To be honest, and I never thought I would be saying something like this. but the longer it goes on the more and more I think Rafa could just be the perfect fit in a strange way
Don't ask my why because I don't know.

{Ed002's Note - I understand an issue blocking the potential to make a firm offer to Benitez (or anybody else) has been addressed this afternoon - so perhaps it will be soon resolved.}

1.) 24 Jun 2021 21:28:07
Are theses types of issues normal?
Or is it an Everton issue.

{Ed002's Note - It it’s an issue Everton caused.}

2.) 24 Jun 2021 21:30:49
What is that issue Ed. ?

{Ed002's Note - It has gone now.}

3.) 24 Jun 2021 22:09:04
So do you think an offer will now be made Ed?

{Ed002's Note - I would think so.}

4.) 25 Jun 2021 11:06:06
Maybe the role of Duncan Ferguson under any new manager is one of the issues that has to be resolved? It is unlikely that he will leave voluntarily and the board does not appear to want to push him out either.

5.) 25 Jun 2021 20:19:25
You can’t leave us hanging like that Ed002… what did we mess-up on this time?

{Ed002's Note - It is unimportant now.}

6.) 26 Jun 2021 13:59:52
Was it choosing Pepsi over Coke in the dugout?

21 Jun 2021 19:47:06
Maybe we are waiting for Southgate to get the sack
It wouldn't surprise me.

{Ed025's Note - thats all we bloody need skylark..

1.) 22 Jun 2021 07:51:36
He wouldn't be able to pick a full match day team though. We don't own Kane, Maguire, Rice, Walker, Sterling etc. And we sure as hell don't have 200 right backs in our squad.

19 Jun 2021 15:57:15
Do any of the eds know if rafa has actually been asked or is it just paper talk
How dose it actually work when a club is looking for a new manager
Will they interview more than one and how will that make one of the potential managers feel if they are asking others and they could potentially be third or fourth choice.

{Ed002's Note - Everton have spoken to Benitez and after being unable to come to an agreement over Nuno Espirito Santo will perhaps look to formalise a deal early next week. Unfortunately it seems the powers that be at Everton have been unable to agree a common solution to the new coach issue - and that is always worrying. There will of course have been advice that may well have influenced the view of the owner. NES has now spoken with a couple of other clubs and the fear is Benitez is simply looking for a way back in to English football. For me NES would be the best option.}

1.) 19 Jun 2021 21:40:41
Ed02 is anyone else in running. Surprised we haven't gone in for potter.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of any at the moment.}

2.) 19 Jun 2021 21:47:51
Thanks ed. So looks like Everton have got it wrong again.

3.) 19 Jun 2021 22:18:44
Hi Eds. you mentioned EDS has spoken with other clubs. can u name any who u believe may be in that list.

{Ed002's Note - Spurs and Crystal Palace.}

4.) 20 Jun 2021 00:29:47
Thanks for reply ed02.

5.) 20 Jun 2021 08:06:45
Thanks Ed@.

6.) 20 Jun 2021 10:22:58
The longer it goes on the more convinced I am big Dunc will get it looking from the outside it looks like Nuno will head elsewhere Rafa was my choice but seeing the backlash that's a non starter Conte would take massive wages and jump ship at the first opportunity Galtier I know nothing about him as Niether had 90% of our fans but he is foreign and just won the league in France so is a must for a lot of fans but I can't see us paying his release Claus and looks like he's off to Nice potter is not moving Brighton knocked spurs back and I'm not sure he would see us as a good move we seem to be a poison challace at the minute.

01 Jun 2021 21:21:35
A mate just told me CA didn't want to leave but was forced out, inside information he was told?
But do find it a bit strange that no one from Everton has made a statement on TV or the press yet, well not a statement as long as CA made?

1.) 01 Jun 2021 21:32:44
Then we would have to pay him compensation right?

2.) 01 Jun 2021 21:36:30
So he was forced to leave and go to Real Madrid?

3.) 01 Jun 2021 21:39:37
Probably a load of bull smit.

4.) 01 Jun 2021 22:21:13
Probably loads of rubbish stories going around Skylark. It'll all come out in the wash in a week or two.
Just need to find ourselves another manager who wants to stay or won't get sacked. Easy enough.

5.) 01 Jun 2021 22:29:22
I get the feeling some things don't come out in the wash at this club mate and the stains remain in the club.

6.) 01 Jun 2021 22:38:21
Skylark maybe he was pushed out when he came out and said that he was going to offer sigurdsson a new deal 😂.

7.) 02 Jun 2021 16:01:41
So we forced him out and Real Madrid just happened to call at the same time and offers £30m compo for him? Really?
Why are some so eager to push the blame at the club? Nothing they could do if Ancelotti shows a total lack of honesty and integrity and goes back on his word and contract.
The club are as surprised at all this as we are. Why don't we try, just for once, to support the club and believe them rather than pointing the finger.

01 Jun 2021 15:39:17
Steve Bruce name now in the mix 😂😂😂😂.

1.) 01 Jun 2021 15:49:43
My geordie mate will be praying that happens🙏.

2.) 01 Jun 2021 15:53:21
Better appointment than Ferguson or Howe.

{Ed0666's Note - Steve Bruce at Everton? Liverpool supporters will set themselves if this becomes reality.

3.) 01 Jun 2021 16:12:06
Oh I’m not advocating it, I’d rather replace my eyeballs with tennis balls.

17 Jan 2022 17:11:24
Arsene Wenger.

1.) 17 Jan 2022 17:38:54
He's a 110. Thought everyone wanted a young manager?

2.) 17 Jan 2022 17:50:04
Oh dear.

3.) 17 Jan 2022 17:50:20
Another one over the hill.

4.) 17 Jan 2022 18:12:58
SkyLark . . . Really? ?.

5.) 17 Jan 2022 18:17:46
Not as manager. reckon he'd be good as DOF though.

6.) 17 Jan 2022 18:37:29
Just to keep us up.

7.) 17 Jan 2022 20:04:54
Wenger is not actually a bad thing for DOF. Not only would he sort the playing style out, but fitness, dietary habits, behaviourial patterns, and be on hand to guide a young manager.

8.) 17 Jan 2022 21:40:45
100% agree Nick, imagine a Galtier working under him as coach too …… now that would change the club top to bottom ??.

15 Jan 2022 21:10:01
If Rooney or lampard come to this club I will never support them ever again.

{Ed025's Note - me neither skylark..

1.) 15 Jan 2022 21:53:29
My son is 20 and sees the positive in every game he watches. I’m in my 50s and have been spoiled by the memory of silverware. I’m ashamed to be so negative in front of him. We do 8 hours round trips to see the games and he tells me off when I complain when we lose. (I do the driving)

The club owe it to his generation to sort this crap out or risk losing an entire generation that will be the next rightful custodians of the new stadium in BMD.

I don’t wish to sound too dramatic but it’s not just our premier league status at risk here.

2.) 15 Jan 2022 22:28:07
Very true ToffeeAce, I have family friends of a similar age to you who are Forrest fans who obviously remember winning the league and x2 European Cups in the same time line Look at where they are now ?.

3.) 15 Jan 2022 22:41:57
With respect mate it is dramatic and rather an insult to the Boltons, Tranmeres etc! You have not known this Club out of the top flight but others have. At the root it is not where the Club are but if it exists and the connection you feel.

07 Nov 2021 15:41:04
Defence looks better without holgate and midfield looks better without iwobi.

1.) 07 Nov 2021 15:58:49
Midfield looked better without Hoegate, even with 10men!

2.) 07 Nov 2021 16:06:35
Whole team look better without those two, and you can add Rondon to them.

3.) 07 Nov 2021 16:09:51
Anyone surprised by that?

06 Nov 2021 21:38:05
What's everyone's take on DCL being on sky during the match, was it right or wrong .
I personally think he should have been at goodison with his team mates, it doesn't sit well with me.

1.) 06 Nov 2021 22:06:41

2.) 06 Nov 2021 22:09:32
Behave mate!

3.) 06 Nov 2021 23:03:33
Seems like we’re looking at anything to moan about now - unbelievable.

Most of us as fans have been wondering what’s wrong with DCL and when we’ll see him play again. I think the club used the opportunity for him to go on sky for the match to alleviate some of the worries fans may have had with his absence.

Personally think his choice in clothing was wrong, but his appearance was right.

4.) 06 Nov 2021 23:17:47
If the players are wondering wear DCL rather than concentrating on the game then we’re in more trouble than I thought!

5.) 07 Nov 2021 00:41:19
Team spirit? Maybe that’s why we don’t seem to have any?

6.) 07 Nov 2021 00:27:03
Just an excuse to have a pop for having a pops sake. The lad is injured, he was ruled out the game so whether he was in the stands or in the studio, it makes no difference. The only thing wrong with his appearance that night was his choice of suit.

7.) 07 Nov 2021 09:13:23
Anyone who has played at a high standard would know, you go to give your team support, I have been in plaster and still went away game

8.) 07 Nov 2021 12:23:24
DCL may have been wearing that suite for a bet.

9.) 07 Nov 2021 15:27:34
Lee1616, what has playing at a 'high standard' got anything to do with it? So, fans that haven't played at a pro or semi-pro can't have an opinion?
He's not the first injured player, from any Premier league club, to be on TV when their team is playing. If anything, it gives us a bit of an insight into what's happening behind closed doors. A few have moaned the club aren't transparent enough!

06 Nov 2021 12:50:07
I hate the term people's club I wish we would drop it and start being more ruthless and get rid of the old boys.

1.) 06 Nov 2021 13:15:05
Hi Skylark
What exactly is your beef with the 'old boys'
Every club needs coaches for its academy, U18 and U23 teams
As long as they have or are taking their coaching badges what do you have against ex Everton players being the coaches?
They can impart their love of Everton to the youngsters
They, as ex Everton players would want the club to succeed as much as any outside coach or are you saying an ex player from say Stevenage or Tranmere or Wolves is better than someone from Everton?

I don't understand this anti ex player sentiment.

2.) 06 Nov 2021 13:49:08
Well I never mentioned any ex players names as coaches, in my last post I said old boys that have been at the club .
I have infact mentioned ex players before coaching at our club and they have been here for a while now Jeffers, ebbrell just a couple that comes to mind and the club has been terrible fore years now .
We need to drop the people's club attitude and be more ruthless and get rid of the old boys and some of the ex everton players that are part of the coaching staff
Is that better for you or just as bad? ?.

3.) 06 Nov 2021 14:21:23
We're both as frustrated as hell with Everton at the moment but the U23 have been performing well and have won the league what? two out of three seasons
So we seem to be moving our players successfully from the academy through to the U18 and then to the U23. Why aren't they getting to our first team

For the answer I think you have to ask the managers and Brands. Players who our U23 have been competing well against are getting into their senior teams

Why do we keep appointing managers who don't promote youth?

4.) 06 Nov 2021 14:27:21
Good question bw. Something not adding up at the club.

5.) 06 Nov 2021 14:34:16
I agree Skylark. It's not the old boys that's the problem

It runs a lot deeper.

6.) 06 Nov 2021 14:49:17
Where's Brands defending his record on youth development?

Why is Benitez on not playing Gordon. He's now making excuses about why he's not been playing him, What about all the others getting a run out instead of not even sitting on the bench because we need to put 2 goalkeepers on it.

7.) 06 Nov 2021 17:08:59
Will never understand the two keeper thing. In fact I would go as far to say to the manager pick two goalies on the bench and your sacked. We invest a lot of money on youth so give them a bloody chance. Let’s be honest they couldn’t do any worse.

8.) 06 Nov 2021 18:28:46
Whilst I somewhat see what you mean this is nonsense imo mate. We’re a working class mans club in a relatively poor city. You’ve only got to look at what EITC do compared to other prem clubs. We are a club for the people in many ways. But at the moment it’s a shame are performance on the pitch doesn’t match it off it.

9.) 06 Nov 2021 18:37:32
And also did you see big Duncs response to Mike on Twitter for a pic he drew of him. For that lad Everton is a gigantic part of his life. And for Dunc to respond personally like that shows why we’re labelled the people’s club.

10.) 07 Nov 2021 00:31:49
A club that does things for the people of the city and the wider community and you're not happy with that? Judging by your recent posts, skylark, you're back on the wind up!
