Any truth in the Assignon rumours Eds?

I like this lad. Very physical and loves defending. Can only add to the solidity of last years backline. Good ball carrier as well.

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - Lorenz Assignon (RB) Rejected the chance of a permanent move to Burnley. Marseille have had a number of discussions with Rennes. Galatasaray have a sustained interest but it will be the decision of the new Technical Director after adding Aurier in January. Fulham may offer an option, perhaps Everton.}

1.) 30 Aug 2024 09:47:33
Thanks Ed, appreciated.

29 Aug 2024 12:23:30
Romano saying that there is no buy option for Mangala.

Does that mean that we will have to turn Harrison or Lindstrom into a permanent before the window closes Eds?

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - No.}

1.) 29 Aug 2024 15:17:58
I'll keep saying it chaps

4 loans are allowed

2 max domestically.

like i have been saying!

2.) 29 Aug 2024 15:44:32
So how do loans work again?

3.) 29 Aug 2024 15:45:24
There has been that many different takes on what it is, i have lost track of what is accurate wblue2 hahah, sorry mate.

I thought someone said it was 4 for the season but no more than 2 at the same time.

So if we get Mangala on loan, we still have space for another player on loan. That certainly helps us.

4.) 29 Aug 2024 17:34:16
Given the state of our finances and the dodgy dealings with 777, I doubt anyone at Everton understands loans.

5.) 30 Aug 2024 19:16:33
As wblue said, 2 at a time, 4 in a season is domestic only. FIFA/ uefa rule is currently down to 7 in and 7 out, and reducing to 6 in the next year or 2.
Forest had 5 loans with no obligations in matchday squad Vs us last season.

29 Aug 2024 12:08:13
Maupay to Lyon. Rumoured obligation to buy.

I am starting to like this John Textor more and more.

BlueNose1878

1.) 29 Aug 2024 12:38:07
He’s gone to Marseille mate.

2.) 29 Aug 2024 13:20:29
textor ain't that stupid, haha.

3.) 29 Aug 2024 14:04:14
You mean Kevin Thelwell.

4.) 29 Aug 2024 15:44:57
Either way, good riddance.

5.) 29 Aug 2024 15:46:50
Ahh sorry GB. I read an article that said Lyon. I did think it was strange as all the talk in recent weeks has been for Marseille.

Thought Textor was sorting us out haha.

24 Aug 2024 20:49:47
Not sure on whether it is true or not but it certainly looks to be the case.

Paddy Power have already paid out customers who have bet on us to get relegated.

I already detest these iniquitous scummy betting companies as it is and this should really p*** me off, yet it doesn't.

I can't even blame them.

What a portrayal of where this great club finds itself. A laughing stock amongst anyone outside of it.

BlueNose1878

1.) 24 Aug 2024 22:13:17
DM used to say playing the top 4 away was akin to turning up to a gunfight with a knife. We now mostly turn up armed with a Stephen Hawkins.

2.) 25 Aug 2024 22:22:04
Not sure why a company trying to make a profit would pay out on something that is not odds on and near a conclusion.

That Rios looks a great player. All action midfielder and the low socks on the shin pads.

Ed's, any reason he is available for so cheap and would there be any issues with a work permit?

BlueNose1878

{Ed002's Note - Richard Rios (DM) Wolves, West Ham and Arsenal have sent scouts. Leicester have spoken with Palmeiras but know a Work Permit may be a struggle to get for England, but are looking for potential Ndidi replacements. Real Sociedad considered him a Zubimendi replacement but stepped away. A wildcard would be Getafe, Everton, Chelsea/Strasbourg or Manchester United.}

1.) 03 Aug 2024 12:03:33
Surprised that no bigger clubs are in for him Ed’s.

With regards to the work permit, I know you have said before, the more money put down the more likely a work permit would be granted.

I imagine clubs over here would have to well over the suggested 12 million price.

{Ed002's Note - And premium wages.}

Good to see a sell on clause in both the Onana and Maupay deals, although Maupay's is probably pointless.

We have been found guilty of not being savvy with this type of thing in the past, so good to see the change in approach.

Happy that the Mangala is no obligation. If he does well enough and enjoys his time with us, we will have a chance and go in for him. If he does incredibly well, it will mean we have got the benefits on the pitch. The downside will be better teams will be in for him. If he does terrible, then we aren't tied up into paying a big fee for him.

Everyone is a winner if true.

Now for Holgate to go to Valencia and get a goalscoring mid or striker in.

Over to you Kev.

BlueNose1878

1.) 29 Aug 2024 18:04:51
Looks like Earnest Nuamah could be a goer as well mate 20 yr old, these two or three transfers and as you say Maupay and Holgate out the door excellent window, renewed optimism for sure.

Never usually got any time for Danny Murphy but that piece about the fans at the train station was spot on imo.

Not excusing their behaviour but at the end of the day, the fans are fed up of showing constant support, travelling up and down the country, spending their hard earned money, to see absolute dross performances and getting nothing back.

The players would not be getting any abuse if the effort was being shown. I think it is clear to see that players are not giving 100%, you can see that just from the eye test.

They want all the money, lavish lifestyle but none of the critics. It is the same story with the England camp a month or so back. Fragile mard arses.

I for one like danny murphy. he's extremely fair when he talks about efc. A decent fella in my opinion.

27 Aug 2024 10:23:45
Apparently Moukoko going to Nice. Loan with an obligation to buy at around £12 mill.

Should have been all over this.

Palace getting Nketiah as well. Watch him bag 12-15 goals this season now he is getting consistent game time.

We are so s*** in the market.

BlueNose1878

1.) 27 Aug 2024 12:13:33
Pity we didn't get Moukoko think the lad would have made us a bit of money. Not too fussed about Nketiah, often doesn't look that interested at times. Got enough of those.

2.) 27 Aug 2024 16:06:41
You are right brass, he would have. Still a baby as well.

He is a goal scorer though Brass and would have helped us massively.

I was watching the game today and because there is never anything to watch in terms of footballing ability, I decided to focus on the movement of the players, the body language of players and the intensity levels.

It is no secret to any team that we come up against that we cannot compete with them on a skill or tactical level Not only do they know this, it is apparent our players know it too. It reminds me of playing football as a kid and coming up against the teams who were always struggling in the league. They knew before the whistle even went that they were in for a torrid affair. It is written all over our players faces every game. It is just a case of getting through the 90 minutes, surviving as best as they can and collecting a weeks wage.

Other than Timothy, I didn't see anybody that even looked like they were arsed today or wanted to compete in any way. He must be looking around that team and thinking what a mistake he has made to join this squad of players.

Small positives. Dixon looked better than what we have and he will have much easier weeks than coming up against a left flank of Udogie and Son.

Lindstrom and Ndiaye, although they didn't do anything magical, you could see at least that they can control the ball and look after it when needed - My Lord, i can't believe I am clinging on to a good first touch and being able to retain possession as a positive hahah.

DCL needs to be sold to anyone that will take him or drop him. His ego has turned him into something distasteful. He clearly thinks he is better than this level (he might be) but he is doing absolutely nothing to help the club/ fans out that have stood by him through the darker spells of his career.

It won't happen like but when we get beat by Spuds, I would love Dyche to get the boot and go all out for Mr O'Neil.

Applied himself correctly as a player and seems very competent as a manager.

BlueNose1878

1.) 24 Aug 2024 13:39:37
Gary? Martin?

2.) 24 Aug 2024 14:45:28
I purposefully left it open to interpretation Jase, as clearly both would be better than Dyche hahaha.

3.) 24 Aug 2024 19:06:48
Ha ha, I can't disagree with you BN.

The lad has a lot of question marks against his name but can he strike a football - yes. Has he got good feet - yes. Can he carry the ball and bring others into play - yes. Are we stronger with him in the squad than without him - yes.

The fact that there is an option to buy makes this deal pretty good for us, all things considered.

He is an improvement on what we have GB and looks to be the long term replacement for Idrissa which shows good planning.

Price seems a bit steep for me though. Forest only paid 10m for him and let him go to Lyon for £15ish. If we are paying double that at the end of the loan, seems steep.

If we can get Montiel in to nail down the rb spot and then add a ball playing midfielder who can net a few, we may have a decent go at surviving then.

Seen enough of him at Forest and a little for Belgium in the summer. He is only a loan, which I think suits us best, especially given the price Lyon were asking for.

The only thing we should be worried about Ron is whether he is better than what we have in that cdm position and I think he is.

Idrissa is not getting any younger. Doucoure can't play there. Garner imo is not defensively good enough and is more of an 8 or a 10. Tim is box to box.

He spots danger well. Is good at intercepting the ball by reading the game well. Most importantly and something not many of our players can do, he looks after the ball and retains possession.

All that being said, this is Everton and we seem to make players look a whole lot worse when they put on that blue shirt.

It is a great ground Andy, enjoy it mate. I remember going there when we beat them 3-1. Pienaar, Fellaini and Jelavic scored. We had a much better team then and they had a much worse one haha.

I like Villa as a club and I am happy to see them up there again, I think they are very similar to ourselves.

Hopefully, by some miracle, we manage to get 3 pts.

Have fun mate.

Shouldn’t have got rid of Silva. He cared immensely and wanted to play the right way. He just inherited a sh** side and one that had been drilled by Allardyce previously.

If he had a younger jags and baines, I think things may have been different.

Should have given him more time to get rid of the inherited lazy wage thieving sh** houses e.g schneiderlin, tosun, Walcott.
