I think he will be on the bench, I just cannot see SD starting him over Holgate. If I was SD I’d avoid Holgate at all costs. If he has a shocker, which he no doubt will, SD will be vilified. If Dixon starts and has a shocker, which may happen, SD will receive a lot more support and sympathy from the supporters.

He is a cracking player Rob, but as you say he’s always injured; however, SD does seem to be very good at looking after players and getting them fit. As ever it would depend on the price and salary, we need to be very careful. As for Beto, I can’t see us selling both DCL and him, but let’s see.

Just been everton u21 v tranmere Dixon was impressive properly best player on pitch. Game changes massively when shreiff come on he was handful.

Don't take much stock pre season results but we were awful . Sooner we get rid of keane holgate better. Surely we bring rb in I love seamus to bits but his legs have been gone for about 4 seasons now .
{Ed025's Note - i started watching it and had to switch off Bretto, it was awful mate and they looked like none of them had ever played football in their lives, i know its only pre-season and its mainly about getting fit but its still very worrying, hopefully not many of them will play when the season starts..

Reading what SD said afterwards I’d applaud his honesty. We’re missing our injured players and the fringe players just aren’t good enough. He also said that it’s difficult to work on the tactics without these key players.
Dyche i'd start on that right now mate. We were schooled by a side we would hope to beat if we were relegated.
Still a few weeks to go but I’m starting to worry already. Three games played with a 9-3 aggregate score.

I'm not a fan of Dyche, but I really hope that he does well, because if he does well then it means that the team is doing well.
I know that pre-season is all about fitness, but Dyche is all about fitness full stop. Our players look knackered already. Double gaffers day last week and a 13.5K run the day before we played Salford is just too much. We'll probably have them dropping like flies before we've kicked a ball in anger.
I feel that his methods are cause for concern and I believe that we survived last season in spite of and not because of Dyche. I don't feel that you can paper over the cracks and ignore a 15 game run without a win.
Hard graft can only take you so far. So far all Dyche has done is show us that he is a Gravy Tits clone. I sincerely hope that he shows us that he has more strings to his bow and can be more expansive with the signings we have made, but I won't hold my breath.

I too turned off the friendly before half time as was so poor as was Salford performance. What’s obvious is we desperately need a new striker to get goals this season. DCL has looked poor and uninterested and Betto just isn’t good enough. Chermitti looks better but still won’t provide ammunition alone to keep us in PL!

We where bad mates, if anyone played at a high stranded, you try and play your best to play in the first game of the season, CL is just not interested or is it he is just rubbish, and so is Dyche.
