Ed's any substance to the Bakayoko rumours? If you asked me to choose between him and Gnonto, I would prefer him.

Friend of mine works for/ with Psv and told me about him a year or so back. Lad is going to be mustard. One of them Tevez types that has the application to go with the talent.

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - Johan Bakayoko (RW) Cost effective solution for PSG but may stuggle to be a starter. Napoli and Burnley have expressed an interest.}

1.) 16 Aug 2023 20:54:23
When you say cost effective Ed, is there a rough figure you can imagine securing him?

Appreciate the info as always!

{Ed002's Note - I don’t want to get in to the money as it causes issues.}

2.) 16 Aug 2023 21:38:33
No problem. Thanks again.

3.) 16 Aug 2023 22:13:08
I'd imagine a cost effective solution for PSG would either be at our up most limit or out of our reach. Saying that, we've not spent much yet.

Think I'd still prefer an out and out striker though.

Any truth in us having interest in Solet Ed's?

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - Oumar Solet (CB) Has struggled for consistency and strugled with nigling muscle injuries and RBS have added the bargain Douglas Mendes from a affiliate club to allow him to move on and kick-start what could be a promising career. if the right offer is made. Seen by Torino as a possible Per Schuurs replacement with Newcastle aslo declaring an interest. On the list if Crystal Palace were to lose Marc Guehi, but that seems to be more likely next summer. Everton and Rennes have spoken with his agents - who have strong ties with Torino.

1.) 06 Aug 2023 15:03:05
Thanks for the info Ed. Is Per Schuurs off to Spurs? If so, he is a great signing. I think his partner Buongiorno is decent as well.

{Ed002's Note - Perr Schuurs (CB) Only signed from Ajax last summer and an enquiry from Spurs was met with a not for sale - but a €40m plus offer would make them listen - a subsequent Spurs offer was well short of that but they could return after losing out on someone else. I doubt any club would value him at half that but Manchester United, and ten Hag knows him well, and Liverpool have sent scouts on a number of occasions. Napoli offer an option as they have him on their lengthy Kim replacement list. Informal offers from Napoli and Liverpool have been turned away and they have been told the asking price, but may well return with better offers. West Ham are keen but want to include a player to reduce the costs. Crystal Palace are concerned that they will lose Marc Guehi and have asked for talks with the club - but the price is seen as high. West Ham offer an unlikely solution.}

Any truth in the Adam Wharton rumours Ed's? Fantastic young player and exactly who we should be signing.

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - I don't know of any approach from Everton at this time and would not know who to ask. Newcastle want him as a squad player.}

1.) 09 Jul 2023 17:57:53
Any updates on players we have a genuine interest in?

{Ed002's Note - Not since lunchtime.}

2.) 09 Jul 2023 19:27:04
Thanks Ed, much appreciated.

Think it would do the lad a disservice to go an be a squad player somewhere. He looks a real talent from when I have seen him. My friend is a Rovers fan and has been singing his praises for the last year now.

03 Jun 2023 19:59:35
Ed's are we actually interested in Beto or just paper nonesense?

I have wanted the lad in for a while now but surely he goes to a better team than us.

If push came to shove between him and Gyokeres, I would prefer him. I imagine he is slightly more expensive?

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - Beto (S) Only joined Udinese in July 2022. Unless a huge offer were made Udinese would not look to sell. Everton has an interest as do Napoli.}

1.) 03 Jun 2023 22:09:29
Cheers Ed. You said recently that Gyokeres is achievable. Is Beto as well or is he out of our price range?

{Ed002's Note - I would think something could be done.}

2.) 03 Jun 2023 23:37:25
Cheers Ed!

Is Tom Cannon eligible for Sunday ?.

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - He is not.}

How about Bobby Ball?

Absolutely made up for Idrissa today! Douc's usually suspect with his first touch and short passing but he's took it lovely to play Gana in, who has taken it even better and into his stride to calmly put it past the keeper.

He gets his fair share of sh** from some Evertonians. All of us know he isn't the player he was the first time around but he has just turned 34. It's no secret he's made some mistakes on the ball that have cost us but I can name multiple other players that have done the same but get nowhere near the same stick. He was the most experienced player on that pitch today, for both teams, maybe with with Pickford due to international level.

Regardless of the mans decline, he is still a very good player. What he offers off the ball and getting it back for us is vital.

I thought Pickford, Tark (bar his mistake) and Jared were top quality today. Glad to see Myko score again and it was a lovely strike that hit the post. He has come on leaps and bounds.

Perhaps the most pleasing thing I saw today, other than watching Idrissa get the winner for us, was when James Garner got booked for a foul on Ayew. For those who haven't seen it, it was a clever challenge to take the yellow and thwart a Palace attack with a couple of minutes to go. He sat Ayew down on his arse and took the ball off him. Then when the ref blew for a foul and a yellow, Jimmy walked past him telling him exactly what he thought of him whilst he was still on the deck. It wasn't dirty, it was just aggressive, physical commitment to the cause. It's exactly the type of thing you want to be seeing from your CM's. He is the epitome of a streetwise and intelligent football player.

That game could have gone any of the three ways and I'm glad we came away with the 3 pts. It was a bit concerning that nothing was changed before they got the equaliser, we all saw their goal coming a mile off. Other than that, its another away win and UTFT!

BlueNose1878

1.) 11 Nov 2023 19:48:01
Agree with that mate. For me it looks like Myko has put some size on. Might be helping him with physicality of Premier league.

2.) 11 Nov 2023 20:39:13
I also thought Young was half decent today.

3.) 11 Nov 2023 21:04:17
Personally, I really like Gana. Who would everyone rather have as our sub CM, him or Tom Davies?

"We can't play 2 in midfield. We will get overrun. "

In the name of Carl Pilkington . "bull! ".

BlueNose1878

1.) 28 Sep 2023 14:17:50
We didn't play 2 in midfield.

2.) 28 Sep 2023 17:03:42
I think BN means centre midfield DFS.

3.) 28 Sep 2023 19:25:07
In my words. One swallow doesn't make a foot.

4.) 29 Sep 2023 15:23:11
As I said to my missus Smit.

5.) 29 Sep 2023 22:12:23
Denti then it was crap! How many do you want in centre mid?

6.) 29 Sep 2023 22:17:22
Woburn, never seen it at my level! Had a mate in my football shower days wanted to play conkers but certainly not a foot.

7.) 30 Sep 2023 07:57:21
DFS we only had Onana and Garner in centre mid against villa. Doucs was playing behind striker. If I'm wrong then I'll hold my hands up, but I got the impression that was out formation.

22 Sep 2023 21:21:46
I fear we get spanked tomorrow and concede 3+ goals. The only way I don't see that happening is if Stone Cold grows a set and approaches the game with some attacking impetus and goes with Beto and DCL up top.

We also need somebody who can retain the ball in the middle and thread the ball through the lines. Garner should come in as the advanced midfielder and then drop either of Doucoure or Onana.

BlueNose1878

1.) 22 Sep 2023 21:36:26
I'd like to see them two up front together but we simply don't have the midfield to cope. We are bad enough with three in the middle, teams still pass through us, so I'd be nervous if we took one of them out for an extra forward for any length of time. It would work if we pressed from the front but, going on the last game, we've even stopped doing that.

2.) 22 Sep 2023 22:12:13
For what they contribute having one of them missing will make no difference. Brentford short on striker options so play three at the back five in middle and two up top. Simple.

3.) 23 Sep 2023 00:33:54
Hope SD has been working on defending short corners this week aswell. Garner and doucoure for me with Garner sitting more because he would be a little terrier in the middle and play decent balls forward either to the 2 forwards or wide men but SD won't change his style what ever that is or formation. i Hope he proves me wrong or we are in big trouble. pity maupay can't play against us but with are luck he would bag a hatrick ?????.

4.) 23 Sep 2023 00:34:11
Spot on Woburn. Fans complain that we can't play 442 because our midfield gets over run. But we get over run with 3 in there, so what's the difference. May aswell have extra striker up top to pump the balls up to. because our midfield can't get them the ball. How come whenever we think we have fixed a pisition, it goes t*ts up. Definitely need a new couple players in midfield. Garner is our best midfield passer, but he's show Dyche his versatility now, so will be right midfield or right back. Square pegs in round holes again.

5.) 23 Sep 2023 05:13:56
The trouble is BP that by playing 3 in the middle we surrender the initiative, play defensively and we just don't have the defense to play 90 minutes without conceding

It will put a lot of pressure on the wing backs playing 442 or 352 but we have put the other team under pressure.

6.) 23 Sep 2023 11:20:54
BW, that's what I mean mate, it wouldn't be a bad option if we pressured the opposition. Going by the Arsenal game at home, we hardly pressed at all and it showed in a shocking performance.
As I said, I'm not opposed to two up top, just our midfield doesn't inspire any confidence for me!
Read that Harrison had 45 minutes the other day and did well. Pity he won't be starting today.

7.) 23 Sep 2023 17:08:58
BP, Just seen the team and Garner on for Danjuma doesn't thrill me

I know we are away from home but Onan, Gueye, Doucore and Garner all in the same team? It's crying out we've only come for a 0-0.

He is out for around 3 weeks with a hip injury not 5 to 7. The question is does he improve us, does he create goals and does he score goals. The answer is yes.

The reality is Villa are a far more attractive proposition than we are but we don’t know what is true and what’s not. It would be very naive of Villa not to know the lad was injured before apparently trying to turn his head. After all the championship has been playing a couple of weeks now.

Hope and pray this is true mate. No secret I’ve been championing this fella for 18 months or so now. The lad is a perfect Everton no9.

Jared, Tark, Onana, Chermiti, Beto. Some big lads to deal with on corners/ fk’s.

Agree gents, many contenders for 2nd but city are still streets ahead imo and can’t see anyone else winning it. KDB or not, they will be fine. Just put Foden, Alvarez, Silva, Grealish in the advanced midfield role and they are still better than most teams options. They will still buy in this window and even if they don’t, they have plenty of depth. Even young McAtee or Palmer are better than most lower club options. Rodri is the best midfielder in the world. The options they have in defence is silly. The fact that most of them can play anywhere across the back line but then also in the midfield positions just as comfortably, makes it even more silly.

They are after paqueta, who although didn’t set the world alight at West Ham, it’s West Ham, with all due respect. A lot less of the ball, a lot more defensive responsibilities to take into consideration and much worse options to interchange with and provide for. Paqueta, much like Kovacic will fit in seamlessly.

I see City winning it with Arsenal closest, which is great because it means Liverpool won’t. If they get Lavia and a cb then they have every chance of winning the league. It’s great that the margins are so small for interest in the title but City are the most talented squad in the league, across all areas for me and still by some way.

What’s with this ‘Keane up top’ crap. It’s so tiresome. He is a donkey and moves slower than one. In what world would he ever be a decent option up top in the PL.

I don’t agree with abuse in the slightest but giving him slack is something I also don’t agree with. He has had ample opportunities and some of those chances at the weekend are literally sunday league level. No confidence whatsoever. Snatched at one with his left foot, rather than his right (makes no sense) . 2 1v1’s, just slot it either corner or twat the thing.

Doucoure is also at great fault for me and I would have bollocked him if I was Dyche at half time. Slide garner in and it’s an open net. Don’t care if he is through and most people score it, it is football and the team is greater than the individual.

Is this because he scored a little flick, unmarked in the 6 yard box against Burton Albion?

Not a chance he scores that type of goal in the Pl, not to mention the lad had a handful more chances in that game and showed poor finishing.

He literally came on for Timber on Sunday and was caught out of position and Palmer scored.

Plenty of better lb options that are actually reliable for me.
