Thelwall going and will be replaced by David Weir.

Eddy

1.) 10 Jan 2025 17:57:23
So BK era part 2. We'll have some good times over the next 27 years.

2.) 10 Jan 2025 18:56:57
He won’t be there that long Nick. He’s there until he’s deemed surplus to requirements. Win loads of games for us and he’ll stay. TFG want success, we will move away from PSR over the next season or two and we are offloading a lot of deadwood this summer. If Moyes fails to secure our safety or progress next year, he will be gone.

Dyche was taking us down. Not many others would take on a relegation scrap who have experience of the prem. He’s then best off a bad bunch and I’m sure the contract will mean it won’t cost the earth to sack him (or so I hope) .

Anyway, he hasn’t signed yet.

3.) 11 Jan 2025 01:44:32
If true then david weir is a cracking appointment. Rather have him over thelwell or dan ashworth.

03 Sep 2024 14:49:25
Hi Ed002

Is Sean dyche’s position under threat?

Is their somebody in position to make a decision on the manager?

Eddy

{Ed002's Note - I suspect it will be if a new owner can be found. Before then, I am not sure.}

1.) 03 Sep 2024 18:59:57
Think we have accept we have him until next summer unless we are in dire straits by December.

I think we are playing some good football so hope we are mid table by then.

30 Aug 2024 05:43:02
Morning Ed002. Any late interest in Calvert Lewin or does Dyche want to keep him? If that’s the case I think he’s thinking about himself and not the club going forward!

Eddy

{Ed002's Note - Everton don't want to sell but there remains interest.}

31 Jul 2024 13:51:23
Afternoon Ed’s

Is it looking likely that Calvert Lewin will be leaving us this summer?

If so do Everton have a replacement lined up?

Eddy

{Ed002's Note - Dominic Calvert-Lewin (S) The second player tapped up by Steven Gerrard. The summer will be a decision point for the player who will be another the club are willing to sell in order to raise funds. Newcastle, Brentford and West Ham offer options with Newcastle pressing to sign him to replace Callum Wilson, but Everton's asking price is seen as excessive. Manchester United interest has gone. A wildcard would be Crystal Palace.

Everton have already added one stiker but do have other forwards they are considering.}

1.) 31 Jul 2024 15:17:31
ED002, you've mentioned being tapped up by Steven Gerrard a couple of times, what do you mean by that?
Sorry if it's a stupid question but as you haven't mentioned the club that Gerrard manages, it's confused me.
Thanks.

{Ed002's Note - He is one of at least two players Gerrard illegally approached to try and persuade them to move to Al-Ettifaq.}

2.) 31 Jul 2024 16:14:47
Ed what other forwards are we considering? Are we going to do anything about gerrard tapping DCL up?

{Ed002's Note -

Jesper Lindstrom (AM/LW/RW), Jack Harrison (RW), Iliman Ndiaye (S/W/AM) have been agreed.

Others look at:
Yankuba Minteh (RW) No.
Jaden Philogene (LW) No.
Assane Diao (LW/RW) No.

Ramon Sosa (LW/RW) BlueCo are looking to authorise the payment of the player's €18.5M termination clause and move the player to Strasbourg. If it works well he may get a future move to Chelsea. LA Galaxy, Everton, Nottingham Forest and LA Galaxy sent scouts with Nottingham Forest making a low bid.
Sammie Szmodics (S) Will move this summer. Wants to move to West Ham but it is Galatasaray who were first to declare an interest. Possible Calvert-Lewin replacement for Everton. Ipswich, Leicester and Leeds offer options. Could possibly get his desired move.
Winsley Boteli (S) No.
Tammy Abraham (S) With JM departed then it is likely TA will as well. Brentford see him as a potential Toney replacement and Aston Villa will almost certainly provide an option. Spurs may turn to him if they lose out on their first choice. Juventus and Milan may see him as an option and Milan would be attractive to the player. Wildcard would be Everton as a Calvert-Lewin replacement, but it would require UEFA oversight and payments spread over a longer period. Will need to prove his fitness after a terrible injury. Roma may offer him back to Chelsea.
Armando Broja (S) Is available with considerable interest. Loan to Fulham failed although Chelsea were paid £4M. Southampton, Leicester, West Ham or Wolves may look to an offer but Monaco offer a far more attractive option although they think they can sign their preferred option. Everton have asked for an initial loan but Chelsea want to sell and Everton need to be careful with money - although if Calvert Lewin and Beto were to depart adding Broja and Iliman Ndiaye would not be unreasonable - but it will all be about money. Milan are after two strikers and are looking at Broja. Bologna see Broja as a potential Zirkzee replacement and an option to Vangelis Pavlidis and a couple of others they are considering.
Arkadiusz Milik (S) High wages, a few injuries, 30 and the goals have dried up mean the journeyman player can be moved on. Agent has offered the player to Everton, Brentford and West Ham. Genoa offer him the chance to stay in Italy. Nice offer a very unlikely solution.
Matheus Saldanha (S) Journeyman striker playing with Partizan Belgrade. Everton and Celtic have sent scouts – a Work Permit may prove to be a problem for Everton.

Nothing will be said about Gerrard.}

3.) 31 Jul 2024 18:22:16
It’s too late in the window to be signing a first choice striker. I think we will need to cope with what we’ve got. If that means DCL going for free next summer then so be it. We cannot worry about the 25/ 26 season we need to make sure we are ready for this one.

4.) 31 Jul 2024 19:26:30
Best thing Gerard has ever done for us.

5.) 31 Jul 2024 17:31:03
Although I didn’t ask top info Ed and thank you for the time and detailed answer.

6.) 31 Jul 2024 18:27:20
Thanks Ed just hope he’s sold or signs a new contract otherwise we are losing and player for free next summer without the funds coming in from him leaving.

7.) 31 Jul 2024 21:29:09
The fact that he hasn't signed new contract says it all really.

26 Jul 2024 19:46:26
Hi Ed’s with the signing of Lindstrom are we still looking at getting Gnonto.

Eddy

{Ed002's Note - I think it is unrelated so I expect he is still seen as an option.}

1.) 26 Jul 2024 22:48:13
What about Arthur Melo? Lots of chat earlier in the window about him.

{Ed025's Note - i dont think he is even on the radar Swinners..

2.) 27 Jul 2024 00:21:25
Cheers Ed25, I thought it was an odd one at the time.

3.) 27 Jul 2024 12:23:13
I think the rumoured £28 mill fee is far to expensive and would rather look elsewhere.

Don’t rate him that much anyway if I am honest. A bulkier Aaron Lennon. Fast and inconsistent end product.

Would rather their other lad every day of the week.

4.) 27 Jul 2024 12:47:24
Somerville? Me too.

5.) 27 Jul 2024 13:53:33
That’s it mate.

6.) 28 Jul 2024 15:34:48
Summerville would be 40+ which we definitely can't afford unfortunately.
Leeds have to move Gnonto on so they will have to budge on the fee.

Hopefully Alcaraz gives the team a little a bite and the South American attitude of going to any lengths to win. Which I do feel we have lacked over the years.

Eddy

1.) 01 Feb 2025 10:13:42
Let’s hope so Eddy and let’s hope we get a striker in as well to go with our 2-1 home win today.

2.) 01 Feb 2025 10:47:29
Very much so Eddy. We have missed that connective spark on the field that can get the fans going, a Richy, Gordan or to some extent a Iwobi for me.

Hopefully this could turn out to be a excellent and exciting transfer for us.

10 Jan 2025 15:38:02
Am I the only one that thinks if it’s longer than a 6month contract for moyes it’s a horrendous appointment?

Yes he did a good job for us 14 years ago but times have changed. Club run differently, styles have evolved.

Every striker we had when he was here he ruined.

We need to be moving forward rather than getting stuck in this loop of managers to will get you bare minimum.

We need a manager like
Thomas Frank who believes every game he plays he’s done enough and expects to go and win that game no matter the opponent.

No Moyes’s view “knives to a gun fight”
We don’t want a manager who needs and wants excuses! We want a manager who will go into every game we play ans expect and set up to win!

Eddy

{Ed025's Note - im with you Eddy but it looks like it will be a 2 year+ appointment mate...someone take my shoelaces out..

1.) 10 Jan 2025 15:48:32
Now now Ed, come back from the ledge, put the hemlock down. If he keeps us up and mid table all will be forgiven.

{Ed025's Note - if that happens 770 i will show my arse in John Colliers window mate..

2.) 10 Jan 2025 16:10:01
A Full Moon over Merseyside. That could be quite a sight….

{Ed025's Note - well 770 this year we have had a blue moon, a crescent moon and a harvest moon...i cant see us having a rather large hairy one as well mate.. :)

3.) 10 Jan 2025 17:05:47
I just can’t get my head around the length of the contract. Seems a very rushed appointment and one that the new owners have been told will get the fans onside. I can see it turning sour very quickly.

We moaned about dyche’s football in the last year at goodison.

We will be furious with moyes’s football in the first year at BMD.

4.) 10 Jan 2025 18:29:43
Bang on Eddy. ?.

30 Aug 2024 17:24:18
If we fail to sell Calvert Lewin this window knowing he’s not signing a contract and wanting to move on. Thelwell and Dyche have failed the club given our current financial struggles at the club. We could be potentially missing out on a 10-20m fee. Which we could the. Utilise the loan market to cover the position.

His 6-8 goals will not a major deciding factor in Everton staying up. But his lack of commitment and effort in the remaining time at the club could be a big factor in our premier league status.

Eddy

1.) 30 Aug 2024 18:12:56
I don't agree, if he stays and keeps us up, then 10 or 15 mill loss on him will be nothing compared to staying in the league.

2.) 30 Aug 2024 18:59:53
If he stays he will play out of his skin for his new employer or hoping we offer him the deal he wants for 4 year's then can go back to being injured.

3.) 30 Aug 2024 19:01:29
I’m with you there Bluepasty
Keep us up bang in some goals finally and he may also stay for the lure of the new stadium.

4.) 30 Aug 2024 19:06:42
The problem is the wage he thinks that he should get verses what clubs including ourselves think that he is worth.

5.) 30 Aug 2024 19:13:35
Agree pasty, plus he might now sign a new deal.

6.) 30 Aug 2024 19:29:28
He won't keep us up. Have you not seen the last handful of games. He couldn't give a s****. The lad has checked out. Even he was trying, he scraped 6/ 7 goals.

7.) 30 Aug 2024 20:01:45
We would have been in trouble if we didn't have those goals though, BN.
I think it's too late in the day to let him go unless we have another player lined up with a deal that can be sorted before 11pm and that is probably highly unlikely mate. I don't think he's a natural striker but he has scored important goals for us and nobody in the squad can hold the ball up as good as him. Let's be honest, our players tend to lump it up field and hope that he can hold the ball up for us. Forgetting how gash Beto's all round game is, his hold up play isn't great for a physical striker. We would be in serious trouble if we had to rely upon him to score the goals to keep us safe.

8.) 30 Aug 2024 21:12:04
If he has player (s) up with him to play off rather than chasing from midfield might play better and improve his mindset too. Must be so moral breaking to chase win the ball then have to hang on to play to others catching up, or just go it alone and be outnumbered.

9.) 31 Aug 2024 07:15:50
How can you say Dyche and Thellwell have failed if DCL isn’t sold! You can only sell if someone’s prepared to buy! Some people! ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️.

18 Aug 2024 07:55:25
Well new season same old Everton and dyche!

Can’t understand how heat staring Keane and then brining him gate in over the 20 new signing.

Plays the same style of football with no real emphasis on try to take the game to the opposition.

Then to top it all off having a go at the fans after the final whistle because people left. He has single handedly put a damper on Everton last season at goodison park. We need a manager that will give us football that we can go to the game expecting us to try and win rather than not get beat.

He keeps saying we need to changing the narrative buts keeps operating the same which will never change anything and peoples views on his type
Of football.

Ed on the deal with Leeds and Leicester surely only one club can ask us for comp as if we got relegated only one of them could be stayed up?

Eddy

{Ed002's Note - No. It is not just relegation, it is loss of income. Leeds will perhaps step back.}

3 wins isn’t good enough yeah we have sacked managers to early in the past. But Frank isn’t a manager we sacked too early! Have you seen our league position? Our tactics well you couldn’t have because we didn’t have any! A half decent manager would have us 10th place.

I don’t think it matters if we had Brightons
Set up moshiri and whoever aren’t allowing people to do their job roles with freedom and that’s where i think the problem lies. Hopefully changes are coming and the right people can go and perform there jobs to the highest possible standard without interference.

The comments about him being the same level as pep and klopp are a distraction tactic to take the focus off the team and straight on to him which looks like it has worked because that’s all the media are talking about and not that Leeds are in trouble and under pressure.

It’s madness thelwell should be left to do his job which actually might gives us a chance rather than moshiri bring in someone who he wants and does fit our squad! I really hopes it’s not Allardyce. People keep saying dyche is a firefighter he’s not! He was at Burnley for 7 years building his team I think he could do a job but I think we honest need to think of someone for the short term and long term ie if we get relegated or stay up can we progress with the new manager will he work under thelwell in the future. As for the players who want to go sell them asap if they have options and get some players in who will be up for fighting the the clubs present and future.

Tonight’s game was a no pressure game for the players compared to the pressure Saturdays games going to be which is a must win simple ad that can I see the players being ready for that type of match? No. Will lampard have them tactically ready? No will his subs be like for like in the game? Yes behind the scenes is not lampard la fault he can’t have any effect on that. But on the pitch it all comes down to him. When the transfer window closed he stated he was happy with his squad going into the season. He chooses the tactics which he uses game to game which seem to be exactly the same for each game. I think we 100% need a change of manager and hopefully thelwall can do what’s he’s been paid to do and find someone to move us in the right direction.
