Heard from a good source today that Usmanov is unofficially involved with the investment regarding the new stadium which will be called The Gazprom Arena in a massive naming rights deal. Usmanov was a director of Gazprom but not anymore. If this is true it is this kind of business the club has been missing for years. This will give us a massive spending boost to get around the financial fair play rules which a lot of people forget about especially if we can push on over next few years this will give us the push into the top 4.

1.) 18 May 2019 21:58:18
So our new stadium won't be unique as Zenit St. Petersburg already play in a Gazprom Arena. As for Usmanov been unofficially involved, how will that work? Surely FFP rules will come into play. Look at what's happening to Man City and their alleged breaking of FFP rules.

2.) 18 May 2019 22:27:58
Donn - He used to be a director until 2014 but isn’t anymore if he influences his “mate” to sponsor the stadium there’s nothing wrong with that. With USM sponsoring the training ground it and also a different shirt sponsor this spreads out sponsorship over several companies not mainly one like city and Etihad which is owned by the same people. That’s where city have slipped up as they have paid £60+ million into bank from the owners account and not from Etihads account which shows its him personally funding both using Etihad as a front basically which although we all know already but is officially not allowed.
Why will naming the ground Gazprom effect the design etc not being unique. The stadium can still be brilliant, unique everything we want it to be and be called Gazprom Arena people aren’t going to say what a stadium would be the best if it wasn’t called Gazprom?

3.) 18 May 2019 22:35:55
Donn - Unless Usmanov was officially involved at Everton it doesn’t even matter if he sponsored Everton 100% as he’s not involved and has sold Arsenal shares also.

4.) 18 May 2019 23:08:02
Well personally I would not want our stadium having the same name as another. Now I go back to the unofficial part. All sponsorship has to be official and above board. If Usmanov wants to be generous that's fair enough. It's just the "unofficial" part that worrys me.

5.) 18 May 2019 23:44:37
I just meant we all know his relationship with Moshiri and many have expected him to invest in Everton after he sold his Arsenal shares although that’s not materialised. yet. I may have possibly used the wrong word “unofficially” it does sound underhand as there is nothing wrong with getting your wealthy friends to sponsor or invest in your club. Which is what seems to be happening with Everton at the moment and is good to see as we have been miles away with our sponsorship and kit deals.

6.) 18 May 2019 23:49:54
Donn - Regarding the naming rights whoever offers the most money is surely what counts. There is not many big enough companies who will be able to afford what we should want as it will be a prime stadium on Liverpool’s waterfront. Gazprom are one of those who are involved in sports and football.

7.) 19 May 2019 14:25:30
Call it whatever you want as long as its built. Cant see usmanov getting involved tho. Why would he give us loads ov money just to name the stadium when he could buy shares in us if he wanted to be involved with everton.

8.) 19 May 2019 14:37:59
I think in regards to big sponsorship deals like staduim naming rights etc, the ooky deals are spotted when the club are asked eho the other bids were from, I think City were rumbled on something like that a few years ago, let's face it though everyone in Uefa and European football knows that City have been bankrolled by a sugar daddy, its probably wrong. but we would all love it to be Everton.

9.) 20 May 2019 19:32:02
So if you don’t want Gazprom Arena as it’s used elsewhere just call it the Gazprom Stadium job done.

10.) 20 May 2019 23:18:51
The reason why Usmanov hasn't invested in Everton or any other EPL club is the poor diplomatic relations between Russia and UK. Must of heard Abramavitch has now using Israeli passport to enter UK, once this improves including energy deals he will invest.

I just thought out midfield let us down tonight Gomez was very very poor, Schneiderlin was a bit better but never offered much more nor did Gylfi whilst he was on.
Why would we change Gbamin?
I thought Keane and Mina where good tonight and didn't do much wrong .
But we wouldn't be Everton if they didn't let us down when we just get some hope/ belief again. COYB.

Jaybo82

{Ed025's Note - our midfield was a joke jay, i know DCL cant hit a bulls arse with a banjo but he cant do much when the midfield offer nothing mate..

1.) 23 Aug 2019 22:18:50
To many chances missed Ed025 1 goal in three games must be addressed we lost to a poor side that I don’t believe thought they would beat us but to many players off form this early in the season is worrying.

{Ed025's Note - villa are a poor side wakka your right, unfortunately we were worse than them tonight mate..

2.) 23 Aug 2019 22:20:12
I doubt we could beat Caldicot girl guides second eleven at this rate lol.

{Ed025's Note - it would probably be 0-0 nick, and im not sure which side DCL would be playing for either mate..

3.) 23 Aug 2019 22:29:19
Gbamin was injured .

4.) 23 Aug 2019 22:29:28
Gbamin is injured and Gylfi although physically on the pitch is still not mentally or spiritually back from his wedding.

{Ed025's Note - he needs to get off the nest then CT, him gomez and morgan were bloody awful tonight mate..

5.) 23 Aug 2019 22:24:06
If anybody comes on here praising Silva I will know they are reds. That was crap to be polite, top six ha ha ha.

{Ed0666's Note - I don’t understand mate you guys were purring first 5-10 mins and I thought it was gonna be a rout. Clearly the goal changed the climate and it all went downhill from there. How did Walcott miss?

6.) 23 Aug 2019 22:34:58
The midfield was an absolute Joke tonight, however DCL is definitely out of his depth in the premiership and needs to be shipped out on loan to the championship for a year or two.
Siggy is struggling so far, Walcott should be benched for good, and Gomes needs to repay the money we spent by putting in a shift.
Other than that things are looking good 😭.

{Ed0666's Note - Don’t forget Mina

7.) 23 Aug 2019 22:36:42
We were to pedestrian going forward and made it easy for Villa to get men behind the ball. If we harbor thoughts and ambitions of breaking the top 6 we need to go to places like Villa and dominate from the off and play the game at our tempo which should be a lot quicker. I said in the live chat that it's like pre season during the season with how late our new players came in and also how late Ricky came back. There is no excuse for how off the pace Siggy is as he has had a full pre season. Maybe it's time to rest Ricky and drop DCL, and maybe try Bernard as a No.10 in a similar role Silva plays at City. If we are to progress this season we need to play better against inferior opposition.

8.) 23 Aug 2019 22:59:08
On coach back now and I’m sorry boys but that was not good enough. Hard to pick out our best player. Sig not at the races, Gomes too = we massively going to struggle. DCL has too much to do on his own and ain’t good enough at this level yet. What sticks in my throat is AV are poor and I mean relegation poor! . That’s x3 games gone and we SHOULD have had x7 points in the bag imo.

9.) 23 Aug 2019 23:41:43
Let’s hope this puts a bit of pressure on Silva to drop certain players ie DCL, Gylfi hopefully gives the latter a kick up the arse as been poor.

10.) 23 Aug 2019 23:44:44
Completely agree Blu1.

11.) 24 Aug 2019 08:33:57
I’m concerned Mina is our David Luiz - looks like Van Dijk one week then Bramble the next.

12.) 24 Aug 2019 10:51:36
3 games is his most consecutive starts for us was the stat I saw. The lad has had injury troubles which are hopefully behind him now. He needs to get a few more games under his belt yet. I agree though he does sometimes worry me on the ball. If he can recreate his performances for Colombia we will have a good defender.

13.) 24 Aug 2019 12:24:06
I know most watch the game, I also know those that do. Know Gomez slows the game down. Quandary, we are stuck with a person unequipped to get the best out of what by any measure is a very good squad.

14.) 23 Aug 2019 12:43:59
We get slagged DC, the fact is we have now a brilliant DoF recruiting the best but coached by a proven failure. Add to that the very close involvement of a very famous agent whose only interest is not Everton's and we are stuffed.

15.) 23 Aug 2019 12:45:11
This is probably one of the best Squads we have had. I and others have said over and over again, that we have to take advantage of that.

08 Aug 2019 21:37:48
Didn't know what to think about Iwobi but on the Everton Instagram page there seems to be a lot of love for him from Arsenal fans so he must good. Well at least better than I thought, fingers crossed he is. Seemed to be in and out at Arsenal and hopefully a good run of games and he can be a good addition.

Jaybo82

1.) 08 Aug 2019 22:55:25
Iwobi is very underated still young with regular football will be amazing, I reckon better than Richarleson, he exites me.

2.) 09 Aug 2019 00:30:53
Big strong and quick. I've always hated his name on the team sheet against us. With a good run of games and a few goals (fingers crossed) could turn out to be a cracking signing.

06 Aug 2019 23:57:29
Rather than paying over the odds for Zaha as for me £80m is too much, I was happy at £65m and 2 players off the books.
Why are we not looking at Everton Soares from Gremio had a great Copa America with Richarlison and would surely cost much less than Zaha as interest seems to have gone in him once Arsenal got Pepe. Gremio are looking to sell and surely with Richarlison, Bernard he would jump at joining us.

Jaybo82

1.) 07 Aug 2019 05:09:41
I’ve read arsenal walked away from the deal because his rights were owned by a third party. However, it would be fantastic to buy an Everton kit with Everton on the back haha.

2.) 07 Aug 2019 08:01:02
He is a LW and we are looking for a RW, might be why we haven’t pursued him.

3.) 07 Aug 2019 09:01:02
also clubs have got reservsations on signing everton as not sure wether he could make the jump at a sufficient level.

4.) 07 Aug 2019 22:32:03
Preston - He is right footed though so guess he can play both and probably suits cutting in off the left.
Denver - Has to be something more to it as can’t believe no one has gone for him looks quality and looking for a move to Europe.

27 Jul 2019 22:12:45
Seriously think if we sign Moise Kean we have potentially a good player in a few years but is he going to get us 20 goals next year or even the year after? I doubt it so still think we need a Striker.
17 Games 7 Goals Last season for Juve in all competitions I think and the year before on loan at Verona 20 Games 4 Goals. Not great playing for the best team in Italy with the chances they create.
I also can't understand why we let Kenny go on loan with out a replacement in line to come in, now I think it was right he needs a year or two playing regular to be first team at Everton if at all, but not if it leaves us short.

Jaybo82

1.) 27 Jul 2019 23:14:57
Not great? Jay I, Dybala only scored 8 in the same team, quite hard to compete with Ronaldo who scored over 20 for Juventus last season. I think 7 from Kean is a decent return based on the other 2 strikers at the club.

2.) 27 Jul 2019 23:50:37
Gingerdan - I completely agree mate 7 goals from a very young player is decent and I hope we do sign him, I just don’t think we can expect more than 10 goals from him next season so for me if we want to get into Europe we still need a striker even if just for 1-2 seasons. A proven goal scorer ie Costa, Dzeko type of players and I know it’s not that easy but even if we can do a year loan for someone this would let Kean settle and take some pressure of a young striker who I think some people are thinking due to his value and that he’s at Juventus is the answer to our striker problem. I think he certainly could be but I doubt he will be immediately. That’s the point I’m making and I pray he comes and makes me eat my words.

3.) 27 Jul 2019 23:52:56
Gingerdan - Dybala was a different level he is world class and was always tipped to be world class.

4.) 27 Jul 2019 23:59:13
Gingerdan - Sorry miss read your point on Dybala with my last reply.
Hasn’t he been playing more of a No.10 now so don’t think we can compare the two, I know who I’d have if had the option.

5.) 28 Jul 2019 09:28:21
People say we need a striker who is going to get us 20 goals a season. In the last 3 seasons less than a handful of players a season have got 20+ goals in the league. It’s not like it’s easy to come by a striker who scores 20+ goals a season.

{Ed025's Note - no one is saying it will be easy CT but its something we have been lacking since lukaku left, DCL and even tosun have some good attributes but unfortunately hitting the back of the net is not one of them mate..

6.) 28 Jul 2019 11:47:19
Oh I totally agree Ed that it’s a position we’ve been sorely lacking in since Lukaku. I just think people shouldn’t write off a young striker that we are looking to sign when that guy has a good goal scoring record but is not necessarily the finished article. That’s basically how we got Lukaku in the first place.

{Ed025's Note - im not writing DCL off CT, he is a fine young player who i think has a good future in the game, but i think a top striker is important for us and it would also be good for DCL to learn from him mate..

7.) 28 Jul 2019 15:42:08
Ha ha I think we’re singing from the same hymn sheet Ed. I’m talking about Kean being a good option ;p DCL definitely needs competition up top.

{Ed025's Note - i think we are mate..

8.) 28 Jul 2019 18:27:16
That’s exactly my point Ed.
CToffee - I think Kean will be a great signing but it’s not a player I feel will make an immediate impact hence me thinking we need a good striker. I know it’s not easy but if we are to get in to Europe we need one.

{Ed025's Note - very much so jaybo..

Mourinho for me as we can’t risk taking a chance on another unknown or up and coming manager. The excuses need to stop and Mourinho or Benitez are proven at the top.

I don’t think Southgate would leave the England job nor would he be sacked easily, as he was coached specifically for that job for years. All from coaching youth England teams to U21’s specifically brought through by the FA to do things how they want going forward (basically a yes man) Working so far!

DaveW1878 I agree. He’s still got unwanted players we have no choice but to use and heard people saying change formation, play 2 up front?
We haven’t got 1 Striker good enough to play never mind 2!
The players need to step up for me especially in final 3rd as we are creating chances 10+ shots today NO GOALS.

Everton Suares would surely be a good signing and a lot less than Zaha. Gremio looking to sell and would surely come with Richarlison and Bernard here.

Jimmy - Completely agree mate and for me exactly what we needed to do. Couldn't afford to take a risk on another unproven manager, gone with not only the best available as I'm hearing but one of the best managers over the last 20 years.

Don’t know how anyone can blame Silva? The only decision he’s got wrong is still playing DCL but I can understand (but don’t agree) not wanting to throw Kean in fully too. DCL didn’t lose us that game tonight it was the 5-6 players who didn’t turn up and when that many players don’t turn up what can the manager do?
For me he made the changes I would of chasing the game maybe left Bernard on for DCL but was chasing the game and went 2 up top so understand choice. Nobody on the bench to replace Gomez so don’t understand anyone moaning about Manager.
