I see Allan wants to stay longer? Ed is this true as something mentioned about him wanting to return to Italy.

Singing the Blues

{Ed002's Note - I have not heard anything but it will be because of the bounce that comes with a new manager. Given he is in to his 30s he will become harder to sell so could stay at the expense of adding a replacement. Lampard would like Idrissa Gueye back.}

1.) 09 Feb 2022 16:41:28
Thanks Ed.

2.) 09 Feb 2022 18:47:10
He’s not the only one Ed. I’d love him back.

3.) 09 Feb 2022 23:17:03
Hope Allan starts to show some more consistency if he’s staying. He’s got the ability but unfortunately rarely strings a run of decent performances together.

Need him to play like he did against Brentford every game as really helps out the defence an area we’re really struggling with.

4.) 10 Feb 2022 07:35:59
Allan is a cracking player and would make a good Captain. He needs to be behind the ball with legs either side of him. Beek and Decoure either side of him. Unfortunately Decoure is out and won't be rushed back. Frank is hoping Deli can get his mojo and fitness back quickly. Up front it has to be Gordon DCL/ Richarison Gray. Back 4 is a huge headache.

5.) 10 Feb 2022 11:32:59
Allan's problem is his role constantly shifts depending on which player he is playing with. This year he has had a constant rotation of midfield partners which must make it hard for him to get into a rhythm.

6.) 12 Feb 2022 14:46:43
Allan’s biggest problem is his age. Prem is the hardest league to play in and it takes it out of you.

7.) 13 Feb 2022 22:00:54
I thought Allan had a better game because DVDB gave everyone so much more time with his play and positioning and you could see him directing the play. We need him on a permanent deal.

8.) 14 Feb 2022 01:27:48
Hence why commentators drooled over Alan being able to play his natural position and game.

10 Jan 2022 14:30:33
It was rumoured Gbamin can leave? Any truth in that or could he still work his way into team? Ed02 anything on this?

Singing the Blues

{Ed002's Note - Jean-Philippe Gbamin (DM) Everton would want to sell rather than loan him out and there are no takers that I know of at this time. If he were available to be loaned out there may be interest but I suspect concerns over injuries would make clubs nervous.}

1.) 10 Jan 2022 15:22:52
Yeah I can't see anyone wanting to buy someone with his injury record. Maybe on a pay as you play or just a low wage but why would he leave? Just got to hope the lad is past his injury problems and finds some really good form god knows we need a solid DM.

Still not seen him play or have a run of games. I'd imagine been out the length of time he has been out it will be seriously hard coming back straight into the prem.

2.) 10 Jan 2022 15:48:46
Loan him out see if he can go a season without injury, and give him time to get his confidence back. Be cause I doubt he will get much game time with us.

{Ed025's Note - i would cut our losses and just get rid woburn, never fit and a drink driving ban over his head means hes not worth a carrot to us..

3.) 10 Jan 2022 16:28:40
With you there Ed mate he’s exactly the sort of player we should be trying to move on.

{Ed025's Note - yeah GB, i know he has had a bad time with injuries and all that, but we are not running a charity here mate..

4.) 10 Jan 2022 17:07:18
We need to find another 'Everton' to offload them all to.

{Ed025's Note - there is only 1 everton cookie..

5.) 10 Jan 2022 17:35:18
We keep saying the same Ed mate, but we just have to get rid of these fringe players they are simply not good enough, while we have the likes of them we will never progress, regardless of which Manager brought in.

6.) 10 Jan 2022 18:28:27
He will be here until his contract wind's down at a minimum. So the only positive we can hope for is the lad gets fit, stays fit and gets up to speed finally and starts playing and playing well. Then either he becomes a valuable squad member or he is a saleable asset. All the rest is just guff. These are the choices.

7.) 11 Jan 2022 08:56:33
Thanks Ed 02. Definitely a player there and hopefully he can knuckle down and earn a place into the team. Because moving on doesn’t look likely.

8.) 11 Jan 2022 09:38:43
Yeah I agree brown shoes. He's another that will see his contract out and go on a free.

17 Feb 2021 13:06:33
One thing I noticed from Fulham game was that their RB Tettey looked decent. Maybe it was just one game and all their players looked good against our pathetic display. Anyone else seen anymore of Tettey? As a RB will be a must in summer.

Singing the Blues

{Ed002's Note - Brands is working on a couple of RB options as has been explained.}

1.) 18 Feb 2021 12:00:44
Hi Ed the right back options is that when your discussed Djed Spence being an option?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, things will almost certainly change but the options I know of are:
Max Aarons (RB) seen as a long term solution to the RB position but it won't happen. There is interest from elsewhere and he would cost more than Everton will be looking to spend on a RB.
Djed Spence (RB) Brands has been asked to look into Spence as an option for RB after he impressed when scouts were looking at Tavernier.
Kieran Trippier (RB) A player that CA has expressed admiration for in the past and could be available.}

2.) 18 Feb 2021 13:13:22
Thanks Ed, he does look a good attacking fullback just not grabbed the exposure in the premier league like Aarons, seems to have got attention from a few other clubs at times. Guessing he would be a better fit financially compared to Aarons
What’s the story with Trippier then?

{Ed002's Note - He is a player CA has been keen on in the past and after all of the grief he will be available.}

18 Aug 2020 13:01:15
Ed02 How much do clubs consider the importance of loaning out players to the correct club? Are they just happy to get players getting games or part of salary etc?
Or do they really look at if that team suits their player, style of play, standard of play. Character of player or players from that squad.
This is a big step for some players and could make or break their careers.

Singing the Blues

{Ed002's Note - Clubs firstly want a the player to get game time and "relevant" experience. In terms of the club he would be going to, many have relationships with the clubs loaning players out already. Some clubs are far better in dealing with loans than others who don't really have a plan.}

1.) 18 Aug 2020 17:45:15
Thanks Ed02.

2.) 18 Aug 2020 18:41:07
On that note ed, that being the case and the number of players who teeter between u23s and Main squad, e. g. benni baningame, why have Everton not loaned out the likes of baningame. to see if he can make that transition given regular game time. 2yrs ago kevin sheedy told me that of all the youngsters then baningame was most talented. more than dowell, more than davis yet his career has just stalled.

{Ed002's Note - Many clubs, including Everton has no viable structure that allows loans to be planned, to happen and to be managed. Maybe Brands will have the opportunity to work this going forward - I hope so.}

3.) 18 Aug 2020 20:00:29
There is a limit on loans though isn’t there?

{Ed002's Note - In but not out.}

06 Mar 2020 11:28:22
We have been linked with Koulibaly and Lozano and the other position we need to strengthen is central midfield. I would imagine Lozano wouldn’t be to expensive but Koulibaly would surely be out of our price range with the state of our finances. We need to offload a number of players and that would maybe give us the money to get Lozano and maybe a midfielder. If we managed to pull off Koulibaly the guy is a solid Ed’s think it’s possible?

Singing the Blues

{Ed002's Note - Koulibaly is going to be available but €100M for a player approaching 30 is going to make it a tough sell. I would guess the link is simply because of Carlo Ancelotti. More realistically you might want to take a look at Gabriel Magalhaes (CB) - Everton have scouted the player since the new year. Hirving Lozano (RW/F) is available, but goals have dried up. There are far better options available but CA may be tempted if he thinks he can get more out of him.}

1.) 06 Mar 2020 14:14:17
think the lozano link is always going to be there, even before we had carlo due to the fact brands thinks of him so highly and signed him for psg.

2.) 06 Mar 2020 17:06:52
Ed02 thanks for the info. 👍🏼.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome.}

3.) 06 Mar 2020 23:52:55
Could Lozano be the new Riquelme?

4.) 08 Mar 2020 16:18:33
Carlo is stuck with players that were average when we got them and on long very well paid contracts and the Club potentially falling foul of FFP. What a catch 22.

Just looking at the fixtures could Southampton still be at risk with ourselves, Leeds and Burnley? They are on 40pts not a great GD. Two away games and home game v LFC.

Singing the Blues

1.) 02 May 2022 11:47:21
Definitely - can’t see them getting anything from their remaining 3 games, however feel the 3 teams below them have the potential to pick up points in remaining games and may be able to get above them in league.

Paddy power still have them at 250/ 1 to be relegated -.

2.) 02 May 2022 12:03:15
It's possible one of Burnley, Leeds or Everton could finish above Southampton. But I'd say it's pretty much impossible that all 3 will.

3.) 02 May 2022 16:27:39
Just stumbled upon a local Southampton rag and their supporters are quite worried.

04 Apr 2022 20:56:14
Let’s hope palace get to the final off FA cup. Few days before we play them in league now.

02 Apr 2022 10:38:51
Just seen comments Frank saying about Ali taking his opportunity. Where does everyone think Ali can fit into our team? He would need to be as a midfield 3 as the most advanced. So maybe a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1?
Doucoure and VDB/ Allan sitting behind him? With Gordon/ Gray/ Richarlison/ Iwobi out wide off DCL. They can all drop back to make a midfield 5.

Singing the Blues

1.) 02 Apr 2022 12:00:56
As frank likes to play players out of position would not be surprised to see him replace Keane at centreback ?.

{Ed0666's Note - Or Rafa in goal.

2.) 02 Apr 2022 17:43:45
He would be better than keane at the back.

3.) 02 Apr 2022 20:47:37
Somewhere in the main stand, he's absolute crap. Thank god we don't have to pay anything for him.

22 Mar 2022 16:17:43
Since Frank has been our manager we have started games well first 20 mins with exception of Spurs game.
Brentford FA cup
Newcastle (a)
Leeds (h)
Southampton (a)
Man City (h)
Borham Wood FA cup
Wolves (h)
Newcastle (h)
Crystal Palace FA cup

To me this shows he has them prepared and ready and can do it but also shows the lack of leaders on the pitch to maintain this through the game.
We have had Phil Neville, Gareth Barry in our teams in the past and maybe not the best players and don't excite you the same but it shows how important these players are.

Singing the Blues

1.) 22 Mar 2022 18:54:31
How dare you, Gareth Barry was an amazing player.

2.) 22 Mar 2022 19:25:07
We could really do with Gareth Barry back in the Team, amazing sportsman.

3.) 22 Mar 2022 21:02:56
He'd probably get in our midfield right now, gb.

4.) 22 Mar 2022 21:20:56
Think he might be a bit to old now GB?.

5.) 22 Mar 2022 22:09:48
Definitely still miles better than Gomes.

6.) 22 Mar 2022 23:16:01
I’m amazed we haven’t seen Frank name himself in the team - I’d imagine he’s still miles ahead of some of the players we’ve got.

7.) 23 Mar 2022 08:12:32
I think even I'd get in our midfield at the moment ?.

12 Feb 2022 10:19:40
Today is one of those days when we need a moment from a player! Someone steps up and is a match winner. Like saint maximum did against us or a moment of class like a barry Horne goal or Gareth farelly. Time to make a name for yourselves and step up. In fairness to Gordon he’s tried.

Singing the Blues

1.) 12 Feb 2022 10:34:59
It's definitely a time in the clubs history that calls for the 100 percenter's to come clean and show themselves, because by god they have been keeping a low profile up to now.

2.) 12 Feb 2022 10:35:13
Must win today boys and girls and I’m 100% sure we can do it so COYBs.

3.) 12 Feb 2022 12:46:46
Yep must win game.

Ed02 do you think there is any chance of David Moyes returning? With him having years with us maybe he feels unfinished business and like to come back. I know West Ham are in a better place than we are as a club and a team but maybe he has a bit of emotion to come back to a club he spent years at which he had some good memories.
How much has rafas sacking effected Everton’s FFP situation?

If he’s not good enough for palace then not good enough for us. Gone back a couple of years with Arron Lennon. I get the fact that we need balance and factor FFP into it. If it’s a compromise I we make a marquee signing then I can accept it.

JP has come in for some criticism but think he has had a good 18months. Hopefully it’s a maturity thing and he’s becoming the keeper we know he has shown in glimpses. I haven’t seen a save like that one at goodison since big Nev and that is high praise as we have had some good keepers Martyn, Howard and Myrer.
