If the comments from Joorabchian are correct then it really hammers home the trouble we're in. The players he says he offered Moshiri but we turned down are mind-blowing, especially given who the board apparently chose to bring in instead. The most frightening one being Guimaraes but we went with Gbamin.
1.) 25 Jan 2023 14:55:00
This the same guy who said Tevez never downed tools at United. Also the same guy who pushed for us to sign the likes of Coutinho.
I don’t believe a word he says.

The biggest problem that leads to conjecture/ rumour/ conspiracy claims is a lack of Communication.
3.) 25 Jan 2023 16:41:31
Are there any honest agents out there really?
4.) 25 Jan 2023 21:26:34
None that I can see Woburn. Absolute leeches.
5.) 26 Jan 2023 09:17:35
Blokes got a face you just want to punch. Am I right?

The lack of stability in playing partnerships for me is the issue. We've got some great individual players but but we don't have a team because of all the changes every game.
When we had our best results under Moyes we didn't have the best players, but we had practiced partnerships like Baines and Pienaar, Jagielka and Lescott.
When Leicester won the league they had what looked like a bang average set of players, but there were partnerships like Huth and Morgan, Drinkwater and Kante, Mahrez and Vardy.
For me we have an average set of players at best - remarkable given what we spent in the summer - but we could have a decent team if there was consistency in starting line up. You can't build partnerships or team spirit when you start with a different team every week, nor when you make changes at half time. We need to pick an 11 and stick with it unless we have injuries.
1.) 30 Oct 2017 08:12:30
I agree, although it's not the sole issue, it is a good point! Look at all great teams or even good teams and they have some sort of partnership whether it be a defensive pairing or a creator and finished type, right now you guys have too many ageing players who for some reason won't be dropped. The CB although in their day were great they're just too slow now, the midfield isn't sure enough to protect them either. Everton has an abundance of young talent and it has to get to the point where somebody says 'what do we have to lose'. I hope you manage to fix the issues you have but people calling for ancelotti etc is futile. The thing for me is who will want to manage this Everton team at the minute because although I'm sure you'll be safe I don't know what needs doing personally to fix this state of affairs, I have a few ideas but hey ho I'm not a manager. Goodluck fellas.

SSN just reported we've had a bid turned down for Raul Jiminez at Benfica. Anyone seen much of him?

I’m so happy ? happy Pppp.
14 Jan 2023 18:23:42
I can't see Moshiri sacking Lampard even after that result. He put himself in a corner writing that letter, saying it was the fans' fault he sacked previous managers and has complete faith in the work Lampard, his team and the board are doing. If he sacks Lampard just a few days after writing that then he looks weak as well as incompetent, whereas before he just looked incompetent.
I don't understand how he's apparently made billions in business. If the board or management team at one or all of those companies were running the business into the ground, surely he'd sack them otherwise he wouldn't have the billions he apparently has. Yet for some reason he seems perfectly happy with what's going on at the club.
So depressing to watch what's happening to this once great club. Now I know how Newcastle fans felt watching an owner seemingly deliberately run their club into the ground.
1.) 14 Jan 2023 18:33:46
I agree mate, and would like to highlight the sentance, for some reason he's running the club down to the ground? strange times indeed.
2.) 14 Jan 2023 18:36:29
Made millions hanging off the Russians coat tails.
3.) 14 Jan 2023 18:56:35
He's an accountant. Doesn't see people just numbers. Numbers don't show emotion.
4.) 14 Jan 2023 19:11:45
He is the worst accountant in the history of accountancy in that case. He didn’t see the sustainability breach coming and doesn’t seem to realise what the numbers will look like when we get relegated.
5.) 14 Jan 2023 20:11:41
Oh but he will soon Woburn and serves him right. Trouble is he will come out all smiles.

Does anyone know much about our young forward Anthony Gordon? I've seen a couple of articles saying the German big guns are interested so I'm assuming he must be good but I haven't seen him play.
1.) 24 Nov 2018 12:53:20
I've only seen him play a couple of times Windsor and if i'm being brutally honest he did nothing to make me believe these links, perhaps these scouts have identified something in his game that I missed. Very tidy footballer but don't see where the hype is coming from yet. The lads that impressed me most from the games i've watched were Simms and Adedoyin, I think both could possibly have a big future at the club.
2.) 25 Nov 2018 09:38:41
Thanks BB. Those are the two I’ve heard more about so makes sense.
{Ed002's Note - There is interest from Borussia Dortmund in Anthony Gordon as they continue to saturate youth team games in England with scouts. They also have interest in players from Liverpool, Manchester City, West Ham, Fulham and two from Chelsea. They are not the only German side taking this approach with Borussia Muenchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen having approached Chelsea about a couple of youngsters as well and Wolfsburg have spoken with Brighton about a kiddie. This approach will increase as time passes.}
17 Oct 2018 08:42:41
What's everyone's thoughts on Ramsey? Out of contract at the end of the season so guess he'd be of interest.
I've always liked him. Get some a few goals, defence-splitting passes and could link up well with Walcott (again) and Richarlison playing balls in behind.
Only issues for me are injury record - although it isn't as bad as Walcott's was and he's been fine - and where would he play? Sig's looked class in the number 10 role but Ramsey would be wasted in a DM position, so that only leaves a Glenn Hoddle love train down the middle of the park - Gueye as DM, Ramsey CM and Sig at 10 - which wouldn't work.
1.) 17 Oct 2018 09:41:23
Great player he's never coming to us though. He will be at a champions league club next season.
2.) 17 Oct 2018 10:32:43
Agree with Jacamo, fantastic player but no chance he’ll come to us. He’s leaving Arsenal because he believes he can cut it at a higher level team I’ve heard, so that rules us out.
3.) 17 Oct 2018 11:42:45
I agree, but can’t see which of the bigger clubs need him. City don’t, I’d argue Chelsea don’t unless Hazard goes, he wouldn’t go to Spurs and I can’t see him playing under Moaninho. Guess that leaves the neighbours which would be gutting! Either that or abroad but can’t see any of the big guns in Europe taking him.
4.) 17 Oct 2018 12:04:15
I like him and feel he might come as we have Wallcot and maybe a little passed his best so might not attract a champion league club. I would love Ramsey at Everton be a great signing, we could offer him first team football.
5.) 17 Oct 2018 12:04:35
might fancy being a star at us instead of another player at a top team you never no.
6.) 17 Oct 2018 14:23:10
I think if we get the twin CBs performing consistently then we could have Gueye on his own in front of them and both Sig and Ramsey as AMs with one dropping back slightly to cover when the other goes forward. Reckon we’d have real creativity there with Richarlison and Walcott (plus Lookman) on the wings. Still not convinced Tosun is a 20+ a season striker so would like to see a quality CF come in, but definitely want to keep him.
I don’t think we’re far away now. If we can get some consistency I reckon we’ll have a good season and put ourselves in a position to attract players of Ramsey’s quality next year.
7.) 17 Oct 2018 18:18:05
I would much rather see a 15-20+ striker come first.
8.) 18 Oct 2018 15:17:35
This has to be one of the most irritating phrases thrown around regarding transfers. You here it all the time, as if such things grow on trees.
I don't think many managers ever said I want you to go out and get me a 5-10 goal Striker did they?
9.) 18 Oct 2018 15:40:27
No brainer. Quality and a worker and scores goals from midfield. and on a free?
10.) 18 Oct 2018 21:37:24
Ramsey will probably end up signing for Liverpool.
12 Oct 2018 10:41:43
Morning Blues. I'm heading up to Goodison for the Brighton game but driving rather than getting the train this time. Any ideas where is best to park that is relatively near the ground but that you can get out fairly easily after the game? Staying in town so want to be that side.
Cheers.
1.) 12 Oct 2018 13:35:48
I think you are best parking down past Walton Police station on the right in Cherry Lane in the car park. They charge a tenner but you are the right side to head for the m62 and hence m6. Enjoy mate.
2.) 12 Oct 2018 15:47:51
Normally park in Ayrshire road just off Utting Avenue then cut through Anfield Cemetery. Only about a 15/ 20 minute walk. Always free parking spaces and nice and easy to get out ðŸ‘ðŸ¼.
3.) 12 Oct 2018 16:00:33
Thanks Degsy.
4.) 12 Oct 2018 16:26:48
Thanks BB.
5.) 14 Oct 2018 12:23:18
Windsor, I've used a couple of those websites where people close to Football Grounds advertise to rent out their driveways. You can get quite close to the ground but not close enough to get caught up in "football traffic". Prob 10 min walk on average and costs £8 ish.
6.) 15 Oct 2018 21:01:21
Best bet mate would be to get the soccer bus from Lime street and leave the car at your hotel. The buses leave from the road that the police close by Stanley park so you get away handy. Think its about £4 return so cheaper than any parking.
7.) 16 Oct 2018 10:15:42
Thanks everyone, much appreciated.
30 Oct 2023 20:56:12
Anyone can see that posting losses of £430m over three seasons when the limit is just over £100m is a fairly sizeable problem. The PL may have been reviewing expenditure after the fact but it’s not unreasonable to think that if you’re running a several hundred million pound business you have the money and wherewithal to appoint people capable of adhering to whatever regulations you’re governed by.
Nobody else to blame apart from Moshiri. There’s a reason Arsenal wouldn’t let Usmanov or him anywhere near the decision making process.
It’s also not about throwing the book at us to make a point or about what City have or haven’t done. This is about the mismanagement of our club and it will be judged on that alone. Other clubs are in the spotlight for largely different reasons, so the outcome of our case will likely have no bearing on theirs.
25 Oct 2023 22:50:45
I thought the court case related to P&S breaches but Sky News reporting this is a tax issue regarding loans on the new stadium. A lot of speculation going around but no point worrying about it until it’s actually done.
14 Oct 2023 21:22:02
I actually think Phillips is a decent player and would definitely be an upgrade on Gana, who unfortunately looks shot now. Had an unlucky injury and was never getting back in ahead of Rodri. Let’s be honest, we aren’t an attractive option to the best players and clearly don’t have Brighton’s scouting network, so if he’d come for a decent price and contract, I’d take him.
21 Aug 2023 22:46:54
I like Dyche because he says it like it is, but his persistence with Keane is ridiculous. Branthwaite is more physical and Godfrey is a better athlete. I’d play either before Keane.
DCL was unlucky with that injury and clearly wanted to stay on, so people giving him sh1t when he was rightly taken off are out of line. Saying that, he can’t stay fit long enough to get sharp so really isn’t the answer.
Onana is a weird one. The abuse he got online was bang out of order. If a white player has a bad game people say he’s cr@p, but why when a black player has a bad game does it become because he’s black? Drives me mental. Looks to be talented but not really sure what his position is. Has the athleticism to be box to box, but doesn’t seem to add anything.
Gueye looks shot to me. Certainly not the player we sold to PSG.
21 Aug 2023 22:38:41
Mate of mine is a Leeds fan and apparently Gnonto has no release clause went from pushing for the move to saying he didn’t want it today. Apparently he reckons another PL side is interested. Don’t really blame him as he probably doesn’t want two relegations in two seasons on his CV.
30 Jan 2024 21:19:35
Think it’s harsh to judge Thelwell just yet. He’s trying to make a royal banquet on a busker’s budget. Beto and Chermiti don’t look great, but that’s probably desperation. The damage was done years before he took over as DoF.
Like many others, I thought we were heading for the big time when Moshiri (and Usmanov) came in. Reality is it’s now clear why Arsenal wouldn’t let them anywhere near making decisions.
Best we can hope for is to somehow stay up and reinvest the revenue BMD will bring. We’ve been lacking commercial income for years, just hope it doesn’t come too late.
28 Jan 2024 10:49:35
Beto is definitely not up to it, but DCL isn’t much better. People have talked about him like he’s top drawer for years because of a couple of short purple patches. Hasn’t scored in 15 games and looks like he won’t score for another 15 years.
18 Nov 2023 21:26:51
Moshiri didn’t help by officially filing the argument that he had to replace our non-existent midfield. Were bang to rites, but 10 points is definitely disproportionate.
17 Nov 2023 23:27:35
For what it’s worth, Moshiri has run this club like sh*t from top to bottom for years. Don’t like to speak ill of the dead, but Kenwright was his ‘knowledgeable man’ so they’re both culpable.
Reality is we were bang to rights through years of absolute incompetence. The only surprises were firstly that we were only £20m over the limit and secondly that the penalty seems unduly harsh, especially given administration gets you nine points.
Whichever way you look at it, I think the points deduction is the least of ours worries. 777 Partners look a far bigger problem long term given I’d back us to stay up anyway.
17 Nov 2023 23:21:37
Thanks pal, much appreciated. For what it’s worth, hope you push those boys all the way this season before their 30 point deduction in March haha.
