Now coming out he hasn't been offered the job. my head hurts!

1.) 17 Jun 2021 11:51:23
You and me BJU, I'm sick of reading articles, that contrast the previous one I read. Seem to be going round and round in circles. Does anyone know what is actually going on?
I mean it looked nailed on we were getting Nuno, now it looks like we are getting Rafa, another article saying we are in talks with a return of Martinez, and another still linking us with potter. I think we have been linked with every manager in the history of the game.
Next one will be a return to the premier League for Alex Ferguson.
Glad we aren't just jumping into an appointment, but it sounds as though we don't know who we want.
At least there are managers interested!

2.) 17 Jun 2021 17:35:29
The news outlets just keep stirring it all up and you have the News Now click bate website. I need to learn to just go on holiday and chillout for a bit whilst all this goes on and by the time I'm home it's all sorted.

Instead sat here clicking refresh 20 times a second on NN with an ever decreasing bottle of whisky!

05 Oct 2020 12:02:01
It's gone mental with reports Zaha is being negotiated.

Not sure how true this is and I don't think it's possible at all. Let's wait and see.

1.) 05 Oct 2020 12:19:49
Palace have been mentioned as having interest in Walcott too. Our forward options would be exceptional if this were true - fear it may just be lazy journalism.

{Ed002's Note - Walcott is not going to CP.}

2.) 05 Oct 2020 12:34:40
Interesting you're not saying "Zaha is not going to Everton" Ed.

3.) 05 Oct 2020 13:01:52
I can take him or leave him. I'm more interested in a GK option than Zaha.

Apart from that Walcott looks like he may go, bolasie is the one being talked about going to CP and besic to rangers with Kean already gone.

That's some good business if it happens. Can't think of anything more we could have done.

4.) 05 Oct 2020 13:12:31
I really don't see Zaha link being true to not this late in the window!

5.) 05 Oct 2020 13:38:06
Zaha will be with Palace for the rest of his career now unless they get relegated.

6.) 05 Oct 2020 13:57:47
I can't either and not fussed about him at all. A few are reporting we are in for romero from untied now. I'd be very happy with that one though.

{Ed025's Note - he would be my choice john..

7.) 05 Oct 2020 14:28:18
Think Bolasie and Besic would both look good in a Palace shirt ;0)

8.) 05 Oct 2020 14:32:23
I don't see how Saha gets in our starting eleven at the moment. He's a good player but I'd rather any money be spent on a quality GK to compete with JP and some loan CF to give DCL a rest every 5/ 6 games and come on as impact. On a similar note, any whispers on Carlo thoughts on Tosun as he's not had a sniff or mention but with MK going out on loan, maybe this will change? Don't think he's injured and he can certainly finish if supplied.

9.) 05 Oct 2020 14:45:40
Shows how far we’ve come if that’s true. Realistically, one of our front three will either have a knock or need resting most weeks - Zaha would get plenty of game time. Also, James R can play the no.10 with 2 holding midfielders so all 4 could play. He would strengthen the squad, no doubt there. If we can get rid of 4/ 5 squad players, it’s not impossible.

10.) 05 Oct 2020 14:56:21
I agree corner. Tosun is another one who may do a decent job now we have better cohesion up front. We need to give these players a chance with the added quality we've already added.

11.) 05 Oct 2020 15:16:55
Tosun got a bad injury last season while on loan at Palace. He’s still injured as far as I know.

12.) 05 Oct 2020 15:39:55
Tosun out until new year I think, torn ACL.

27 Sep 2020 21:27:32
Spirit of the blues is number 1 in the iTunes chart! I am loving being a blue right now.

Remember when we were rubbish? Seems so long ago!

1.) 28 Sep 2020 17:01:40
Lampard has not improved his squad he bought a striker when they already have giroud abraham and batshaui he has mount and pulisic but then buys havertz and zyech so attack was not a priority its his defence and midflield that need reinforcing .

2.) 28 Sep 2020 17:39:54
Z cars now moving up 😂😂.

17 Dec 2019 18:33:04
Is there anyone left on here who stills questions Big Dunc and credentials?

1.) 17 Dec 2019 19:13:04
How could you, the guy bleeds blue COYB.

2.) 17 Dec 2019 20:41:39
Bluejohn, He's dynamite mate, just exudes Everton FC and if you don't follow suit, start ducking pal! lol.

3.) 17 Dec 2019 21:26:44
True Blue mate.

4.) 18 Dec 2019 06:33:01
No one is doubting his passion for the club but I’m not convinced he’s managerial material yet. In both Chelsea and Man Utd games we had around 30% possession and were fortunate not to concede more than one. We are still shaky at the back and not setting the world on fire (or even Goodison on fire) up front.

He’s been at the club since 2014 and it would be strange to not attribute some of the issues of the last few seasons with him. Have the last two results been part of the ‘new manager’ effect? He is a step in the right direction compared to Silva but that’s no real accolade to be fair.

It’d be great to see if he can win a few more games but I’m not sold that he is the man for the top job yet.

5.) 18 Dec 2019 08:05:54
He has been in charge for little over a week and has changed a team with no confidence to a team that don't stop fighting for each other. Picked up 4 points along the way with only 30% possession. He can only work with what he has and at the moment there are a few crucial injury problems as well.

6.) 18 Dec 2019 08:45:06
I'd love nothing more than one day dunc become our manager, would be boss! however not yet, also its called new manager bounce when someone comes in and has an immediate affect 8/ 10 it happens as the players get a kick up the arse.

{Ed025's Note - very much so wb..

7.) 18 Dec 2019 14:24:36
I would rather give up possession and get results when needed. One of the issues with Silva and Martinez is that they wanted possession and control all the time. That's why teams would just get back and defend solidly. Sometimes, you have to accept that the other team will have more of the ball. Results over style is important.

However I'm not saying play the SA way. I'm just saying against the bigger teams, we may need to play that way, especially when we are struggling.

8.) 18 Dec 2019 16:30:27
:the guy bleeds blue: Don't we all that's not credentials?

9.) 18 Dec 2019 19:43:45
Although he’s only been manager for a week, he has been working with these players for years as a coach.

10.) 18 Dec 2019 21:49:29
The whole argument of new manager bounce falls flat when you look at Arsenal.

11.) 19 Dec 2019 09:52:49
Tiffa, Some just cannot accept that DF has more to him than just being an avid Evertonian mate.

12.) 19 Dec 2019 10:46:13
thats why i said 8/ 10 mate.

13.) 20 Dec 2019 15:06:01
"Although he’s only been manager for a week, he has been working with these players for years as a coach" And that's when we went downhill.

14.) 20 Dec 2019 18:41:21
Sadly we went downhill after a long period of stability under moyes who took us as far as he could, Martinez, koeman, big sam and silva took us backwards to throw blame at dunc is daft, the players responded to him and put a shift in for him, he will have gained a lot from his caretaker stint, but is not quite ready yet.

15.) 21 Dec 2019 19:56:02
Agreed. Dunc has steadied the ship, restored pride and may even have helped convince Ancelotti that we're not a hopeless case. He's probably learnt loads over the last few weeks which will help him whether he goes elsewhere to be a manager or stays at Goodison to help out.

We saw the limits of 4-4-2 today as well, we looked flat and started passing sideways and were unable to link with the forwards or get decent crosses in. A poor Arsenal were able to get between the lines.

I'd like to see Niasse come on as sub rather than Tosun as well.

16.) 22 Dec 2019 22:53:44
carlo 4 year deal, i'd be happy with dunc then, he seems level headed and still willing to learn.

05 Oct 2019 23:39:38
A few weeks again against Sheff utd I saw Silva's reign end. He made rash substitutions and tactical changes. Today just confirmed it.

Those players on the pitch today let the manager down yes but they are letting each other down much more. And ofcourse the fans but I'm looking at this from a professional level first.

Delph and Schnids are either lazy or incompetent. Neither of them moved away from the middle of the park today. They didn't take any chances to get forward and as Silva pointed out, were not brave enough to try and make things happen.

Iwobi was full of running but there were so many times Digne was slow to support him. On the right the chemistry between Seamus and Ricky is none existent.

Upfront DCL is desperate for his no10 to help him. He makes himself available but he's knowhere to be seen. Ricky and Iwobi go looking for him but he's never there. He so individual now it's like he's just playing on his own.

In defense, the intensity of earlier on this season has gone and we've regressed which in set pieces means we are an easy target again.

As much as I want this team to be successful we need a new manager. EVERY player let us down today. EVERY single one of them.

The next manager needs to motivate these players and give them a simple plan. I pray to god we don't make the same mistakes of the past in getting someone like Sam. It has to be a long term vision but I don't hold out any hope they'll be given the right support again and we will simply be in this position in about 12 months time.

Unfortunately, I'll be telling my grandkids about how the city used to have two clubs.

1.) 06 Oct 2019 07:56:31
They are letting us fans down most of all mate.

2.) 06 Oct 2019 12:12:34
They are GB but what should come first to the players should be to each other.

If they play for the manager and each other they become a team. They'll work together to improve. Football is a team sport and no individual can do the role of everyone in it.

They must at all times work for each other.

3.) 06 Oct 2019 20:23:01
Very true John mate good post.

I've moaned on here about how toxic our fans have been and that they have contributed to our decline. Well since Frank has took over and brought those fans together they've proved the point that if you support and back those players through thick and thin we are better than any signing we could ever make.

That last 24 hours have been the best 24 hours I've ever seen any support at any club in the world. Our club is back with a manager that understands the fans and how to being it all together. For us supporters we have to keep this up and back these players and manager. Not just for this season but seasons to come. If we do then this club truly is on its aay back and not just from the brink.

1.) 09 May 2022 01:19:44
Well said BJU

We're a lot better fighting together rather than fighting with each other

2.) 09 May 2022 06:17:33
BW has just described life.

02 May 2022 09:27:47
Great game yesterday. Intelligent game management but so many attributes shown that have been missing all season.

Yeri is so important for our team. He's a leader, pain in the ass for the opposition but I can't remember the last time we had someone who was that motivational. He was in everyone's faces, even his own players try to get everyone wound up. It was infectious because that also kept the tempo up with the crowd. He was brilliant.

Next our fans were unreal, from the 3 hours before the game, well actually 12 hours before the game setting off the early morning alarm at the hotel.

1.) 02 May 2022 11:01:35
We need Mina in the side. When he plays it does not matter who the other center-back is, Keane, Holgate or Branthwaite, they all play better with Mina alongside them. Without Mina any other two playing is a disaster waiting to happen. Definitely an area we need to strengthen next year.

2.) 02 May 2022 11:51:05
Agree BM centreback is definitely an area we need to address next season.
Think whatever money is available in transfer window it’s the area that needs most attention and would rather see the money spent there than on a striker to replace DCL or Ricky if they go.

12 Feb 2022 21:25:15
There is a myth that the players have to get the crowd going. Well today it proved its the other way around.

I've gone on about how we have been contributing to our poor performances and how we need to start being a better support. If the fans perform like that every game we'll never lose.

Every player contributed to a brilliant performance but like most who have mentioned below Iwobi, Keane and Kenny were exceptional. The fact Raphinha went off at half time speaks volumes about Kennys performance. Iwobi though surprised me the most. Closing down, actually dribbling and trying to go past people and, I can't believe I'm about to say this, but a YELLOW card for a slide tackle. He must of won the ball back 2nd only to Beek who was also pure class.

We need to keep it up. We've had too many false dawns but it does feel like things are starting to build. 7 goals in two home games, 8 in total. The Newcastle game for me slipped away because of the two injuries and we got sucked into the emotion of the game. The team though for me look like they have an identity and a common understanding.

So hopefully we are now the fans we should be and the team will start to thrive. Its not just them that have to keep this up its us as well but I think we can all come away with a 10/ 10 today.

1.) 12 Feb 2022 21:57:42
100% agree. The players respond to the fans. I have heard people say the players need to give the fans something to shout about which to a point i agree but i beleive the fans need to give the players something to fight for more. Fans moaning and booing make the players affraid to make a mistake while fans backing and encouraging the players by taking the roof off the place gives the players belief and an extra 10% all over the pitch. Today the fans we absolutly outstanding and it showed on the pitch. It was a joy. let's keep it going win lose or draw. Show why we clain to be thw best fans in the world.

05 Feb 2022 18:34:29
At last a bit of football. Proper football. Just 5 days with this squad teaching them how to pass to each other.

First off the crowd need to understand that sideways passing is necessary to move your opponents out of position and create holes. Not over the top sideways passing but done with a purpose. The confidence by the end of the match was huge compared to what we've seen this season and us playing keep ball helped that develop.

We still had 5 minutes of he old everton after we got the second goal but we soon took control again. Pickford was a bit too excitable and too many were finger pointing but they eventually calmed themselves.

The middle two of gomes and Allan were superb and the football from both of them was probably the best I've seen from either of them over the past 2 seasons. Gomes dictated the play and Allan's ball for Rcky was brilliant. There was no one for me that didn't put in a shift or make a contribution. Even Iwobi goes home with an assist and tosun with a pre.

Tougher test on Tuesday though but if I was Newcastle I'd be worried about facing us now and with Alli and Beek ready to come in plus DCL all of a sudden this is no longer a team but a squad with real threat in the 1st 11 and off the bench.

I can't wait.

1.) 05 Feb 2022 21:56:27
For once I agree with everything you say. Fair play

I mean that because I’m very miserable, not because you’re overly wrong or anything.

2.) 05 Feb 2022 21:59:45
Well it was a different team and a different squad. Everyone in the team played well and were motivated. What a difference, players moving into spaces, actually passing to team mates, being aggressive when not In possession and attacking more than just sitting back and defending. Now for the real test against Newcastle but I am more confident than I ever was with Rafa.

3.) 06 Feb 2022 02:10:05
Remember when Allan arrived. Every pundit going said he was the man the top teams were missing, a Rolls Royce. He’s back. Not dissimilar to when we first had Gomes on loan. Confidence and freedom to play is key in any sport. Regardless of history, circumstance, opinion, Rafa stifled that and our team was lesser than the sum of its parts. We forgot we had some decent players. Crack on lads.

4.) 06 Feb 2022 04:09:17
To all those who have blamed it all on the players I hope you saw how they can ALL play when they are set up right and given a positive attitude and told to take the game to the opposition rather than surrender the initiative.

Rafa v Lampard? It was night and day.

A really good start but let's remember - it was only one game and there will be setbacks along the way but this was good to watch and very encouraging for our future

Let's repeat it Tuesday and really build up our confidence for the rest of the season and the future

5.) 06 Feb 2022 10:38:12
''At last a bit of football. Proper football''

My feelings exactly BlueJohn nice post mate.

6.) 06 Feb 2022 16:41:18
The players have to take some responsibility, bw. It's not just Rafa that they were crap for, there's a long enough list of previous managers they have underperformed for. It's annoying and frustrating that they show they can play once in a while rather than week in week out. I enjoyed the game yesterday, let's hope they continue in this fashion for the remainder of the season now mate.

7.) 06 Feb 2022 23:13:19
BW as you know ninjas one of those blaming the players and even though we played yesterday, there were still signs of poor play. Keane and Holgate fill me with fear when they get the ball.
I will eat humble pie, if we play like this more often.

31 Jan 2022 18:00:46
I've jist watched Moshiris interview and that is what we need from him. Talk to us and show that he is with us. We don't want someone hidden away. Be our leader but be a leader. Don't follow the wolves that circle.

I loved the fact Tim was part of he process and sharp. This is so important as they know us in the stands.

Today has felt like for the first time in years, everyone was together, everyone engaged with each other and understood what their role is with our club. Fingers crossed lessons are being learned.

{Ed025's Note - amen to that john..

1.) 31 Jan 2022 18:29:04
What a difference a day maaaaakes ?.

2.) 31 Jan 2022 18:51:08
Taken him 6 years, let's hope he now takes advice from proper football people.

3.) 31 Jan 2022 22:22:08
Fingers crossed DFS. Its a start but maybe he is starting to get it. Long long way to go though to get us all onside again.

Moyes was our manager and belittled us almost every season and yet plenty still wanted him as manager.

He was 10 times more our enemy than Rafa. And no, I didn't want rafa either but I love being proved wrong, especially when we're winning. Hope he really rubs my nose it and makes me eat my own hat after winning the fa cup and getting us into Europe.

I don't argue with that. However, there isn't one player in the world that has gone 6 months without making mistakes. Some are held against them more than others. Which, is understandable as they tend to be more closely scrutinised if they've gone through a period where they haven't performed and especially if you are the England number 1.

To be fair Ed he has improved in the last 6 months. I always thought his main problem was his composure and mentality rather than actual ability.

However, since having councilling it seems to have done him good and made a difference on the pitch. However, it is only early days and he needs to maintain this level consistently from now on.

It is different playing for England where the chance for the opposition is less frequent compared to playing week in, week out and an improved level of opponent.

{Ed0666's Note - I’m not denying the fella has talent but to say he’s been faultless since February as someone said is just trying to prove a narrative with bunkum. As I said I’ll judge him after this season coming.

Honcho. The comment "he even had one dodgy punch tonight" is almost laughable. You're basing his whole performance on that. Not the saves he makes or his distribution. That's fickle fans for you.

Opinions are fine as long as justified but to just pick out ONE incident out of 90 minutes in an outstanding performance just beggars belief.

Now if you said he performed poorly for the first part of last season and had been on decline for the 12 months before, I'd have taken that as criticism and a valid opinion. You can certainly back that up. But ONE punch, well come on.

?honest to God. You could copy and paste this thread from when this forum started. Loads of people negative saying "why haven't we signed anyone" and the others saying "patience".

Why people stress out is beyond me. What will be will be. Sit back and chill. We will buy and sell players. Some will be happy, some will not.

Thanks Con81. I do try my best. I'd researched extensively the potential that you may have been at the same bar. I done this by cross referencing some of your posts and Monkey Nuts posts and found correlating information that suggested you may have been, in fact, at the same bar. I then eliminated sensible rational thinking, a bit like your posts, saw a quick tickle of the ribs and posted my jokey joke thing.

Just to be clear, this post is also just a jokey joke thing.

I think Frank has changed this now and wanted the players to travel together to both the home and away games. They all got off the coach at the main stand main entrance on Saturday so might be best going there. However, if you get into the ground early they go round and sign autographs and take pictures when warming up.
