Deal sheet in for Broja?
1.) 30 Aug 2024 23:34:55
Evidently they have two hours to complete the paper work. If they have submitted a deal sheet does that mean that Everton and Chelsea have an agreement and Broja has agreed to join us?
2.) 30 Aug 2024 23:38:39
would be upgrade on Beto if he can play in Oct.
3.) 30 Aug 2024 23:44:39
Sorry just read about "deal sheets", it would appear that providing we can submit the paper work in the required time frame he is ours. Unfortunately he has an injury and reportedly will not be available to play until mid-October.
4.) 30 Aug 2024 23:51:30
4 strikers though? When we know SD will only ever play one? Odd transfer for me. I had an inkling that Dom might go and Fofana might come in. As always, will reserve judgement until the lad pulls the shirt on.
5.) 30 Aug 2024 23:59:48
The lad has a lot of question marks against his name but can he strike a football - yes. Has he got good feet - yes. Can he carry the ball and bring others into play - yes. Are we stronger with him in the squad than without him - yes.
The fact that there is an option to buy makes this deal pretty good for us, all things considered.
6.) 31 Aug 2024 02:02:31
Think he's signed according to reports.
7.) 31 Aug 2024 08:38:29
It’s a loan with option to buy next summer no payment until he’s played for the first team.
8.) 31 Aug 2024 09:16:47
Sensible deal then. Wonder if that means Beto will leave in the next couple of days.
9.) 31 Aug 2024 10:09:45
Hit the nail on the head JB. Now have four strikers, bench is going to be packed because he will probably only play one.
10.) 31 Aug 2024 11:11:07
I reckon dom goes saudi like toney.
11.) 31 Aug 2024 12:33:36
Win win, he's had a weird window with going to Ipswich twice ?. Atleast he's another option and if useless we can send him back!
12.) 31 Aug 2024 12:34:43
I know there will be mixed feelings, but I'm a little disappointed Dom hasn't gone with Broja coming in. I think Dom's commitment to the club is getting less and less. Hopefully a new striker will make him play for his place so he can advertise himself to a new club for next season. I just wish we had taken some money for him when we had the chance.
13.) 31 Aug 2024 13:54:11
I think me personally i think its boosts are attacking options i'm happy we have him on loan just the injuries concern me but if he has good season we can purchase broja and if he doesn't can send him back but i'm kinda happy having him and hopefully we can turn his form around touch wood.
14.) 01 Sep 2024 19:37:55
Disappointed we didn’t let Beto go. The guy is a very average footballer, would struggle in the Championship.
30 Aug 2024 12:22:28
Gnotto to Sheff Utd at advanced stage. Wow Everton have been trying for 2 years, obviously not trying too hard.
1.) 30 Aug 2024 12:52:45
That'd be a strange one. Championship to Championship?
2.) 30 Aug 2024 15:58:24
It's his level. Not prem standard.
3.) 30 Aug 2024 18:56:30
Another Lookman but look how he has progressed it's a gamble.
4.) 30 Aug 2024 19:16:25
May as well stay at Leeds then.
25 Aug 2024 08:27:16
DCL to Chelsea? If it's Chelsea it's got to be 50mil plus a couple players.
1.) 25 Aug 2024 10:35:34
And Maupay wants to go back to France, does that mean we can get a new forward.
2.) 25 Aug 2024 11:33:29
Haha we could sign pele in his prime and it won’t solve our problems! People on here seem to think a new striker will turn us around.
We have the worst scouting team in the history of the premier league too so no faith at all that the person brought in would be any good, just look at our record. Only decent striker we have ever signed was lukaku and let’s be honest, it didn’t need a scout to realise how good he was at the time!
3.) 25 Aug 2024 13:24:18
It would certainly help our cause Richris.
4.) 25 Aug 2024 13:54:20
Think 2024 Pele would improve us!
5.) 25 Aug 2024 14:14:46
I agree with GB.
Dom is done. Even when he is applying himself correctly, he doesn't scream striker to me, certainly not a goal scorer. A decent striker wouldn't turn us around but it would sure improve our chances of winning football matches.
We know how stubborn Dyche is, we saw this with his refusal to play JB at the start of last season. When it got so bad and the heat turned up from the fans, head had no choice, a bit like Dixon yesterday.
If we take McNeil and Harrison off the flanks and replace them with Ndiaye and Jesper, we have a completely different dynamic to the side. Chuck Jimmy in his favoured position of CAM, which we have only tried him in once. That was against Villa in the cup and he bagged a decent goal running beyond our forwards and their back line. That would give us 3 footballers behind the striker that can retain possession, pick passes, drive at opposition defences and not panic in key areas. Atm we have McNeil, Douc and Harrison. I am not sure that they can do any of those things listed between them.
Tim, Idrissa, JB and Tarks/ O'Brien sat behind them would give us a solid foundation to build from. Sure we would still be carrying the fullback spots but we are where we are. All of the clubs in the bottom half have weak spots in their sides.
Pickford
Dixon Tarks JB Myko
Idrissa Tim
Jesper Garner Ndiaye
New Striker
There are at least 3 worse teams than that in this league. This team needs a fresh approach and the bollocks to tear up the script but the questions is whether Dyche has the self reflection to realise this.
There are 5/ 6 sides that have had the same results as we have in the opening two fixtures and these are the same sides you would expect us to be battling it out with come the end of the season.
The way things are atm are beyond bleak and it is hard to see any positives atm. That being said, remember Villa were below us when Emery took over and look at their change in trajectory since he came in. I am not naïve enough to think that we will get somebody of his class in or even a new manager at all but tweaks to this first 11 will certainly see some more positive outcomes on the pitch, that is for sure.
If I were Thelwell, I would be doing all I can to shift Dom on and going all out for a striker. Nketiah on loan. Dia, Morris, Adebayo, Ings, Vinicius, Fofana. Anyone to freshen this team up would be better than a striker that clearly doesn't want to fight for this team anymore.
We might not have any money to make big signings but there are still deals out there to be had.
6.) 25 Aug 2024 14:52:57
Yep your right there BlueNose, with DCL and a few others like Keane, Holgate Maupay and even Beto who are not Premiership players we need them out pronto and with what ever money we have get in replacements, I thought Dixon, Tim, Ndiaye and Jesper all played well on Sat we need a few more of similar talent mate, and we still have Jake chewing at the bit to get on mate.
7.) 25 Aug 2024 17:06:53
I can buy into that Blue Nose. I don’t think Moshiri cares anymore so nothing will happen with Dyche until we get knee owners. Whether Dyche will make the changes is the question.
8.) 25 Aug 2024 17:47:26
Ndiaye is a natural No10, would be wasted on the wing. Also doesn’t matter who leads the line if they’re on their own. Need to play two strikers and stop this negative formation.
9.) 25 Aug 2024 18:41:46
Woburn you aren't wrong, he probably is better in the 10 but the same could be said about Jasper. They both have the ability to play anywhere across the modern day forward positions but we simply don't have the personnel or depth in the squad. I would rather have Garner in the CAM, picking out runners ahead of him.
We would be able to play about with there positions if we had other decent players to fill other areas but we don't.
We need to be able to find a setup that gets all of our better players on the pitch at the same time.
I can't think of many teams that play with 2 strikers now. We finally have 2 players that can play on the counter attack and put the opposition to the sword about in Jesper and Ndiaye. With Tim and Idrissa doing the defensive work, i would feel more comfortable having a footballer with decent IQ in the middle to link the defence to attack - Jimmy G is perfect for that.
All that being said, this is a pointless conversation as we know Dyche will never think this way.
10.) 25 Aug 2024 22:20:35
I never thought I'd say this but I'd get Moyes back for 2 seasons.
Sell Dom and try and get Richy back with the money and someone like Gnonto.
We can't rely on Dyches counter attack football with no pace and a striker who isn't committed.
Moyes was always likely to suffer a defeat like the Brighton game but he would always get a reaction the game after.
11.) 25 Aug 2024 22:22:06
I can see dele getting a 1yr contract and playing in that 10 role. From what I'm reading he's training hard and looks impressive. Wether he'll remain injury free and get back anywhere near the player he was mind. Saying that if he plays and puts the ball in the back of the net he's improved us straight away.
12.) 26 Aug 2024 20:21:24
Well if he looks impressive then someone else will probably sign him.
16 Jun 2024 17:01:52
Everton lining up Jacob Greaves If United meet their valuation. Seen a bit of him and very good player.
1.) 16 Jun 2024 21:30:09
There's gems in the championship. Jude Bellingham was Birmingham and look at him now. The desire to succeed usually beats skill and flair.
2.) 16 Jun 2024 22:01:33
His brother Jobe decent aswell think palace looking at him.
3.) 17 Jun 2024 08:52:29
Should be looking at young talent that aren’t already in high wages.
4.) 17 Jun 2024 14:17:46
Prefer Greaves as the Godfrey replacement if he’s not signing a new contract
And he can offer cover for Mykolenko as well.
01 Jan 2024 10:07:30
Happy New Year everyone. Tricky month ahead but keep the faith its going to be ok. Talk of Danjuma going to Lyon as not getting enough game time?
{Ed002's Note - Arnaut Danjuma (W) His agent and Villareal want him out of his loan at Everton early with Lyon talking to his club.}
1.) 01 Jan 2024 11:51:13
Yep ditto that, hope we hear soon re our appeal need that out out the way as soon as.
2.) 01 Jan 2024 13:56:37
All this rumour of us getting this lad or that lad is just that. Loans (on small wages) and freebies is just that. Everton are still in deep brown stuff and my opinion will need to sell a couple of players of value.
3.) 01 Jan 2024 15:31:57
Yeah but the bad news Holgate could be on his way back.
4.) 01 Jan 2024 16:14:34
Well if were not going to play him then let him go, and try and loan a player who will play.
5.) 02 Jan 2024 09:57:01
He hasn't been disappointing rather than having a bit of a shocker. He is full of running and flatters to deceive but just has no end product. He seems to want to smash every cross or shot as hard as possible. He seems to have all the ingredients but clearly this seems a level too far. France would suit him. Definitely time to end loan and to replace with someone else. Who? Got a feeling us and Palace will be resting players and we could somehow end up going through or worse a replay (do they still do replays in FA Cup? ) Neither club could do with a batch of cup games for a tournament neither can ultimately win. Best to get knocked out as our squad can't handle the games.
6.) 02 Jan 2024 09:59:31
Swap him, yes I know probably get a bag of spuds for him.
7.) 02 Jan 2024 13:25:08
Close glt59 might be Lingard?.

Holgate and Maupay out in 1 day. Branthwaite staying take that.
1.) 30 Aug 2024 23:37:15
Wonder if DCL will sign a contract extension… didn’t have anyone come in for him in the end (to our knowledge; Eds may know something different)
2.) 31 Aug 2024 00:14:31
I doubt if DCL will sign, more likely that he will test the market at the end of the season. The problem for him is that it is unlikely that he will be offered anywhere near what he will be asking, that is unless he has a stellar year. The best scenario for us is that one of the other strikers hits a golden streak in which case DCL will see little action and will be "up a creek without a paddle".
3.) 31 Aug 2024 03:12:36
I have always thought that DCL has a higher opinion of his abilities than he actually has.
He is going to leave in the summer and so we need to be playing our other strikers ahead of him. He doesn't score many goals so we may as well pick an under 21 striker and give him a go, can't be any worse.
4.) 31 Aug 2024 07:45:38
Hopefully we get some money for him from a desperate team in January.
5.) 31 Aug 2024 09:34:41
There’s a Sunday league team looking for a striker think they are enquiring about the fraud.
6.) 31 Aug 2024 09:36:53
From January he is able to negotiate a pre contract agreement with other clubs so we'll end up with nothing for Calvert-Lewin.
Anyone who doesn't want to be here should be shown the door anyway. One good season under Ancelotti is what he will be remembered for. Apart from that his goal numbers are bloody awful.
25 Aug 2024 13:55:53
Interview released by Steve Walsh saying how he wasn't backed by EFC. he's one of prime culprits for current situation with reckless spending.
1.) 25 Aug 2024 16:06:30
FM signs the cheque.
2.) 25 Aug 2024 17:49:05
Walsh was like a kid in a candy store. Needed the owner to say no.
3.) 25 Aug 2024 18:37:50
The problem was that none of his signings were worth the money paid. He and Koeman were the main culprits of our downfall. Don’t believe him when he says the club refused to sign Haaland when they ok’d Tosun!
19 Jul 2024 21:44:29
This could play out several ways and the differences are vast. I have enjoyed the last month with hope - oh well!
1. Moshiri and Friedkin haggling and Moshiri backs down and we get our takeover.
2.Friedkin seen the extent of the trouble we're in and decided not for him. He risks losing a lot of money if we go into administration.
3.This takeover is over and one of the other interested parties comes in. We have lost a month which is precious time but we may get the dream local owners.
21 Apr 2024 13:26:14
Cmon let's win the Astrixs derby and calm the nerves.
10 Jan 2024 19:26:20
Interesting interview from Real Madrid Assistant Manager Davide Ancelotti who has spoken to El Pais about his time at Everton. Especially the last 6 months and board interference/ squabbling.
“Me and my father (Carlo Ancelotti) enjoyed our time at Everton. We came in at the end of 2019 with a plan to get the club to where we all felt it deserved to be, competing at the top.
The owner (Farhad Moshiri) sold us a vision which really excited us, we knew then that this was the place to really achieve that. The club had clearly went through a period of instability and we were determined to change that.
Everyone knows that the Premier League isn’t easy, that first season was difficult. Everton was at the wrong end of the table when we took over. What we took from that season was the assessment of the squad and how we would improve that in the Summer.
Unfortunately by this time, the world was a few months into a C.V. This had a significant impact on Football and the financial implications were great. This is something we had to work with.
That summer (2020) we were able to do some business to improve the squad including bringing in a player me and my father knew very well in James Rodriguez. However during this time problems began, there was a number of disagreements with the Director of Football (Marcel Brands) on strategy.
He (Brands) wanted players which we felt weren’t the right fit for Everton, in the end we came to an agreement on the players we would pursue but this was a long and difficult process.
The Chairman (Bill Kenwright who passed away in October 2023) would often sit in at these meetings giving advice which we found strange as this was something I had not seen at other football clubs.
Following the summer we started the season (2020/ 21) really well and we were confident that the club could really achieve european Football. There was of course a couple of poor runs throughout the season which ultimately cost us and we finished 10th, this was very disappointing.
My father had grown increasingly frustrated with the business done in the January window that season and after a meeting with the Chairman at the end of the season we discovered that the club had very little to spend in the summer (2021) .
We were also told this was something unlikely to change for a number of years, at this point I think my father had made his decision that this project was coming to an end.
Just a day after this meeting Real Madrid had approached us to take over there, it was a pretty easy decision but that isn’t out of respect for Everton. It’s a wonderful football club however with the serious financial problems it was facing we decided that is was the right decision to leave. ”.
1.) 10 Jan 2024 21:23:34
Yeah interesting read cookie78. I for one have no issues with carlo leaving. I recall the loss against Fulham at home and seeing how angry upset and utterly dejected carlo looked. I think his appetite had gone after that game. I still think carlo is the business and a class fella and do not begrudge him leaving, again more than likely down to that bafoon moshiri.
2.) 10 Jan 2024 21:25:33
Excuses excuses, absolute bull rubbish.
3.) 10 Jan 2024 22:08:04
What's the truth then?
4.) 11 Jan 2024 01:13:35
Wouldn't say excuses but it gives an insight into the way our owner goes about his football business. Was a good read I thought personally. It was a shame when they left, said at the time that it was probably the only club he would have left us for, seems that the interference from the owner and the fact that the DoF was not supporting the manager either also played a part.
Looks like the press are having a bit of a dig at FM today. We had this from DA and also Jim White having his pennies worth, albeit to help sell his new book. Be interesting to see if anything there is more to come.
5.) 11 Jan 2024 06:22:35
What makes me laugh is the fact that Moshiri is supposed to be an accountant. Look at the mess we are in now. You would think that the accounts would be sorted. I think Ancelotti knew what he was doing but soon lost patience when he realised the club was in a mess ran by clowns. Getting his house broken into didn't help either!
6.) 11 Jan 2024 07:07:04
The truth is brown shoes he just dropped us with the drop of a hat because real Madrid came knocking and they are just blaming everton instead of telling the truth.
7.) 11 Jan 2024 07:14:59
He’s an accountant for an oligarch where 2+2 = whatever number is needed.
8.) 11 Jan 2024 12:28:09
That's it? As simple as a hat drop? Ok live and learn. I'd appreciate your 2 short sentence synopsis on the FFP financial plight and new ownership if you can enlighten us all?
9.) 11 Jan 2024 16:38:23
We've spent too much money in the past. Now we're in serious bother.
10.) 11 Jan 2024 17:53:52
Bill sold the club to the wrong person brown shoes
And he has ruined the club.
{Ed025's Note - we all thought we were getting the messiah Skylark...what we actually got was "a very naughty boy" mate.. :)
11.) 11 Jan 2024 19:37:29
It's all so simple and clear now.
12.) 12 Jan 2024 04:48:33
The truth is that he had more of a connection with a club that he had more history with. In addition, the project he was sold by our owner quickly vanished and there was little money there for him to improve our team. If you weren't a blue and you were in his position, I reckon the majority of us would do the same.
13.) 12 Jan 2024 13:28:43
I'm. not sure why your blaming carlo and saying its crap, look at the books, we are in deep deep rubbish, so that bit was 100% correct, why she he lie about the rest, top class managers do ther graft to get where they get, why should he stay at Everton with no money and wrevk his career, Madrid or Everton I no who I'd pick, so he's not to blame the owner is.
30 Aug 2024 12:21:12
O'Reilly got a bad injury midweek so unlikely he will move now.
25 Aug 2024 13:54:20
Think 2024 Pele would improve us!
12 Aug 2024 17:07:34
Remember we were once offered 35m for Holgate and turned it down.
09 Jul 2024 17:11:35
Said before streaky and looks good on 5min youtube clips goes missing in games. Whittaker or Gnotto are better and same price if mot cheaper.
09 Jul 2024 12:07:24
Agent seems to be saying same to everyone. Can't put finger in it but he's not adding up to me.
30 Aug 2024 10:57:20
Being picked up by Gnonto.
28 Aug 2024 20:45:54
Liverpool got 15m so maybe they take Maupay and we get Cheisa!
09 Aug 2024 17:10:48
They got upto 65m for Solanke so probably can cover wages.
02 Jul 2024 17:40:00
Bayern munich would be ace.
27 Jun 2024 17:55:06
Looking like light at end of the tunnel and hopefully it's a bright light. Stadium going to be massive. Looking to sort out creativity and goals at front end to build on a solid defence. Trust in the decision makers and understand thinking and pro active planning.
Also got a manager who although not everyone's cuppa tea is the right man and a new ownership who promise better decision making.
Can look on here not fearing Ed002 rightly saying we are going bust and were run by the most incompetent accountant and heading for oblivion.
