Jack Harrison close according to Paul Joyce and Bobble.

BlueJohnUns

{Ed002's Note - For the LW collection.}

1.) 13 Aug 2023 12:15:21
We’d surely be bringing him in to play on the right. I don’t think we even have a right winger in the squad after Townsend left.

2.) 13 Aug 2023 12:45:47
Wiki have Jack Harrison as an Everton player someone’s quick sadly they write Everton F c obviously too quick to press the caps key!

3.) 13 Aug 2023 12:53:06
Maybe so Gibbo but his preferred/ best position is on the left, why can't we just sign an actual right winger?

4.) 13 Aug 2023 12:57:37
He is better than any LW we have anyway and comfortably, so I don't see too much of a problem.

{Ed002's Note - Danjuma has also been added and other parts of the squad need work.}

5.) 13 Aug 2023 13:03:06
We do love to collect our LW’s Ed.

6.) 13 Aug 2023 13:29:56
Harrison is better than Danjuma and I would rather blood in a permanent signing than a loan. Danjuma's favoured position is LW but he would provide better cover up front than Maupay would.

7.) 13 Aug 2023 14:37:28
He does also play right wing. It gives us options on both side of the pitch. Danjuma looks like he may be a decent CF. He made some intelligent runs yesterday.

8.) 13 Aug 2023 15:32:28
Harrison is on loan isn't he.

9.) 13 Aug 2023 15:37:01
Good teams have good players pushing the starters. Levels raise naturally. Who wouldn't rather have better attacking options than we did last year, even if some of them hinder others by playing in their favoured positions.

Harrison for me would be an upgrade on any player we currently have. He works his bollocks off up and down the wing and is well drilled, whilst offering greater attacking output than what we currently have in wide areas. McNeil isn't anywhere near the same player on the right side. So I wouldn't mind Harrison playing on the right over an Iwobi or a Garner. Both of those players should be competing with the others for spots in the middle of the park. With Garner he could even be played at RB for the season if this is Pattersons level.

Obligation to buy on Harrison would be a fantastic deal for us as I don't think it would take up a loan spot but could be wrong there.

10.) 13 Aug 2023 15:37:12
I read somewhere that Danjuma can play across the line.

11.) 13 Aug 2023 15:59:01
Jack Harrison might be left foot footed but he likes to play on the right hand side so he can cut in.

12.) 13 Aug 2023 16:07:23
Well I didn't see that coming!

13.) 13 Aug 2023 16:15:15
Definitely a massive upgrade to what we have, typical SD player.

14.) 13 Aug 2023 17:17:07
Danjuma right footed likes LW but comfortable across the line. Jack Harrison left footed LW but comfortable on the RW.

15.) 13 Aug 2023 17:28:35
Rumours he’s another Leeds player with a relegation release clause so maybe it’s a permanent deal
Good business either way.

16.) 13 Aug 2023 17:36:58
Never mind gone to Villa!

You and me BJU, I'm sick of reading articles, that contrast the previous one I read. Seem to be going round and round in circles. Does anyone know what is actually going on?
I mean it looked nailed on we were getting Nuno, now it looks like we are getting Rafa, another article saying we are in talks with a return of Martinez, and another still linking us with potter. I think we have been linked with every manager in the history of the game.
Next one will be a return to the premier League for Alex Ferguson.
Glad we aren't just jumping into an appointment, but it sounds as though we don't know who we want.
At least there are managers interested!

COYB.

The news outlets just keep stirring it all up and you have the News Now click bate website. I need to learn to just go on holiday and chillout for a bit whilst all this goes on and by the time I'm home it's all sorted.

Instead sat here clicking refresh 20 times a second on NN with an ever decreasing bottle of whisky!

It's gone mental with reports Zaha is being negotiated.

Not sure how true this is and I don't think it's possible at all. Let's wait and see.

BlueJohnUns

1.) 05 Oct 2020 12:19:49
Palace have been mentioned as having interest in Walcott too. Our forward options would be exceptional if this were true - fear it may just be lazy journalism.

{Ed002's Note - Walcott is not going to CP.}

2.) 05 Oct 2020 12:34:40
Interesting you're not saying "Zaha is not going to Everton" Ed.

3.) 05 Oct 2020 13:01:52
I can take him or leave him. I'm more interested in a GK option than Zaha.

Apart from that Walcott looks like he may go, bolasie is the one being talked about going to CP and besic to rangers with Kean already gone.

That's some good business if it happens. Can't think of anything more we could have done.

4.) 05 Oct 2020 13:12:31
I really don't see Zaha link being true to not this late in the window!

5.) 05 Oct 2020 13:38:06
Zaha will be with Palace for the rest of his career now unless they get relegated.

6.) 05 Oct 2020 13:57:47
I can't either and not fussed about him at all. A few are reporting we are in for romero from untied now. I'd be very happy with that one though.

{Ed025's Note - he would be my choice john..

7.) 05 Oct 2020 14:28:18
Think Bolasie and Besic would both look good in a Palace shirt ;0)

8.) 05 Oct 2020 14:32:23
I don't see how Saha gets in our starting eleven at the moment. He's a good player but I'd rather any money be spent on a quality GK to compete with JP and some loan CF to give DCL a rest every 5/ 6 games and come on as impact. On a similar note, any whispers on Carlo thoughts on Tosun as he's not had a sniff or mention but with MK going out on loan, maybe this will change? Don't think he's injured and he can certainly finish if supplied.

9.) 05 Oct 2020 14:45:40
Shows how far we’ve come if that’s true. Realistically, one of our front three will either have a knock or need resting most weeks - Zaha would get plenty of game time. Also, James R can play the no.10 with 2 holding midfielders so all 4 could play. He would strengthen the squad, no doubt there. If we can get rid of 4/ 5 squad players, it’s not impossible.

10.) 05 Oct 2020 14:56:21
I agree corner. Tosun is another one who may do a decent job now we have better cohesion up front. We need to give these players a chance with the added quality we've already added.

11.) 05 Oct 2020 15:16:55
Tosun got a bad injury last season while on loan at Palace. He’s still injured as far as I know.

12.) 05 Oct 2020 15:39:55
Tosun out until new year I think, torn ACL.

Lampard has not improved his squad he bought a striker when they already have giroud abraham and batshaui he has mount and pulisic but then buys havertz and zyech so attack was not a priority its his defence and midflield that need reinforcing .

2.) 17 Dec 2019 20:41:39
Bluejohn, He's dynamite mate, just exudes Everton FC and if you don't follow suit, start ducking pal! lol.

3.) 17 Dec 2019 21:26:44
True Blue mate.

4.) 18 Dec 2019 06:33:01
No one is doubting his passion for the club but I’m not convinced he’s managerial material yet. In both Chelsea and Man Utd games we had around 30% possession and were fortunate not to concede more than one. We are still shaky at the back and not setting the world on fire (or even Goodison on fire) up front.

He’s been at the club since 2014 and it would be strange to not attribute some of the issues of the last few seasons with him. Have the last two results been part of the ‘new manager’ effect? He is a step in the right direction compared to Silva but that’s no real accolade to be fair.

It’d be great to see if he can win a few more games but I’m not sold that he is the man for the top job yet.

5.) 18 Dec 2019 08:05:54
He has been in charge for little over a week and has changed a team with no confidence to a team that don't stop fighting for each other. Picked up 4 points along the way with only 30% possession. He can only work with what he has and at the moment there are a few crucial injury problems as well.

6.) 18 Dec 2019 08:45:06
I'd love nothing more than one day dunc become our manager, would be boss! however not yet, also its called new manager bounce when someone comes in and has an immediate affect 8/ 10 it happens as the players get a kick up the arse.

{Ed025's Note - very much so wb..

7.) 18 Dec 2019 14:24:36
I would rather give up possession and get results when needed. One of the issues with Silva and Martinez is that they wanted possession and control all the time. That's why teams would just get back and defend solidly. Sometimes, you have to accept that the other team will have more of the ball. Results over style is important.

However I'm not saying play the SA way. I'm just saying against the bigger teams, we may need to play that way, especially when we are struggling.

8.) 18 Dec 2019 16:30:27
:the guy bleeds blue: Don't we all that's not credentials?

9.) 18 Dec 2019 19:43:45
Although he’s only been manager for a week, he has been working with these players for years as a coach.

10.) 18 Dec 2019 21:49:29
The whole argument of new manager bounce falls flat when you look at Arsenal.

11.) 19 Dec 2019 09:52:49
Tiffa, Some just cannot accept that DF has more to him than just being an avid Evertonian mate.

12.) 19 Dec 2019 10:46:13
thats why i said 8/ 10 mate.

13.) 20 Dec 2019 15:06:01
"Although he’s only been manager for a week, he has been working with these players for years as a coach" And that's when we went downhill.

14.) 20 Dec 2019 18:41:21
Sadly we went downhill after a long period of stability under moyes who took us as far as he could, Martinez, koeman, big sam and silva took us backwards to throw blame at dunc is daft, the players responded to him and put a shift in for him, he will have gained a lot from his caretaker stint, but is not quite ready yet.

15.) 21 Dec 2019 19:56:02
Agreed. Dunc has steadied the ship, restored pride and may even have helped convince Ancelotti that we're not a hopeless case. He's probably learnt loads over the last few weeks which will help him whether he goes elsewhere to be a manager or stays at Goodison to help out.

We saw the limits of 4-4-2 today as well, we looked flat and started passing sideways and were unable to link with the forwards or get decent crosses in. A poor Arsenal were able to get between the lines.

I'd like to see Niasse come on as sub rather than Tosun as well.

16.) 22 Dec 2019 22:53:44
carlo 4 year deal, i'd be happy with dunc then, he seems level headed and still willing to learn.

What a difference Thelwell is making to our transfer strategy.

Bringing in young hungry players like McNeil, Onana and Garner. Then bringing in the right type of experienced players like Tarks, Gana and Coady.

He's then got rid of a lot of poor, aged or declining players on stupid wages like Tosun, Gomes, , alliance, Rondon, Delph, Sig, Allan, Kean, Mina, Davies and Townsend. Don't get me wrong some of thme done okay but let's face none really took us on a level.

He's also got us good money for players like iwobo, gray, cannon, simms, Gordon even Ricky under pressure from the club, bringing in an estimated £150m over the last 2 years and reducing a crippling wage bill.

Excited so far but more still needed this summer and the ones linked do excite. So keep it positive people but it looks like we finally got a DOF that knows what the job is.

He's doing good BJU, but I can't help thinking what Brands could of done if there was no interference from all board members.

2.) 28 Jun 2024 16:34:18
He has also bought a load of tripe.

3.) 28 Jun 2024 19:56:01
Maybe Dentie but he put some players on crazy wages and it's took a while to start shifting them.

Not everyone will be a huge success but the tripe have mainly been loan deals and they are loan deals for a reason.

Actual purchases Skylark Maupay is the one that stands out for me personally. I still think there is a goalscorer in Beto. Whoelse would you say is tripe that we've bought?

4.) 28 Jun 2024 22:24:52
Most of them have been tripe mate.

5.) 28 Jun 2024 22:34:51
Well Delle was a poor signing wasn’t he!

6.) 29 Jun 2024 07:28:29
Who said he wanted these players.

7.) 29 Jun 2024 08:31:51
He didn't sign Delle Swinners. Thelwell joined Feb 22, Delle was Jan 22.

Can someone get Skylark a happy pill please?

His purchased are

Maupay
Beto
Dwight
Onana
Chermitti
Garner
Gana
Young

I'd argue we'd make money on Dwight, Onana, Chermitti and Garner. Obviously Gana we wouldn't due to his age but he was a brilliant signing. Maupay is a bad one but he wasn't a huge outlay and Beto I think with minutes on the pitch would score goals but he just hasn't settled into this team. Young has experience and can play in a few roles. I'm not a massive fan and there have been times he's looked like Joe Biden but as a free there's very little risk. The rest have been loans and that's usually hit and miss.

He's had to do this with a back drop of severe financial restraints. This window has started well and I can't remember us signing 3 players this early before.

8.) 29 Jun 2024 09:07:18
To me that's a terrible list of players mate.

{Ed025's Note - you have to get with the programme Skylark, most of us are in a good place with the things that are happening at the club recently mate, you need to get on board my friend and share the love, turn that frown upside down because for the first time in a long while the smiles are back and its all looking good, if you cant enjoy that then whats the point?..

9.) 29 Jun 2024 11:20:58
Believe it or not I'm a lot happier Ed, but I'm no fan of thelwell and that list of players is terrible.
I will sit on the fence for a while regarding our new owner as I've been let down by the past owners, it's like I've heard it all before
Sorry for being a miserable old sod.

{Ed025's Note - i have been as miserable as anyone Skylark but we have to be forward thinking now i suggest mate, if it all goes tits up then we can always revert to normality but for now lets give the new owners and the staff our backing and see if that positivity shines through, well im going to anyway..

So sad to hear of Kevin Campbell's health. Honestly a lovely top bloke and who always speaks glowongly and fondly of his time with us.

Out of all the former players, he always feels like he's on our side when he talks about Everton.

He truly did get Evertonians and I'm so proud that it was him who was our first black Captain.

I wish for him a speedy recovery and wish his family every bit of strength.

Fat fingers ?.

One hurdle down but a load more still to go. I don't doubt that we will get bought out but I think my preferred option is not likely to get it and that's Textor.

There is a lot of questions. Will whoever take over and will they bring the debt to one place? What will happen with the Goodison Park site and will they continue the project there. This is considerable
As I was saying goodison park and the project there to renovate will also bring in a large amount of regular revenue and add substantial assets to the club. Plus it is the resting place of such a historical period of liverpool, Walton and the community there.

The next question is the owner of the stadium and whether this will stay as part of the club and the estate. What we don't need is an owner taking large portions away from the club to fill their pockets and instead invest back into the club.

Next is, what are their aims and qualities that will revolutionise the club and bring it finally to a modern football world. The stadium is a help but our commercial revenue is poor and our international name has not been exploited. We need people who can improve the brand name and connect it to very different generation of supporters who use social media 24/ 7.

Finally, their vision for the footballing side of the club. Are they going to be happy with the shoots of recovery we are seeing and what seems like, for the first time in a while, everyone pulling in the same direction. Dyche might be marmite as a manager but I think few would disagree he has earned the right to try and move the quality of football on and see if he as well as the team can develop.

Many question and hopefully we'll see soon the candidates to be the new custodians of our great club. I'm hopeful though, and maybe for the first time in 4 or 5 years.

BlueJohnUns

{Ed002's Note - Goodison Park and other assets are security former one of the creditors.}

1.) 01 Jun 2024 18:33:18
Yeah Ed. I think it's with rights and media. My fear is they say keep it to write off the debt. I don't want us to throw that history away and also not continue to support an area that has benefited us for over 100 years.

Fingers crossed whoever takes over understands that.

What a great last couple of games it's been. Going to the March yesterday was such an enjoyable experience. The last few years have been unbearable and the stress i and probably most of you have all felt has taken my ticker to breaking point.

I have no idea how I feel about SD. One minute I hate the football then the next I love the guy again. I do truly feel that if he had the right personal he could improve the football we play. I mean, Ancelotte was labelled with the boring football but has got Real into another final.

So what is it we all want?

I'll be honest and say that at least for the next 2 years we need stability. We can't keep changing managers. It will help with keeping the players we have and help in getting players through the door. More importantly it will help in getting the right buyers.

If we'd have had an average last 3 seasons there would be plenty wanting to take over the club. Stable mid table team. Stable. manager and squad and about to move into a brand new world class stadium. The club has debt but everything else is in place so why not. However, from top to bottom the club has been a mess with only SD a real constant for us.

777 are still favourites to take us over. Josh has gone and they look like bringing in others to steer it steady. I personally don't want them anywhere near us and I'm hoping MSP are the ones to come in. There are others but I don't think any of that is serious.

MSP seem to have our best interest at heart but also seem to have genuine resources to tap into. Not sure about their track record but McLaren in F1 have matured back into grand prix winning contenders after years of failure.

Either way, we're not likely to be signing anyone unless they are free and we'll lose both Jarrad and Onana in the summer along with a host of players out of contract. We have to sell both as we now need to start paying for Beto and are still paying instalments for onana and a few others. That means we'll be looking to our youth team to fill gaps.

There are a few that I think can come into the mix. Chermitti looks like he is maturing into a genuine contender. If DCL doesn't want a new contract we need to sell him but I'm not so worried as I was before. Plus Dobbin and Patterson are a year on. They've both got potential but maybe it's games and a run of them they need.

Anyway one game to go. Could give two hoots about it which is one of the best things SD has done for all of us.

I doubt administration will happen as there are too many people with money involved in the club. A cap, r&m, Moshiri and now Friedkin, none of these are going to want to lose their money.

Moshiri will no doubt get a buyer just not the deal at what he wants.

On Friedkin, I've heard he done the same thing at Roma, brought in other investors and then bought the club. This could happen with us and reduce his risk as well.

By the sounds of it no fee will be due and only a sell on clause. Dele also has agreed a lower wage.

I personally think, now he's shed some enormous baggage that I can't even imagine how he has coped in silence, that we may see a player again.

I'm absolutely able to give him a chance. He was magnificent in his prime and if anyone thinks back to the palace game when we stayed up, it was partly because of him.

I thought Harrison was close to MOTM. He changed the game in the second half.

Football is a funny game. A player can look great one week bad the next. Confidence is hugely important and hopefully. Now we start to move forward.

Let's see where we are COME January. We're 3 points off 10th today. We know Dyce isn't the answer but nothing is changing until at least Jan so we need to keep a cap on our frustration and get us as high up that table by then.

There's not one person out there who can have a go at Dyche for the work he's done over the past 2 years. The work he did last year in keeping us up with all that was going on was a miracle.

However, Thelwell has brought in a more progressive type of player for this season and therefore should have seen him adapt his style, but unfortunately he is not flexible in his style and has no ambition to improve as a manager.

Personally, I don't think Potter has the mental strength to manage a club like Everton. Personally, I think we need someone in the mould of a van gal. Not him obviously, but someone who is big bold, arrogant and has the temperament and broad shoulders to carry the expectations of the club.

Whoever it is, they have a huge exciting job full of reward if they get it right. I can't wait.

I'm going but not holding out for much hope on him changing the team that much.

Doucs and Keane should not be starting in this team and Dixon should stay until pat is fit.

Upfront why play Dom when he is clearly leaving. We need to give beto time on the pitch at least until Chermiti is fit.

Don't want to say this but we should be looking for someone to replace Dyce. I was hoping to see him progress his brand of football but instead it's the same negative style.

Let's not be waiting till January to make the change and instead let's give a new manager real time to make a difference.

Dixon for me has been a big plus. Pacey, likes a fight and battle and not afraid. Still very young but I wouldn't be too bothered if he was cover. Eli is going to be good but I think he's a couple of years away. Really I'd like both out on loan this season playing 30 games in the lower leagues.

If Patterson gets fit I'm happy for him and Myko with Coleman and young as cover this season. Alternatively we bring a right back in and sell Patterson.
