Well it's started about Barcelona are going to trigger the buy back clause on Del boy of €9million. I know this doesn't happen very often but in his current form why wouldn't they.

lancerboy

1.) 17 Nov 2015 13:22:38
Because he still wouldn't get anywhere near their team. I think they will wait, as they have an option at the end of 2016/17 to buy him again so can afford to see if he develops.

2.) 17 Nov 2015 13:43:00
Think that Hat Trick for the Spanish u21's is proof enough mate along with his form for us this season so far. He's a different player not the same as he was for Barcelona and can only get better. They knew what they were doing when they put that buy back clause on him.

3.) 17 Nov 2015 14:08:00
And before anybody tells me to stop panicking i'm not just passing on what I read today lol.

4.) 17 Nov 2015 20:54:31
this won't happen yet so don't panic, Barcelona will wait until the clause nears the end before taking action.

5.) 18 Nov 2015 01:30:24
Delboy is a blue mate he loves it here plus he's a guaranteed starter he's not going anywhere

6.) 18 Nov 2015 11:27:23
What exactly are the terms of the contract? If Barcelona offer the pre-agreed amount are we obliged to take it?

Just for the record I don't want to see him go. Defended him on here before. Just wondering if its pre-agreed that we have to let him go.

{Ed002's Note - The terms are not known as neither club has declared them - but it will not be as simple as that. Knowing what they have done with other clubs there will eb two very specific break points. And obviously the views of the player count.}

7.) 18 Nov 2015 15:05:50
You're dead right about the views of the player Ed. Everton have Deulofeu's registration, he is our player. If at some time in the future Barcelona decide they want him back and the player says thanks but, no thanks, then he goes nowhere.
You can't make someone take a job they don't want. There may be some sort of payment involved, but I don't think he'll go back to Barca.

8.) 23 Nov 2015 07:26:37
The details are now public. To activate the clause Barcelona have to play Gerry in their first team for a year. During that year he cannot be sold on. If after a year they decide to sell on then we have first refusal. If the asking price is too high then we get a large chunk of his sell on fee.
Therefore Barcelona would have to be convinced they are getting the finished article who can walk straight into their first team. That won't happen next summer.

Take with a pinch of salt but what are the thoughts of fellow blues about Martinez being in the running for the next England manager's job?. If Roy leaves after the European championships apparently it's a young homegrown manager they are after and can only think of a couple from the PL.

lancerboy

1.) 09 Oct 2015 13:31:58
I think Pardew would be in the frame before RM

2.) 09 Oct 2015 15:11:11
It's going to be Pardew for me. No chance of Martinez in my opinion.

3.) 09 Oct 2015 16:13:51
Gary Monk, actually likeable

4.) 09 Oct 2015 19:04:26
It makes me laugh when managers are fired then Brendan Rodgers is also in Line, the only job were poor performance is rewarded

5.) 15 oct 2015 22:48:02
padrew is joke of a manager, mark my words next season palace will struggle compered to this season, he way talk the talk but he can't walk the walk newcastle along with the others ccharlton etc spring to mind, newcastle for me especially when he claimed " they were in a diffrent league to everton, or when west ham got taken over i think and he said somethingh stupid like i don't care about mid table we gona win league. The guy is an idiot. And like toon strted well but will fail badley nxxt season.

{Ed025's Note - although pardew acts like a prat at times, i think he is a good manager..

6.) 15 oct 2015 23:32:57
he's certainly doing well with palace so far. Whens the last time they started the premiership so well? He did do some cock ups but at newcastle his hands were tied to be fair. Ashley sold plenty of players with pardew having no say and replaced them with no one. Think pardew knew he was on a downward trend with toon. What is ashley trying to do with rangers? Newcastle certainly look in trouble this season. Mostly ashley's fault if you ask me. Why did he sack hughton in the first place. Hughton done amazing with newcastle the short time he was there imo. Looks like they might be going back to hughton if they get relegated.

28 Sep 2015 14:43:57
Any chance of Del Boy starting later as I think with a team like West Brom you need to create and score early due to their park the bus tactics or strong defending as the pundits put it, just think he would add that little spark needed for us scoring early.

06 Aug 2015 23:32:26
Adnan J been linked with us again on a loan deal, thought Sunderland were close to signing him. I like the kid think he would do well with us hope it's true.

lancerboy

{Ed025's Note - i expect him to stay at united lancer..

1.) 07 Aug 2015 00:12:40
We can but hope Ed just want a bit of activity but feel its down to the wire stuff again. We need Austin think he would be a goal machine for us.

{Ed025's Note - i think austin would be a good fit lancer, lets hope hey..

2.) 07 Aug 2015 07:45:19
We don't need him we got Kone.

3.) 07 Aug 2015 08:35:32

Hi Blues been on here for years just don't post very often. Anyone know why Gray hasn't started lately as he's arguably been our best player this season so far, not heard he's injured just don't get why he's not started?

Lancerboy

1.) 20 Feb 2023 00:27:26
I would like to see him given a chance as a striker, he has scored some good goals and let's face it the strikers at the club can't find the back of the net. Maybe Gray and someone else up front would be better than a single striker.

2.) 20 Feb 2023 01:51:42
Because he doesn’t work as hard as McNeil or Iwobi.

3.) 20 Feb 2023 09:14:06
It might be because he doesn’t cross the ball, he likes to cut infield and take a shot. On occasions this has worked, but it’s also led to him losing the ball leading to goals for the opposition.
Dyche knows how he wants the team to play, and maybe doesn’t see Gray as a good fit? Personally think him and Simms/ DCL as a front two might work, but at the moment can’t see him getting a place out wide.

4.) 20 Feb 2023 11:51:33
Simply play him on the right and get him and Coleman to switch inside and out as play dictates. Plus can save Coleman's legs as can stay back more, as am sure SD will be looking at.

5.) 20 Feb 2023 18:52:59
If Coleman had stayed back on Saturday we wouldn't have scored.

6.) 20 Feb 2023 20:10:21
Exactly Brassington.

Gray doesn’t play because he doesn’t run enough, simple. No doubt he’s better than McNeil and Iwobi going forward, but Dyche is all about the team, Gray makes the team overall more vulnerable by not tracking back, by not pressing and by not crossing.

People think it’s as simple as “play him instead of McNeil and we will get the same results but better because he’s a better player” but it’s not that simple.

Keeping Coleman back limits us because Iwobi is pretty poor when it comes to running forward. Coleman isn’t great either but has experience and has always been shown to score goals when needed.

If Gray plays in that game, Coleman doesn’t score and Gnonto has a LOT more success against Coleman and who knows what happens.

7.) 20 Feb 2023 21:46:02
I get your point swan. I don't think people are questioning why he isn't getting game time on the wing but game time up top. We clearly out played arsenal while Dom was in and the team fit really well.

But Maupay is useless he can't hold the ball up, he can't get in behind, he can't shoot, he can't dribble or take a man on. He is just totally ineffective.

I think gray would be good up top, well, maybe not good, but at least better than Maupay. SD should tell him to press and work for the team and if he doesn't he can drag him off. I think considering how bad Maupay is Gray deserves a chance.

And for anyone that says we won the 2 games Maupay played in, Maupay did nothing well, good or standout in either of those performances. After Dom came off against arsenal we were rubbish. When Simms came on we were better against Leeds. Maupay is even worse than Rondon.

8.) 20 Feb 2023 22:33:13
Problem with Gray up front is he doesn’t suit our style at all. He also can’t hold the ball up, isn’t a threat in the air but also works nowhere near as hard as Maupay.

If he was so good upfront, Dyche would play him, he’s obviously not impressing in training. It’s all well and good Dyche telling him to press, but what if Dyche doesn’t think he’s fit enough to? What if Dyche doesn’t think he is reliable enough to do that job? .

Gray upfront reminds me of the people that said we should’ve played Mirallas upfront when Lukaku was injured, Martinez did play him upfront for 2 games and he was garbage. He’s very similar to Gray, except Mirallas did actually work hard.

9.) 21 Feb 2023 08:47:19
Swan wasn't Gray about to come on before the goal? And then SD was more interested in defending a lead etc. .
My point being, was he was about to give him 20 mins. to make an impact? keyword ''impact'' and is this what he sees in training?

06 Nov 2022 00:02:00
Shocking performance at home with no drive, desire or goal threat! Iwobi was my best player today although he didn't perform and that says it all.

Lancerboy

1.) 06 Nov 2022 11:23:03
Micky was our best player by a country mile. Iwobi offered nothing again, and was bossed by the Leicester midfield.

28 Aug 2022 00:16:48
I really want Frank to do well but I fear the PL will swallow another young manager quick time if results don't pick up soon. Apart from a out an out striker I'm feeling already we are the team everybody wants to play early in the season.

Lancerboy

1.) 28 Aug 2022 07:29:02
The only people who can force him out will be us fans bud we need to be patient I can see improvements we just need to stick together.

2.) 28 Aug 2022 08:10:59
Yesterday we essentially had half a new team, I’ll include Patterson in this because he didn’t play last season. But we have 5 new starters, it’s going to take time to gel. Defensively we looked out of sorts but you can’t say Coady and Tarkowski are bad defenders, they’ve just barely played together. Give it time.

3.) 28 Aug 2022 09:11:21
I think lampard will do well for us. But I do think sticking with Davies Hol gate and Pickford leave a lot to be desired. I hope it works for him and I do think we will be mid table this year and that will do for me.

4.) 28 Aug 2022 09:52:51
I am not a lover of Frank, but this is the board's, 2nd highest paid in the prem fault, should have had a replacement for Ricky, the last 5/ 6 managers were not all bad, it was the board's fault, but they took the blame.

5.) 28 Aug 2022 10:35:17
Lee, do you ever have a day off? We needed to sell Richarlison whether we had a player lined up or not or we would have fell foul of ffp. But don't let that get in the way of you trashing the board in posts that aren't even about them.
Silva - results were shocking, he needed to go.
Koeman - lost the dressing room, lost the fans. Was too arrogant to admit mistakes. He had to go
Fat Sam - A knee-jerk appointment, no club has ever been relegated in November. Ever. Football was dire, he took credit for other people's results, brought in some absolute crap. He had to go and was the reason I gave up my season ticket.
Martinez - started off well enough but only because he had a solid defence left for him. By end of his tenure, that defence was as shady as Prince Andrew's pizza alibi. Had no plan b, once teams stopped our full backs from bombing up the field we had very little else to offer. Had to go
Rafa - Stubborn, piss poor displays, especially towards the end, never had the majority of fans on his side and was always going to end in tears. Had to go.
Ancelotti - the only one I have thought I'd like in since FM took over, hardly expected him to come. Poor home record in a season played behind closed doors. Still would have liked him to stay but understood why he left. Who turns down Madrid? Shame he left really.

The above is in no particular order, I'm in work trying to write this as the place falls down around me ?

As far as I can see, every manager (possibly bar CA) were not the right fit or just simply not good enough. To blame the board is an easy, lazy accusation. Yes, they have made mistakes but these are, belatedly, being rectified.

I'd rather look to the future than what has been and FL needs to be given time to get us back up the league. Let's be honest, every manager we've had in last few years has been called out, at the time they were managing us, by fans in forums such as this, with sections wanting them gone. It's worrying that there are so many that are wanting FL to be sacked. If you get your wish, we are a step closer to relegation as employing a new manager every year is a sure fire way to go down. Do you all want to be the next Watford? Then be careful what you wish for!

6.) 28 Aug 2022 11:12:55
I said every manager we have appointed since Moyes left was wrong and get slated for it, how come no one has had a moan at you potato ????.

7.) 28 Aug 2022 11:56:53
Because you make your mind up within two games and never change it after that skylark!
Some might have been right man, wrong time. Others should never have been near the club. The difference is that I'm prepared to be patient and at least give a manager a bit of time before the trigger is pulled. We will never find consistency and have a settled side if we keep chopping and changing as I said earlier.

8.) 28 Aug 2022 13:15:26
Problem is if your to patient with the wrong manager he will take us down.

9.) 28 Aug 2022 14:13:25
I get that, skylark, but at some point both the board and the fans have got to show that patience. We have been slitting out own throat with constant change for the last 6 years. Let one manager have the opportunity to build his own side and let us move forward from there. The changes FL has made so far suggest he has the support of the board, let's hope he gets to complete the job he started.

10.) 28 Aug 2022 18:06:31
It's a very hard deciding how much time is right for a manager. For me, a huge sign the time could be up is when they lose the team. This happened with Koeman. With big Sam it was quite unique as it was about being bored absolutely stiff and not wanting to waste time watching it but having to. Martinez: his philosophy included conceding as many goals as can be score as long with the passing statistics meet a certain level and we were in a constant deterioration. Plus his rated some terrible players like Mcgeady and Alcatraz. I can honestly say the only person that didn't get enough time was Sam. His football style was not tolerable as a fan though. The problem hasn't been the time allocated to Managers.

14 Aug 2022 23:04:29
Mina out for approx 8 weeks! Think we should get rid as his legs are made from weetabix, Cash in move on.

Lancerboy

{Ed025's Note - absolutely lancer..

1.) 14 Aug 2022 23:38:43
Many takers for someone who’s out for 8 weeks?

2.) 14 Aug 2022 23:51:21
Who's going to buy an injured player?

3.) 15 Aug 2022 08:05:31
We do?

4.) 15 Aug 2022 09:42:19
Maybe we will make a bid then.

5.) 15 Aug 2022 10:46:54
Gotta cash in if we can. Same with Gomes and Gbamin. Surely they know they are surplus to requirements now.

6.) 15 Aug 2022 12:06:46
If Gbamin leaves, who's going to prop up the bar?

{Ed025's Note - or pick his mates up from the airport when they are blind drunk.. ?

07 Mar 2022 21:55:32
By far the worse performance of the season. Look out of ideas look down on our feet and most worrying not a single shot on target yet again. i'm pretty sure we are down, badly run club that's wasted millions on dross and starting to think it's been that way since Moshiri came on board.

Lancerboy

1.) 07 Mar 2022 22:08:57
Moshiri is the worst thing to happen to this club. Downhill from day 1. Whatever convinced Kenwright he was the man to bring us glory? We were better off when poor.

2.) 07 Mar 2022 22:14:35
Kenwright trusted Moshiri because Moshiri allowed him to stay on claiming a salary at the club.

3.) 07 Mar 2022 22:20:36
I've said this a few times and got slaughtered for it. Moshri and his obsession with advisors and his neighbour have destroyed this club. Regardless of how much money he's out in, he has destroyed this club and that is a fact. The players don't care. They have become multi millionaires and us as the fans are the ones who have to deal with it.

4.) 07 Mar 2022 23:23:35
But the stadium!

I agree probably said so in past posts it's on him this mess wasted millions to to drop a division.

My view on RB is going to the World Cup ruined him. The pundits gutter press made him out to be this footballing god, when it didn't happen for him they all turned on him including the fans. Yes his personal life did him no favours but neither did we.
