Typical Daniel Levy. Very shrewd imho. He knows we’re in trouble with ffp. Weakness in business is key to flipping a great deal. Richy, Brazilian no.9 scores for struggling club and scores regularly for a top ranked country. Grealish commanded 100mil. What’s he done really?
We’ve taken one where it hurts because we’re in trouble with ffp. We’re a bloody mess truth be told. I just hope some sensible purchases. Round pegs in round holes. Excellent work ethic and rebuild. I’d take mid table next year and maybe a decent cup run. We need to be realistic. I don’t think I can do another relegation battle for a club I’ve loved since old enough to watch footy.

Read Phil Mcnulty, spot on, let's see if this so called review brings results, still a few superglued in position of influence on the board.

2.) 01 Jul 2022 08:53:40
So far what's changed that makes you so sure we won't be in the mix again for a relegation battle?

3.) 01 Jul 2022 09:41:54
We just sold our best player have faith top 4 next season.

3 wins from 8 games…. don’t know what all the fuss is about.
Fortress Goodison! Good on the majority of supporters in there yesterday for getting right behind the team and assisting the team in getting that win. We can all debate the state of the team but it’s our team, whoever the personnel, we just need to get behind them. We know there’s been poor recruitment over the last several years but it’s just wasted energy to hear folk just keep whining about the whole team and asking for a change in the manager. We need to get out of this season with our premier league status intact then allow FL to try to build a team with youth and experience. He was not my first choice but give the guy a chance is my view. The last 3 performances have shown me signs of improvement and the players responding to him. That’s got to be the very least we want to ensure we stay up isn’t it. We then need some stability and build our identity again. You can’t do that if you keep chopping and changing. Great point earlier made about 8 starters being signed from 5 different managers. How will you ever find stability if that continues?

Fair point. 3 out of 8 compares pretty well to 1 out of 14 in the previous games under Benitez.

I think Benitez sapped the spirit and confidence out of the team. Given our position in the league, Lampard has a hard job to try and get that confidence and spirit back especially given the restrictions on the squad he's inherited but we've seen real signs of it yesterday after the defeat at Burnley - they were fighting for everything, bodies behind the ball, (most) players running themselves into the ground.

The test has not yet been passed and Lampard and the players still have a lot of work to do but there are signs there that they're doing something right.

A lot will depend on keeping players fit until the end of the season as the squad is pretty thin.

Wonder what team and formation FL will adopt tonight? Go for gold or keep it tight? I know it's an important game but so will the next 9 be. I really hope they play with some confidence and take the game to Burnley. COYB.

{Ed0666's Note - Personally I’ll think you’ll win.

1.) 06 Apr 2022 17:08:52
Hope so Ed, but I think the next logo, after Cazoo, on our shirts should be “ carries a Government health warning”.

{Ed0666's Note - I hear ya pal I lived through the dark ages when Roy Hodgson was Liverpool manager.

How on earth does Alex Iwoeful get in the starting 11. He can't string a pass and gives the ball away for the second west ham goal when we were in the ascendancy. 35 million quids worth of utter guff he really is.
The team have really looked good today. Been better energy and formation from them we still find a way to cock it up.

Agree TWB. No idea how he started ahead of Gordon - frank really does make some strange selections.
Better performance today but individual errors cost us.

{Ed0666's Note - By ‘strange’ do you mean clueless? You guys are deluded of you think Rafa is still the problem.

2.) 03 Apr 2022 15:53:05
My dead dog is a better player 35 was there not meant to be a 3•5 f**k he's a waste of a shirt and shame on FL for picking him Keane and Holgate.

3.) 03 Apr 2022 16:16:17
Gotta say, apart from the mistake iwobi was one of our better players today but still has that type of mistake in him, which we cannot afford to have.

Doucoure awful all season. Dcl and richy can pack their bags.

Keane can follow too with Kenny.

I actually thought Holgate did better in midfield than he ever has done at cb, which is not a very high bar to reach.

I would actually play (if fit and not suspended)

Pickgord
Patterson
Godfrey
Branthwaite/ mina
Mickey

Holgate
Allan
Alli/ vdb

Gray
Gordon
Dobbin

How much worse can this be than what we had today?

I agree with ed 666
This clubs clueless and so are the players. Said it for a wile no u could have pep er he wouldn't get anything out of them players are massive problem and can't do the basics clubs run by a clown.

{Ed0666's Note - I would get rid of him now and bring someone in for the last few games. This man is gonna take you down. I don’t dispute he’s got talent and can be a very good manager but he needs to learn at lower clubs before he gets the giants in the premier league. Go to Blackburn etc learn your trade and then go for the premiership. He’s young enough to do that.

5.) 03 Apr 2022 16:24:12
You had my attention until you wanted Holgate kept in the team.f

What a fabulous 10 minutes 60-70! We were on absolute fire. Great to see Rafa change it even though we scored. Again the new signings have had a massive impact along with Aby D who has had a great game. We're going to have lulls and players will lose form but I'm seeing a different mentality. When we went behind last year we got ragged, lost shape and got well beaten. We look sharper and fitter as a unit. I'm looking forward to seeing Rafa's tactics against the top clubs and then we'll have a better barometer for our quality and ability to compete for the top end of the table. Really chuffed. Well done lads!

If he stays up for 90 minutes I’m all up for viagra ??
Seriously though we are desperate for strikers and have been since lukaku left. We surely can’t rely on DCL lasting a whole season without getting injured. Back up Salamon Rondooney he most certainly isn’t. Where are the goals coming from?

I get the point of view to let Ricky go but who would you replace him with? Someone as consistent and work ethic with goals in him. Granted he didn’t have a great season in front of goal last season. Diving is just part of the game now, you just have to practice that as much as kicking the ball these days. Just look at the euros. Players fall down at the lightest touch, it’s pathetic and ruining the game.
The only player I can think of that could fill that void is Grealish. There’s been far too many pay cheque players that have joined our great club. He didn’t have his best season in front of goal but literally every match he plays his effort couldn’t be questioned. I’m a bit worried if I’m totally honest. Could this be a case of rats fleeing a sinking ship? Ricky, DCL, James, Sigs. That’s basically our total goal getters possibly at risk. Does anyone else not feel a little on edge this transfer window?

Well said Chalkie mate. Isn’t it wonderful supporting EFC.! Best fans bar none. The atmosphere for these last four home games have been Stella and got the lads over the line. When folk say about the fan influence I this will go down as one of those memorable times where the fans were the difference.

Jeez, love the optimism, but you can’t even talk about the two R’s in the same breath. Leagues apart.
If we can get double digits out of Rondon that will be a good return. I think he’s a head working pro but common we can’t compare the two lol.

Think that’s been the problem Dentilad. Poor recruitment for several years under different managers. Who’s accountable for that shower? Marcel is like Teflon when you look at the incomings on his watch and few say ought about it.
