It’s Done!
TFG officially own EFC
Financial stability in the immediate term. Success on the pitch in the long term. Let’s start turning this oil tanker around ?.
1.) 19 Dec 2024 10:51:42
Supposed to be straight talkers. Hope they tell the head coach and players to buck up or ship out.
2.) 19 Dec 2024 11:12:00
Great news at last. Hope he gets a standing ovation on 22nd when he attends his first game. Hope he has his axe with him too.
3.) 19 Dec 2024 12:34:27
Now things will get interesting. Good luck to the bloke.
4.) 19 Dec 2024 13:35:47
Looking forward to the new year now, so onwards and upwards COYB.
5.) 19 Dec 2024 17:50:02
I think that SD will stay providing we stay out of the bottom three so we will have to put up with SD type football this season. Staying in th premiership has to be the number one goal for this season and then we will see.
6.) 19 Dec 2024 18:41:21
Hear its something in the 98% ownership. Was FM in the 94%? So is that other 4% Bills estate?
7.) 19 Dec 2024 19:36:47
I think it is 4% of Bills estate FBS. I read last week or week before that TFG were waiting for response from them.
8.) 20 Dec 2024 12:30:34
At last we seem to have a stable owner with experience of running a football club.
Short term goals before long term aims seems to be the message and proper Evertonians will be relieved by that.
Good luck Mr Freidkin and welcome to Everton FC.

Geuye is in France having a medical today if reports are true. So expect to see some fast movement for his replacement.
13 Jan 2019 17:27:51
Ed, do you think Chelsea would do business on a permanent Zouma deal, or are they just loaning him until the time is right to use him?
{Ed002's Note - At the moment it is a straight loan and given they are in the process of making changes at CB by next season he would likely end up as cover. If he were to ask to leave and decide on Everton as his next destination, then Everton need to make a proposal to Chelsea about buying him at the end of his loan in the summer. If the player wants to leave and the proposed deal satisfies all parties, then it may be an option - but there is some interest from elsewhere.}
1.) 13 Jan 2019 19:52:52
Great info. Thanks Ed002.
2.) 13 Jan 2019 21:43:43
Pity about interest from elsewhere but I have to say not surprising. I knew the lad was a good player having watched him and then for us. I particularly like his runs out of defence. Seems to me our loans (apart from Digne) are were our best business.
07 Aug 2018 13:04:38
Ed002, you mentioned yesterday that Chelsea had pulled out of pursuing Bernard because he was a bit light weight for the league. Reports today are saying they could still come back in. Do you know if there is any truth to these reports? Or has their stance not changed.
{Ed002's Note - I explained what I know.}
1.) 07 Aug 2018 14:16:57
Lightweight? Never understood this term. If that’s the case surely when the likes of Silva and Coutinho come to the Prem they were also “lightweight Players adapt.
2.) 07 Aug 2018 15:20:23
I agree BitterBlue. Was it Joninhio who played for Middlesbrough years ago who was about 6 stone soaking wet? There are plenty of examples of small players that made it in the premier league.
3.) 07 Aug 2018 17:07:30
They get more protection these days too. It’s more whether they can adapt to the culture and the climate - living in Ukraine should mean Liverpool will be cosmopolitan by comparison.
11 Jun 2018 16:33:44
Ed, Do we get anything from the Deulofeu sale from Barcelona to Watford? Not sure if we had a sell on clause.
{Ed001's Note - I don't believe so.}
1.) 11 Jun 2018 17:35:15
Thanks Ed.
2.) 11 Jun 2018 20:52:37
We DO indeed get something from Deulofeu's sale. It was in the original agreement that should Barcelona buy him back he had to be in the 1st team squad for a year. If he was subsequently sold AFTER that season Everton receive a percentage of the sell on fee. That was from Martinez at the time of the initial deal.
3.) 13 Jun 2018 01:41:45
We get to laugh at Watford.

Just need Chelsea to do a number on Wolves tomorrow and that wraps up a perfect weekend.
09 Jan 2025 22:42:53
If it is going to be Moyes, I hope it’s just until the end of the season. We have to show some imagination and stop with this lazy recruitment. We talk about being a veritable Giant in English football but are pretty minuscule when it comes to ambition.
How can West Ham who’s trophy cabinet is smaller than a gnats bicep get Potter and we end up with Dyches hero is just beyond me.
I truly hope TFG have a better go at this than what I’m already seeing.
1.) 09 Jan 2025 23:30:44
I honestly cannot see Moyes getting the role for more than the end of the season if I’m honest TA.
2.) 10 Jan 2025 03:51:54
Hoping it's going to be Thomas Frank but have a feeling it will be Moyes.
27 Jan 2023 09:27:06
Looks Like Dyche. Which is interesting as he’s at my works offices later today answering questions that we put to him about Management styles and all that corporate stuff. Wonder what my first question should be ?.
{Ed025's Note - "can you keep this rabble up"?..
1.) 27 Jan 2023 12:45:21
How are you going to deal with Moshri and BK.
2.) 27 Jan 2023 13:25:53
What are your long term plans?
05 Mar 2021 09:47:09
Very strong at the back at the moment. I can’t see a better pairing at centre back than Keane and Godfrey. With Digne and a good right back acquisition in the summer (Aarons maybe) that would be an excellent back 4. Pickford improving lately and Ancelotti identifying the need for him to be calm I can see him becoming a better keeper for us, although I’m sure not everyone would be happy with that 😄.
If the saying that strikers win you games but defences win you titles is true then we can be very optimistic of success under CA with this set up.
1.) 05 Mar 2021 10:40:35
Would agree with that however the same can’t be said about Holgate, he needs to tighten his game up too many mistakes.
2.) 05 Mar 2021 12:47:37
I agree the defence is looking a formidable force and dare I say it, foundations are being laid here for something special.
In all the years posting not just on this site but everywhere I have never typed a sentence about EFC as hopeful as that before . because there is usually a caveat or 2 for cautionary reasons, maybe it's the Carlo factor mixed with Duncan and another hero Mr Moshiri.
3.) 05 Mar 2021 12:49:24
Yea get a new rb and the back 4 looks in great shape! Keane has been largely outstanding, so absolutely not trying to rush him off, but think Branthwaite looks a massive talent. Think it's exciting to think that him and Godfrey could be our centre back partnership in 2 or 3 years time and then for years to come!
4.) 05 Mar 2021 13:35:56
Agree with all the above about the defence but I think the midfield hase been very sloppy at times in giving away too many 2-5 yard passes. Hopefully its just a blip and gets sorted soon.
5.) 05 Mar 2021 20:58:56
Holgate looked great last season but after injuries it takes time to get back to full fitness and form. If anything I think he looks a little bit cocky and needs to realise he still needs to put in the graft he did to break into our starting 11. In the Don I trust! No competition at present because Mina out, but Carlo Magnifico will develop him into a great CB!
6.) 05 Mar 2021 21:09:58
I agree GB, he makes me nervous watching when he’s on the ball. Couple of easy passes going astray too. Good player for us though but not an automatic choice in a back 4 for me maybe next season if we can manage to strengthen RB in the summer.
11 Feb 2021 08:30:34
My position on Tom Davies is this, he’s playing well right now and getting credit which he fully deserves. A month ago he was getting stick from most of us which he also fully deserved. This is all normal and justified. As long as the criticism or praise is fair then long may opinions continue. As well as his good form.
You’re only as good as your next 90 minutes and I hope his next 90 will be as good as his last. Well done Tom. Find a way of putting in regular performances like that at your young age and the sky’s the limit for you.
1.) 11 Feb 2021 09:44:25
I hope this isn't the 'kiss of death' for Tom, nevertheless his recent performances are maybe indicative of him putting his past well behind him.
I always felt he was suffering from 'stage fright' or the like and now it appears his confidence is being boosted by really good matches.
Any way my fingers are crossed for the lad.
2.) 11 Feb 2021 10:56:31
Maybe Carlo has told him to just go out and enjoy playing football, and playing him in his best position. Were other managers we have had used him to fill gaps in midfield without allowing him to develop in one position.
If you think about it for a young player he has had a lot of managers.
3.) 11 Feb 2021 12:01:02
He’s had 2 good games. We all want him to be a star. Let’s be honest though - he has been poor most the season - his passing has not been great.
I suppose he has seen Decore and Alan come in - probs felt the pressure.
I really hope he’s turned a corner and continues - if he has then we can save 30-40 million over the next few years - he could becEFC player for 10 years to come.
03 Feb 2025 08:26:45
The pressure is on Thelwell today. If he wants to continue in his role at Everton he needs to sign a striker in the next 14 hours. Something he hasn’t been able to do in the last month!
I’ve not really focused on his performance as I was too angry at Dyche. All eyes on him today so it’s fight or flight for me.
25 Jan 2025 17:41:40
How difficult a name do you have when it’s replaced by Chewbacca ??.
21 Jan 2025 18:20:09
When I hear Spurs and defender in the same sentence it doesn’t really fill me with confidence ?.
20 Jan 2025 08:32:39
His injury record of late is a worry to me. His ability to improve us is already apparent. I wouldn’t call it sentiment as much as I’d call it a no brainer if it wasn’t for the worry of his fitness.
My point is this. When we sold him we became a poorer side going forward. So if we could trust in his fitness then having him back would simply be putting the missed quality back in the team. Not so much sentiment but more common sense.
19 Jan 2025 17:16:45
It would depend on the price. He may not be our first choice but he’s being kept out by a £75mill centre back.
He’s a goal scoring centre back with plenty of PL experience. If he’s wanted, bring your pocket book!
06 Feb 2025 07:08:35
Completely agree BlueMike.
05 Feb 2025 20:58:53
The government should apply more pressure for a regulator as that’s what made the PL treat us the way they did. If that worry is still real then the City issue will be as big an issue for them as it is for City.
The ultimate sanction would be to expel them from the league. Without a care of who will take them in. For me that’s the best message they could send out to any club who has the arrogance to flout the rules 115 times no matter how small or great they are.
We mustn’t allow money to have the power to ruin competition.
02 Feb 2025 10:11:13
Progression in the FA cup is huge for me as it brings so much excitement. Not to mention such amazing memories of ‘95 and the glorious ‘80s.
But I have to be sensible and go with any 3 points is better given what we’re going through as fans.
01 Feb 2025 21:24:08
That’s very fair BN. I am very interested to see if with a run in the side he can get more goals. So yes. Give him minutes. Let’s see.
01 Feb 2025 20:20:18
Moyes is doing his thing. Play a center back at full back to get the pace before he can slot into his natural role. Seems to be working this far.
