Gabriel Magalhaes - Everton look set to miss out on signing the Lille defender, who is set to join Napoli (Foot Mercato, June 19)

If this eventuates, then it would likely be cover for Koulibaly and could mean they pass on todibo.

todibo set to sign, then a n other.

2.) 26 Jun 2020 20:09:54
John Stones is a big rumour here on Merseyside.

3.) 26 Jun 2020 20:52:47
Not sure my nerves could take having Stones back.

4.) 27 Jun 2020 22:08:09
Are you hearing it’s a swap deal with Holgate bignev? . Hearing a few rumours in the papers, would rather keep Holgate. Could be a top player if he continues to progress at the same rate.

5.) 28 Jun 2020 08:41:44
No worse than us dribbling around our own penalty area at the moment.

Stones has a great footballing brain but for me I think he is better suited playing just in front of the defenders, as a Gareth Barry role, bringing the ball forward.

His injury record is the big concern, but more than happy with Holgates form to worry about Stones returning.

6.) 28 Jun 2020 08:46:23
Will not be a swap deal so no worries Holgate leaving, he is here long term, unless silly money is thrown at Everton.

City want to offload Stones but I personally think we are looking at Tordibo from Barca, as the top target.

So I've seen the updated breakdowns on player movement possibilities from the ED team.

I'm not sure where this leaves us though on realistic / plausible incomings this summer. Does anyone have something more solid?

I'm not looking for names like James Rodriguez, that's just papertalk, surely we have some more viable options available?
ST, CB, RB and RW seem to be the main areas of concern.

In a perfect world, I'd give siggy the arse too in favour of a more box to box option. He's just been a complete shambles right from the start, either having 3 X 10's for one position or not needing one entirely.

I don't think we need to make more then the 4 signings personally. The squad has more depth then we give it credit. CA should see natural improvement through his tactics and training alone going into this season in my opinion.

Cheers,

Sky sports / Manchester evening News:

Manchester United fans might have been sent a transfer hint following Yerry Mina's recent social media activity. The Colombia international followed United's official club account as well as Antonio Valencia and Paul Pogba on his Instagram account.

What can people tell me about the situation with Onyekuru seriously? Why is it so hard to get this lad a work permit?

I'd love to seem him and Lookman in the squad training and fighting for those forward positions this season.

As a young player from a non EEA country ranked between 40-50 in the FIFA rankings he needs to play in 75% of his country's matches in the previous year. Failure to play in the World Cup puts pay to that.

2.) 05 Jun 2018 13:52:59
He apparently required a certain number of domestic and/ or international caps this season to strengthen his chances of a granted work permit. Unfortunately his knee injury mid season severely dented that opportunity.

The lad has been fully fit for quite a number of weeks now, however he has since stated in an interview that his manager at Anderlecht has been deliberately side-lining him in an attempt to scupper his chances of a move - Henry Onyekuru specifically pointing out that he believes it’s an attempt to keep him at the club for next season. As a result of the lack of game time at his club (after recovering from injury) he was not selected for his Nigerian National Team. Therefore his only chance of rectifying that issue of a work permit through collecting international caps is no longer possible before the start of the new PL season.

Henry Onyekuru has stated in the same interview that he will not play for Anderlecht again because of this situation, therefore is very likely to go out on loan to a different club for one more season.

A bigger hammer blow if you ask me. He is exactly the style of player we want at Everton next season.

Plus his transfer fee was 7 mill think if it over certain fee they can get one as well not 100 percent though.

{Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that. The player needs a minimum of four points and summary goes something like this:
- The value of the transfer fee (alone) that is to be paid is between the top 75% and 100% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 3 points
- The value of the transfer fee being paid for the player is between 50% and 75% of all transfers to Premier League clubs in the previous 2 windows - 2 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is in the top 25% of the top 30 earners at the club - 3 points
- The basic wage (excluding bonuses) being paid to the player by the new club is between 50% and 75% of all the top 30 earners at the club - 2 points
- Subjectively, the player’s current club is in a recognised "top" league and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
- The player’s existing club has played in the group stages or onwards of the Champions League, Europa League or the Copa Libertadores within the last 12 months and the player has played in 30% or more of the available domestic league minutes - 1 point
}

5.) 05 Jun 2018 18:26:52
Brilliant. Can't say anymore. Great to see you back 02.

6.) 05 Jun 2018 20:41:57
Ed002 hey lad welcome back. No idea what went on and non of my business but hey WTF. Welcome.

7.) 05 Jun 2018 20:58:42
Right my honest belief is the lad was (after his injury) deliberately being left out by his then loan Club in the hope his UK playing qualifications would deliberately fall short and thus they would benefit, however he does remain an Everton player. Currently the lad has been left out of his National Side for the World Cup, so yet another Premiership qualification would seem to have been closed. We shall see what we shall see.

8.) 05 Jun 2018 21:07:03
Great to see you back ed002. Looking forward to your information and sharkpods if you’re going to do them again.

{Ed002's Note - No Joe, it is not worth the grief to do them. Thanks.}

The window this far has been fantastic.
We got Richy out the door in the last financial year.
We've drastically improved our backline and leadership.
We've brought in a young, hungry, possibly upcoming midfielder.
All while dangling no carrots at all regarding European football or manager stability.

Gordon out for anything over 50k would be fantastic business.
It's all about staying in the premier League and being ready with a great team by the new stadium opening for me.
That requires multiple transfer windows of slow positive growth. 50k + will be great for the coffers and allow us to get good fitting players in future windows when they come available.

I'd snap up 25M + Broja + Gallagher if that is in fact on the table. I highly doubt it, but it's certainly got me interested with a pen in hand to sign paperwork.

The Thelwell lead team appears to be doing well. More money on consultancy would take away from that, diluting the fantastic efforts he has clearly put in place this far, just give him some more time. He's done wonders in comparison to Brands getting players in and out the doors.

If true, there would want to be something behind that.
If he remains an Everton player, but has taken links to the club down, then I personally don't support him as a player.
Considering we have treated him very well, plenty of first team football and development at his age, it's just not good enough.

In saying all that, I would be cashing in on him at 40M+ anyway, all these higher bids if true are just cream.

I don't think he has the finishing, nor chance creation for teammates that we need anyway.
It's just been good development of a player to make profit. That part, is definitely promising.

Others have raised good points in seperate posts re: Gordon.
His finishing and passing are lacking. I think even if he meets potential, he's not long term a top 6 player.
We've found a good one and under different circumstances you would keep him.

However at 50m+ he is a great sale.
The job has been done then. We've unearthed a talent, given him game time and sold for a today profit. On to the next.

I'm not suggesting immediately either. We have cover in the wing positions.
We could potentially buy another young player for a fraction of the price, that could offer the same work ethic, which granted we would lose. But perhaps they will bring the some of the finishing we need for example.

Given our troubles with FFP, it's not unreasonable to see us cashing in and righting the finances even further. The sale of Richy won't last forever and hasn't magically got us out of financial troubles.

Just my opinion mate.
I believe we have enough funds for a striker at present and if not, part of the sale of Gordon could top that up, so we can bid strongly on goals into the team. But I'm also certainly not against much of those funds from a potential Gordon over-priced sale being kept to strengthen the club's position going into future windows, when new talents will become available like always.

I think if we missed out on one of our three imminent signings then we would have pushed harder here.
His brother is likely moving to Liverpool too and I've been told they are very close, so would suit lifestyle.

Richarlison doesn't track back well. Sure he might physically do the running, but he's a liability for a card or free kick just outside the box anytime he comes back for a tackle.
Keep him up front and focus on entirely new midfield to support Richy/ DCL in my opinion.

I'm 100% with Eddy above.
I consider this bad news, that money could be invested so much better.

If people believe his value will remain at 60M+, then ok, let's keep him for another season, hope he does very well and doesn't get injured.
If not, this is a very good sheet balancing opportunity missed.

Not ideal, but I'd like to see Keane and holgate hold down the partnership for rest of season to decide if we need a starter replacement or depth. Great opportunity for Keane here. Hope he takes it.
