EFC in talks with Newcastle to sell Gordon according to Sky. No fee mentioned. If we get decent fee I'd sell.
Sky also say we are interested in ex Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl - if that one's true it's bizarre and shows what a mess this club is in. So he's rubbish at Southampton we a few nine goals against games and bird think he's the man for us!
Other rumours of Onana missing training and Arsenal interested. Be Pickford to Spurs next.
I did wonder if Moshiri is stripping the club of assets selling players he can raise few
Million for and then EFC go into administration. I know that sounds ridiculous but nothing surprises me with Everton these days. Disengaged and sad Evertonian. Jack.

Just thought. Maybe when Moshiri was caught off guard by sky cameras and reporter leaving West Ham when asked about sacking Frank and said "it's not my decision" - who's is it then - maybe Usmanov's?

I do wonder about how much influence Usmanov has especially as recent reports of Usmanov being present at previous interviews for EFC managers jobs.

One thing I can't understand is how successful businessman who are billionaires can get things so badly wrong at running a football club. Make same mistakes over and over again. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Like old Frank will be sacked and we start all over again on the same cycle.

I'm sick of it to be honest. But I'm not sure where we go from here. It's scandalous what's happened over last few years.

Just which someone would get a grip and sort it out.

Rant over!

Running a business is easier than a football club. If you buy a football club leave the running of it to those who understand football. By all means keep tabs on finances, but don't get involved in the day to day running of things you don't know like football.

Frank has got to go. I know the squad is poor but I'd get more of a tune out of the players we have. Most of them don't seem arsed either. Worst thing is I'm now almost disengaged from EFC. Accepted were likely to go down this season. Or more likely, in typical EFC style we will rally towards the end of the season, get a few results but still go down on goal difference or a bizarre VAR decision. ?.

Alex Iwobi was man of the match today. Been out best player in three games this season. Some people on here state he can’t pass. Load nonsense. Don’t know what games you’ve been watching!

Jack Carter

1.) 20 Aug 2022 21:45:23
He's been our best player for 10 games on the trot now. He was brilliant today.

2.) 20 Aug 2022 21:46:46
He was excellent today. Our best player by far. He didn't stop running. I was one of his critics, when he deserved it. But credit where it's due, he's been like a new signing these last 3 games.

3.) 20 Aug 2022 21:50:01
Jack
He can’t! If your happy with that so be it, I’m not! Applaud his effort but that alone doesn’t make him a good player!
Opinions but in mine Iwobi still isn’t the answer.

4.) 20 Aug 2022 21:56:56
Frank has certainly turned him around.

5.) 20 Aug 2022 22:02:37
His passing needs improvement for sure but I don't think anyone's passing was great today.
But Iwobi got stuck in today with the tackles and they found it hard to get past him. He's improving but just needs to be more precise with his through-balls. i'm happy with him so far this season.

6.) 21 Aug 2022 08:00:30
Don't know where you sit Jack but he certainly needs to work on his passing. Certainly improved and looks much more comfortable in his present position. Don't know where he will play if (big if) Gueye comes. That three would be Doucoure Gueye Onana in a 5 3 2 or 4 3 3.

7.) 21 Aug 2022 11:20:39
GB Frank turned him round eh! Thought he was 'Dead' now he's 'Alive'.

8.) 21 Aug 2022 22:46:53
I’d play 433 don’t think this five at back if include full backs / wing backs is working as we get over run in midfield. I’d play usual goalie full backs and tarkowski / coady for now and Godfrey when fit for bit of pace. Gana or A N Other, Onana as box to box player with Iwobi as number 10 behind DCL or AN Other striker - Iwobi could track back n all. Gordon on right or gray if Gordons sold. McNeil on left. I’d sell or loan or get shut any way poss Gbamin, Allan, Gomes, Mina, Keane and give some youth a chance or get some younger players from elsewhere - other teams seem to find em. They’re you go DFS not a bad plan eh. What do you reckon? Jack.

FFP Question. How do teams such as PSG balance the books with such large outlays of transfer fees and wages (e. g. Messi wages and apparently turn down £189M for Mbappe and he'll go for free next year) Because the money coming in would not balance this out is my understanding.

Unless the rich owner does something like I'll pay you £200M to advertise my company or for sponsorship deal when ordinarily this would be say £10M or a lot less than the £200M that's recorded in the books. Don't UEFA get onto these apparent loopholes? I just don't understand it. I'd appreciate it if there was anyone out there who could help me to understand this FFP system. Thanks in advance. Jack.

Being in the Champions League every year helps due to the finance that generates plus the prize money from domestic competitions
Sponsorship is another huge money spinner to balance the books, I believe Man City were investigated for the sponsorship of the Etihad as it’s sponsorship was disproportionate to other naming deals
Then you add in other deals like shirt sponsors where values are again linked to exposure so again a team in the CL will get better rates
Then there’s match day revenue, more feet through the turnstiles plus corporate and hospitality makes a huge financial difference
PSG are probably hoping Mbappe extends his deal to honour the verbal agreement of not leaving for free but we’ve seen how these verbal agreements mean jack like with Kane.

Number of papers now saying Nuno will be named as new manager next week.

I'm not overly enthused if I'm honest.

What do others think?

I supported Martinez when he was appointed
Same with Silva
Same with Koeman
Same with CA
I even recognised the need for Allardyce at the time

All have been disappointing failures to me so I am going to be different with Nuno

I am skeptical he is the right man for Everton. I don't like the way he plays most of the time. I don't like this agent who seems to be heavily involved. I don't the entourage that he will bring with him

I will be hoping against hope that he will prove me wrong and I will be singing his praises in 12-18 months time instead of seeing us start the same sorry mess over again

This smells of another Moshiri appointment - not a Brands appointment but I've been wrong before and hope I am wrong this time

COYB NSNO.

Alan Myers said earlier today this on Twitter:

“I don’t expect any news today, or probably not over the weekend either. ”

Think you may have your wires crossed there.

Disappointed big time if Rafa gets it. As others have said what’s he done lately. Won Europa league with Chelsea with a very good squad. Apart from that what’s he done since left the other shower in 2010?
Game has moved on as well. His style reminds me of Mourinho - he hasn’t adapted and I’m not sure Rafa has. After last season and some turgid games to watch would like to see some better football.
I’d be happy not qualifying for Europe for a few seasons if we had a complete rebuilt and different ethos at the club. We need young players coming through, young players being bought with sell on value and EFC to have an identity of how we play. Then when a manager leaves another one takes over a hopefully we’ll oiled system at the club. Basically use Brands for what he was appointed for.
Mr Moshiri has invested millions and we have a new stadium on horizon because of him so can’t knock him too much. But we’ve wasted a hell of a lot of money since he came. And we’re about to appoint our sixth manager (think it’s six) in five years. Something wrong somewhere.
I’d go for a younger manager not someone like Rafa. He has already divided the fans big time.
As others including Big Nev have said. I’d even give Big Dunc a go if need be.
Haven’t got all the answers and don’t know who is out there as a young upcoming manager but there must be someone. All the ones mentioned to date I’m not impressed with at all.
Sorry long post I’ll shut up now!

I was wondering about that. Is he going to sell as many as he can to recoup as much cash as he can?

This was in echo poll JCW:

From over 2,200 answers, 72.4% of those who took part did not want to see the former Liverpool boss in charge at Goodison

That’s just a small snapshot. I personally think you’re wrong and it’s a sizeable proportion of our fans not a vocal minority who don’t want Rafa.

There’s images going round of messages put up around Goodison that say “Benitez not welcome” and another with more offensive language “Rafa f**k off you fat Spanish c**t” and if they are real I can’t see the board following through with the appointment with things like that being placed around the ground.
My personal view is the appointment is too divisive of the fan base and best left alone.
