Everything is rumours but it seems Thelwell may be gone at end of season and new DOF is either Davie Weir or the Leeds DOF who their fans can't wait to go! Really hope our new Friedkin group are monitoring fan forums cus there is only one choice then.

PigHeadHoncho

1.) 22 Feb 2025 10:15:59
If the owners monitored forums, they wouldn’t have got Moyes back in. I hope they make their decisions based on extensive research and expert advice. Thelwell is an interesting one, hard to judge with so many restrictions previously.

2.) 22 Feb 2025 10:25:52
I really hope that we have owners that have a plan and don't monitor fan forums, the last owner was bad enough listening to people who didn't have the best interests of the club in mind.

3.) 22 Feb 2025 19:35:47
I read Weir wants to stay where he is mate.

4.) 22 Feb 2025 20:51:55
Think we looking at Dougie freedman from palace too.

5.) 23 Feb 2025 18:17:03
The fella from Leeds is being considered for the CEO position, nothing to do with the DoF role.

6.) 23 Feb 2025 22:40:19
Think the David Weir rumours are due to him previously working with Moyes.

If you actually look at what he’s done at Brighton it’s not that great - he’s spent a lot of money on average players - most of the decent Brighton recruitment was done prior to him being appointed.

Would like to see Thelwell stay, he’s not been perfect but with the issues we’ve had he’s done fairly well - Ndiaye and O’Brian look top class - would be interesting to see what he could do with some money.

7.) 01 Mar 2025 10:04:41
Restructering, maybe DoF will be defunct, Moyes likes control so maybe they will go with that.

8.) 07 Mar 2025 17:10:41
Agree - Thelwell inherited a sinking ship and hasn't done the worst thing in the world with what has been brought in over the last two years. Dyche seemed to be against the players brought in regardless and was going to make them sit on the sidelines no matter what the side required, seemingly out of stubbornness. If the wings are clipped and there's a manager willing to work with him, Alcaraz, Ndayie and O'Brien could just be the start.

Eds
Is interest in Van De Beek just paper talk and if not what chances?

PigHeadHoncho

{Ed002's Note - Donny van de Beek (CM) Everton may still provide an option - but his agent is also looking for other options and he has been offered through a third party to Barcelona, Real Madrid, Dortmund, Juventus and Wolves but the Spanish sides have not asked for more information. Manchester United will now let him leave in the summer but the player wants out in January if possible. Manchester United may well block that and again hold another player hostage with his value likely to have halved from what they paid for him. Atletico might provide a loan to buy option. Borussia Dortmund may be the most attractive option.}

1.) 15 Jan 2022 09:17:25
Thanks.

Why are we spending £20 million on a left back when we're have nkonku and it's a tight back we need? Even if digne goes sounds like this guy isn't ready yet for premiere league!

PigHeadHoncho

{Ed0666's Note - Because your Everton

1.) 18 Dec 2021 11:29:28
My word! Let's write off a young left back who will reduce the average age of the squad and save us a lot on wages, helping ffp before he has kicked a ball.
Let's ask Liverpool for James Milner, give him a huge fat last pay day and have that will solve all our problems.

{Ed0666's Note - Like Millie would play for Everton ?

2.) 18 Dec 2021 11:42:20
I presume it's because good right-backs that we can afford are not available at the moment and if Digne is off and we have identified a good replacement who is available and we can afford him then it makes sense. Presumably the search for a right-back will continue, I just hope that we don't make another panic decision. We need the right players not another flop.

3.) 18 Dec 2021 11:43:40
Sorry just the 1st 30+ player who can play at left back that came to mind??.

4.) 18 Dec 2021 13:12:32
We have eyes on a right back from France.

5.) 18 Dec 2021 13:21:00
Think the only right back the club will find is the one right back where they started from.

{Ed0666's Note - good one Brian ?

6.) 18 Dec 2021 14:50:01
Tony Hibbert plays in France?.

7.) 18 Dec 2021 13:50:21
So the apparent 20 mill deal for this LB is dependant on a deal to sell Digne I assume.

8.) 18 Dec 2021 16:05:14
Would think so dfs otherwise what’s the point? As many have said it’s a right back we need, or maybe Godfrey can play there as well.

9.) 18 Dec 2021 19:09:43
Yea he can Bob ?. I know he's been better at left back than digne when he's played there but he's actually right footed, so it would seem logical that he can also do a good job at right back. I suspect if there isn't a right back that the manager would like to sign available at a price we can afford, then he will consider Godfrey as a viable option for right back for the second half of the season.

10.) 18 Dec 2021 21:13:36
Bluemike - highly unlikely to make a panic decision over a right back as we’ve been looking for one for 3 years! Can’t see them panicking now ?.

11.) 18 Dec 2021 23:45:19
This is Everton mate, we can panic buy anytime.

26 Feb 2021 18:46:33
Any insight Eds on if we have a realistic chance of signing Max Aaron's? Or is he destined elsewhere?
Read Norwich want 30/ 35 million. Any possibility of Norwich accepting 25 + Kenny?

PigHeadHoncho

{Ed002's Note - Max Aarons (RB) Everton remain very keen after Bayern Munich decided against a move as the cost is seen as too high and Roma has opted for another - Manchester United want him as cover only and that will likely price him out of a move at something like £30M. I don't see Jonjonjoe Kenny moving to Norwich.}

1.) 27 Feb 2021 07:19:15
Thanks Ed.

Sky Sports so biased!
Gary (SHouse) Neville claiming Tarks tackle was a straight red and VAR should've reviewed plus their own VAR ref agreeing!
WTF! Wasn't even a foul never mind a yellow. Sometimes a follow through connects, especially if you're committed player in a local
Derby!
Neville's comments about as a defender you then choose whether to lift your legs are total bollocks - you hit the ball and your leg follows through depending on angle.
Thoughts blues?

PigHeadHoncho

1.) 02 Apr 2025 21:00:53
It looked a red to me and Big Dunc has said the same. I remember when Tarks did a similar tackle against one of our players when he was at Burnley too and you can see the intent with both tackles.

2.) 02 Apr 2025 21:05:27
List all respect for Bug Duncan and u too Comet if u believe that! I think your a biased red (in disguise) never seen u on this site before, like all Sky payroll incl Big Dunc, Mike Dean etc.

3.) 02 Apr 2025 21:22:18
And now they get a goal which should’ve been offside cus Tarks had to play it because of their offside player but surprise, surprise it’s given!
The bias against us and for them is just unbelievable! Big Dunc needs to hang his head in shame.

4.) 02 Apr 2025 21:22:51
You must be blind if you have never seen me on here, try looking a post or 2 down. I can see why you call yourself pig headed.

5.) 02 Apr 2025 21:36:13
Can’t see Neville defending Liverpool, was a naughty tackle like but a good one 20 years ago.

6.) 02 Apr 2025 22:05:01
We where rubbish and yes it was a red card for me. Knife to a gunfight again, moys has done well but hope he isn't here to long.

7.) 02 Apr 2025 22:09:42
It was a straight red.

8.) 02 Apr 2025 22:10:23
Irony of the ‘offside’ is tarkowski shouldn’t have even been on the pitch.

9.) 02 Apr 2025 22:12:15
should have been off.

10.) 02 Apr 2025 22:14:01
Tarls was very lucky to get away with that, take those blue tinted specs off. If one of their players had done that to one of ours then we would have been screaming red card all day.

11.) 02 Apr 2025 22:34:36
Tarkowski that local Liverpool lad from Manchester.

Not me bloody insult to the cap. Clear and present danger.

08 Mar 2025 08:51:42
Great to hear DM praising Tarks and correctly identifying how amazing his record of playing every game and influence of the pitch. It just shows that there are great players out there who can be picked up for free.
As much as we all love Richy, 40 million would be silly, even half that at 20 with his injury record at Spurs would be a huge risk!
If we can pull another Tarks shaped nuggets before next season that would be amazing!
Over to u fellow blues, which players available for free at end of season do u think we should make moves for?

PigHeadHoncho

1.) 08 Mar 2025 10:10:40
Would rather a 20 mil bid for garnacho at manu reckon he'd jump at the chance to get out of there and come to the famous EFC.

2.) 08 Mar 2025 11:13:43
20 million Toffee? You serious? They'd want and get £70 million plus easily.

Agree he wants out and would jump at the chance, he is very moody, selfish and stroppy but a seriously great talent, see him having a great career once he gets his big money move.

3.) 08 Mar 2025 13:22:17
Manu are skint costcutting everywhere I'd love moyesy to bid 20 mil for him payback for the bid he made for Bainsey once a blue always a blue.

4.) 08 Mar 2025 14:11:52
Think Moyes should stop pulling on Tarks' nuggets to be honest Pighead! I do agree though, credit where credit is due, Tarks has proven to be a great servant. Shame he's dipped this season carrying an injury for so long. Love how he protects other players anytime handbags kick off. Proper leadership material. I'd love a whole team of Tarks. But not as much as I'd love a team of Messis!

5.) 08 Mar 2025 16:47:48
Yep I'd love to see it myself Toffee mate would ruffle some feathers and certainly nice to see them not having it all their own way.

6.) 08 Mar 2025 19:44:41
Messi on goal… he’d get lobbed all the time!

26 Feb 2025 11:52:23
More evidence of FA bias against us and for top 6! Both teams fined after Derby, fair enough but they got 3 reds and we got 1 red yet our fine is £15,000 higher than theirs?
Can anyway explain why?

PigHeadHoncho

1.) 26 Feb 2025 12:15:31
Now I like slagging the reds as much as anyone, but they've had two additional fines for the Manager and Ast Manager on top the the other fine. Pay it and move on. Shame no one else has capitalised on us taking points of them. Hope we get up them at Anfield in a couple of weeks too.

2.) 26 Feb 2025 16:05:51
That would still be x1 player each off JB so why difference in fines to clubs?

3.) 26 Feb 2025 17:22:02
Think it was worth it just to piss their fans off myself.

4.) 26 Feb 2025 20:31:06
Because Dacoure started it? Who knows, I’ve given up trying to make sense of any of it.

15 Feb 2025 19:34:13
Wow!
I didn't want him back tbh BUT.
What a fit!
Could any other manager come in and done such an amazing job!
Davey Moyes! Davey Moyes!
Davey Davey Moyes!
After Derby the commitment of players was unbelievable. Bench was non- existent compared to Palaces yet we were always in-the game.
Beto looks a different player, the team looks a different team.
We were all a bit disappointed after January transfer window but signed Alcaraz who looks a bargain already for 12 million and have saved any money we have for summer!
Wow!
In Moyes I now trust.

We paid 26 even 10 isn’t enough! For that price keep
Him especially as Broja may be out a while. Shift DCL in Jan for some fee and get a new striker, not a winger a striker!

FFS! I know this an opinion site but many blues need to get real! We r (on goal difference a point or two) the worst team in PL regardless of staying up by 16+ points! )
Yet, some are already having a go at Moyes (our saviour this season) and making it sound top 10 even top 6 next season is a failure!
Get real, today showed how poor r squad never mind first 11 really is.
Every team in PL will strengthen and most have funds equal or beyond us so reality is a new ANAZUNG stadium BUT keep your feet on ground.
Top 10 never mind top 6 (Europe) next season would be a miracle?
Thoughts - honest true blues?

And such a handful and liked dangerous every minute he was in pitch, exactly what we need!
But I don’t think he’ll be at BMD - our loss E9 imo. Be amazed if we get any striker as good as him.

I remember listening to radio when Latchford got to 30 first with my best Everton bud who went on to be a Tranmere fan going to game after game at Prenton Park because it was near his house.
Good luck to all Tranmere fans especially most who still support their team through (mostly) thick and thin but still have a soft spot for the Blues!
