an ever decreasing bottle of whisky!
05 Oct 2020 12:02:01
It's gone mental with reports Zaha is being negotiated.
Not sure how true this is and I don't think it's possible at all. Let's wait and see.
1.) 05 Oct 2020 12:19:49
Palace have been mentioned as having interest in Walcott too. Our forward options would be exceptional if this were true - fear it may just be lazy journalism.
{Ed002's Note - Walcott is not going to CP.}
2.) 05 Oct 2020 12:34:40
Interesting you're not saying "Zaha is not going to Everton" Ed.
3.) 05 Oct 2020 13:01:52
I can take him or leave him. I'm more interested in a GK option than Zaha.
Apart from that Walcott looks like he may go, bolasie is the one being talked about going to CP and besic to rangers with Kean already gone.
That's some good business if it happens. Can't think of anything more we could have done.
4.) 05 Oct 2020 13:12:31
I really don't see Zaha link being true to not this late in the window!
5.) 05 Oct 2020 13:38:06
Zaha will be with Palace for the rest of his career now unless they get relegated.
6.) 05 Oct 2020 13:57:47
I can't either and not fussed about him at all. A few are reporting we are in for romero from untied now. I'd be very happy with that one though.
{Ed025's Note - he would be my choice john..
7.) 05 Oct 2020 14:28:18
Think Bolasie and Besic would both look good in a Palace shirt ;0)
8.) 05 Oct 2020 14:32:23
I don't see how Saha gets in our starting eleven at the moment. He's a good player but I'd rather any money be spent on a quality GK to compete with JP and some loan CF to give DCL a rest every 5/ 6 games and come on as impact. On a similar note, any whispers on Carlo thoughts on Tosun as he's not had a sniff or mention but with MK going out on loan, maybe this will change? Don't think he's injured and he can certainly finish if supplied.
9.) 05 Oct 2020 14:45:40
Shows how far we’ve come if that’s true. Realistically, one of our front three will either have a knock or need resting most weeks - Zaha would get plenty of game time. Also, James R can play the no.10 with 2 holding midfielders so all 4 could play. He would strengthen the squad, no doubt there. If we can get rid of 4/ 5 squad players, it’s not impossible.
10.) 05 Oct 2020 14:56:21
I agree corner. Tosun is another one who may do a decent job now we have better cohesion up front. We need to give these players a chance with the added quality we've already added.
11.) 05 Oct 2020 15:16:55
Tosun got a bad injury last season while on loan at Palace. He’s still injured as far as I know.
12.) 05 Oct 2020 15:39:55
Tosun out until new year I think, torn ACL.
27 Sep 2020 21:27:32
Spirit of the blues is number 1 in the iTunes chart! I am loving being a blue right now.
Remember when we were rubbish? Seems so long ago!
1.) 28 Sep 2020 17:01:40
Lampard has not improved his squad he bought a striker when they already have giroud abraham and batshaui he has mount and pulisic but then buys havertz and zyech so attack was not a priority its his defence and midflield that need reinforcing .
2.) 28 Sep 2020 17:39:54
Z cars now moving up 😂😂.

With the announcement of Young, Virginia and Begovic leaving it does sound like they've offered Keane, Doucs, Gana and DCL new contacts and we're probably waiting for them to agree or decline.
I'm not sure how I feel about those staying with the exception of Gana. DCL if he was a back up I would probably add to Gana but not as first choice. We need regular starters and scorers if we want to move up the table.
1.) 17 May 2025 17:44:33
I agree to an extent, but we also need a squad capable of performing after a few injuries. They also come without transfer fees. A lot would depend on the wages. Not exciting perhaps, but sensible maybe. I’d still expect Dacoure to leave myself.
25 Mar 2025 21:13:27
It's amazing how many players we are being linked with already. We've got a lot going out but I'm really worried about how many we've got to bring in.
It looks like it could be as many as 6 or 7 and that means the money will be spread thin. The effect of that is the quality will go down.
I'd have been much more hopeful of real squad improvement if we had less players coming in who can add a real leap in quality but I doubt we can do that.
I suppose the other problem of all this is fans expectations. Many will be thinking we're getting top elite players and spending 300m. I'd be surprised if we get anywhere near a quarter of that. It might be a new stadium with a increase in revenue but really we won't feel the benefit for at least another year.
So patience and a bit of perspective is really needed for next year.
1.) 25 Mar 2025 22:25:13
We have a spine that doesn’t need changing. The priorities will be LB, RB, RW, LW and someone to challenge up front. We should be able to pick up 2 loans to cover positions so hoping we have a little money to spend on a handful of signings. I just hope we can get some decent grafters in with a bit of talent.
2.) 26 Mar 2025 03:27:32
It will just be nice to see movements in and out again.
TFG and Moyes are a bit more savvy than what we've been used to over the past few years so hopefully it won't be a scatter gun approach.
Shrewd loan signings, a few promotions from the U21 squad and maybe two or three permanents will be fine this summer.
Richy if he can prove his fitness would be an amazing marque signing and would breathe new life into the squad.
3.) 26 Mar 2025 09:31:46
We will see a lot of movement it looks like DM will have the reigns so I'm not too worried as for positions we will probably be loosing Coleman, DCL, Doucoure, Keane and Young not sure about Begovic, Gueye and Virginia may get resigned for an additional year. Loans returning Harrison, Alcaraz Lindstrom and Broja. That's 11 positions to be filled, will be interesting to see who DM brings in and who if any gets promoted from the U21/ U18's. I would only keep Gueye for an extra year and Alcaraz with Seamus being offered a none playing role at the club.
4.) 26 Mar 2025 09:58:13
It's no surprise that this will be a seismic summer. It's going to be bat shi9 crazy after years of selling off anyone and anything of value. We all know that the final tranche of the high rollers are flipping round to the expiry date of their contracts. I am looking forward to it but I'm already working hard to swerve the click bait loons and then being regurgitated on here as if the rest of us don't have the interwebnet. Guess the best rule has always been "believe it when I see them in the blue at their first presser"
Seems a few on here in recent weeks are trying to push a panicked narrative of fear about the likely ineptness of any business because of what they've heard on Evertonplebs.com or they no longer trust the luck of EFC or somehow think these new owners are plonkers who can only do the same as the previous clown.
I'd wager some of the signings will. be. leftfield others will be unremarkable and some might be infuriating but the cumulative effects will be positive and by Xmas everyone but the die hard anti DMs band will be debating our possible and unlikely attack on the Euro spots. It's time to relax and finally have some optimism. Also this era of opinion pieces and the death of sports journalism must have finally penetrated even the most dense of skulls and it's all a load of tripe or at least 95% of it is and we've all read it so let's try to raise our rumour game eh? It's not even summer but it's going to become unbearable by August considering the direction already.
5.) 26 Mar 2025 13:17:46
SA looks like we are taking the option of keeping Alcaraz permanently .
{Ed025's Note - that works for me Tommo..
6.) 26 Mar 2025 13:37:18
Well we will all be curious as to how different the window will be this summer as it’s the first under new ownership. I’m hoping it’s less cavalier and more measured. At least at the end of it we will know a bit more about our new ownership and what their ambitions are.
{Ed025's Note - for me Ace we know where are weakness,s are, we need to recruit obviously but they dont all have to be world beaters mate, its about improvement and getting players in to fit the proposed system, it may take a couple of windows but i think we all want to see that the club is moving forward..
7.) 26 Mar 2025 14:24:09
Agree with that Ed - look at Bournemouth / Brentford - playing good organised football and that should be initial aim
I do think a striker is top priority.
{Ed025's Note - yeah me too Sobs..
8.) 26 Mar 2025 14:47:51
That’s exactly it Ed. Each window needs to offer us progress up the table. No one window can catapult us up to winning silverware, so measure it in stages and ensure that each window has us moving forward step by step.
{Ed025's Note - i think thats the way to go Ace, slowly slowly catchee monkey is the way forward mate with some shrewd signings and the odd baller..
9.) 26 Mar 2025 23:06:57
Anyonecfancy Grealish on loan.
10.) 27 Mar 2025 19:39:07
I’d leave him alone.
24 Feb 2025 11:00:37
BlueJohnUns has written an article entitled, Everton v Manchester United Review
18 Feb 2025 15:29:08
I don't know about anyone else but I completely underestimated our new stadium.
I thought it was going to good, no great. However, all the flyby's and YouTube posts don't do it any justice. Only 10k in there and that wall of fans looked like they were standing on each other's shoulders.
It's breathtaking and the sheer size of it is immense. There was one of the papers who wrote a piece that sounded like it was out of a best selling novel. How he stood looking out of one of the stands large windows, watching the sun set, bathing the river and magnificent stadium in golden rays. A view that can't be replicated in any stadium in any city. Haha. Honestly, everyone around the football globe is drooling over the new stadium and the location.
So for anyone irked by rival supporters, just take a minute and realise there's nothing to be worried about. We really do have one of the best stadiums in one of the most iconic locations in the whole world and its bloomin beautiful.
Oh and don't worry, those fans who feel a little bit bitter about it, 100% know it too.
This means something again. NSNO.
1.) 18 Feb 2025 18:50:05
Thanks for the report BJU, great to have a Birds Eye view from an Evertonian for those like myself who hope to visit in the future. By the way 85 today, born half a mile from Goodison Park at Mill Road Hospital in 1940.
Mike.
2.) 18 Feb 2025 19:24:17
Happy Birthday Mike, many happy returns.
{Ed025's Note - yeah all the best Mike, have a great day mate..
3.) 18 Feb 2025 19:37:36
Happy Birthday Mike. I was born in Mill Road as well although a few years after you. Hope you've had a great day bud and wait till you try the loaded sausage rolls in there. They'd feed you for a week.
4.) 18 Feb 2025 19:39:15
Well my birthday present will be beating United on Saturday Ed025 mate. Lived in Manchester for four years in the 1970's, couldn't stand them then, can't stand them now. Very few supporters are local, glory seekers many of whom have never been to Old Trafford. Championship best place for them, let's push them down Saturday.
{Ed025's Note - i dont mind Utd actually Mike, they kept our noisy neighbours quiet for 2 decades mate...but i do hope we whack them..
5.) 18 Feb 2025 20:02:52
Not many of us can that we were born in Mill Road Hospital BJU. My birth certificate states that I was born in "Everton a sub-district of Liverpool". Several months after I was born the maternity hospital was hit by German bombs. It was re-opened in 1947 and the closed in 1993. Anyone else born in Mill road?
{Ed025's Note - not me Mike, born in a 2 up 2 down off Earle road mate in 1958, with an outside loo of course.. :)
6.) 18 Feb 2025 21:02:37
Happy birthday Mike you must be a healthy bloke. Old enough to be my great grandad ;p.
7.) 18 Feb 2025 22:47:21
Happy Birthday Mike Sefton General for me in 1958. Don’t know how I ended up there as we lived in the city in Moon Street. Think the university was built on it when they chucked us out.
8.) 19 Feb 2025 08:56:14
85 Mike that’s some going I am 43 and I’d love to get to 85 doubt it with my lifestyle be lucky to make 55 at this rate. If I can give up the fegs who knows I might make it to 85.Happy birthday.
9.) 19 Feb 2025 11:23:02
Give them up Dino, I stopped at 30 and thankful I did. All of my mates who continued to smoke died a long time ago. It's not easy but worth it, you feel a lot better.
10.) 19 Feb 2025 13:25:14
Great info BJU and happy birthday Mike.
There’s also some good footage on YouTube of people who got tickets and filmed the inside. One of the drone guys that I’ve watched as they documented the development over the last 4 years had a good 40 min video.
The stadium looks incredible. Everyone I’ve heard who’s been has said the same as BJU… the drone footage does not do it justice.
16 Feb 2025 11:51:21
I though yesterday was a typical Moyes performance. Short on numbers and a bit of energy after Wednesday but still attacked in numbers but without giving too much away at the back.
Crystal Palace have quite a bit of pace but everytime we've played them, if you play a little bit deep they don't really hurt you. They put loads of balls in the box but it's easy for us with having giant players.
Alcaraz and Beto obviously get the plaudits for yesterday but both still have quite a bit of learning to do. Beto was much better in winning duels and holding the ball up but he still needs to be more in their face.
Alcaraz has composure in abundance and the pass for Beto was perfectly weighted. It is so difficult to over hit them which means it doesn't end in a chance. His goal though was excellent. Coming at him at pace and a short distance, he could have just lashed at it. Instead a firm side foot gave the keeper no chance. He's got a lot to learn though on some of his passing decisions. He gavet.
1.) 16 Feb 2025 12:44:53
He’s 22 and already better than what we have. Just needs to get use to his team mates strengths and weaknesses now.
2.) 16 Feb 2025 13:15:59
My fat fingers. What I was trying to say is that he the ball away in some dangerous positions. However, Moyes will no doubt help him in the area. This is only his first start and he's not quite up to speed yet. That means everyone will need to be patient with him.
05 Feb 2025 20:55:15
He's had to deal with a rather poor legacy of players on excessive wages. The only way to get rid of them was to let the contracts run down because they were average players on really high wages.
He brought players in on lower wages and has made big money some and sold good player due to PSR for good money as well.
Add to it the absent owner, change in managers and a stadium taking funds away from the kitty, he's done a remarkable job.
However, I do think planning and preparation for the January windows have been poor and again the right side never really being tackled and upgraded.
The other thing that none of us will really know is how good is his contacts book is. If the ambition is there to start looking at players of a higher calibre, is he able to do these deals. This will have a big impact on whether they choose us or even sepak to us.
I do like the fella though and his dad's a blue. We'll see what happens in the summer.
One final thing though, this guy doesn't deserve any hate whatsoever. He, like a lot of people at the club have tried to keep us going in such horrendous circumstances. let's give the guy a break.
29 Jul 2024 16:21:04
My wife is a Liverpool fan but I get my own back as she has to live with a miserable bitter blue and my lads are as miserable and bitter as me.
I almost don't want us to ever win!
21 Jul 2024 11:54:07
Thanks Ed.
20 Jul 2024 22:00:44
Ed02, you may know this. If we have a preferred bidder but he wants to allow someone else to join the bid would the exclusivity agreement have end to allow the new party to join the bid and look over the goods?
{Ed002's Note - No. That would be welcome to the seller.}
20 Jul 2024 09:31:16
I doubt administration will happen as there are too many people with money involved in the club. A cap, r&m, Moshiri and now Friedkin, none of these are going to want to lose their money.
Moshiri will no doubt get a buyer just not the deal at what he wants.
On Friedkin, I've heard he done the same thing at Roma, brought in other investors and then bought the club. This could happen with us and reduce his risk as well.
16 May 2025 18:48:51
One thing I would say is, where did he get this bull about him not knowing we were getting a points deduction? We ALL knew it was coming way before it was announced. So him playing the wounded soldier is pure bull.
I'm just glad he's gone and it's over.
15 Apr 2025 19:41:21
Kieran McDowell. He looked like he had something special about him but he just didn't kick on. Not sure how he got on at Birmingham this season.
14 Apr 2025 08:53:05
Dacoure is a nice bloke and clearly loves the clu but he isn't good enough for where we want to be, especially on 130k a week.
He's popped now and again with important goals but in the main he's a headless chicken with the inability to pass to someone 5 yards away from him.
I wish him well but hopefully no longer with us.
13 Apr 2025 14:39:42
Garner was excellent yesterday. I always feel he is underappreciated. He kept the ball moving forward and some of his passing was excellent. We are a completely different team with him in the side.
As for Alcaraz. If he only had a decent striker to work with he'd be even better. We are still learning how he plays but him and Ndiaye are technically our better players.
Dacoure, Beto, Broja, Lindstrom, DCL and Harrison are the ones that need to be moved on.
08 Apr 2025 15:38:14
For the Southampton game it is over £1600 at the moment and going up week by week. Supposedly the waiting list was up to 45k people and I think they only added 3.5k!
I read a report on West Ham season ticket holders and 29k no longer have one and have been replaced by others. I suspect it'll be like that for us as well. Although, their stadium is absolute garbage and not even they like it.
