Ed you mentioned on another post that you'd come back to the question around the midfielder we were looking at? Does it happen to be tesserman or is it someone else like Lesley ugo from Chelsea? Or is it someone completely different.
{Ed002's Note - Wilfred Ndidi (DM) LNo.
Leander Dendoncker (DM/CM) Napoli are not interested in paying the €10M option and he will return to Aston Villa to be sold on. Everton may still offer an option to replace Onana.
Lesley Ugochukwu (DM/CM) Chelsea are open to letting the player go on loan to get game time and improve his fitness. They would ideally like a move to a Premier League club but will want a guarantee of game time. There have been enquiries from Ipswich, Everton and Fulham.
Tanner Tessmann (DM) A move to Inter MIlan from Venezia has been agreed. They will look to an initial loan and have spoken with his agent about other interested sides. This offers up Feyenoord, Ipswich and Everton. There could be a Work Permit probem in England.
Arthur Melo (DM/CM) Fiorentina are not interested in a permanent deal. Will be available for €15M with Everton a possible destination to replace Onana. Don't be surprised if this happens. Newcastle offer a less likely solution.
Kalvin Phillips (DM/CM) No.
Weston McKennie (CM/DM) Could look to a part exchange as his agent is hawking him around English and German sides without much luck. Everton or Newcastle could be interested at perhaps €20M depending on sales. MLS perhaps.
Florentino Luis (DM) Scouts continue to watch Benfica but they have no interest in selling Florentino Luis unless his buy out clause is met and the player wants to leave - although realistically they would perhaps accept €40M. Seen previously by Barcelona as a potential Busquets replacement, but they opted for Oriol Romeu - interest may remain. His sale would also be dependent on whether Joao Neves is sold. Interest of Everton to take him on loan has been rejected out of hand by Benfica butr they could look to a lowball offer. Aston Villa are talking to his agent about taking him . Leicester consider him an Ndidi replacement.
Emiliano Martinez (DM) The Uruguayan plays for Midtjylland but has attracted interest from several clubs including Marseille who have held talks with his club and have been granted permission to speak to the player who they consider a suitable replacement for Matteo Guendouzi. Everton enquired after the player with his agents, and it could only be as an Onana replacement, given they have Garner as well. Unless paying over the odds it will be difficult to get a Work Permit to play in England. Basel offer an option with Xhaka and Frei now well in to their 30s. Player has said he wants to play in Italy. Can be forgotten.
Amir Richardson (CM/DM) Seen by Everton as an Onana replacement and Leicester as a potential Ndidi replacement.

Great info ED002, as always. Thanks!
{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}
2.) 16 Jul 2024 10:51:00
Wow thanks for all this Ed. So reading through it all it looks like Arthur Melo is most likely? I don’t really know enough about him, he barley kicked a ball over the park when they had him.
{Ed002's Note - I cannot answer most likely but there is certainly interest.}
3.) 16 Jul 2024 12:56:21
Interesting read. Melo was highly regarded for a time and seems to have lost his way a bit.
29 Jun 2024 13:56:49
Ed I'm seeing lots of other teams linked to minteh, have we completely walked away now? He seemed to favour a move to us but all links gone very quiet. I saw we were linked with the kid from hull, are we targeting two wingers in this window?
{Ed002's Note - Yankuba Minteh (RW) Left footed RW will perhaps get another loan at Feyenoord after a very good season. Arne Slot was impressed by him but following him to Liverpool, except as cover, would be a huge step up. Lyon had a ridiculous €40M offer accepted but the player is not interested. Everton, Marseille, Dortmund, Brighton and Roma offer options although Everton see the cost as far too high and are unwilling to get involved with a straight swap for Calvert-Lewin. Marseille would like to include Matteo Guendouzi in any deal.
Everton have an interest in two Hull youngsters.}
1.) 29 Jun 2024 15:19:27
Reading that DCL can’t agree terms with Newcastle at the mo, and he is also linked with West Ham and Brentford, Newcastle keen to do do a deal still got time.
2.) 29 Jun 2024 16:46:12
Which 2 Hull youngsters?
3.) 29 Jun 2024 17:08:59
Hopefully Greaves and Philogene Pighead ???.
4.) 29 Jun 2024 17:21:57
Spot on mocker think its about time everton looked into the championship and league 1 i think if braithwaite does leave i would like see greaves from hull or ronnie edwards from Peterborough as his replacement in my opinion.
5.) 29 Jun 2024 18:27:38
Yep Andy I'd go along with that pal, the young lad at Peterborough Ronnie not seen enough of him to say could step straight up, but by all reports a solid performer and 1 for future with slow bed in.
Philogene saw a bit of him and Greaves watching Championship games, both are great players, Philogene oozes class. Definitely excited about the youth we are looking at, just get them over the line please, obvious to say mate but the Stadium is a huge selling point to any young player, imagine just starting out thinking that could be home ground for next decade. Definitely slot more upbeat Andy lad, just hope Sean gets the chance to prove what a good manager he really is.
6.) 29 Jun 2024 20:04:45
Kept saying we would find gems in-the lower leagues.
7.) 29 Jun 2024 22:31:03
No doubting or ever doubted they weren't GB, but at present we ain't got any of them in.
8.) 01 Jul 2024 08:25:54
No disrespect to Feynoord and Dutch football but it’s a big leap to performing in Holland top flight and being able to perform to EPL level and consistently as we have all seen top players from Europe have come to PL and failed who have been proven players that huge potential on his shoulders and Newcastle’s valuation of player IMO he has a lot of pressure on him before his career in England has really started. And the Media will be ready to slaughter this young lad if he can’t adjust to Life in England and PL IMO think at the fee NUFC wanted we have dodged a bullet if the fee was a lot lower& even rising with add ons ie performance, goals, assists etc than would of said let’s take a gamble as the young lad from Hull City available for approx £15m and I really like that Wilifred Gnoto from Leeds both young quick wingers with a lot of ability and a eye for goal and ability to create chances and can both switch wings and give us more options tactically in final 3rd initial lay out probably looking at approx £25m and then performance related add ons in there respective deals.
24 Jun 2024 19:56:01
Eds, can you give us an update on Calvert lewin and potential incomings?
{Ed002's Note - At present Everton have priced him out of a move to Newcastle - they could return with a better offer. Wildcard would be MIlan if Zrkzee heads elsewhere.
Iliman Ndiaye (S/W/AM) Versatile forward who only joined Marseille in the summer of 2023 - but the goals have completely dried up. Everton have enquired after a loan with an option to buy, but the player wants to stay in Marseille, although they are keen to sell him and want their €20M back but will reluctantly accept slightly less - aligning with what they will be spending on his replacement.
Tammy Abraham (S) With JM departed then it is likely TA will as well. Brentford see him as a potential Toney replacement and Aston Villa will almost certainly provide an option. Spurs may turn to him if they lose out on their first choice. Wildcard would be Everton but it would require UEFA oversight and payments spread over a longer period. Will need to prove his fitness after a terrible injury. Roma may offer him back to Chelsea in exchange for Lukaku.}
1.) 25 Jun 2024 08:51:25
Thank you Ed that’s great. Are we likely to target a winger?
{Ed002's Note - If DCL stays the Ndiaye can play on the wing. Others looked at:
Yankuba Minteh (RW) Left footed RW will perhaps get another loan at Feyenoord after a very good season. Arne Slot was impressed by him but following him to Liverpool, except as cover, would be a huge step up. Everton and Roma offer options but the price is too high for Everton.
Alex Matos (CM/AM/RW) Having had a very good loan to Huddersfield and has been attracting scouts from Everton - who are also tracking another Huddersfield player, Lille, Fortuna Düsseldorf and PSV at the behest of an ex Chelsea player. Chelsea will likely look to another loan rather than a sale with Bayer Leverkusen keen.
Assane Diao (LW/RW) Interest gone.
Much is still down to departures and has been eased by Jack Harrison.}
2.) 25 Jun 2024 15:32:36
That’s great Ed thank you. Hopefully a strong squad at the end of the summer, a very good start already. Add a winger, another centre mid (ndidi) and a forward and only lose Calvert Lewin I think sets us up nicely for a comfortable season and we can then start to build for next year.
22 Jun 2024 16:09:35
Eds, any truth in the DCL and minteh rumours?
{Ed002's Note - Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) The second player tapped up by Steven Gerrard. The summer will be a decision point for the player who will be another the club are willing to sell in order to raise funds to avoid a third charge. Newcastle, Brentford and West Ham offer options with Newcastle pressing to sign him to replace Callum Wilson. Manchester United offer a wildcard option.
20 Jun 2024 13:36:34
Hi Eds, any truth in the Ndiaye rumours? A player I would love at Everton but not sure he would interested in coming to Everton.
{Ed002's Note - Iliman Ndiaye (S/W/AM) Versatile forward who only joined Marseille in the summer of 2023 - but the goals have completely dried up. Everton have enquired after a loan and Crystal Palace think they can get more out of him but the player wants to stay in Marseille.}

If what I'm reading is true and turns out to happen, we've done well. Selling Calvert lewin who let's remember went 20 games without a goal and I've never seen him score a great goal, some good headers but not a top class forward, if we were to sell him and dobbin and bring in minteh from Newcastle and Harrison and have Harrison on his natural left side, Mcniel in the ten and Minteh on the right and get the adebayo or Abraham upfront sorry but I think it's a much better team with players in more natural positions. I know the Ed's are saying we don't play attractive football but I don't Dyche will be the man for the first game at Bramley Moore he will get this year whilst Friedkin understands what needs to be done.
1.) 22 Jun 2024 16:28:32
Good post mate some very shrewd moves going on at the Club, looking forward to this window I can see we will have a very different Team for the start of the coming season, exciting times.
2.) 22 Jun 2024 17:45:44
Couldn't agree more mate. I am yet to see him curl a ball or lace one. I am not even sure if he can. Great in the air but he needs a partner. Him and Isak could work like magic but we don't have the players to get the best out of him.
Would rather have Harrison battle it out for the left wing with McNeil tbh. That will make both of their levels go up.
Then we can go and get a player who can play in tight spaces, is comfortable going either way and has a decent bit of vision e. g. Hamer from Sheff.
3.) 22 Jun 2024 18:40:08
Minteh seems a good player looks like we have a chance to get him, this is the start of big turn around in our Team, can’t come quick enough.
4.) 22 Jun 2024 23:24:16
My pal who is a Leeds fan said harrison played were he wanted across the pitch and wasn't a left or right winger ???????? because i said he was s. t on the right.
31 Jan 2023 08:21:29
Is it just me or does this feel like panic stations and just cannot see a player coming in today, let alone the two or three we need! I'd love to be wrong but there seems to be no credible links at all.
1.) 31 Jan 2023 08:43:12
No need to panic mate, just sit back and see what happens.
2.) 31 Jan 2023 10:38:39
We do need players but we needed a better manager more. And we got one.
Id be gutted, and surprised, if we didn't strengthen the squad at all though. But i'd be very worried if FL was still here.
01 Sep 2022 15:16:27
Any chance of a forward player joining today, or is it just gueye and garner? I'm really hoping we pull a forward out the bag or someone else but it's looking exceptionally quiet for us!
1.) 01 Sep 2022 16:06:53
Have Gueye and Garner signed?
2.) 01 Sep 2022 16:49:55
Gueye has just been announced.
3.) 01 Sep 2022 16:52:47
Gueye hopefully, garner hopefully not, pure waste, or just swap him with that guy we got as a right attacking midfielder, he's that useless, don't even remember his name, more importantly, hope mills doesn't give up on us?.
4.) 01 Sep 2022 18:27:10
Why not see how he does Birkenhead? Then again that wouldn’t suit your agenda of continually moaning about the club and certain players.
I for one am happy with the Garner signing, did really well at forest last season and fits the profile of younger players with sell on value we seem to be moving towards.
30 Aug 2022 16:57:09
So how many players can we expect to be joining us on Thursday then? As nothing looks like it'll be done today or tomorrow! I'm hoping for three, gueye, garner/ kudus and maybe a forward but can also see us only getting gueye. Have you heard anything at all Ed?
{Ed025's Note - no mate its all still up in the air, gueye looks a shoe in but the rest is a guessing game, so much speculation and it looks like a deadline day melee to me mate..
1.) 30 Aug 2022 20:12:22
I love a deadline day melee me Ed.
{Ed025's Note - I’m like Jesse March ace. I keep looking at my watch.. ?
2.) 30 Aug 2022 20:55:34
It won’t just be Rodrigo with a sore arm if he carries on sticking it up in the air.
25 Aug 2022 22:10:53
Ed025 I guess with maupay now in advanced talks that signals that Gordon will be staying? I'm not sure how I feel about this, I feel like 60 million is too much to turn down for him. He needs to up his game or we are going to end up with another Barkley where he goes a window later for half the money is my concern!
{Ed025's Note - I would bite Chelsea,s arm off and take the money BT. Things can change in an instant though mate..
1.) 26 Aug 2022 07:56:54
Just my personal opinion I don’t think he moves now. Chelsea offered us the deal on Tuesday and ever since it’s been beyond silent on that deal. I think if he was being sold maupay wouldn’t have been coming. Unless the plan is we are going big somewhere but I just can’t see it. Maupay is a tidy little footballer, getting slated when he has a similar output to Richarlison, just want one more forward and believe the forward line will be alright if Gordon stays, if he goes we need 1 for sure maybe even two. Just hope we pull off gueye and garner/ kudus.
2.) 26 Aug 2022 07:59:13
I'm leaning towards Gordon staying due to this deal but if Chelsea offered 60 mill and the terms of payments where acceptable then I would drive him to London myself it's too much money to turn down and I would still buy Maupay and then get another striker in.
3.) 26 Aug 2022 08:16:28
I’m quite shocked by this but will support Maupay if he signs and puts on the blue shirt, he’s obviously better than Rondon. My prediction is he’ll become a problem and will upset the dressing room, the blokes middle name is agg. I still understand why we’re signing him, we need a striker.
4.) 26 Aug 2022 10:08:16
Frank has come out and said no such offer of £60m was received for Gordon.
5.) 26 Aug 2022 13:23:08
Just make sure it's the one holding the money and grab it quick.
31 Jul 2024 16:14:47
Ed what other forwards are we considering? Are we going to do anything about gerrard tapping DCL up?
{Ed002's Note -
Jesper Lindstrom (AM/LW/RW), Jack Harrison (RW), Iliman Ndiaye (S/W/AM) have been agreed.
Others look at:
Yankuba Minteh (RW) No.
Jaden Philogene (LW) No.
Assane Diao (LW/RW) No.
Ramon Sosa (LW/RW) BlueCo are looking to authorise the payment of the player's €18.5M termination clause and move the player to Strasbourg. If it works well he may get a future move to Chelsea. LA Galaxy, Everton, Nottingham Forest and LA Galaxy sent scouts with Nottingham Forest making a low bid.
Sammie Szmodics (S) Will move this summer. Wants to move to West Ham but it is Galatasaray who were first to declare an interest. Possible Calvert-Lewin replacement for Everton. Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds offer options. Could possibly get his desired move.
Winsley Boteli (S) No.
Tammy Abraham (S) With JM departed then it is likely TA will as well. Brentford see him as a potential Toney replacement and Aston Villa will almost certainly provide an option. Spurs may turn to him if they lose out on their first choice. Juventus and Milan may see him as an option and Milan would be attractive to the player. Wildcard would be Everton as a Calvert-Lewin replacement, but it would require UEFA oversight and payments spread over a longer period. Will need to prove his fitness after a terrible injury. Roma may offer him back to Chelsea.
Armando Broja (S) Is available with considerable interest. Loan to Fulham failed although Chelsea were paid £4M. Southampton, Leicester, West Ham or Wolves may look to an offer but Monaco offer a far more attractive option although they think they can sign their preferred option. Everton have asked for an initial loan but Chelsea want to sell and Everton need to be careful with money - although if Calvert Lewin and Beto were to depart adding Broja and Iliman Ndiaye would not be unreasonable - but it will all be about money. Milan are after two strikers and are looking at Broja. Bologna see Broja as a potential Zirkzee replacement and an option to Vangelis Pavlidis and a couple of others they are considering.
Arkadiusz Milik (S) High wages, a few injuries, 30 and the goals have dried up mean the journeyman player can be moved on. Agent has offered the player to Everton, Brentford and West Ham. Genoa offer him the chance to stay in Italy. Nice offer a very unlikely solution.
Matheus Saldanha (S) Journeyman striker playing with Partizan Belgrade. Everton and Celtic have sent scouts – a Work Permit may prove to be a problem for Everton.
Nothing will be said about Gerrard.}
16 Jul 2024 22:33:05
Ed you made a comment gone unnoticed, Sean at least not to England. Are you expecting Dyche to be moved on?
{Ed025's Note - i really dont know BT but i think he probably deserves a chance to see if he can elevate this team in the near future, if things dont go well early doors though i can see him being replaced to be honest, these new owners will want to see results and with the investment put in who can blame them?, if things dont go well by Christmas I can see a Santa syndrome and him possibly getting the sack..
01 Jul 2024 14:00:53
Ed you mention about the sanctioning of funds from loans, is this going to restrict us making further signings in the window?
{Ed025's Note - im not certain about that BT but Thelwell will have a good idea of what he can spend mate, i think...or hope that the new regime will be more frugal with the funds and keep within PSR but of course that will tally up with who goes out the door..
25 Jun 2024 15:32:36
That’s great Ed thank you. Hopefully a strong squad at the end of the summer, a very good start already. Add a winger, another centre mid (ndidi) and a forward and only lose Calvert Lewin I think sets us up nicely for a comfortable season and we can then start to build for next year.

Chelsea will likely look to another loan rather than a sale with Bayer Leverkusen keen.

26 Aug 2022 07:56:54

01 Jul 2022 12:34:15
I never said he’s what we want. But he gave his all for us when it mattered the most and didn’t shy away. If you think Richarlison is world class you’re mistaken, if he was world class he wouldn’t be going to Tottenham. I’ll say it again Lukaku was harder to replace. I don’t get why you’re spinning the alli vibe no one has mentioned him. And again, without alli we don’t bear palace, instead of being so negative why don’t you try and look positively at what’s happening. We need to build and it’s the right way to do it, if we kept Richarlison another season he had a year to go and we’d have got next to nothing for him. I hope when alli and iwobi perform well next season in games, and they score and everyone celebrates around you that you stay seated considering you clearly don’t support them. The club matters more but back every player make them feel loved and they’ll give you 10% more.
01 Jul 2022 11:36:28
Iwobi no assists or goals? Okay so that 1-0 win against Newcastle when it mattered most who scored? The win against Leicester who crosses the ball? Iwobi was massive for us in the run in, I never rated him but he gave his all for the club in the last few months, and right now he’s our player so let’s back what we’ve got eh?
01 Jul 2022 11:01:44
There might be, but they’ll want 25 million and I don’t think we should be spending that on him. Better going after Lewis potter but doubt we get him now. I’ll be honest I don’t know who I want, I’d take dennis from Watford very similar to Richarlison and matched his goals with no pens and stopped playing after Watford were stupid with him about the afcon, I like zinchenko believe he’d offer us something we don’t have. I do NOT want winks but let’s see. I’d take lingard (if the rumours are true) he will get us goals but stupid wages AGAIN. I think Patterson and Mykolenko will be impressive for us this year. For me it’s about getting the centre of midfield right. If we can sell mina and Gomes get 250 a week in wages gone and 10/ 15 mill in transfer fees in we’ve done well. Mina barely plays, Tarkowski in his place a captain will help. Gomes never plays ever and davies coming back who’s only 24 hopefully lampard gets him playing he has a very similar skill set to Gilmour who lampard likes so let’s see. I’m hoping Thelwell looks in Portugal. Marcus edwards looks a player. And then madueke and gakpo both in Holland look good but I’d be wary of that market never worked out for us before!
01 Jul 2022 10:13:24
We need to avoid McNeil at all costs, most shots lost season without a goal, no assists most crosses. He is not the man unfortunately. We need to go after a right sided player and let Gordon play in his natural position. For me alli and iwobi will be sufficient in the advanced midfielder role. Iwobi was probably more influential in the last 10 games than Richarlison, everyone is saying he scored 6 in 9 to keep us up but 3 of them were penalties and not one of them he won himself. Don’t get me wrong I love the kid think he’s amazing but he’s not on the levels lukaku was for us, arteta or even pienaar for that matter. Players come and go the club will still be there. We sold Rooney and ended up in Europe the following year so who knows what’s around the corner. A fully fit Dom will replace Richarlisons goals from last season and actually over us a presence up front where Richarlison never seemed fully comfortable for us.
