Can I check with the Ed's that the Marcelo link is utter b. locks?!
We have digne, nkonku and keep hearing that small is supposed to be class. surely we are trying to sign a right back not a left back?!?!

Whitty39

{Ed025's Note - a load of tripe as far as im concerned whitty mate..

1.) 14 Jun 2021 20:48:50
Haha thanks, I thought as much!

16 May 2021 00:30:51
Any of the Ed's know whether there is genuine interest in Moussa Diaby of Leverkusen? he's one heck of a player and only 21. I would be over the moon if we landed him! (Suspect its paper talk and bigger clubs will be in for him? )

Whitty39

{Ed002's Note - Moussa Diaby (LW/RW) Bater Leverkusen were approached about the player by Borussia Dortmund and told he was not for sale but Leon Bailey might be at the right price - and Everton are one of the sides that has spoken with Bayer Leverkusen about.}

06 Jan 2021 20:35:28
Do any of the Ed's if there is any serious interest in Moises caicedo l? And is he any good?
I m probably wrong but I have a bad feeling about Eriksson, seems he left spurs under a cloud and hasn't worked out at inter. I doubt we would get him either on a loan or a perm anyway. Either way he is one I would swerve. I would be happy with just Aaron's and as few outs.

Whitty39

{Ed002's Note - He cannot be compared to Eriksen at all, Khedira perhaps. My understanding is that Moises Caicedo impressed when Manchester United were following up on looking at another player who they had first seen in the Real Sociedad reserves. There has been interest in Caicedo from other sides including Ajax, Atlanta, Inter Miami, PSV and Chelsea. Someone senior at Chelsea is very keen. I am not aware of any approach by Everton but an independent scout who has worked for Everton in South America attended games to watch him in September and October.}

30 Nov 2020 15:58:55
Is this khedira news nonsense? Surely we don't want a 33 year old when we signed allan?
I don't understand why niels and anthony gordon can't get a game. Find the whole situation really bizarre. 1st half against fulham is exactly how I want to see everton play but last game and a half has been dire. I think we need a lot more pace and width which surely niels and gordon would bring?

Whitty39

{Ed002's Note - There is no doubt the player would be open to working with the coach agains, and he will be available in January. Makes no sense for Everton at all.}

Was hoping we would be moving away from being a final pay cheque club.

Would anyone have Gareth southgate as a long term appointment? . I think he would be a good pick. Certainly better than some of the names being banded about. Personally would give it Duncan until the end of the season.

1.) 19 Jan 2022 01:36:35
Absolutely not, he’s dreadful. Fluked a World Cup semi final thanks to some penalties and late corners. Has favourites who he never drops, tactically inept, boring football and very negative mindset. Sam Allardyce with better looks.

2.) 19 Jan 2022 07:12:25
Totally agree with all that Swan except the looks bit.

3.) 19 Jan 2022 07:41:02
Crap at boro, crap at England u21s. Yeah let's get him in because of England. Remember martinez? He's Belgium manager remember.

4.) 19 Jan 2022 08:26:50
Southgate got the England job because he behaves himself and tows the FA line, not because he's a particularly good manager and I seem to remember he wasn't a particulary good club manager too.

5.) 19 Jan 2022 09:14:27
Better looks. come on Big Sam is handsome.

6.) 19 Jan 2022 09:33:50
Don’t even like him as England manager.

7.) 19 Jan 2022 10:05:07
Strong argument that we’ve missed 2 opportunities to win a major tournament under him now. Nice chap. Underachiever.

8.) 19 Jan 2022 17:24:40
Southgate useful as a dentists dummy or advertisment for jobs for life, that's about it.

9.) 19 Jan 2022 18:58:00
Should have been bags for life.

15 Jan 2022 15:21:33
2 0 norwich. I lke the raf but he can't get a tune out of this lot. Think that's his lot now.

Whitty39

1.) 15 Jan 2022 15:45:25
He is a dinosaur and should never have been given the job. He has to go today preferably at half time. Our club is a joke.

2.) 15 Jan 2022 15:49:27
''Getting a tune'' Rafa seems to have the habit these days, of bashing a violin with a drumstick .

08 Jan 2022 20:29:47
Want it to work for rafa equally I don't want the instability sacking another manager brings however I agree he doesn't help himself. 5 at the back and starts Kenny and rondon. Both league 1 players. Hope that new right back is decent and can hit the ground running as Kenny is crap.

Whitty39

1.) 09 Jan 2022 11:06:17
Ok what formation would you play with the standard of the players you have fella what do you expect you have lost 12 games on the trot .
When you have Manchester United players who can not be motivated on probably three times the money your lot are on how do you motivate them. Your own hero Howard high lighted this when he was in charge if I am right he quoted how can i motivate players on ten grand a week with a two grand win bonus so this has been going on in your club for many years by the sounds of it. Your French left back highlights this has been below his standards gets dropped then throws his teddy out the pram and you lot a screaming why he is not in the team. get a grip will you blues you embarrass your selves with your moaning.

2.) 09 Jan 2022 21:04:49
Not sure if that post is aimed at me 'albeydered' to be honest like a lot of red-noses I've no idea why you are so obsessed with efc and are spending you on assumably valuable time commenting on a forum for a team you don't support. Anyway to get it straight, I'm not in the rafa out camp, nor do I disagree with the rant about how the club has been ran poorly for years. I get all that and ya don't need to try and teach ya gran how to suck eggs. As a man I like rafa I think he's decent, I still think he can turn it around BUT kenny is crap and so is rondon - that's literally the only point I was making and that a back 5 with that personel will not work. Hope that clears it up for ya, no f off back to your own page ta ta now.

Got to agree with gingerdan and geoffjohno. if richarlison is our best player in 25 years you must be tripping or lived under a rock in that time frame. funnily enough I compiled my best 11 since we had some success in the 80s. As follows.

Martyn
Baines
Watson
Jags.
Coleman

Kanchelskis
Arteta
Graveson
Pienaar

Cahill
Lukaku

As for our current crop Gordon aside I couldn't give a rubbish frankly if we sold the lot of them.

Don't mean to be glass half empty but I'm a realist and to get us to top 6 and a respectable outfit with the amount of damage that has been done since 2017 I think it will take considerably longer than 3 years. I would now take, better atmosphere, survival and gradual improvement.

Utterly inept. Never know such a ridiculous situation. Under 14s clubs are ran far better than efc. Utter shambles and I've no doubt we will be plying our trade in the championship if not next season then its only a matter of time.
Also why on earth are we hearing rumours of wanting another right back? We have just splashed cash we don't have (and a lot of it ) on Patterson.

I agree toffee davey. We have had some awful decisions go against us this season. Reality though is that this team is atrocious and I'm afraid as the saying goes you cannot dress up a turd.
Done well to win a couple recently but think this was largely down to the 12th man. If we go down then drawing with watford away was probably the final nail. If we stay up and hopefully there is still a fair chance then I fear for next season because this lot are woeful. For the richarlison lovers on here pukki has more than him, I think that stat goes a long long long way to explain were his problem lies. Mykalenko looks a good signing however the recruitment has been so so poor over the last 5 years we are left with half a squad that we cannot punt on. Certain holgate scores recently and he's beaming post match, some of you want him to play midfield next season, so do I but for say someone like rochdale! He's just 1 of many absolutely shocking players.

Fail to capitalise tomorrow with at least a draw then in all honesty we deserve to go down. Numerous occasions been in this situation and that bunch let us down by bottling it. Time to buck up there ideas and start to pull away.

I couldn't agree more. Personally I like dyche. I wonder if he will take over at rovers though as mowbray has announced he is leaving? . we will see!
Off to lugano vs grasshoppers Zurich tomorrow and milan fiorentina on Sunday (a bit of escapism from the Premier league)
Hopefully a win for the reds and blues this weekend and we all enjoy a happy Bank Holiday Monday!
Peace!

Had my differences in the past with ed666 but siding with him in regards the Derby
Number 1 it was a week ago we all need to put it to bed now
2 neither were pens
3 we did OK but didn't deserve to take much or anything from the game
4 thought it was fairly well refed so happy to give the officials some praise for once
5 if you think mane should have been sent off then really we are clutching at staws

Everton forthcoming relegation has nothing to do with how we performed home and away against lfc its down to the worst away form in the league, the minus 21 goal difference, the fact that we haven't been able to string two wins together and ultimately the worst collective team I've ever seen in 40 years on this planet assembled by an atrocious board who have hired and fired several managers. Simple as that.
Ed666 good luck for rest of season. Would be exciting to see q quadruple.

Whitty39

{Ed0666's Note - Hey Whitty Thankyou for the magnanimity mate I really appreciate it. I was ambivalent towards Everton going down but after yesterdays podcast with Eds 025 I hope you don’t. I really think he’ll do something silly if you do (I exaggerate for the narrative). however I disagree about one of your points concerning the derby, if you had scraped a result I would have been enraged as it would have meant the title challenge over but if I was being sincere I would have had to accept it as we didn’t impress at all, create a raft of chances. Did we deserve the three points? Regardless of if you go down or not get on the blower to Sean Dyche and somehow get him to manage your club. He knows how to build a club from the bottom and unfortunately that’s the position you find yourself in today.

Agree wacka. If we go down which I think is a reality now I would definitely keep rondon, it's a very physical league and he is the sort of player that could find his feet. I would be gutted if we lost Gordon nut as other posters have said it would test the metal of our other youngsters. I know a lot won't agree but I would miss non of the following:

Dcl
Richarlison
Keane
Iwobi
Gomes
Holgate
Kenny
Allan
Dacoure
Delph
Tosun
Sigurdson

All of the above should be utterly ashamed of themselves. If we could keep townsend as well, he could be very useful in the championship, give us some much needed experience.
