Looks like Onana's off to Villa.
£50 million is a decent return. Hope that means we'll have a couple of incomings soon.

JBtoffee

1.) 13 Jul 2024 11:13:53
Hopefully we get the bulk of the money up front.

2.) 13 Jul 2024 11:30:46
Think it bit low personally we paid 33 for him and we got give lille 20 percent I think we should be looking for 60.

3.) 13 Jul 2024 11:36:13
Agree £50m will do nicely.

4.) 13 Jul 2024 11:55:06
Never saw r.

5.) 13 Jul 2024 11:55:30
Never saw that one coming. Thought it'd be Arsenal myself.

6.) 13 Jul 2024 12:14:43
Just read that it's 20% of any profit we make on selling him so that knocks it down a bit. If true, that is.

7.) 13 Jul 2024 12:53:17
I’d like to see a sell on clause in this one. He’s a class player who is going to get better and very quickly outgrow Villa who I believe will struggle to replicate CL football again. Therefore he’ll get another move so it’d be nice to get some money from that possibility.

8.) 13 Jul 2024 13:56:10
I thought Villa had PSR issues like we do so surprised they can form out £50m.

9.) 13 Jul 2024 14:07:39
Got to be honest but from what I've seen of him 50 million is fine. More bothered about the talk of resigning dele Ali.

10.) 13 Jul 2024 14:31:29
£18m profit for a mediocre player will do just fine.

11.) 13 Jul 2024 14:50:05
With you there Witty mate.

12.) 13 Jul 2024 18:22:28
Villa ran the risk of breaching PSR for the last set of accounts ending June 30th - they made several sales before then which avoided the issue.

They got a considerable sum for David Luis so imagine they’ve used some of that towards the Onana deal - and with purchases you can spread the cost of the purchase over the length of the contract. So if they pay £50m for Onana and he has a 5yr contract as is being reported then it’s only £10m against this PSR period from what I am aware.

Just hope we have a decent replacement lined up.

13.) 13 Jul 2024 20:00:34
But why are you bothered about the Dele deal?
Right now nobody knows what sort of deal he will return on
I think he’s going to be hungry to prove doubters wrong myself, wherever he ends up, and whether with us or elsewhere I hope he does.

14.) 14 Jul 2024 08:27:06
I believe it’s £50m with £5m in add ons if there is a 20% sell on payment on any profit and we paid £33m is £17m in profit which equals £3.4m to who we bought him from . Just on a purely mathematical basis not getting into exact finances and the other unseen costs but hopefully that’s probably £40+m going back into the club.

07 Jul 2024 11:01:06
Romano naming Everton as one of three teams that have agreed terms with Hill for Philogene. This would be a signing I'd be really excited about if we could pull it off.

JBtoffee

{Ed025's Note - me too JB..

1.) 07 Jul 2024 11:27:15
Would be great if we can get him, that’s the sort of player we need.

2.) 07 Jul 2024 12:15:14
Fro the first time in a long time, it feels like we are actually an attractive outfit now.

Dyche's style of footie is not for everyone but at least players know exactly what they are signing up for.

What I want to see is wingers with real pace in the team, like that lad from Hull. I think that would really help us score more goals.

With that stunning piece of architecture at Bramley Moore dock soon to be our home, we are on the up lads and lassies!

{Ed025's Note - lets hope so Scottish mate..

3.) 07 Jul 2024 12:22:49
Dyche would probably say that he got the results and played the style of football his squad was capable of. With some of the players we’ve signed/ hope to sign, he will not be able to make the same claims.

4.) 07 Jul 2024 13:02:10
Sure those days are gone JB, Sean did what was asked of us and kept us up, the footy will change now of that I’m sure good times ahead mate.

5.) 07 Jul 2024 14:14:56
Whittaker from Plymouth, Gnotto from Leeds both better options IMHO- That said very excited by clubs business so fat.

6.) 07 Jul 2024 14:26:24
who you calling fat?

7.) 07 Jul 2024 16:16:53
Would love to sign some young attacking players but think a lot depends on who the other two teams are. Until we are well clear of PSR trouble, I think we will struggle to attract what we need.

8.) 07 Jul 2024 17:19:16
Smg that would be telling. Probably more telling on my fat fingers though.

9.) 08 Jul 2024 10:52:11
I think the Hull lad will be going to Ipswitch. They are doing a deal to take two players from Hull : (.

22 Jun 2024 14:12:37
Davitashvilli, number 9 for Georgia looks a good player. Quick and strong. Playing in the second division in France. Type of players I'd like to see us go in for.

JBtoffee

{Ed002's Note - That is not possible.}

1.) 22 Jun 2024 14:25:49
Work permit?

{Ed002's Note - There is no chance he would get one for the Premier Legue.}

2.) 22 Jun 2024 15:41:12
I thought they’re softened the rules on work permits, Ed? Is that only for youth players?

{Ed002's Note - The amended them to allow for Exceptions- nothing else.}

3.) 23 Jun 2024 08:05:54
Think the country has to be ranked in top 70? Georgia is 70+.

19 Jun 2024 23:04:23
Very confused about this Dobbin story. We're hardly blessed with attacking wide players.

JBtoffee

{Ed025's Note - he obviously doesn,t fit in with the Sean Dyche scheme of things though JB, Danjuma and Harrison were always ahead of him in the pecking order, why i dont know but i wouldn,t blame him if he wanted to go mate..

1.) 19 Jun 2024 23:26:20
Maybe 2 teams looking to balance the books. Playes sold not exchanged. Money comes in and the new players financed over 5years.

2.) 20 Jun 2024 06:52:54
Exactly avro playing ffp games everton villa and chelsea. Feel uneasy that homegrown players will be shipped on early.

3.) 20 Jun 2024 07:03:38
Ed makes a good point though, he wasn’t getting minutes. Is a shame though, really hoped he’d kick on and do well.

4.) 20 Jun 2024 08:09:51
What is the story? I'm on holiday at the minute and haven't seen anything about Dobbin.

{Ed025's Note - Villa are interested in him apparently RON..

5.) 20 Jun 2024 08:56:48
Sad to see this story. I think he has potential to be a top player. I think this will comeback and bite us!

6.) 20 Jun 2024 11:59:24
Wonder what we are rating Dobbin at if villa want £10 mill for this tim lad who i have never heard of?

7.) 20 Jun 2024 15:25:17
Dobbin doesn't really hold any value

not shown anything for EFC in limited minutes, didn't show anything at Derby in particular. when he;s started for Everton or came on at HT he's not shown any glimpses

Tim was a big hit on loan in C'ship at QPR, current Eng u20 international.

Villa fans will be saying the same about them signing unknown Lewis Dobbin.

Reports circulating that we may face another points deduction in May. Just relegate us now and have done with it.

JBtoffee

1.) 01 Dec 2023 12:18:01
Only if there has been further overspends after this punishment JB.

2.) 01 Dec 2023 13:31:50
Club are adamant we are well within limits.

3.) 01 Dec 2023 14:17:07
Wind up click bait.

4.) 01 Dec 2023 14:44:06
Did the spend rule/ cap start again 22/ 23? Excuse my ignorance but we are deducted for being 19 over 21/ 22. From what I read (believe Mr Moshri if I must) the Club as you say insist we are within.

5.) 01 Dec 2023 17:34:05
The manager was asked about it Cookie, so a little more to it than that I fear.
Club were pretty adamant about the last claim too.
My understanding is that it’s any overspend over a 3 year period. If I’m wrong, I’m sure I’ll be shot down very quickly.

6.) 02 Dec 2023 12:11:49
The club was given an opportunity to reprive themselves after approaching the Premier league about the overspend for the 3yrs upto end of 20/ 21 season, but did not adhere to the Premier leagues rules as they kept on spending, even though some were players also sold.
Apparently the commission allowed for £180m overspend for stadium costs, academy, Everton ladies and C.V. etc, so actually we overspent by about £300m in those 3yrs.

I can't bare to hear him talk about our club anymore. It's not a 'narrative' or anything else, we're a poorly organised collection of poor players gathered over a period of time. He wants to blame the fans for getting on his, the staff's and the players backs, well give something to be positive about. I've not been this disillusioned as an Everton fan in 20 years. Feels desperate at the moment.

JBtoffee

1.) 25 Aug 2024 10:08:41
Think you have just said what many are feeling JB.

24 Aug 2024 22:36:01
Said it earlier, will say it again. Get out of our club, no excuses, not good enough. Something has to change, now.

JBtoffee

19 Aug 2024 18:33:09
How is it that Forest, as a team that fell foul of FFP regs, seem to be freely spending in the transfer market? I do hope that we are still able to sign a couple more, we need them.

JBtoffee

1.) 19 Aug 2024 19:07:04
Looks like we are signing Begovic again, think Dyche is going for 4 keepers at the back. It's not like we need to score goals just don't let anymore in.

19 Aug 2024 16:19:15
Thierry Henry in the dugout anyone?

JBtoffee

1.) 19 Aug 2024 16:49:31
Perhaps in the visitors dugout, but do you not think it a bit of a risk in ours?

2.) 19 Aug 2024 17:10:54
Thought he was absolutely phenomenal as a player but have no clue about him as a coach.

He would certainly have some pull in the transfer market that is for sure.

3.) 19 Aug 2024 17:15:33
Possibly, but I’d be quite happy to see our team take the odd risk, better that than submit to a 2-0 defeat with 20 minutes still to go.

4.) 19 Aug 2024 17:51:02
Yes as an attack coach. Not for me as head coach tho. Can't afford the risk of getting relegated before moving into our new home.

If I had to name someone I'd go for Lee carsley.

5.) 19 Aug 2024 18:31:56
Lee Carsley has less experience of coaching club football than Henry. Still think Potter’s the obvious choice.

6.) 19 Aug 2024 19:24:43
I’d take Potter. Was very impressed with his Swansea and Brighton days.

19 Aug 2024 08:02:36
Hopefully, the agenda today is pushing some sales and incomings. After another lacklustre performance, I think we should let Dom go to the highest bidder, his heart doesn't look in it for me. Keep Branthwaite. Try to offload Keane and Holgate. Sign a new striker, a new full back and one more winger (with pace! ) . That's my daydream for a Monday morning.

JBtoffee

1.) 19 Aug 2024 09:44:55
Blimey mate that would be brilliant, we can all dream eh totally agree with all of that.

2.) 19 Aug 2024 09:58:50
Don’t think we will buy anymore wingers. We have 4 players who can play on the wing and Ashley Young who shouldn’t be near the first team but Dyche will play him and he can lay winger also.

Definitely need a striker. It’s beyond farcical. Go get the lad from Luton or someone else who will graft. If Dom is not interested in signing a new contract before the end of the month, he has to go before the window closes. Beto is not the answer.

3.) 19 Aug 2024 10:14:08
We can live in hope. Unfortunately according to our esteemed leader they would need to have Premier League experience to get anywhere near the team sheet.

4.) 19 Aug 2024 11:01:23
We have four players who can lay on the wing. Trouble is none of them are wingers.

The press haven’t been shy in heaping misery on Everton is recent months. I’m surprised that, if there was a real threat of administration, they haven’t been all over it. You’d like to think that Textor has a plan.

JBtoffee

{Ed002's Note - Textor needs to sell his interest in Crystal Palace before he can do anything but stare at Everton from outside.}

Man U did not employ him to succeed Sir Alex because everyone thought he was a terrible manager. At the very least we were always combative and passionate. The players, largely, respected and responded to Moyes. Not sure that's true of Dyche.

JBtoffee

{Ed025's Note - im not Dyche,s biggest fan at all JB but i would sooner carry on with him than have Golum back mate, that last game gave me hope until the last few minutes and yes he balls it up big time with his game management especially with the substitutions but for me it would be a backward step to employ Moyes, and i dont think the majority of the fans would accept him after the cloud he left under as well as the dour football we were playing, try someone new by all means but lets not get visited by the ghost of Christmas past i say..

Is there any substance to this really or is this just the press putting two and two together to fill the back pages. If Dyche was going before the Villa game, they should have pulled the trigger already. Moyes feels like a like for like replacement. Need a fresh approach, someone who can inject a bit of energy into the role.

Hmmm. I’m not convinced yet. Is it just me or does he like the sound of his own voice too much? He’s making an awful lot of statements about a club he doesn’t own. Having said all that, he does at least speak positively about the future and about bringing top quality players to the club.

All fair points. As I said yesterday, we’d all have been waxing lyrical about the performance if it’d stayed at 2-0. Dyche is paid to make the big calls on subs etc, and they were wrong yesterday. Could it have been worse if he’d gone more positive/ more defensive? Well it couldn’t have been much worse could it? The pressure grows again and the club look foolish.

Have to say, I agree. We had pace on the bench in Lindstom and Dixon that would have pushed Bournemouth back, and defensive options in O’Brien and even Young could have dropped in at right back a and pulled Seamus into a back three. So inept it’s untrue.

JBtoffee

{Ed025's Note - listen guys i have not really commented on yesterday as i wanted to revisit the crime scene and watch the game again to avoid a knee jerk reaction, my take on things is that i am more confident of survival than i was before the game because we actually played like a team, first half was good but the second half was very good except for the debacle at 86 minutes and we could and maybe should have been out of sight by then, has this made me a fan of SD?...hell no, but what he has at his disposal now is players that can score and create goals which gives us a decent chance in games, now i know that does not excuse the defeat yesterday but it does give us a fighting chance i believe, yes its a shambolic start but its 3 games in and im stating now that we are going to be alright....and no im not turning into my old friend GB :) COYB..
