Ed:
Regattin is a full Moroccan international, yes. But he was born in Montpelier and represented France at youth level, so he wouldn't need a work permit.

That said, his development has definitely stalled at Toulouse. On the cheap, I wouldn't mind him, but not if we have to pay any appreciable fee.

{Ed002's Note - He applied for Moroccan citizenship about 18 months ago - I don't know what became of it.}

Natkho is an interesting player, would certainly provide needed cover in central midfield. The problem is that we'd have to go the "special dispensation" route for a work permit, as Israel is no longer ranked highly enough for his international caps to make it automatic. (Though if we could have made the signing last month, he would have qualified automatically.)

Batshuayi has a reported £6.8M release clause. Don't know if he's worth that gamble, or if his club might be willing to negotiate.

Gauld seems set on either staying in Scotland for now or moving to the continent, as he doesn't seem to think his style (and small stature) suit the English game.

I'm assuming his 3-match ban still stands. We play on the first day of the new year, so there is no way he could be registered for that game. So he'd miss the third-round FA Cup match, and PL matches home to Norwich and away to West Brom. We'd get him back for the fourth round, and Liverpool at Anfield, though.

Two cup matches and six PL matches (though three are @Liverpool, @Tottenham, and @Chelsea), I don't know that that's enough.

It's about £2M. They had a sell-on clause of somewhere around 20% from his purchase by Wigan. That will come out of Wigan's fee, just like the Liège money will come out of our fee for Fellaini.

I was hoping it would be Ryan Gauld when I saw Dundee Utd in the original post. Supposed to be a quality player, played in all of the club's matches so far. Scored in the league cup, too. Just 17, so would be one for the future. (Maybe buy him and leave him on loan there this season?)

Ince would give us another wide option, maybe so Pienaar could get more time in the middle. He's got baggage, though.

McCarthy I would be fine with, but only if the price is decent. Getting in another midfielder of any sort would be wonderful. Sigurdsson would be nice, Holtby too. But I worry about the price with any of them.
