Ed02 there is so many that claim to be in the know, but they’re not…you are the only one Ib trust… is Gordon staying or going?

BrettAngel

{Ed002's Note - Nobody knows - Everton were asking for another player who Chelsea had offered in part exchange but thought about it too long and that is not an option.}

1.) 25 Aug 2022 22:09:47
Who was the player Ed?

{Ed002's Note - Gilmour. We have been through all of this.}

02 Jul 2021 13:05:17
Looks like James is off then. does anyone care?

BrettAngel

1.) 02 Jul 2021 13:38:54
He was a good player, really good signing, but injuries and lack of pace and energy mean he won’t be missed.

2.) 02 Jul 2021 16:08:47
I’ve read that it’s far from done as at the moment his wage demands are way to high.

3.) 02 Jul 2021 16:54:33
He needs to be in a team that can carry a player like that and we are not at that level so it's best he moves on.

4.) 02 Jul 2021 21:59:27
Is he so good that we pay roughly 250k per game? No way Rafa!

5.) 02 Jul 2021 22:33:53
If he leaves, and we also get a buyer for Bernard, I would happily swap places for an incoming Coutinho.

{Ed025's Note - i dont bignev, the last thing we need right now is another show pony mate..

6.) 02 Jul 2021 23:01:01
So swap out James for Coutinho. Who is just as injury prone but not as good, but will be on much higher wages.

{Ed0666's Note - James better than Couts. ‘The drugs don’t work they just make it worse’

7.) 02 Jul 2021 23:40:08
I get he played for Liverpool the reds have a love in with every ex player (rather like us) like Coady better than Mina, Kent better than Richarlison, Solanke better than DCL etc

But yeah, James is better than Coutinho, he manages to run games by himself in a crap team, Coutinho has yet to do that.

{Ed0666's Note - run a game maybe. Coutinho is a stud when he turns it on. You’ll be blessed to have him mate.

8.) 02 Jul 2021 23:45:27
Just read James is going to quit with Rafa in place. What does that mean? How can he quit again after he already quit in the spring?

{Ed0666's Note - maybe he has Ancelotti-itis?

9.) 03 Jul 2021 07:31:53
A paper in Columbia ran a story basically telling James now is the time to stay at Everton and not run because he doesn't get the kiddy glove treatment from a manager.

25 Jun 2021 23:51:34
I think the prolonged delay in making the appointment is a ploy. seeing more and more people saying that they’ve had enough now and just want them to get it sorted so we can prepare for the season.
Seems the anger has subsided and everyone has accepted the inevitable.
I suppose we do what we normally do and get behind the club - even though I was (am) dead against Rafa.

BrettAngel

1.) 26 Jun 2021 00:55:34
I don't think its a ploy at all. Not everyone is against rafa being manager. I think its more to do with getting the best manager we can for the club right now. My opinion is that rafa is the right manager for us right now. There are stubborn people who refuse to take the blue tinted glasses off and would rather cut off their nose to bite their face but each to their own.

2.) 26 Jun 2021 01:37:13
No people haven’t just “accepted it”, plenty of people still outraged by it and will continue to be.

3.) 26 Jun 2021 01:54:39
And that just shows what kind of fans we have. He has not had a game yet some simple minded fans right him off. did lfc fans spit there dummy out like some of our so called fans when nick barmby left us for them no or did we with beardsley . Get a grip and look at the bigger picture. Its pathetic how so called fans would rather us go for how or dyche over rafa. Take your head for a whobble and get a grip. If you want one over pool bow about support him and when he wins US trophies rub it their face. Their so called massiah wanta to manage US.

4.) 26 Jun 2021 02:06:06
I think most of them people u speak about are pool fans, every one i speak to are happy to have rafa.

5.) 26 Jun 2021 05:18:50
And nearly every one I speak to outside of this site doesn’t want him, it’s all dependent on who you speak to

People are allowed to not want him

Some people don’t want him simply because they think he’s finished as a top manager, in fact, every person I’ve spoken to who doesn’t want him, have said they don’t think he’ll be a good appointment, it has very little to nothing to do with him being an ex red.

{Ed0666's Note - Newcastle fans would walk over cracked glass to have him back. I would say that both clubs are similar in scenario as in their sleeping giants and need a experienced coach to give them a push to the next level. I think Rafa would be an excellent choice to do this. The difference is the geordies are realistic and don’t have ideas of grandiose

6.) 26 Jun 2021 06:03:15
To suggest that the expectations of Evertonians and Geordies should be similar, is baffling, one owner spends, the other doesn’t, one has had a successful history, the other hasn’t, one has been flirting with Europe for years, the other hasn’t. We don’t expect the league or the champions league, we just want a team that tries hard and competes for Europe regularly, that’s it, we just want to be exactly like Leicester are, maybe a not that good, but there or there abouts in terms of how they are run.

Newcastle fans are pretty happy with 15th every season so long as their team puts a shift in. I can’t fault them for that, they aren’t a big club, or a sleeping giant. Just an okay club with a great fanbase.

7.) 26 Jun 2021 06:12:38
Worth noting on Rafa, I’m not Rafa in or out or whatever. I’ve come to terms with it, I’ll get behind the man. One of the worst things when Martinez was in charge was Liverpool fans singing his name when they smashed us 4-0 (again) . But there’s Liverpool and Newcastle fans saying “why wouldn’t you want Rafa? He’s great”, that speaks volumes and does give me a little bit of hope that it might work out. He’s going uphill in ice skates, but here’s hoping for the best. Duncan Ferguson made a good point in an interview (about Allardyce) when he said “someone trying their best to get Everton results and being booed off the pitch, that’s not Everton”. I hope people take a lesson from that, booing Rafa on day one or during games won’t do us any favours. Neither will personal insults on banners. If you don’t like his appointment and want to protest against the board, fine, there’s ways to go about that. But actively wanting the team to suffer (in some cases) just so he gets sacked quicker will only damage us more long term.

{Ed025's Note - i agree swan mate..

8.) 26 Jun 2021 08:14:33
baffles me when people try to compare Newcastle to Everton as Swan pointed out they are not a big club and have never been one they are a one city club with a decent fanbase but they are not a sleeping giant and are nothing more than a yo yo club and you say they don't have ideas of grandiose have you actually spoken to Newcastle fans they genuinely believe they are massive and should be challenging for the champions league while comparing themselves to Liverpool fans for atmosphere because they believe everything sky sports say and we all know sky like to make out anfield is the only ground with an atmosphere they are a laughable fanbase who scream they can't sell the away end at Goodison out because the game was played on a tues night their fans are a myth just like our neighbours.

9.) 26 Jun 2021 08:35:56
Swan 117 wind your neck in. Newcastle have actually played in the group stage of the CL Everton haven't.

10.) 26 Jun 2021 08:52:22
Brankwymoordock Liverpool are a bigger club than Everton and that's a FACT Another FACT is Newcastle have actually played in the group stages of the CL and Everton haven't.

11.) 26 Jun 2021 10:27:40
Rudder, wind your neck in 😂😂😂 funny you mate, he's a swan 😎 but his opinions actually mostly make sense.

12.) 26 Jun 2021 12:09:28
Rudder, steer yourself back to the lfc page mate, you are adding absolutely zero to the conversation and nobody really cares what you think of Everton or Newcastle. I mean, getting to the group stage of the champions league makes Newcastle a big club? Crazy talk.

13.) 26 Jun 2021 17:27:44
Bluepotato I was about to ask the same question reg Newcastle and Rudder I'm guessing you can't read as would you like to point where I said Liverpool are not a big club is this one of those kopite traits where you make something up and believe it to be gospel.

14.) 26 Jun 2021 18:10:59
Everton haven't been a big club in over a quarter of a century. If I was Rafa I wouldn't touch Everton with a barge pole.

15.) 28 Jun 2021 02:48:53
And before Alex Fergerson came along Manchester United had not won the league in 25 years, things change, afder all, there is a club quite close by that until resently not won there own championship in 30 years, but still insisted they we a big club, so we will build for the future, rather than try and live on past glory, but then the delusional cannot be helped.

16.) 28 Jun 2021 11:35:04
I'm not thrilled with Rafa but I'll give him my support if he is coming in. My not liking the choice has less to do with his red history and more to do with things like being a very defensive coach who hasn't stayed anywhere long since Liverpool when we need someone to get the fans behind an exciting longterm project.
but hopefully he wins us a trophy and the haters will be so surprised they'll love him.

17 Jun 2021 22:42:40
If the rumours are true then shame on you EFC.
Benitez was deemed passed his best years ago by that lot, did nothing at Newcastle but now considered the perfect choice to lead us into our new stadium and bright new era?

What a joke, an absolute disgusting embarrassing joke!
Brands will be gone next and we will be led once again by a mercenary who cares nothing for our small club!

Where’s the “fresh” exciting new coaching talent?
This is no more a positive appointment than Fat Sam!

Yet again we are a laughing stock thanks to the pathetic inept management of our club. was always told be careful what you wish for. I know understand why.
Duncan Ferguson is a legend but if he remains part of the fat waiter’s set up then we know why the Nuno appointment fell through.
Nuno, Potter, Martinez. anyone but him!
Cannot and will not support him.
All the above is only applicable if the rumours are true of course!

BrettAngel

1.) 18 Jun 2021 08:49:09
Benitez did nothing at Newcastle! = Brought them up from Championship and made the most of a bad job (the owner) wuth little to no resources. Chelsea finished 3rd won Europa League. Liverpool won Champions League. The only problem is as now being reported is his difficulty working with DoF. 3rd/ 4th meeting today so perhaps that may be ironed out. If hired, what he will do is create a period of stability. What us fickle fans should do is give our heads a wobble.

2.) 18 Jun 2021 08:54:51
Why get so upset about something that hasn't happened?

I fully understand that for some this would be a disaster of a choice. But why is everyone so insistent on believing everything is as the papers tell us, its like we all want to be pissed off about something.

3.) 18 Jun 2021 09:19:49
Chelsea third and Europa? Have a chat with Chelsea supporters see what they think about that.

4.) 18 Jun 2021 14:53:50
reds here . Your not Chelsea they had won plenty before Rafa arrived . What you need it stability and I think he will bring that. By the way I am 47 and want the days back the the mighty red and the neighbours across the park fought for the league. Nuno would be good but heard he want rid of big Dunc so looks like a no go .

5.) 18 Jun 2021 22:07:42
At least give the man a chance. Stability sounds good to me, in fact, just what we need.

We’re done…a point against Newcastle, nothing at Leicester, nothing at Brighton, at home to City or at Wolves and a win against Bournemouth is nowhere near enough!
We must be favourites now alongside Southampton and Forest!
The only player that can possibly galvanise us is Coleman!
Last season at Goodison will be in the championship and a complete clear out of p.

Going back to the topic of kenwright like him or loathe him, I'm not in either camp but I have to say the fella is an absolute cretin.
What a time to release a statement and spout such claptrap. The fans are in no way to blame for the demise of efc.
He has to recognise that he is part of the collapse or if he isn't soley accountable then he must know who is. What was the result of the internal review? He's coming across as a very poor politician and using deflection tactics.
The fans didn't sign 5 number 10s in the summer of 2017 yet the majority of the fans could see the errors of that disastrous summer that started the rubbish storm that followed. The fans didn't sign Walcott or any of the other bobbins and put them on ludicrously long contracts and ridiculous fees. The fans didn't appoint Walsh or brands did they? This board has been well estranged from the fans for years now, kenwright included. It was kenwright who introduced moshiri to the club. Whether we stay up or not they have to sell and we need to start again. The current predicament is on the board that's fact.
If you want to see a club in total unison look no further than a substantial town in North Wales! If you want to know how not to do it and look at a club in disarray look at everton.
Going back to the team. Non of this is on dyche. He's been given an impossible task but he is the man to manage us in the championship. Like many on here have eluded to as well as ex professionals and pundits, the truth is we have a mob of absolute misfits. It's a bizarre creation of previous managers ideas and desperation. The team needs a complete overhaul and the club as a whole needs a new vision.
In some instances relegation can be the answer in terms of a reset but I honestly believe when everton face the grim reaper ( if not the end of this season then next season) we will rot in the championship for some time. Half a billion on that team is an absolute catastrophe. My fear came true in that I can't honestly see leicester going down as there squad is far superior to ours, Leeds, forest and Southampton's. I honestly think we are toast now.

2.) 23 Apr 2023 07:27:32
Nice post Witty although the message is hard to take.

08 Jan 2023 21:37:00
We have Pickford and Onana that are proper Premiership quality and fit to wear the Everton shirt… that is the size of the rebuilding job and Lampard is way out of his depth.

BrettAngel

1.) 08 Jan 2023 21:54:41
Tricky to judge a few others who might be worthy of a spot in the squad if they had better quality around them.

2.) 08 Jan 2023 22:48:19
Onana? Did you watch the World Cup? He doesn’t want the ball, he’s a stopper, can’t play ball.

3.) 08 Jan 2023 23:30:39
Bobby Martin, you clearly don’t understand football.

4.) 09 Jan 2023 12:41:41
I'm on the right website then :-D.

{Ed025's Note - love it bobby..

05 Nov 2022 23:14:07
Gueye as much as I wanted him back has given away a lot in recent games add that to Gordon’s form, McNeill and Gray just not having the final pass and that DCL just isn’t the player he was 2 seasons ago and that’s our problem…I think the World Cup
May save Frank.

BrettAngel

1.) 06 Nov 2022 11:07:56
7 points from 21 are we in trouble?

29 Oct 2022 19:34:48
Cannot understand how Gordon is getting a game… he is appalling!

BrettAngel

1.) 29 Oct 2022 19:46:08
Get Stanley Mills in there.

02 Oct 2022 22:22:40
We cannot under any circumstances let Pickford go…if the rumours of UTD interest is true then it needs to be nipped in the bud quickly!
He is pivotal to the attitude of the squad and commanding his defence, also Coady needs a permanent contract ASAP… much better feeling around the club and can see the progress now that Lampard and Thelwell have had a full window…January not too far away and another couple of savvy signings and last season will be just a horrendous memory.

BrettAngel

1.) 03 Oct 2022 07:54:59
I wouldn’t be surprised if he went in the summer. He’ll be 29, and will have no trophies to his name.

2.) 03 Oct 2022 08:59:12
Probably still won't have any trophies to his name if he joins that lot either ??.

3.) 03 Oct 2022 17:34:40
Whilst pickford is a amgreat shot stopper and has been in great form, if we're offered a decent amount I think he'll go.

Next keeper. needs to be a little. taller, commanding his box for crosses. and corners as well as stopping anot.

A new low for Everton…how much more can fans take of this circus and joke of a board?
If I was a DCL, Richarlison, Pickford, Doucoure, Godfrey or Gray I’d be onto my agent now demanding to know what is going on and who the new manager is going to be while looking for another club ASAP and nobody could or should blame them!
This is like something out of an episode of Dream Team… just absolutely staggered at how a successful businessman can act in this way?
Hopefully the protests do the job and he goes… would rather have my club back than any new stadium!
Time for change NOW.

And with Allan apparently allowed to leave…if there is a single Evertonian that still believes that Benitez is the right man for the job then you better go find another team…we have become an absolute laughing stock from board down to the manger and even now down to our better players giving interviews and wanting to leave…I just don’t know how much more I can take!
Get him gone and get him gone NOW.

I disagree… we don’t have “good young players”, we have nothing, we haven’t produced a half decent “youngster” for years!
Gordon, Simms, Dobbin, Warrington, Price… nowhere near 1st team players in the current premier league and what’s even worse is that they are probably better than most of our first team.
Apart from Pickford, I would get rid of the lot of them.
