Geuye is in France having a medical today if reports are true. So expect to see some fast movement for his replacement.

Ed, do you think Chelsea would do business on a permanent Zouma deal, or are they just loaning him until the time is right to use him?

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - At the moment it is a straight loan and given they are in the process of making changes at CB by next season he would likely end up as cover. If he were to ask to leave and decide on Everton as his next destination, then Everton need to make a proposal to Chelsea about buying him at the end of his loan in the summer. If the player wants to leave and the proposed deal satisfies all parties, then it may be an option - but there is some interest from elsewhere.}

1.) 13 Jan 2019 19:52:52
Great info. Thanks Ed002.

2.) 13 Jan 2019 21:43:43
Pity about interest from elsewhere but I have to say not surprising. I knew the lad was a good player having watched him and then for us. I particularly like his runs out of defence. Seems to me our loans (apart from Digne) are were our best business.

Ed002, you mentioned yesterday that Chelsea had pulled out of pursuing Bernard because he was a bit light weight for the league. Reports today are saying they could still come back in. Do you know if there is any truth to these reports? Or has their stance not changed.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - I explained what I know.}

1.) 07 Aug 2018 14:16:57
Lightweight? Never understood this term. If that’s the case surely when the likes of Silva and Coutinho come to the Prem they were also “lightweight”? Players adapt.

2.) 07 Aug 2018 15:20:23
I agree BitterBlue. Was it Joninhio who played for Middlesbrough years ago who was about 6 stone soaking wet? There are plenty of examples of small players that made it in the premier league.

3.) 07 Aug 2018 17:07:30
They get more protection these days too. It’s more whether they can adapt to the culture and the climate - living in Ukraine should mean Liverpool will be cosmopolitan by comparison.

Ed, Do we get anything from the Deulofeu sale from Barcelona to Watford? Not sure if we had a sell on clause.

Toffee ace

{Ed001's Note - I don't believe so.}

1.) 11 Jun 2018 17:35:15
Thanks Ed.

2.) 11 Jun 2018 20:52:37
We DO indeed get something from Deulofeu's sale. It was in the original agreement that should Barcelona buy him back he had to be in the 1st team squad for a year. If he was subsequently sold AFTER that season Everton receive a percentage of the sell on fee. That was from Martinez at the time of the initial deal.

3.) 13 Jun 2018 01:41:45
We get to laugh at Watford.

Question for Ed 002. You mentioned that SA and CS were the choice of Walsh, so he's had his way on that one. Has this caused a shift in transfer priority as we've been led to believe from Koemans time that we needed a striker and a left sided defender? And do you know of any players in particular that we are pursuing as all we seem to see are random names in the media.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - It won't change anything - the club need to get out of where they are now. January may well see Sandro Ramirez return to Spain with Valencia or Espanyol and could see Ross Barkley depart as well. The club are looking at trying to get a deal for Theo Walcott (F) - he is wanted by Sam Allardyce and his time at Arsenal is drawing to a close as he is doing no more than stagnating now, so it makes sense. Whether it will to him or not I don't know. Richmond Boakye (S) is a player Walsh is keen on and I assume he would have discussed him with SA by now - so an approach is not out of the question. Ezri Konsa (CB) is a youngster who thinks he can walk in to any EPL first team - we will see if Everton maintain that interest or if SA would prefer a more humble addition. Everton will be looking for a new lift back and if they want a slight risk then I expect Luke Shaw will be available. Steve Walsh had sent a scout to watch Marcel Halstenberg but it is hard to see him being available in January nor being interested in a move to a club without Champions League prospects. Sam Allardyce will no doubt have some ideas as well.}

Great reply ed002.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks.}

2.) 06 Dec 2017 15:40:56
Thank you Ed002. Interesting read.

3.) 06 Dec 2017 15:45:02
Would Sandro be a loan or permanent to your knowledge, Ed?

{Ed002's Note - They would look for a loan to buy I would think.}

4.) 06 Dec 2017 15:50:07
hi ed what are the chances of Shaw on a loan? I suspect ManU would want to get a permanent transfer if possible just wondering if a loan with reasonably fee would be considered.

{Ed002's Note - They will look to sell if they can - I think a loan less likely. There will be flurry of left-backs moving in the coming months and they won't want to end up stuck.}

5.) 06 Dec 2017 16:39:50
Could you see mirallas leave ed? Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - I suspect in the summer.}

6.) 06 Dec 2017 18:05:00
Wow. Cracking info Ed 002. Much appreciated.

7.) 06 Dec 2017 19:02:34
Fantastic reply ed, could you see Schneiderlin or Klassen leaving too in January or the summer? Seem neither Klassen or Sandro are rated highly at the club.

{Ed002's Note - The summer would be more likely.}

8.) 06 Dec 2017 20:06:09
Thanks for the reply ed.

{Ed002's Note - you are welcome.}

9.) 06 Dec 2017 21:08:06
Hi ed I never heard of richmond boakye is this lad any good seen YouTube videos of him but they can make average players look world beaters.

{Ed002's Note - a lot of clubs have taken a look but nobody is biting which may say a bit.}

10.) 07 Dec 2017 07:25:40
Boakye could be an amazing signing if he can adapt to the Premier League, which is always the million dollar question!
Could be a pacy combination up front with Bolasie which definitely wouldn’t allow teams to settle when we break!

Let’s see what happens.

11.) 08 Dec 2017 07:51:36
Think we need to see what will be. My immediate concern is Sunday and the fear we may need to wait a while for another 3 bus's.

Ed, is one of Everton’s expensive advisors Kia Joorabchian?

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - No. Kia's involvement with Everton was involved in offering a player at one time. I am not aware of any other involvement than that and he is certainly not providing advice.}

1.) 14 Apr 2020 16:23:23
Ok. Thanks Ed.

26 Nov 2019 02:35:32
Moyes or Hughes. I cannot think of anyone I would want less. 2 has beens who have shown Everton disrespect in the past. It worries me that the board are torn on these and not unanimously against them both. This is bad.

Toffee ace

1.) 26 Nov 2019 09:13:38
Hughes is a definite no for me. With Moyes it depends on the contract length if it is to the end of the season with an option if he get into the top 5 then I wouldn't mind. Personally I think Moyes may have left the club with the managements blessing. I knew Moyes was waiting for the Man U job a couple of seasons before he actually left, not sure about the board but he seemed pretty open that, that was his dream job so can only presume the board did. It was very unfortunate that he left the way he did. I think its the fact that he came back for too many players. I think if he had just gone for Felli most would have been okayish with that but he crossed the line with Bainesy.

2.) 26 Nov 2019 12:45:50
Moyes did well, all things considered, in his spell with us, we can't deny that. The problem that I have, and one that is shared by a lot of fans, is the total lack of respect shown to us as a club when he tried to sign Baines. In many ways, his words were much worse than when Rafa referred to us as a small club, at least Rafa was in charge of our rivals at the time after we had thwarted their expectation of 3 points against us. His was a comment made immediately after the game when passion and frustration ran high. Moyes made his comments in spite, imo, as he couldn't get the player he wanted.
None of the names fill me with any sense of hope.

3.) 26 Nov 2019 15:15:51
Totally agree on Moyes re Baines BP on a positive note Silva hasn't been sacked yet!

{Ed025's Note - thats not very positive to me sa mate..

4.) 26 Nov 2019 19:16:01
sa90, I can't see the positives in that either mate!

09 Nov 2019 19:24:22
Three points off top six. Just saying.

Toffee ace

1.) 09 Nov 2019 21:09:42
6 points off bottom 3. Need the consistency (obvious statement) . Look at Leicester, apart from Vardy, are they better player for player than us. Point being a coach willing to adapt and be dynamic in a live game is the one that usually wins. At our level (yes we are equal to Leicester) , Rodgers has it, Benitez (China I know) has it, the Wolves Manager (apologies forgot name) , has it. About time now, a Season and 12 games in that Silva starts showing me and other doubters how wrong we are and how right the Club were to hire him.

{Ed025's Note - if you think vardy is the only player that is better than ours your kidding yourself BCT, schmeichel, perez, maddison, tielmans, chilwell, barnes and ndidi get in our team all day long mate, they also play as a team and work tirelessly for 90 minutes...thats why they are 2nd and we are 13th my friend..

2.) 09 Nov 2019 22:24:32
I'd also add Soyuncu to that list ed.

{Ed025's Note - i like what i have seen of him bunkbeds but thats not enough to make an informed judgement mate, and to be fair johnny evans alongside him has done very well too..

3.) 09 Nov 2019 22:42:32
And we are 3 points off 5th.

4.) 10 Nov 2019 08:29:48
I understand that Ed, point being that with better cohesion (togetherness) , this Squad would not could, be uo there. I am convinced (only go to home games) that with our supporters (away support is phenominal) and better (some) coaching and man-management we can be consistently top 7 once again and hopefully higher. Enjoyed that yesterday, not often have said that last 18 months.

{Ed025's Note - with a bit more luck BCT we could be 5th (bloody VAR), but i still think we need to be more consistent and we are still crying out for a striker mate..

5.) 11 Nov 2019 08:00:57
I agree with you on this Ed025 player for player they are better than Everton, their recruitment policy is far better, and look at some of the players they have sold on, it will take us a long time before we get to their level.

{Ed025's Note - unfortunately your right uran..

6.) 11 Nov 2019 09:21:54
i wouldn't say player for player they're better, but the majority are streets ahead yes.

04 Nov 2019 17:13:58
Just a point on Richarlison‘s theatrics. There were 2 occasions against Spurs where he went down too easy and stayed down. Whilst he was on the floor play carried on and the ball came back to the area he was laying in. If he’s have got back to his feet like any professional should, we would have retained the ball in a dangerous position.

This part of his game needs eradicating fast. It’s not helping the team and Refs are rightly wary of every time he goes to ground too softly which will cost us genuine free kicks which given where he plays will always be in dangerous positions.

He’s an excellent player but this part needs sorting.

Toffee ace

1.) 04 Nov 2019 19:48:57
There are players throwing themselves on the floor every week now and the refs and VAR are that bad they are giving free kicks and penalties for fun.
The only difference with Ricky is he isn't getting anything now.
He does need to stop doing it but it is getting like Zaha where the refs need to protect these guys when they are fouled or book them when its play acting.
It's the only way to stop it happening.

2.) 04 Nov 2019 20:28:11
He needs a few yellow cards then smit, there's ple ty of times he goes down when there is no chance of a free kick. He's doing us and himself no favours mate.

3.) 04 Nov 2019 20:52:22
Agree, a yellow here or there would stop all the divers but that rule seems to have disappeared since VAR came in.

4.) 04 Nov 2019 21:23:55
He needs pulling to one side and told to stay on his feet as his attempts at gaining free kicks and pens cheaply are failing miserably!
Manager Marco, manage your team matey .

5.) 05 Nov 2019 09:19:40
On the other hand Richarlison may just have a very low threshold to pain.

6.) 05 Nov 2019 11:54:00
A couple of yellows would stop the diving, he's getting a reputation for it.

7.) 05 Nov 2019 15:01:31
Richarlison needs to be dropped, just to wake him up, he is lazy and always feeling sorry for himself, your in the Prem now, harden up, tart.

8.) 05 Nov 2019 15:35:54
''harden up, tart. ''

Lol, one things for sure Lee, you don't work in a bakery because your'e fresh out of sugar coating mate! 😟.

9.) 05 Nov 2019 17:45:40
Bring in retrospective cards for diving and effectively cheating the ref that would soon cut them out when they realise they will be found out and punished 😳.

10.) 05 Nov 2019 18:32:47
You mean like Niasse getting a ban for simulation, had they followed that up handing out bans, it would have put a stop to it, instead they failed to follow it up with only handing out one further ban.

11.) 05 Nov 2019 19:25:02
And that would have meant Sons red card would have been rescinded and then he would have been booked for a dive.

12.) 05 Nov 2019 20:06:18
Well he has had his Red card rescinded unlike Niasse where we never supported him or appealed, too nice and the Premier league know this, hence the Niasse simulation, then the first penalty to be overturned by var, they know Everton will not appeal.

13.) 06 Nov 2019 09:16:54
I remember a quote from Ryan Giggs when Fergie said he should go down more often. Giggs said no boss, you don't score many goals lying down.

14.) 06 Nov 2019 10:59:19
lsiten, i agree the act that richy goes down easy and needs to pack it in, but the spotlight on this has been a joke from the times today, mane does this every week and gets nothing said about him? richarlison still should have had a penalty sunday and should have had sanchez sent off, both missed by VAR.

Surely there’s better than him out there. He is everything in a footballer that I dislike. The only positive For him is that he surely can’t be as thick as he looks. Some players have the opportunity to leave and manage to do it without too much trouble. Barkley is an Evertonian who somehow manages to upset practically everyone of his fellow supporters. That takes an unprecedented level of stupidity.

Yeah fair enough. I get your meaning when measured against playing staff (what was I thinking) . I’m a bit reluctant to start shouting hypocrisy though as if we’re honest with ourselves we all have moments where we expect a standard that we will fall below ourselves.

Is it that bad that they’re using Furlough to help pay their staff when there is no current income stream through no fault of their own? Football is a business that is affected by this pandemic as are retailers and other service providers. I have no issue with it personally. Regarding their complaint about the local funding of BMD, it’s just financial ignorance further complicated by their partisan ways. Supporting our clubs usually offers a degree of hypocrisy just listen to the songs from the stands. We all play our part.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - Yes it is bad but typical of the club.}

Ed 002. You often said that you spend time travelling regarding your involvement in the game. Not wishing to be nosey but has the restrictions on travel impacted what you do or are you able to fulfil your duty’s as such without too much disruption? I understand if you don’t post or reply.

Toffee ace

{Ed002's Note - I travel for business and was meant to have been in Israel, Geneva and Milan, before spending April in Arizona and California. Right now I am spending a lot more time on the phone, but it does not stop me doing whatever I need to do.}

Ultimately we need to sign the players needed to suit Ancelloti’s formation. There were more than a few players out there on Monday that weren’t good enough. I’m pretty sure Ancelotti saw that better and sooner than we did. I wouldn’t expect too much for now. Some players must move on and others must be signed. The constant needs to be the coaching staff, it’s the one world class thing we have.

I agree with the Gomes comment Chris. He ran out of puff by 75 mins. Still, defending was very good and whilst I also agree with the shredded nerves from watching Pickford By some posters, He also makes some really good saves 1 on 1. Happy with the performance and ultimately the result. Let’s just keep picking up points under the radar and see what happens at the end of the season. 👍.

There’s definitely a sign of the Italian way about our team. Two goals and then a solid defensive performance bar a jammy goal against. We’ve got 7 points against teams fighting for something. That a very good return since lockdown.
