I've heard a few rumours recently that we are interested in signing jadon sancho in January. To me it makes sense, we seem to have a good relationship with man u regarding January loans. Was wondering if anyone else had heard this, what your thoughts would be, and if there is any truth in it.

1.) 20 Nov 2022 19:02:24
Already got our loans. We'd have to buy one of them to get another loan in, or cancel one of them but I doubt that would happen.

2.) 21 Nov 2022 12:24:47
Vinagre could be cancelled. Has done or offered nothing. I'd sign Coady in January buy not sure if we can sign him earlier than length of loan deal.

3.) 24 Nov 2022 17:20:50
We can sign Coady at any point for the agreed fee is my understanding and I would if it freed up a loan spot for another player.

This time Monday or Tuesday was our best window EVER and Brands was about to get knighted. Yes, its dissaponiting not to have signed a CB and rw, but still an amazing window. The rw can still be interchange, using bernard and even Walcott, and the cb we have Keane, Mina and backups holgate and gbamin. I'd rather risk it rather than panic on 25m Rojos and 100m Zaha.

May take some luck staying injury free, but we can reassess and go for players we want for non desperate prices again in January if needed.

2.) 08 Aug 2019 17:17:55
I don't think anyone wanted rojo, I certainly didn't. And since when was Zaha 100mil?

I do think we have done well this window but I also think the squad is weaker than last season.

Gana gone, yes we have replaced him but with Delph on the decline and an untested gbamin. Zouma gone and no one in. A right back on loan who I assume is just back up? I thought Coleman was great the back end of last year. And an untested teenage striker and possibly iwobi.

I am not slating MB or MS at all I think they have done a great job at addressing some issues with the squad. I just think with Zouma gone and no replacement it leaves a massive hole in the team and a lot of pressure for mina to perform.

{Ed025's Note - yeah mina has to step up chris..

3.) 08 Aug 2019 17:42:01
Exactly Chris. No quality Centre back ruins the window in my opinion. I'm worried now.

4.) 08 Aug 2019 18:15:53
But when we signed Mina last year everyone was calling it another Brands masterstroke. Injuries and Zouma kept him out last year. Now we'll see how good he really is, and if he's bad we can look elsewhere in 4 months, not panic and buy Rojo for 25m.
Most foreigner youngsters are untested when coming here. And we couldn't get a young right back to replace Coleman so replaced him on a year loan with a world cup winning international. Phenomenal young striker signed. A lot of older and not needed players shipped out. Unsure on Iwobi if it goes through, but give him a chance (possibly a panic buy) but I think an amazing window. Supposedly we offered 65m plus Tosun (20m) and McCarthy (10m) and palace wanted 100m. Too much in my opinion. Only downside for me was waiting too long for Zouma, where to be fair Chelsea said all along no. But overall hats of to everyone at Everton who's played their part in it. Roll on Saturday.

5.) 08 Aug 2019 18:51:06
I wouldn't say it ruined it BT but it is a worry. I hope Mina can step up.

Just seen a rumour in a few outlets we are after Julian Weigl from Dortmund as a replacement for Guaye, and is available for €30m. Any truth in this at all? Or are we too far down the line for the Mainz player. don't know much about the Mainz man, but Weigl is an awesome player and a steal at that price.

Kingo78

{Ed002's Note - I would very much doubt this. His price will be way higher and the plan is that BM will buy him next year.}

1.) 31 Jul 2019 10:25:52
Kind of thought as much. They say it's a release fee of 30 though. But a transfer usually takes a while (years if we are Everton) so would've thought it's a bit late in the day for a new name.

{Ed002's Note - Any release clause is not relevant. Arsenal have been keen in the past and Manchester City have looked. Bayern also have a Plan B for next year who could become a plan A.}

2.) 31 Jul 2019 13:34:47
How is the release clause not relevant, is it just for weigl, bundesliga players who have a release clause or is there more additional fees that are in the release clauses.

{Ed002's Note - You would do best to ignore all “clauses”. I have explained before.}

3.) 01 Aug 2019 00:52:56
Cheers for the reply, i understand where you're coming from as there is always complications such as the suarez to arsenal debacle and the griezmann to barca. The main point i know is that all la liga players have a buy out clause in the contracts. I personally believe that all players should have release clauses but in relation to the contract so that the team buys out the contract instead. If that makes sense.

I also think that fifa need to set out a international rule that correlates to the longest contract in place and make sure no contract goes past that date so they can change how the transfer market works because it seems outdated compared to other sports. Sorry for the sidetrack on this thread.

{Ed002's Note - (a) No chance of that ever happening. (b) I don't understand.}

4.) 01 Aug 2019 14:26:34
Cheers for the replu, and i was tired when i said this, i meant if football changed its ways to how USA sports use a draft system instead of this current system. And i know they won't change it due to different fa's and continental competitions.

{Ed002's Note - The draft system is unrelated to soccer.}

5.) 01 Aug 2019 15:35:52
Cheers for the reply. And i forgot that the MLS use a different system. On a side note, keep up the good work that you along with the other eds are doing on this platform.

Sorry for the dumb question, but was just reading on sky sports that digne us injured for France at the moment. It mentions the Everton star, currently on loan from Barcelona. I thought we signed him. Have I imagined we'd signed him or not?

Kingo78

{Ed002's Note - Digne is an Everton player Kingo.}

Any truth in the Bernat link or is it just the Liverpool Echo hoping or linking us with anyone to make a better newspaper?
I got one was hoping for Kurzawa from PSG, but I reckon Bernat could be an even better signing.

I think we've all had the same grumble tonight (and rightly so) , but i think this is where we, as fans, have to stand up (cos it's seems majority of players aren't) and become the 12th, 13th and 14th man for the rest of the season and make sure our club doesn't go down the s****y any quicker and HOPE for a massive improvement next season. We all have the right to have a moan away from the grounds, but when in the stadiums, this is when the team needs us to get behind them more than ever.

Kingo78

1.) 08 Mar 2022 00:23:05
That’s the problem. For years we’ve heard this nonsense from people about “the support is so toxic lad” but the players are awful away from home and we’re atrocious at Goodison without the fans. It’s not that they need us more than ever, it’s that they need us full stop, shows how mentally weak they are. Liverpool could take no fans to the Etihad or Old Trafford and their players would still probably get the job done. That’s the difference, our players are mentally weak.

2.) 08 Mar 2022 00:47:17
I remember when Brands made a statement about the players he wanted to recruit and he said their character was an important factor. Well he got it wrong about the players he recruited, no character, no passion and no heart.

3.) 08 Mar 2022 09:06:35
Brands didn’t recruit all of these no shows mate.

We're going down quicker than Katie Prices knickers. Norwich, Watford then?

Think I agree with you Skylark. THINK (Haha) . Undoubtedly had a great season last year, needs to carry it through to be classed as a top player. Didn't really impress me pre-Ancelotti, and needs to carry it on now. (We don't have any better though and aren't in a position to attract any top class just yet)

Wonder if anyone can help me out please. As a regular visitor to Goodison, perhaps 10 years ago now, I've decided my daughter is old enough to come to a game (from South Wales) before Goodison is no more. I want her to get the full experience and would like her to see the players arriving at the ground before the game. Does anyone know what time they arrive, and is it still by the car park? Thanks.

Kingo78

1.) 13 Feb 2022 21:50:18
Yes Park end car park. From a couple of hours before match. But contact club directly and see what they can do to support u as super fans.

2.) 13 Feb 2022 23:29:01
Dont ruin the magic for her! ?????.

3.) 13 Feb 2022 23:41:03
Haha. Pauly. She's really not that bothered just yet. Taken plenty of bribes.
Thanks Honcho. Will do.

4.) 14 Feb 2022 22:06:50
I think Frank has changed this now and wanted the players to travel together to both the home and away games. They all got off the coach at the main stand main entrance on Saturday so might be best going there. However, if you get into the ground early they go round and sign autographs and take pictures when warming up.

Let's be honest. 2nd half was dire, clueless. But reading on here that the whole squad needs replacing. Come on. First half could've been 4 up if not for Adrian making some good saves. Our midfield, which is full of injuries, is our downfall at the moment. But if reports are true, Rabiot and James Rodriguez could make a huge difference. Don't know why some people support us, the amount of negativity on here. Almost as annoying at some performances.

Kingo78

1.) 05 Jan 2020 19:26:40
Kingo we had 3-4 good chances in 1st that we wasted by hitting them straight at Adrian. That’s not luck or great saves, that’s poor finishing. There is nothing positive to take from today’s performance and result. That was Liverpools u-18 team, Villa are struggling at the minute but still put 4-5 past them 2 weeks ago. This is the most embarrassing result I can remember and I have been a blue for 35+ years.

2.) 05 Jan 2020 20:18:01
I think we all agree with you Joe.

3.) 05 Jan 2020 20:52:10
I keep seeing people use the Villa result as some kind of comparison but Klopp wasn't in charge for that game was he? He gave them that belief at half time to go out and play whereas we took the foot off the gas and let them keep the ball.

If we had converted one of the many decent chances we had in the first half hour then who knows how the game would have turned out. We are still in the same position as we've been in all season, we really need a striker who is proflific and will take his chances. At least the window is now open, hopefully they will sort one out.

Second half was abysmal but this team is going to change quite a bit over the next few windows and CA can put his stamp on things. Horrible way to lose, great finish by their lad.

Will always support anyone associated with Everton (unless there's an extreme) but never rated Silva. Always seen him as Brown Shoes in disguise. Can not see the board doing anything with him though just yet, considering how badly they wanted him. Weren't we willing to pay Watford 15m at one stage for him (so say rumours and press) . However, at present I can't see where we favour. Undoubtedly we have better players than we have had for years, but what are we better at. Defending? Attacking? Creating chances? I'm not so sure. But he is still in charge of Everton, and while he is, he doesn't need another obstacle against him, ie us!

As some sort of cover, I'd avoid the man Utd trio at all costs. Errors in them all and confidence not great, but I'd take Cahill. His leadership and experience in the training ground would help if nothing else.

But if his move to Stoke was simply about getting him back playing after his injury, surely it was successful after playing 34 games for them. He wasn't good enough there and they were happy for him to go out again. He showed his old worth back at us and want to take another look at him.

Who else would you have gone for that would've come. or would you have stuck with rafa. Until we improve our defenders, I think anyone would struggle with what we've got on offer.

I think Watford and Norwich will go down. But as it is now I think Newcastle are better than us, palace are probably better, Southampton are, maybe Leeds? Its going to be close and we got a fairly tough run in.
