Look it's ok Dyche telling the players that they need to do the "hard yards" to the end of the game. But when you're spent your spent, and it's the job of the manager to notice this and make the changes accordingly.
Dyche didn't do this. Instead he took off two forwards who had been giving the opposition defence problems all day, and replace them like for like with two players who are not in the same bracket.
He did this while both Tim and Seamus were out on their feet, having given everything they had. We were 2-0 to the good, the game was won, and we had Garner and Dixon on the bench.
Keane got booked and began to look uncomfortable, we had O'Brien on the bench.
Yet he substituted forward players for forward players. Then has the gall to have a go at the players.
Sorry Sean but football is not about eleven players anymore, it's about a squad. And you seem incapable of knowing how to use your squad.
Poor, poor man management.

Absolutely spot on Woburn.

2.) 01 Sep 2024 22:17:15
That’s his job to manage this type of situation, unfortunately he failed badly.

100% correct Woburn.

4.) 02 Sep 2024 11:31:48
Can't argue with that post woburn.

Fact is SD is an old school manager struggling with change. There is very little modern thinking in him and we are being schooled on the pitch as a result.

If he is the only coach to do manager days training sessions and you’re sat at the bottom of the league with the highest goal against stat ( yes SD not xG - but the ones that cross the line in the real world) , then you have to look at how the time spent on the training pitch is used.

He has stayed longer than Sam Custard Slice did so he can walk away with some bragging rights when those two and Pullis meet up for their regulars tactics catch-up.

Serious question. Has there ever been a time when a manager has been sent out on loan?

Serious answer, who’d take Dyche on loan? No one bothered when he was free.

2.) 25 Aug 2024 17:51:11
That’s not a serious answer. That’s a question. I was only having a bit of fun by the way.

3.) 25 Aug 2024 20:16:39
As was I. The question can be answered by a question. It’s called rhetorical affirmation.

4.) 25 Aug 2024 23:08:46
Wow! Nice.

I was listening to the match on the radio while waiting for my flight, and one of the commentators said "the only way Everton will score is from a set piece". He then pointed out that even if we got a free kick in our own half, the plan seemed to be for Pickford to launch it into the Spurs box and hope for the best.
I think now would be a good time to remove our motto from our badge. It's embarrassing.

Why are any of you not surprised. Dyche is a manager who's profile was he keeps teams in the league. That slipped a little when Burnley went down, but that is still his level.
The guy will never develop a team to challenge in the top half of the league, he doesn't have that ability. He doesn't trust young players, but prefers to use old "experienced " players who can play multiple positions.
So yes we will keep him for another season, and yes he will keep us up. But only because that's his level, and not because he's a great manager.

Disappointed we didn’t let Beto go. The guy is a very average footballer, would struggle in the Championship.

Ndiaye is a natural No10, would be wasted on the wing. Also doesn’t matter who leads the line if they’re on their own. Need to play two strikers and stop this negative formation.

It is strange that Dyche is literally standing right next to him on the touchline. Surely not that hard to have a word and tell him to hold his position.

Not sure why we didn’t try moving him on in the window. Another top earner who doesn’t earn his money.

There’s a lot of people in the crowd watching who would be happy to run around a lot and work hard for that money. But like Beto their not Premiership standard.

Beto is Championship level at best. When are we going to move away from this lauding players who simply run around a lot. Give me a lazy Lukaku who knows how to score goals any day. Rather than a grafter who can’t hit a barn door.

Woburnblue 2

{Ed025's Note - spot on for me Woburn, it just shows how low our standards have dropped at this club, Latchford, Royle, Sharpe, Lukaku...and even Jelavic he is not, now im not asking for that sort of quality because the situation we are in i understand thats not possible at this time....but come on guys surely we are a bit better than this FFS..
