Interesting, Delap visits house No37 Goodison Rd and signs the wall. (video on X) . Is this a hint for things to come?
While we are at it can we ask Brighton if they would like to sell Encisco please.
1.) 04 May 2025 12:34:43
Hope moyesys watching the old firm today watch raskin get him bought.
2.) 04 May 2025 16:11:27
I'd be happy with delap, richarlison and Tom fellows, for me that would be all the front 3 covered as well as what we have .
Not sure about the rest of the team yet.
3.) 04 May 2025 18:54:41
Just wondering why anyone would want Richarlison back?
He was great for us, however since he left he’s been plagued by injuries and shown nowhere near the levels he did for us. He’d also want decent wages to come back and Spurs wouldn’t let him go for cheap.
Very rarely works bringing back former players, I wish him well but wouldn’t want the club spending a chunk of the transfer budget on him to bring him back.
If a loan was available then that would probably be the sensible option if we were indeed wanting him back.
4.) 04 May 2025 23:05:28
I reckon Delap will end up in London somewhere.
If we had the Richy of old, I’d bite your hand off but I think he’s past that and could be more of a burden.
Levy won’t sanction a loan unless loan to buy (for stupid amount) so can’t see that happening Gingerdan. Reckon Fellows is the only goer out of deals mentioned so far.
5.) 04 May 2025 23:07:00
Maybe because of the fact that he scores goals and is a talented footballer. Not taking into account that he is head an shoulders above the likes of McNeil and Harrison or that he loves the club and is guaranteed to give his all for the shirt.
He bagged 11 goals for Spurs last season in approx. 1400 minutes. That is roughly the same numbers he hit for us but about 1000 minutes less game time.
Granted he hasn't had the best luck with injuries but he still has 4 goals in 470 minutes this season.
If you get him fit, he scores.
I personally couldn't care less if we have him back or not tbh but you wondered why and I think the reasons are fairly obvious. He unequivocally imrpoves us.
6.) 05 May 2025 07:20:28
Good account of Ricky BN.
7.) 05 May 2025 08:07:36
Spurs play him as a 9, I don't think he is a 9. I agree, get him fit, keep him fit. I don't see what the fuss is with Delap.
8.) 05 May 2025 10:25:04
There is something to be said that their whole team has been decimated by injuries this season and that is probably down to the way the manager wants them to play or are they ALL just injury prone like Richy.
9.) 05 May 2025 11:38:54
Brazil play him as a 9 too but I agree he's best on the left. Arrrgggghhhh I've bitten on another Rikky post. See you in 3 days when this repeats over and over and over.
10.) 05 May 2025 12:20:53
Richy will be fit as a fiddle nxt season as he will want his place back for brazil amazing how players are fit when major tournaments are coming up. worth a punt if the contract is right for us I reckon.
11.) 05 May 2025 12:37:35
Strange how players find injuries when they’re not happy with the manager. We’ve had a few.
12.) 05 May 2025 20:04:10
Yep inclined to agree I think players who are happy tend not to get injured as often.
13.) 05 May 2025 23:17:51
Great reply BN, just about covers everything Richie related pal!
I would take him on loan for next season to see if he can overcome his injury problems before shelling out cash on him. He improves the squad without doubt and also the starting eleven so it's a gamble I wouldn't moan about personally.
04 Feb 2025 10:50:33
Think Thelwell has done his job in helping balance the books. But like Dyche maybe he has reached his limit, and so at the end of this season it would be a good time to say thanks and adios.
Bring in a new DOF, one that Moyes can work with. Because that is the key, both have to have the same vision for the club.
Who knows if Thelwell did have players lined up to sign, but they were players Moyes deemed not good enough? If that was the case then that's a red flag right there.
Time will tell I guess.
1.) 04 Feb 2025 12:42:45
Can someone please explain to me why Thelwell is so disapproved? As far as I can tell from what i've seen and read over the past few years, its the utilisation of the players he's brought in that's been the problem, not the recruitment itself? Am I under a hypnotic illusion that I think he's actually not done that bad a job?
2.) 04 Feb 2025 12:53:02
Probably a good time for a change with bringing in the new era, there will be talk of Dan Ashworth as a contender to replace him as he’s available
And after their chat before the Brighton game and his history with Moyes it’s likely David Weir will be linked.
3.) 04 Feb 2025 13:20:55
I'm not sure how anyone can say weather there'll has or hasn't done his job, he probably had a list of players dyche wanted and then Moyes arrives and will have his own player he wants , personally 1 player in is 1 more than I thought,
4.) 04 Feb 2025 13:23:10
I will be surprised if Thelwell is given a contract extension BB. It is more likely that the new owners will want there own man in. The big question is "when will the change be made"? Better for the club if it is now so the new person can work with Moyes to get ready for the big rebuild in the summer.
5.) 04 Feb 2025 15:06:41
I don’t get the hate for Thelwell - personally feel he’s done well given the circumstances around the club, psr, managers, meddling owner.
He hasn’t got all his deals right, but if he’s as bad as some are making out then how are his signings playing so well for us since Moyes took over?
Lindstrom, Gueye, Tarkowski, Beto, O’Brien, Ndiaye, Garner all signed by him and all played well the other day.
He also signed Mangala, McNeil and Young who have all performed well for us.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he is given a new contract, particularly if he develops a good working relationship with Moyes.
6.) 04 Feb 2025 15:09:50
I am of the same mindset BlueMike, I won’t pretend to know all the ins and outs of what Thelwell’s job is but I would imagine now the window is shut a big part is identifying targets for the next window and beyond and ensuring the scouting network are supplying the updates and briefs
And also working on contract renewals for players we want to keep
So getting a new man in or at least identifying one would be key right now so we are not playing catch up in the summer when we need the rebuild and a good preseason to bed players in.
7.) 04 Feb 2025 15:28:02
Agree BM, but think they might leave it a little while yet. I mean why pay the guy off when his contract runs out in the summer. They could still line someone up now and plan for the new season.
Skirbs, he resigned Harrison that's enough.
8.) 04 Feb 2025 16:53:09
Dan it's not hate mate. Don't know why people think if you are not happy with someone then you hate them.
9.) 04 Feb 2025 16:56:29
Well I am not one of the ones who hate Thelwell, I just don't really know if we could have done better with all of the money spent or who (as BB states) made the decision for example to take Harrison on for another season. Regardless his contract is up at the end of the season so either he should be given an extension or if he is to go then it should be soon to give the new guy plenty of time to work with Moyes on the squad for next season.
What I would like to see as I have said previously, is for a full review of our scouting setup and for it to be improved. I don't really see too many youngsters (Armstrong aside) coming through the ranks and that has to be a big part of any future business model.
10.) 04 Feb 2025 17:43:06
BB - Agree if you don’t like something it’s not necessary that you hate it. My comment regards hate towards him was mainly to do with the posts on X (Twitter) where he’s getting pelters and clearly hate from quite a few accounts. In here it’s mainly ambivalence towards him.
11.) 04 Feb 2025 20:18:47
Get KT out the club, no compensation! And we will free up funds in the summer. It’s simples.
12.) 04 Feb 2025 21:06:03
Nobody deserves hate or abuse on any form of social media GD
I feel he has done well with one arm tied behind his back and I do feel he has improved the team but I do think it is time to change, maybe it’s a little unfair on him but it’s just my opinion.
13.) 04 Feb 2025 21:07:32
It’s difficult to know exactly what Thelwell does. We’ve had some good signings recently and he’s been dealing with offloading players on high wages that were not his doing.
I would have liked us to not resign Harrison and Young but to find other players who fit the bill of being hungry and upcoming. The thing that worries me is how we go about our business and why other teams seem to find hidden gems and we struggle to. Looking for after the days we found Cahill, Coleman and the like. If Thelwell has unearthed a gem in Alcaraz then I’ll happily eat my hat but we often seem inept at buying in players.
That’s my take on it. Are there better people at the job or there and available in the summer? If so, should we look to upgrade?
14.) 05 Feb 2025 02:40:17
Ndieye obrien.
15.) 05 Feb 2025 08:04:49
I think I owe Thelwell an apology, he has had his hands tied and hss got us out of a mess left by previous employees so hats off to him, but I can't forgive him for Mopee Maupay.
16.) 05 Feb 2025 08:22:55
If people don't fully understand the PSR then how can anyone have an informed knowledge (not opinion) of what the DOF remit and budgets he's had to work are, then how can anyone judge if KT has done a good or not so good job? Every club buys a player or more who doesn't hit the mark. I think he's probably had the hardest DOF job in Europe for the duration. Think he's done lots of unflattering donkey work that's helped us massively. Not sure you can slate someone when you have little to no idea if their job. I'd wager he's worked his socks off and nobody will really ever know. It seems he'll run his deal down and leave otherwise surely he'd already have signed up an extension. I aim zero negativity at KT. It's been proven in 5 minutes a manager with some modicum of ambition Vs someone who's absolutely fearful of the job, can turn under achievement into relative success and make flops into satisfactory players. This is FM and a raft or poor managers fault we are where we are/ were.
17.) 05 Feb 2025 12:44:18
Look FBS, nobody at Everton has done a good job, look at where we are in the table, until Moyes can in we had three wins. Everyone is to blame, the owner, board, DOF, manager and players. The big question is how are we going to move forward, we have a new owner, a new stadium and a new manager, so can Moyes and Thelwell work together to give us a better squad, if so give Thelwell an extension to his contract, if not get in someone who can work with Moyes. I really believe this will be Moyes choice.
18.) 05 Feb 2025 16:31:47
I'm with fbs. Psr has improved massively under thelwell. Harrison and young were free transfers, might have been a case of them or nothing. The team has already shown in 4 games it's way better than dyche could get out of them. Re transfers maybe thelwell didn't bring many in from abroad as dyche wanted prem experience. Just look at O'brien since he left. I do think however, thelwell either needs to be given a new contract or come out and say he will leave at the end of the season.
19.) 05 Feb 2025 20:55:15
He's had to deal with a rather poor legacy of players on excessive wages. The only way to get rid of them was to let the contracts run down because they were average players on really high wages.
He brought players in on lower wages and has made big money some and sold good player due to PSR for good money as well.
Add to it the absent owner, change in managers and a stadium taking funds away from the kitty, he's done a remarkable job.
However, I do think planning and preparation for the January windows have been poor and again the right side never really being tackled and upgraded.
The other thing that none of us will really know is how good is his contacts book is. If the ambition is there to start looking at players of a higher calibre, is he able to do these deals. This will have a big impact on whether they choose us or even sepak to us.
I do like the fella though and his dad's a blue. We'll see what happens in the summer.
One final thing though, this guy doesn't deserve any hate whatsoever. He, like a lot of people at the club have tried to keep us going in such horrendous circumstances. let's give the guy a break.
20.) 05 Feb 2025 21:45:12
This is possibly one. of the best threads on this site for some time.
21.) 05 Feb 2025 22:56:57
Has KT done a good job or not who knows there have been some very good signings and some very poor signings has been responsible for them all or only some? We know that the owner and some of the previous managers have hampered Brands has KT had similar problems? On balance in my opinion he has done an okay job and if he was to get a new contract then that would be fine by me. Its up to the owners anyway so not matter what we think they will make the decision and that will be that.
22.) 06 Feb 2025 17:07:57
I have read some Utter junk on this thread, please explain why you want him out, not rubbish you've read on some click bait or what your grannies half sister s mum told them, I can't see what you think anyone could of done in the circumstances, most of you can only come up with Harrison is that it, you don't think that the next man in the hot seat won't get a couple transfers wrong, your living in a dream world, Moyes has shown the players he's brought in are good enough . don't forget we had no money, so no big time Charlie was ever going to walk threw the door and help us climb the league.
23.) 06 Feb 2025 19:17:37
I just wonder if there is someone better for the job pasty. He’s done what he can with limited resources. Do we stick with him or twist now we might have some money?
Maupay, Danjuma and Harrison are the ones who haven’t shone brightly. Jury is out on Lindstrom. Can’t tell with Alcaraz as he hasn’t played yet. Think the majority of my frustration is on the players we haven’t signed. We’ve needed a right midfielder and full backs for a while and it’s not been sorted. Add to that the striker/ forward issue that has plagued us for seasons.
I’m not saying get rid of him - I’m questioning whether there is someone better connected out there….
04 Feb 2025 10:41:43
I now live in the Derbyshire Dales having left Liverpool some thirty odd years ago. All my neighbours are Derby fanatics, so i am already getting bombarded with phone calls as to who this Harrison Armstrong kid is. I have simply said they will love him.
I have been to a few Derby games and to be fair the atmosphere is superb. Might attend a few more now one of our own is playing.
Derby are very similar to us in a way. Poor management from the top, League crapping on them at every opportunity and struggling at the wrong end of the table.
In fact if I was going looking to buy a football club then they would be near the top of my list. New modern ground, a great history and very loyal fans.
Come on Harrison!
1.) 04 Feb 2025 12:40:36
Been to Pride Park a few times and iv always found it impressive.
From what iv seen of Armstrong, he should excel in the championship.
03 Feb 2025 18:26:55
Sky saying no Tom Fellows deal, and no more incomings after Alcaraz. Bugger.
29 Jan 2025 08:30:39
Can someone enlighten me please. All this talk about Chelsea only taking Broja back if we pay his wages in full. Well surely we have insurance on the player, so where's the problem in doing this. Or am I missing something here.
1.) 29 Jan 2025 09:53:22
Perhaps they want us to keep him so we can't loan anyone else? Why would they do us any favours? Who knows BB - we'll all find out in 6 days time where we stand. The best position would be minus Broja, Beto, Harrison and Dacoure in the squad, and with 3/ 4 additions.
2.) 29 Jan 2025 09:55:02
One of the eds has explained that Chelsea won't have a problem because that will allow them to loan another player out so in theory getting another player off the pay roll as Broja will be covered with insurance as you say.
3.) 29 Jan 2025 10:18:44
One can dream JB - I almost got teary reading that mate.
I think we need to disregard what the journos THINK that they know about this Broja deal. It makes no sense to keep him at us whilst he is injured. There is definitely a player, most likely KDH, that they can shift out instead. Moyes wanted him at West Ham and we need additions in the middle, even more so now that Mangala is out for the season. KDH makes perfect sense as he can play a whole host of positions if needed.
I think we will see a lot of movement as the clock ticks down. Both selling and buying teams keep their cards close to their chest, especially in the Jan window.
I have a feeling we will get 3 or 4 in before the window shuts. I just hope that they are in areas that we need them and are actually a clear improvement on what we have.
4.) 29 Jan 2025 10:55:10
I agree BN, best not to read too much into the reports, they’re just trying to create content from very little fact usually. Also think there’ll be a lot of business over the next few days, so many teams short and underperforming.
5.) 29 Jan 2025 12:19:17
As the clock ticks down and they scream DEAL SHEETS IN AT EVERTON
As Thelwell wakes up from hibernation to realise we need some players signed!

Everton U18s 3 Liverpool U18s 0
Their doesn't that make you feel a little bit better?
1.) 04 May 2025 12:37:35
Not unless some of them get a chance in the first team Brass. No money in the U18 or U21s. If we want to be a club who competes again, we need to start bringing young players through.
2.) 04 May 2025 13:55:24
Braiden Graham should surely be given a look at in pre season. Scored a lot of goals in U18 and U21. He's a striker but got most his goals playing no10 role. I like the look of Beaumont-Clark too. Looks a quick, tricky winger.
04 May 2025 10:55:03
Went with a few of my mates to watch Derby yesterday (all mad Derby fans around here) . Have to say went with one eye on young Armstrong, but thoroughly enjoyed the game as well. For a nil nil it was very entertaining.
The referees allow a lot more contact in the Championship, so you see a lot less rolling around on the floor and the game moves quicker because of it.
As for Armstrong, hard to believe he is just 18. He was playing a holding midfield position and was the most calm player on the pitch. Strong on and off the ball, constantly wanting the ball and moving it forward at every opportunity. Ending with another MOM performance.
The Derby fans love him and are praying we let them have him for another season.
Personally I think this would be a big mistake as the lad looks ready now to step up. Has to be given a pre season to show what he can do.
Oh and Derby stayed up so the beers were flowing in the local and I got the piss taken out of me for our lot blowing a two goal lead.
1.) 04 May 2025 12:39:41
Let’s hope he comes back and gets in and around the first team. We will need someone with a calm head next season and can break down attacks and get the ball forward.
2.) 04 May 2025 18:15:09
He is definitely ready for the first team next season. He runs the game and it's hard to believe just how young he is.
He needs good people around him to keep him focused and in the real world.
03 May 2025 17:24:28
Let's be honest how many thought here we go again once they got one back?
2-0 up dominating the game, they get one back and we stop playing.
Second half it was like they had been told to sit back and hit them on the break.
First half we looked really good going forward, second half we looked clueless. Same players different attitude.
1.) 03 May 2025 17:58:00
Me, proper everton that.
Far too many rubbishbags in this squad. Good riddance to them come end of the season.
2.) 03 May 2025 18:05:37
Don’t just need new players we need a different attitude and mentality to how we approach games.
Can’t keep regurgitating the same crap season after season.
3.) 03 May 2025 18:41:58
Season is over for most of them and there thinking of there holidays.
{Ed025's Note - i think you are right Penysarn..
4.) 03 May 2025 19:11:53
Thought Beto played well today. Even when isolated up front he was chasing back to try win the ball. Actually bust a lung to get ball back from half way line, the passed it and powered forward to try get in goalscoring position. Garner was all over the pitch trying to win ball back. Alcaraz played well. O'brien and Branthwaite refused to be bullied when Ipswich players were trying to rough them up. Still about 6-8 quality players short of challenging in top half next season.
5.) 03 May 2025 20:06:56
They sat on 17pts for what seemed like months and now have 22? A purple patch almost so I wasn't expecting the roll over we all hoped and expect of Saints. A couple of worldies are always impossible to predict and flattered the match as a whole. Am I surprised a team that's been pi$$ poor for 3 or more years struggled? I was happy to see what is considered our best ballers all on the pitch for the first time together. McNeill, Garner, Alcs, Ndiaye but they probably all needed to play most of the season together to be in sync. I think we lose that game with the previous fragility mind set especially at home and the previous toxicity that would consume the place with their 1st goal. Disappointed from a weekend point of view as it's always nice to win but it wasn't embarrassing it wasn't haphazard and it was ultimately a little experimental and we are what we are. Safe with a dozen games to go. Luxurious by recent standards. If we could pack it in today we all would and get stuck into the rebuild. I'm not going to be snarling and spitting flames like I was at Xmas and most weekends for the 2 years prior. Also I'm sure most Ipswich players are performing at the moment as they're all in the shop window killing it to get a Prem club move this summer.
01 May 2025 12:39:57
So we have the second oldest team in the Prem, but we are looking to sign Ndidi who is 30?
Have tried to block Goodison News and all it's boll*cks but failed, any youngsters out there know how?
1.) 01 May 2025 12:45:37
30 would bring our average age down.
2.) 01 May 2025 13:00:07
Why would we want to sign Ndidi for £9m when he was available on a free last year but chose to re-sign for Leicester and has now been relegated with them?
Would mark this rumour as nonsense.
3.) 01 May 2025 14:47:19
Glad we missed him wasn’t that good anyway.
4.) 01 May 2025 15:17:55
I find not opening Everton rumours and Goodison news stuff works fine. No special trick. Also if the headline says "could, should, maybe, ex coach says one thing about, will" I don't touch those links. Pretty easy to spot the click bait if you take a second before blasting the mouse button opening everything to be disappointed that they've pulled your pants down and regurgitated an old opinion piece and just jumbled it about trying to make out it's some latest news. If it's not a national paper, Everton official, Talk sport, echo or sky, then junk it. Those sources aren't always right either of course.
5.) 01 May 2025 15:38:47
He's 28.
6.) 01 May 2025 18:02:51
He also has European experience. International experience. Over 8 seasons in the PL and has actually won a trophy or 2. Can’t say the same for most of our team and he is comfortably better than all of our midfield options in that position imo.
Mad some of the players some people turn their nose up at, especially given how diabolical ours is ?.
7.) 01 May 2025 18:29:34
Looks like DCL is struggling to find anyone who will match his demands so after basically ignoring us all season his agents now want to talk. Given his injury and scoring records he can just go and do one as far as I'm concerned.
8.) 01 May 2025 18:52:31
Yes I agree.
9.) 01 May 2025 23:20:17
BN - whilst he has all that experience, I’d still like to know why we’d go back in for him when he turned us down last season when he was available on a free and now would cost us a rumoured £9m?
10.) 02 May 2025 00:07:26
Why would anyone sign for us last summer? We were a sh*t show with dyche at the helm! Not many intheir right mind would want to sign for a club and play anti-football.
11.) 02 May 2025 08:42:22
You really don’t understand footballers do you. They play for money, they don’t give a toss where you are in the league, who the manager is or what your ambitions are.
It’s all about the money.
12.) 02 May 2025 09:45:15
What a ridiculous comment, woburn. Of course some players are only interested in cash but not all players are the same. Some will not want to play for someone like dyche because of his style of play and his style of management. I'm sure we would have offered Ndidi more than Leicester did so why did he stay at Leicester? Maybe some players have a sense of loyalty rather than your sweeping generalisation of every pro footballer? Maybe you don't understand football?
13.) 02 May 2025 09:57:44
Gibbs white and elanga chose forest over us because of dyceball and more did the same I'm sure.
14.) 02 May 2025 13:44:27
Your sure are you? Ndidi used us as a bargaining chip to get a better deal out of Leicester. We were never in for Ginns White or Elanga.
Look at how both Chelsea and Man City changed once wealthy owners came in. And Salah, 300k per week. Loves Liverpool? No he had them over a barrel, pay up or I go.
15.) 02 May 2025 14:14:08
I do recall we was but I'm not going to argue about it. is Ivan Toney going cheap yet because he isn't in it for the money is he ???? like you say BMD Money talks very few give a toss about the club or fans but we are still here. And least we still have maupay to comeback ?????.
17 Apr 2025 09:40:41
See the rugby league game with Australia is already sold out. New stadium already generating additional income. At last there is a bit of light at the end of the tunnel.
1.) 17 Apr 2025 15:04:00
Once up and running BMD is gunna be a winner, would like the owners to get an NFL game up there, concerts etc. England men will play at Wembley but good to get the Women playing at our place as well. Good for the club, Brand and income.
2.) 17 Apr 2025 17:32:43
An NFL game would be awesome, and would save me some serious cash. It's a good shout but I think it's highly unlikely unfortunately, London seems to have that sewn up but with the new ownership you never know
Go Giants! :- (.

Never quite sure about any player from the Turkish leagues. Tosun springs to mind.
09 May 2025 07:46:00
Well if Leeds are offering that kind of money then take it. Thought he would end up going for about 10m so grab it and run.

Didn't people say the same about Dyche when he was in charge? 'He sees O'Brien in training every day so he knows what he is doing" Mmmm.

If City wanted Branthwaite then would ask for Delap but not as a loan. Swap plus cash let's see just how badly they want him.

Mmm? Think I remember people saying this about quite a few previous managers.
Fact is many of these players have had four/ five year contracts, and during that time all they have achieved is just about keeping us in the Premiership.
So resigning them even on reduced wages is not in my view moving the club forward.
Let's be honest out of the three loan players we brought in are any really worth keeping?
I only hope our new owners are looking to be more ambitious than some of our fans, who to be fair have had so much crap thrown at them over these past few years that they are starting to get use to the taste.

Then that's very worrying Ed. Fed up with this oh he's good in the dressing room crap. I want them good on the pitch.
He is too old too slow, and taking the space of younger players. I mean we are not even looking at him as a starter anymore, so get in another full back, and let him go.
{Ed025's Note - we would all like new players for various positions Brass but the reality is we wont mate, we need to see who else we keep really before we start tearing our hair out, obviously he needs to be replaced...but so do a lot of others..

Can only hope this is someone's idea of a windup.
{Ed025's Note - i dont think it is Brass..

They could potentially reduce the size of the ground by closing the upper tier stands. Think the support will increase because fans will still want to visit Goodison even if it's just for the memories.

MK has always been a better striker than a defender for us, The Royal Iris turned quicker than him.
