Why are most people on here so upbeat? We have made no signings. I watched the pre season video on EFC and these idiots nearly broke a window. Even Moyes called them wallys.

It's been a long time since we had any cause to be optimistic. Have a day off and see what happens, expecting plenty more incoming in the next few weeks. Some will still find plenty to moan about though.

It is the 9th July! We are hardly at the end of the window are we.
Most clubs have done the same amount of business as us, bar a few teams, some even less.
We couldn't start making moves until July 1st and have signed Barry, Alcaraz. We have JB, Gueye and Keane on new contracts.
Not to mention the amount of backroom signings we have made. We were all aware of the amount of incompetence behind the scenes from the previous regimes and now we look to be correcting these mistakes, it still isn't good enough.
The mind truly boggles.
Fair enough, have a moan when we are approaching the start of the season but let them do their jobs first.
LB, RB, RW, CM as the bare minimum are needed and we have a month to sort them out. Then we can fill the squad out with loans and frees if necessary.

I must of missed the part were the club had no financial worries through competing in champions league season after season. No the sarcasm is done with, how do fans think we can just pluck players left, right and centre. We have work to do in signing players as apart from a new stadium, we don't offer European football. So called bigger clubs are nailed on for signings. We aren't. We have 2 players in and have negotiated contract renewals for a few players in 1st team and reserve team. At least we are not just rushing in when signing players. Last time we did that it didn't work out great ie rooney, siggy, klaassen etc. Instead of getting angry on us not having 10 players signed already, just wait and see what happens. I'm 100% sure that we have talks going on behind the scenes with numerous players. Just enjoy the summer and look forward to start of season, I know I am.

Yep, exactly. We’re not dining off the top table. Every signing needs to be able to come into the squad and have an impact. I’m happy with the business done so far, ins and outs. More ins to follow for sure.

Let's turn the question around. Why are some of our fans so pessimistic? We have tied down the players that we want on new deals, maybe not so much MK but that frees up cash for other positions, we got CA signed up pretty sharpish, we have a new forward on the books and it is only the 9th July. We had to wait until June was over to avoid falling foul of psr rules.
If you want our new owners to splash the cash and go down the Moshirir route then I guarantee that you will be one of the first in here moaning that our board is incompetent.
As someone else said, enjoy the summer and wait and see what else comes our way, without reacting to the silly season rumours that seem to follow our club. Some of you need to chill, the constant griping over anything and everything is very tedious.

I don't think it helps that we have been linked to around 150 players already. Some fans must think that's genuine lol. Reporters need to sell stories and us fans fall for it. We were linked to a few strikers and I believe it was only delap that was made public by us. Then out the blue we go sign a player we never heard of. Trust thr process, get the BBQ out, have a beer and chill lol.

Got to be honest, I have felt crap at this time of year for the last (must be at least) four years.
I’m genuinely optimistic for this season and reckon we might actually surprise people a bit.
I’m not being a berk and thinking CL qualification, but I ‘m going to pin my colours to the mast ans say we finish 8th this season.
Optimistic yes, but who are you if you don’t have a bit of hope.

Well we can't all follow trend abs do whatever one club does. Arsenal are based around 350 miles away (based on the stadiums anyway) , it's a whole different situation between Liverpool and any other club that isn't us. If it is true that the club are holding back for this reason, I stand behind them fully.

From what I know, Arsenal have had people in their recruitment roles for at least one year whilst we have appointed a handful of new staff less than a month ago. We are a little behind because of it but signings will come. If they don’t, we’ll have no choice but to blood the youngsters and give them a chance. We’ve a decent spine; just need some right sided players and someone who can score goals regularly.
