Two great signings, top young talent, with no egos, third one will be the same.

1.) 04 Jan 2022 18:19:56
Yep really good with more to come apparently.

2.) 04 Jan 2022 18:20:58
Will he? Who is it?

3.) 04 Jan 2022 18:47:45
Burnley’s Dwight McNeil the next one!

{Ed0666's Note - I think he’s a proper proper player. Really like him.

4.) 04 Jan 2022 18:51:16
He would be excellent for us.

5.) 04 Jan 2022 19:34:31
Whilst would like to see McNeil play for us can’t see this one happening.

Apparently Burnley want £40m for him!

Also why would a team in a relegation battle sell one of their prized assets to a rival in the league?

Add to that as we’re currently in that relegation fight with Burnley surely it would make no sense for them to strengthen us at this time.

6.) 04 Jan 2022 19:49:32
He’s also another left winger.

7.) 04 Jan 2022 20:10:50
If a chairman thinks his club are going down I reckon he might take £40 million for a player in January.

{Ed0666's Note - McNeil is not gonna cost nowhere near £40 million British pounds when & if he’s sold. I’d be flabbergasted if he did.

8.) 04 Jan 2022 20:30:18
I saw they might be interested in Holgate perhaps a deal to be done? ??‍♂️.

9.) 04 Jan 2022 20:29:03
Ed66 we r Everton! 50 million! ?.

{Ed0666's Note - now that really made me chuckle thanks mate ?

10.) 04 Jan 2022 21:51:48
Swap em iwobi and Holgate for mcneil.

11.) 04 Jan 2022 23:23:58
Well it was feasible until you threw Iwobi in.

12.) 05 Jan 2022 08:35:40
Let's have a note of caution peeps. Disappointment comes partly because on this site (probably other teams have the same) , a couple of 'big' Club announcements are met with (in my view) ott enthusiasm/ expectations. Cheer it on by all means but temper that with a bit of wait and see. Iwobi comes to mind.

13.) 05 Jan 2022 09:50:05
Who would he replace in the team?

14.) 05 Jan 2022 11:54:29
Bring McNeil in for who?

15.) 05 Jan 2022 15:30:10
Bruno Guimaraes linked today, serious player. would improve our midfield 100% if we could pull it off.

16.) 05 Jan 2022 17:14:05
As much as I'd love some quality through the door I draw the line at pulling anybody off for them to sign.

17.) 06 Jan 2022 00:09:23
Yep straight swap for Holgate plus a Rafa bonus Iwobi.

18.) 06 Jan 2022 14:07:35
McNeil £40m or £50m with Holgate.

26 Jul 2021 07:47:21
Our three new signings, just happens to be our three best performer yesterday, !
What does this tell the Manager! and the knockers on this site!

{Ed0666's Note - that Rafa is a genius to get a tune out of 3 broken instruments

1.) 26 Jul 2021 09:04:14
Normally the way with new signings Uran. Not getting too excited just yet.

2.) 26 Jul 2021 10:18:02
It bodes well, uran, but it's one game! It's all about fitness in the first few games of preseason.

3.) 26 Jul 2021 11:24:08
Nothing much changed, they where faster to the ball than us, kept possession better than us, played better football than us and had more possession until the kids came on. Yes early days and hopefully Rafa can get them fit for the start of the season.

4.) 26 Jul 2021 11:51:14
Bluemike1 they are also 18 games into their season so they would obviously be mile's ahead of us in terms of fitness and match sharpness I thought second half we played very well and imo I thought Gomes had a great half.

5.) 26 Jul 2021 12:45:00
Not expecting our fans to make reasonable comments about pre season performances are you Branky?

6.) 26 Jul 2021 13:03:53
Thing is we've had pre seasons before where we've won all our games and then started the season badly! As long as Rafa is getting what he wants out of it re fitness/ development of style/ running rule over players then I couldn't give a monkeys on results and even performances. You wouldn't watch a boxer sparring a few weeks before a big fight and be worried that he didn't box the way you expect him to on the big night!

7.) 26 Jul 2021 13:05:27
Ha ha I should know better shouldn't I JBtoffee.

8.) 26 Jul 2021 18:40:13
Branky and JB, read what I said "until the kids came on". Why do you expect some of our players to change, they were slow and useless last season and they where the same yesterday, unless something miraculous happens they will be slow and useless when the season starts. The kids and the team where much better in the second half.

11 Nov 2019 17:46:52
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to renew their interest in Anthony Gordon

I hope we have on a good contract
Our Best talent since Rooney for me.

{Ed002's Note - There interest has not gone away.}

1.) 11 Nov 2019 19:18:29
Recently signed a four year contract according to reports.

2.) 12 Nov 2019 08:38:51
signed a four year deal in the summer, will get restless if not given the opportunity soon, feels he's ready for big league involvment.

22 Mar 2019 07:55:02
Linked this morning with Salomon Rondon, that's my type of front man
Really liked him at West Brom
Brilliant player. Sign him up Everton!

1.) 22 Mar 2019 09:44:14
Is he gunna get us 20 goals, I like rondon but is he that much better than DCL?

2.) 22 Mar 2019 13:49:37
Different type of striker to DCL, stronger, holds the ball up very well, just what we need.

3.) 22 Mar 2019 14:59:19
Hey Johny mate we definitely need a striker in the summer window, top priority I would say, DCL not the answer. good at times but goes missing.

4.) 22 Mar 2019 16:39:45
He wants to stay in Newcastle according to reports.

5.) 22 Mar 2019 17:14:25
Am not saying we don't need a striker but I dnt think rondon is better that DCL he is doing well for us right now, England u21 player of the year, scored for England again last night. He needs a run and competition not just replacing.

6.) 22 Mar 2019 17:33:16
Agree Johnny mate better striker req ASAP.

7.) 24 Mar 2019 08:21:32
I didn't say replace DCL if we move our other two strikers on and replace them with Rondon that would be great business, we need 3 Strikers.

8.) 24 Mar 2019 11:50:14
I would love Rondon a great Everton type centre forward, would not cost the earth be a great asset.

9.) 24 Mar 2019 15:44:46
DCL is coming on great and will hopefully step it up further next season. I would like someone else in to take pressure off him. Ed’s any chance of Callum Wilson being an option in the summer?

{Ed002's Note - Everton has shown no interest in him.}

10.) 24 Mar 2019 17:39:00
Ok thanks Ed.

11.) 25 Mar 2019 07:12:07
If Rondon could achieve 10 to 12 goals in a season along with another 10 to 12 goals from DCL and maybe 5 or 6 from Simms then that’s nearly 30 goals from the one position. That’s the way to go next season forget the one main striker that will gat you 25 to 30 goals a season they are just not available
This way we get blood our youngsters.

12.) 31 Mar 2019 16:49:36
Is Rondon good enough for a top six side? Personally I don’t think he is any better than mid table. We need to be looking at better players than him, I know they are not easy to find or attract to EFC at the moment but I agree with other comments that he’s no better than DCL.

13.) 31 Mar 2019 21:25:00
I'd we want a target man who can score goals surely Mitrovic would be a better option than Rondon.

31 Jan 2018 12:33:19
Mangala will be a great signing just what we need a big strong defender with pace, well done Allardyce
We should now start to climb the table, the team is now looking better balanced especially with the injured players coming back.

1.) 31 Jan 2018 18:01:12
Totally agree Uren, we've now got players in weak positions, we have players coming back, good win tonight and let wallcot show arsenal what there missing at the weekend.

It's so easy for everyone to cast blame on this site and from elsewhere, unfortunately that nature the game and only happens mainly when you are losing virtually every game, the TV pundits, journalists ex players love it and do all the time, however that all in the parcel of managers and players all earning mega bucks and they have to take it on the chin, the bit I can't understand is why our Manager after losing game after game doesn't change things, he needs a get out of Gail card a wild card to get us on a winning streak to push us up the table there is still a lot of points to play for! but if he continues to think that his current formation is all of a sudden start to win games then he is on an other planet
We need to play our most creative and skilful players then once in front bring on the Defensive minded ones and park the bus, just my opinion for what it's worth, probably nothing!

1.) 08 Apr 2022 12:40:34
Is he in corrie? A 'get out of Gail' card? Too many people have been in Gail, no wonder he wants out. :D

This season wouldn't look out of place in a corrie script. Such free fall and train crash since October time.

Need a proper soap ending to stay up.

2.) 08 Apr 2022 12:54:54
Some good points Uran
I'm not a fan of 'park the bus'. I don't think successful sides play that way

We had some success with it with Ancelotti and even Allardyce but the teams were well drilled in it and didn't have the mistakes we have in us now. Rafa tried it. Was OK at first but then got found out and the mistakes crept into our game. With players making silly mistakes the last thing you want is to park the bus and invite them onto you

If you had said 'see the game out' rather than park the bus I'd agree more with you. The good teams see the game out. They run down the clock by keeping possession rather than surrendering territory. Sure. once they lose the ball they get behind it but still leave options up front, but they still aim to win back possession and regain control

As Dyche said it's not something we are good at.

3.) 08 Apr 2022 17:01:27
Upps big spelling mistake Jail (Gail) thanks Geoff
BW24 good teams can see the game out unfortunately we are not a good team at this moment but yes once in front at Burnley we should of secured the win by getting behind the play or parking the bus whatever it takes.

07 Apr 2022 11:39:04
Frank Lampard has to take the blame for the losing run since he's taken over because he has constantly played the same players each week that keep making the same mistakes and contributing nothing to the fluency of the team, his rhetoric talk to the press after each losing game is the same " I am finding out about the players " making mistakes! And then for the following match one would expect changes in personal but no! Same old faces start the game, how is that 99% of the people who post on this site believe that certain players are not good enough for even a lower league team but he sees them differently along with his coaching staff, baffling!
Patterson get injured and all of a sudden he comes out and says that a shame as he was going to start his first game after his impressive Games for Scotland, bull rubbish!
Some of the players he constantly playing wouldn't command a transfer fee, we couldn't give them away, they would leave for free when their lucrative contact is up
Next game will be the same and the following games to the end of the season
Ok he might have Mina back along with Allan, Coleman also but I bet he still finds a place to play Kenny and Holgate and drops Branthwaite our best defender against Burnley by a mile and that's his first game in months so what does that tell you
Why didn't he play Ali last night, why hasn't he played Ghazi why didn't he play Rondon earlier in the game I wish the interviewer would ask him questions that we all want to know the answers to
If he doesn't change his personal and tactics to suit the team then I can't honestly see us achieving anything in the remaining games.

1.) 07 Apr 2022 12:59:36
I do partially understand where you're coming from Uran but Kenny was our only RB. Frank didn't have much option but to play him and he is beyond abysmal. He failed to stop crosses coming in so often it's like he doesn't understand that's part of the game.

DCL again abysmal. Needs to take a long hard look at himself. Passing was terrible. Didn't make a single run in behind all game. Don't think he got a flick on all game, maybe won 2 or 3 headers but went to no man's land. Passing, not sure he knows what passing is.

Other players were really bad too. Richy missed a couple of chances.

You can't blame Frank for that.

We played Burnley and the only way we could score was from penalties. With the possession and chances we had we can't blame Frank for that loss. We barely had any attacking subs. Rondon the only forward.

2.) 07 Apr 2022 13:23:08
Absolutely spot on that post uran. Completely agree with you.

3.) 07 Apr 2022 13:42:43
Nah, agree with Chris tbh. Players are awful and they've no been able to do it under 5 or 6 managers.

Carlo was successful because he parked 2 buses and had fit and firing one season wonder in dcl.

Ronson, you mad? Fans wanted to shoot him when rafa played him.

He should have swapped gray for dcl and moved richy inside to St.

Kenny the only rb,

No cbs, keane suspended and mina injured.

we have no midfield- Allan, gomez and Davies injured

Dcl so out of form it's unreal.

Gordon, gray, pickford, richy, iwobi in that order for player of season, which shows how awful we have been.

4.) 07 Apr 2022 14:13:04
Parking the bus would have actually done the job yesterday Geo. At 2-1 you need to decide what next, see out the game or do something different. That’s why managers are paid for their job.

5.) 07 Apr 2022 15:56:27
Controversial but a uncomfortable fact we are also down a certain attack midfielder no10 who was once the toast of Iceland. Just adding him to our CM woes. He was always worth at least 5 goals a season and same in assists. Maybe we could have done with those numbers come our final days in the top flight. No charges still yet we couldn't use our costliest asset. With the common madness of professional football players having a "darkside" shall we say, surely a directive should be agreed where upon a situation like that developing, a club should be able to terminate a contract with immediate effect, cancel their squad number and counter sue the player for their transfer fee. If we can't play him or sell him, the system is clearly broken. Or the alternative is to have a gagging order until such time as a player is charged and prosecution process has started. I'm only thinking from the unfairness to a club, not defending the player at all.

6.) 07 Apr 2022 16:15:05
Part of our problem is the constant changing of managers yet some want FL gone? Some fans have lost the plot more than the board. There are numerous examples of what happens when you burn through 5 or 6 new managers within a 5 or 6 year period and it never ends well.
Blame the current manager all you like but that's not the cause of our woes. These players have been stealing a living for a while, they should be taking the majority of the stick.
Do some of you want us to continue swapping and changing managers in the championship too? We will be in league one before we know it if the board listened to you!

06 Apr 2022 22:15:00
Gray was a much better player under Benitez
Better suited to the counter attacking style that Benitez thought suited the type quality of the players he had to achieve results.

1.) 06 Apr 2022 22:19:35
And yet Benitez was rubbish

Your point?

2.) 06 Apr 2022 22:19:45
He looks utterly lost under Lampard.

3.) 06 Apr 2022 22:34:31
That’s your opinion swab on Benitez not mine, he was playing to our strengths because he knew we lacked creativity in the midfield areas.

4.) 06 Apr 2022 22:41:18
He did not play to our strengths. We were awful under Benitez too.

5.) 06 Apr 2022 23:22:58
Gray is no longer a team player. Tries to take on the world and won't pass to anyone. He has become the new Iwobi.

6.) 07 Apr 2022 00:02:53
Then you clearly hadn’t watched us this season.

7.) 07 Apr 2022 03:19:46
Benitez is rubbish so what's your point? Are you for real? You've bleated on and on about Benitez yet the lil fat man with no managerial experience is winning your hearts, when in actual fact, is the biggest mistake your club has ever made.
When you actually start to realise that the players you have, you know, the ones brought in by all your managers over the past few seasons, are not actually good enough, you might start to understand where the problem lies.
When Ancelotti came in, you were praising him to the high heavens. Even posts of winning this and that as i remember. The fact is, he came in and saw what a shambolic state the club was in and packed his bags and run down the road asap. Rafa came in and his hands were tied. You can only do so much with the rubbish he had at his disposal. He got the chop, and bigger fool your hierarchy for doing it. You will pay the ultimate price for that. Then i see posts regarding Big Dunc. Really? Big Dick more like. That's your saviour is it? Get a grip . When Rafa got the chop, you turn to a man that did nothing at Derby and got sacked at Chelsea, but hey ho, nothing has changed and if anything, you have got worse. For that, you deserve everything you've got coming to you
I personally want Everton to stay up and i hope they do. Some of you fans though need to open your eyes and smell the coffee
You can slate me all you like but the reality is, you've jumped out of one fire and straight back into an inferno with the choices made. If 2 well known class managers, that have been there and done it time and time again can't sort it, how can you expect 2 idiots (Fatty and Donk) to make any difference when they know shag all about management?

8.) 07 Apr 2022 05:29:46
The truth hurts RD great post.

9.) 07 Apr 2022 07:39:21
Good post that I agree with to an extent but Rafa had to go, we were having like 20% possession in the matches and not getting anything from them. That decision was a no brainer in the end, hiring Frank on the other hand was definitely an odd one.
We’re now used to them.

06 Apr 2022 22:09:06
If Lampard keeps playing Kenny, Holgate, Mikilenko and Godfrey in the middle of defence then we are doomed.

1.) 06 Apr 2022 22:15:34
Thought mykolenko played well tonight.
Kenny is more of a right winger than a rightback - cannot defend.

2.) 06 Apr 2022 22:16:29
If he plays Keane or Coleman we are doomed

We just are doomed basically. No matter what.

3.) 06 Apr 2022 22:19:53
He can’t play football mate.

4.) 06 Apr 2022 22:20:20
Keane is coming back next week ?.

5.) 06 Apr 2022 22:23:36
Who else was he supposed to play?

6.) 06 Apr 2022 22:39:31
He regularly plays Kenny and Holgate for his own reasons, they are just not good enough.

7.) 06 Apr 2022 23:46:12
We had no other right back!

8.) 07 Apr 2022 05:34:49
Every time Godfrey plays centre back we concede at set pieces, he is definitely not a centre back for the Premiership level, the only place for him is left back when it suits a certain situation.

{Ed025's Note - I have been saying it all season Iran..

9.) 07 Apr 2022 05:41:13
If we have no better right back in the under 21s then that just shows how bad the situation is at this club.

04 Apr 2022 07:45:03
Surprise that Frank never gave a start to Ali when Beek was withdrawn, he has played this position for Spurs

Is Holgate a better Midfielder than Ali?

Also it baffles me why he doesn't play Branthwaite?

1.) 04 Apr 2022 08:52:47
Ali has no discipline whatsoever. where do you play him? the guy ghosted around and that is not what you want from your CM whose job is to hold and block passing lines. He did a mistake by not 3 playing in the middle to contain Westham.

2.) 04 Apr 2022 09:05:42
We lost because of 2 individual errors.
Team was actually set up ok and contained West Ham reasonably well.
We need to cut out the individual errors - thankfully Keane now not available next game.

However the more pressing issue is we need to find the target - think as a team we’ve had fewest shots on target over last 5 games.

Doesn’t matter how we set up if we can’t score.

3.) 04 Apr 2022 12:08:31
It’s obvious his team selection is not working.

4.) 04 Apr 2022 14:24:05
No it’s obvious the strikers are not doing their job. Two of them had good chances yesterday and wasted them. While one of them just drifted in and out the game when he felt like.
Can’t fault Frank for picking DCL, Richy and Gray. Between the three of them they should have done a lot better.

5.) 04 Apr 2022 18:29:29
Richarlison scores regularly for Brazil, DCL did well for England. If and when they both go to other Clubs they will do well for them. All strikers need service.

6.) 05 Apr 2022 00:14:43
Dfs I watch them closely and only Richy was trying to make runs in behind the defence. The other two just stood still. Sometimes a striker has to come and demand the ball, Vigny see any of that from these three.

Well he got You Villa promoted, if he has 4 good games between now and the end of the season that will do us, anyway you have just signed a better one from Barcelona that’s been a huge success, Not, plus you just signed the best left back in the country!

I felt the same as you Sa90 he avoided the question but he is a good player and I am sure he will be a success but I can’t see us going in now for any match winner in January, as ideally we needed a creative, powerful, attacking dribbling midfielder to play in DCL and Richarlison
With Mina coming back then we will be much better in the defence department, no doubts we will have a better second half of the season now that we will have a full strength squad.

For Bernard to say most people don’t see what goes on behind the scene at Everton is insinuating that there is a deep rooted problem before Rafa was appointed, interesting and alarming statement to make, no wonder the owner is making a complete new review of the club.
