I disagree that how we fare against Newcastle will be a good benchmark as to whether we can have a good run in the games that follow against likes of Ipswich, Fulham, Southampton, west ham and Brentford.

Gingerdan a criticism you levelled at Southgate in reply to another post was that he hasn't managed a domestic team in years - but then here you're saying that Lee Carsley would be your choice?

I think you need to re-read what I said Ed025. Baffled with how you've got to that from what I actually wrote.
As an extreme example of the point I was making. would you say it's unlucky if someone hits the post of an open goal from a yard out? The absolute minimum, in my opinion, that DCL should be doing with that chance is hitting the target. If you're able to explain how luck came into his failure to do so that'd be better than ridiculing my opinion.

{Ed025's Note - i was not ridiculing your opinion mate i was stating a fact, not every shot will hit the back of the net all the time because shooting is not an exact science, sometimes it will hit the keeper, hit the woodwork or maybe cleared off the line, luck also plays a part, take a top striker like Salah for instance...he will score with maybe a third or a quarter of the efforts on goal he has at best, its unfair imo to have a go at DCL for missing the odd chance..

Hitting the bar isn't "unlucky". There's a goal to score in and hitting it's frame is as useful as 10ft over. If it's a long range strike, tough header, potshot etc then you can call it a good effort but it isn't unlucky that it didn't go in - you just missed the target. And a premier league striker shouldn't be missing the target from there. It's like saying a top snooker player was unlucky when rattling the jaws with a black from it's spot, or a top golfer was unlucky when his putt lipped out from a 6ft putt.

Dbizzle

{Ed025's Note - so your saying every shot should be a goal DB?, come on mate give your head a wobble..

Blaming the fans for their being nervousness in the air when the first went in is an extraordinary take. Fans are bound to be edgy when they have been consistently let down by the overpaid bottle jobs. I reckon if you said to fans of all clubs that a team had lost 3-2 today after being 2-0 up with 3 mins to go a good chunk would guess it was Everton.
If players earning tens of thousands a week we unable to do their job properly because the fans were nervous that says everything about the players and nothing about the fans.
Not really interested in seeing Dyche interview but I presume he'll also references fans/ atmosphere and probably squeeze in a couple of comments about how bad the situation was when he arrived etc etc. There is nobody at the football club to sack him so it's really irrelevant how bad we are or how long it takes us to get a point on the board.
