Imagine Everton going for Osimhen!

What a signing that would be. Probs won’t happen but with the big teams seemingly looking at other options, we could offer a solution that’s the best of the rest

Only a year left on Napoli contract and is a goal scorer we haven all praying for.

Not a bad age at 26.

1.) 18 Jun 2025 07:23:28
Why did Napoli let him go? I think he might be a bit like Eto’o in his mannerisms/ troublemaker and unsettle the dressing room.

{Ed025's Note - thats what is being said BR..

2.) 18 Jun 2025 08:57:27
Didn't he have a massive problem with the President regarding various racist slurs against him by his own club on social media etc. Get the impression that aside yes could be a problem in dressing room. Not that we realistically have any hope of signing him, he was by all accounts offered 600k PW to go to Saudi before he ended up in Turkey.

3.) 18 Jun 2025 14:17:47
Who knows what happened behind closed doors. But looks like he’s not as popular as his performances should merit. So something not right there.

{Ed001's Note - Napoli posted up a video on their social media poking fun at him, but in a racist way, for missing a penalty. When he complained about the racist tones, they doubled down on it. The issue with people signing him is purely his wage demands. He is asking for around £400k a week.}

4.) 18 Jun 2025 17:55:49
Dear me Ed. That’s a low ball of a wage ?. I’m guessing £400k a week or £21m a year would normally be ok but he probably wants that after tax ??.

{Ed001's Note - I believe that is pre-tax, so somewhere in the region of 250k after tax. Ed25 won't get out of bed for that!}

5.) 18 Jun 2025 20:33:51
Crikey! Is anyone actually paying him or willing to pay him that much Ed? (That’s Osimhen not Ed25)

{Ed001's Note - I knew what you meant, we all know there are plenty willing to pay 25! So far no one has been willing to pay him what he wants other than the Saudis, who he then rejected anyway. I can see him ending up on another loan deal with Napoli stuck picking up a percentage of his wages.}

6.) 18 Jun 2025 21:43:33
I’ve read some pretty positive things about him over the years. Apparently he’s ultra competitive, trains like he plays and in obsessed with winning.

Granted having an attitude with these traits could become very toxic but they’re certainly traits you want to see in an elite player.

Hopefully no of the big boys going in for him with humble him somewhat and that could leave the door open to other clubs coming in, who are behind the main teams.

I certainly wouldn’t say no to his signing lol.

A couple of questions that I hope someone can answer please…….

How can 3-4 clubs sue Everton when only 1 team would have been saved if we went down?

What are the chances of them being successful? The way I see it, which certainly isn’t based on any degree of insight……. multiple teams are suing, based on an assumption that IF Everton hadn’t had broken FFP then they MAY have stayed up and therefore they COULD potentially have had loss of earnings.

I’m no lawyer but I’m pretty sure that things in the eyes of the law are black and white, someone makes a claim, they have to have evidence to support and then the defence have to disprove.

You can’t disprove a hypothetical situation where there could have been many variable outcomes? Can you? Is that how it work?

Surely if there is any case then it would be just a single team and it would be a fraction of the £300m that is being discussed.

Thanks in advance for anyone that answers this :)

MKBlue2

1.) 20 Nov 2023 09:56:37
I don't think they will try to sue as it wold be very difficult to prove their case and would be very costly if they lost. Additionally if they where successful then the PL would have opened a can of worms so the may encourage clubs not to go down that road. Can you imagine every time a club gets a PL sanction for breaking a PSR all the other clubs hypothetically affected would then just sue the sanctioned club.

2.) 20 Nov 2023 23:32:11
Simple answer they cannot without also suing the Prem.

{Ed001's Note - that is simply not true. You clearly have been reading fan sites and believing their nonsense. There is no obligation to sue the Prem, nor is there any reason to.}

3.) 21 Nov 2023 19:59:39
Ed, I haven’t been believing the fan sites which is why I have these questions swirling round my head. Are you able to answer them? Thanks.

{Ed033's Note - Clubs are for profit businesses, so it's likely that each club has had a meeting and they've decided to start legal action just to see if they can maybe get financially rewarded as damages?

4.) 22 Nov 2023 14:32:34
Then the Clubs claim (if there is one) is against who? It can't be against Everton, how could it. Those Clubs were relegated on their own results. Everton have been deducted this Season (By the Prem) . Were Everton supposed to deduct points from themselves last season?

{Ed025's Note - im with you DFS..

Watching this new lad on YouTube. It’s clear to me that he’s backup to DCL this season but all being well, he’s a Dom replacement in the coming seasons

McNeil will have a field day pinging inch perfect balls into the box for this guy.

Nothing wrong with building for the future as long as there’s a plan to improve the squad. He seems to have the physical attributes for the premier league. Let’s hope he has the application to learn and improve.

2.) 03 Aug 2023 21:40:35
Give me a step ladder and I would nut em in.

3.) 03 Aug 2023 22:39:29
We’ll give you a call if we’re still looking for a striker on 30th August. 120k a week ok?

4.) 03 Aug 2023 22:46:52
After tax?

5.) 04 Aug 2023 10:13:44
Plus bonuses?

Any updates or movement on incoming players?

I’m sure things are happening behind the scenes but it’s painful to sit here in hope and get no ground breaking stories 2 transfer windows in a row.

Anyone know who this signing is that A Myers is describing as progressing?

MKBlue2

1.) 23 Jul 2023 20:33:24
It’s El Bilal Toure. Apparently talks are an at advanced stage. Along with Atalanta.

2.) 23 Jul 2023 20:34:19
El bilal TOURE if the rumours are correct.!

3.) 23 Jul 2023 20:36:23
Yes it's El Bilal Toure who plays for Almeria.

4.) 23 Jul 2023 20:54:23
It's Toure.

5.) 24 Jul 2023 09:45:41
Who is it ?.

6.) 24 Jul 2023 19:12:59
I think they said Toure glt but I could be wrong.

No wonder we’re dabbling in the out of contract market. As people have already mentioned £70mil isn’t a lot for a rebuild

This is potentially why we are looking at the “out of contract market” with additions like walker, to plug a gap til next season. Not the perfect signing but an important one.

Sign 3 half decent players on a free. A few loans.

It means we can wisely spend the £70m on 2-3 young players.

It’s possible to improve the squad with that budget if we are smart.

It’s critical to get those players like Walker though IMO. He can do a job for 12 months.

It personally brings things back into perspective for me.

That image of him being carried by team mates after the treble party leaves a bad taste for some supporters but he’s just a lad who’s lived his dream and been part of a team that’s matched one of greatest achievements in football

If he wants to smash 5 litres on Vodka and let his fair down, so be it. Party time is over now and time to get back to his best ?.

I’d be over the moon with that if he’s the guy Moyes wants. Villa are a similar club to ours, great traditional club with strong fan base. I think the fans would warm to him very quickly.

Every year the fixtures get leaked and it’s always a million miles off the truth.

Just wait it out. Not long now.

You can put a bid in and agree a deal anytime you like, clubs just can’t register players til the window reopens.

His age has got nothing to do with it! Why do people keep saying this…. you can be 60 and up to speed with the modern game, a great tactician and be very competitive!

Ridiculous to say someone’s age prevents that from happening ?

The game hasn’t moved on that much since he got wet spam into Europe and won a trophy.

Can I just ask why a lot of people on here, label a manager over 60 years old as being too old, we need someone with fresh ideas etc?

An aging manager can still deliver creative ideas, be proactive and have great tactical nous.

I don’t know why a managers age has anything to do with it, we should be looking for the right person hwho has the right CV, experience and proven track record. Not writing people off because they’re approaching 60 ?.

Tbf when someone looks at an asset, they usually value that by comparing against the other similar assets and how much they have sold for recently.

Property, vehicles, acquisition of businesses, why wouldn’t you do the same with football players?
