Some youngster from from league 1 linked to us for 1M.

Know nothing about the guy, appears to be no intention of letting him play first team if he signs.
Makes me wonder what will happen to the likes of Rodrigues who appears to be the forgotten man from Martinez' signings.

being linked with Robson Kanu.
I mentioed recently tat i thought he was a decent player but that he had been released from Reading and i didn't think he was good enough.

Reports suggest he let his contract run down so he could leave on a free. (if that's true in not sure i like it. )

Would anyone else take the lad ona free considering we have the money to go and buy proven prem/ Champions league players?

I wouldn't take him not to say he's not a good player just he's the type of player we would of been after in 2004 hard worker that may get 5-10 goals. We need a striker to get around 20 if rom stays or another player that could get 30+ if rom leaves. We should be looking at the best we can buy not what's free don't get me wrong if there is a great free player to be had i'm all for it just don't think he comes under that bracket.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 11:00:38
Jermain Beckford springs to mind.

3.) 05 Jul 2016 12:26:50
i agree Alyn. not to mention the fact that signing him on a free would also taek up one of our 25 in the main squad which i think would be better spending on youths now over the age of 21 (Garbutt etc)

4.) 05 Jul 2016 15:09:52
If we say Robson-Kanu then we may as well just appoint Davey Moyes and bring ossie and hibbo back! its a backwards move for everton and we have youngsters who offer far more!

Reports of a 3 year dealbeing handed to Mandanda. supposidley more news this afternoon.

if we take the papers word for the more likely GK rumours then Mandanda, Steklenburg and Joel.

am i the only one thinking its too amny? in other words would we rather have Mandanda with steklenburg as back up or keep joel and choose one of the two we are linked with?

(ive not included hart becasue who would have him after the Euro performances he's put in)

1.) 29 Jun 2016 12:30:14
Greg if we sign mandanda and skeltenberg I can see Ronnie sending Joel out on loan to give him first team football but I believe we will have a clause in any loan deal so he could come back if one of r gk get injured.

2.) 29 Jun 2016 12:34:10
Haven't seen much of him personally, is he any good? .

3.) 29 Jun 2016 12:52:18
Gibbo he's a good keeper and been voted as best keeper in french league football for the past 2 seasons he's has lots of experience both at international level and in europe so think he be a good signing for us plus his experience in goal would help r defence.

4.) 29 Jun 2016 14:30:17
Thankfully most of the top 6 have quality keepers otherwise he would ge going there, top keeper and I hope this comes off.

5.) 29 Jun 2016 14:52:52
Mandanda, experienced no1 for signing on fee, Steklenburg, prem exp as no2 for £750,000. Send Joel out on loan for 1st team footy sounds like an improvement and allows money to be spent elsewhere. Would like Forster/ Butland but that's probably £20+ mil.

6.) 29 Jun 2016 15:51:31
Top priority a goalkeeper, once we land one, then onwards and upwards to other signings coming in.

7.) 29 Jun 2016 17:54:41
Wouldn't say no to Mandanda but for me when I've seen him play ( only 2-3 times tbh) . He looks pretty dodgy. A great shot stopper but seems prone to palming the ball back into dangerous areas and punching the ball away when it could of been caught.

8.) 30 Jun 2016 12:19:36
Mandanda of to Crystal palace it was tweeted by member of palace staff so guess was just paper talk with us being linked with him read an article in a newspaper the other day saying that rk likes his goalkeepers to have a big presence in goal all the goalkeeper he has managed have been 6ft5 or taller.

Pretty likely to be all paper wtalk as most of it is, especially as we were linked with the lad a season or so ago.

but eds what do we know about Hakim Ziyech and his situation? we were linked over the apst couple days and i believe his club is in some serious finiacial issues or someting right now whihc could see him leave ont he cheap?

was a stand out player int he league last season from what I've heard so do you know if interest is genuine?

When I read Hakim Ziyech, I read Salma Hayek in my head and got all excited, I know she's probably rubbish at football but wow . Should have gone to spec savers.

Oviedo and Joel have taken to twitter after the first training session with RK. Both with comments expressing exxcitment for the new season.

unsure of how the training is handled but i imagine the U-21 will train with Unsworth and the first team with RK.

it would be worth noting that Galloway, Davies, Dowell, Pennington and anothwe who i can't make out, are training with the first team. these can be seen on Joels upload

Ovied's shows what looks like it could be Walsh but on a closer look seems to be rodrigues.

if the training is seperate then it looks like these youngsters are in with a good chance of featuring pre-season etc (like a few of our youngsters hopefully)

Liam Walsh was training yesterday with first team.

2.) 06 Jul 2016 15:08:43
cheers, i thought it could have been him but was unsure due to the angle of the image.

Im sure the majority of you will share my opinion here but happy dys as Valencia confirm the signing of Nani on a 3-year deal. unsure of the fee but at this point i'm just glad the papers were wrong about us signing him.

7.5 mil.

2.) 05 Jul 2016 16:24:24

if it is for a fee or closer too £20M i will be very happy, the extra 8.5M could be used to bring in the polish winger should we have genuine interest i think a fee around this should suffice? but its all gone quiet on that fron now.

dont quote me on this but i believe i saw ed say previously that his 'written transfer request' was never taken bak when he handed it in back in Jnauary.

i personally would like to think that every one of our players would like to stick it out and play under RK for a until atleast the next transfer window to see how and what we can achieve under him in this first season (not that we can base anything off of first seasons as we experiacned first hand with RM. )

But i imagine all it will take is Pre-season adn trainign for some players to figure out that RK isn't the mant o lead them further into their careers.

ive never seen Kenny play so i do hope you are right. i know he wants to fiht for his plae and i also know we have quite a few players available for the role of RB with Browning, Pennington (both who prefer CB it seems) Holgate (who if he can progress like stones or galloway will be first team ina year or two. Plus some others who i can't for the life of me remember.

but i do hope you are right Johny.

From what i know of the lad he played a mirallas-esc role of playing on the wing and being able to play up top. he's versitile and let's be honest if you are going to look for stats how do they display his effect on the game?

he may have played a striker but made every single opertunity allowing players to whip balls in or dragging defenders away to make space for team mates.

i haven't seen the player so i can't say for sure but you can't base it on his stats. Take Niasse, proven goal scorer and possibly best player is Russia last season/ start of this season. based on his STATS he knows where the goal is. yet he's seen as a donkey for us?

as mentioned above and all over the sight, if RK thinks he's the right man then we will simply have to trust his judgment and support the team

COYB.

i think it looks good Murf, I've seen a few 'unpleasent' kits that come to mind and for me the Yellow and blue semi-stripe from a season or so ago was not to me taste at all.

i think you're right Twoold2.
we have players that are good enough for a top 5 finish and nearly achieved so under martinez in the first season. our players are surely better now then they were back then and now we have other squa players like Mori, Cleverly and Lennon who may not be our best players but are now prem proven and good for rotation/ injury replacemnts.

Im sure RK knows this and will amke purchases where he sees fit but a lot of it does depend on who leaves and who stays.

Rugani or Koulibaly would be good alternatives for Stones, i hope that if interest is genuine and we get one/ both of them they can adjust to the prem.
