I'm going to add some weight to our management search.
I think the choice is pretty slim, we are a poison chalice at the moment and I believe we need someone who at least knows the English game. Potter would be ideal but there's no chance. Big dunc doesn't have the pulling power and I feel he picks the same wrong teams as Rafa etc.
That leaves Rooney or Lampard as the only two realistic managers. both lack experience but have some pulling power and know our game. painful times.

1.) 28 Jan 2022 14:39:19
Wow. weighty.

2.) 28 Jan 2022 14:27:12
Ferguson on his way by train to London to be interviewed according to reports. Seems a little odd since the board must know him in and out. I would rather leave him in charge until the end of the season. Any of the three mentioned so far are a risk so go with the person who knows the capabilities of the squad and who at least cares about the club.

3.) 28 Jan 2022 16:05:08
Gonna say the same Brownshoes. Very weighty.

4.) 28 Jan 2022 17:04:30
I reckon they are interviewing the next 3 manager to see us through to christmas, they will announce them in reverse order.

5.) 28 Jan 2022 17:34:34
I have a hard time believing a decent manager (who just happens to be unemployed at the moment through non fault of his own) would touch Everton with a 10 foot pole.

That being said, only Lampard has PL experience. And Big Sam is not returning phone calls.

We are not in a very strong position to be choosy.

Maybe the chalice is filled with Budweiser and not hemlock.

6.) 28 Jan 2022 17:59:17
Don't even joke about it Alwaysblue1969. Thought about putting yourself forward as Moshri's advisor.

7.) 28 Jan 2022 20:35:03
Just call me kia.

26 Jul 2021 19:18:38
I really hope these Phil Jones rumours are untrue.
Awful player, surely we are better than him.

paulybluenose

{Ed025's Note - so do i pauly mate..

1.) 26 Jul 2021 21:14:39
Gotta work with the financial situation we find are selves in. Wouldn’t be the worst deal in the world on a free imo.

2.) 26 Jul 2021 21:39:35
Sir Loin, honestly? He had a lot of potential but has never lived up to it. Championship player at best, I actually thought he'd retired years ago!

3.) 26 Jul 2021 23:32:45
Totally agree BP. He’s nowhere near as good as what we currently have - wouldn’t get in team ahead of Godfrey, Keane or Mina so makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

4.) 27 Jul 2021 00:19:46
Best days are gone, just because he is free does not mean we should take him. We still have to pay him you know and that won’t be cheap. Would rather have young Branthwaite as a squad player than him.

5.) 27 Jul 2021 07:30:28
I wouldn’t go so far as to say he’s a championship player. But he certainly isn’t good enough to improve our side.

{Ed025's Note - if his wage is the reported 100k per week ace it would be a travesty if we signed him imo mate..

6.) 27 Jul 2021 08:07:30
He’s bloody awful.

{Ed025's Note - your boosting him up there swinners mate..

7.) 27 Jul 2021 08:32:50
Happen to agree with Woburn, use Branthwaite. We won’t see anything other then free transfers and nominal fee’s until we can get some money in for Kean though. We may be in for a bit of a wait.

8.) 27 Jul 2021 08:42:30
Just can’t see it….

9.) 27 Jul 2021 08:56:57
Isn’t he paid something like £100k a week as well?
Those sort of wages would be better spent elsewhere.

10.) 27 Jul 2021 19:06:20
He’s a calamity on big wages who plays 2-3 times a season because he’s always injured.

07 Aug 2018 22:19:22
Any news on Mina and Bernard, it's gone pretty quiet!

paulybluenose

{Ed025's Note - bernard is expected to sign tomorrow pauly which i hope we can secure before the sharks come swarming, mina could be ours but it will depend on uniteds persuit of alderweireld mate, barca are hoping for a late bidding war..

1.) 07 Aug 2018 22:49:09
Thank you Ed, being a blue is never easy but I guess that's why we love them :)

{Ed025's Note - its an act of contrition mate i swear.. :)

A friend of my dad is a chauffeur and he drove Martin O'Neil to goodison earlier today.
Doesn't mean he is the manager but he has met club officials. Personally, I really hope not as I don't rate or like him.

paulybluenose

1.) 25 Nov 2017 20:17:09
A friend of mine says that O'Neil and Keane were at Goodison today and they are the best thing since sliced bread as far as Evertonians are concerned. Seriously, are we really saying that the Club are so out of touch with their fanbase that they would engage a man that 99.9 percent do not want.

2.) 25 Nov 2017 20:45:15
99.9% against O'Neil that's such a high number Ducky.

I for one do not in any way feel you have made up that number for effect, I feel you are much more dignified and proud to just pluck numbers out of the air. But there will be people out there who doubt your figures so let's make them eat their words ( or even thoughts ) and you tell them the source of this valuable information.

3.) 25 Nov 2017 21:24:27
Grumpy! Ha Ha! Read the posts, listen to Keane. Can you honestly imagine!

4.) 26 Nov 2017 12:38:26
trust in moshri.

5.) 26 Nov 2017 19:08:49
Roy Keane could give these so called professional players a lesson or 2 and even make them scared because at the moment there is no respect on or off the pitch judging by results and performances. Martin O Neill is not who I would have wanted but after today and the last few weeks tbh he can't be any worse that the structure we have in place now. Unsworth hasn't got the players respect and the body language is that they feel they don't need to give him it as he ain't going to be around for long, that's the boards bit Unsworth is carrying the can, so argue against O' Neill, Allardyce for gods sake even Pulis, but ask yourself, if not hiring one of these and keeping the current setup is your choice, then expect away trips Bristol next season.

6.) 26 Nov 2017 20:39:10
Good post Bluegray mate. Keane would be a manager that would get the players to start respecting the club and he won't be scared to throw out dead wood. Good shout.

7.) 26 Nov 2017 23:44:54
How long would it be before Keane and Dunc had a full on scrap on the touch line though haha.

10 Jul 2017 10:44:37
I got told awhile ago that lukaku and Ross barkley will go to man utd and posted it on here.
I thought big Rom going to utd was rubish but I was wrong, now it makes sense if Ross goes because he obviously has a move lined up hence his stance and behaviour. Jose wouldn't pursue both of them at the same time but now lukaku is done he can move onto Ross barkley.
I hope Ross stays and learns of rooney but if he was he would of signed a new contract.

paulybluenose

1.) 10 Jul 2017 18:07:01
from what i understand lukaku was tapped up by pogba probs at the request of utd cause they are friends barkley has been tapped up by kane because they are friends probs at the request of spurs i don't see why utd would want barkley they have better quicker players and full regular internationals in the positions that barkley would want but then again he seems to be going to spurs to be a bench warmer because they're first eleven are better than him so anything could happen. his agent has done a disservice to him and i for one cannot understand why he would go to a team where it is obvious he will be a squad player and get less money unless you remember his agent gets a wedge if he moves i predict barkley will not be in englands team for the next world cup unless there are injuries to key players.

I can only think Dyche went to a back 5 to ensure Keane played. Virtually all of our success has come with a back 4 without Keane playing, so why does see fit to play him.
Once again an Everton manager sees the need to change a winning formation and play players that the supporters can clearly see are poor. Really is frustrating!

paulybluenose

1.) 31 Dec 2023 10:20:50
Think it was more the injuries to central midfielders. Gomes only just back and fit. I’d rather. He’d played Danjuma behind Dom and kept a back 4.

2.) 31 Dec 2023 13:52:33
Would rather have had Godfrey in there than Keane to be honest. Played Bolton pre-season and Keane was God awful.

28 Aug 2022 09:55:57
Like most blues, I want Frank to succeed but the players don't look comfortable with the current style of play, They are not free flowing. One of hardest think for a person to do is admit they are wrong or see its not working.
A back four is a must!

paulybluenose

1.) 28 Aug 2022 10:47:58
I don’t think the formation is the problem myself, the last time we played 4 at the back we got smashed by Minnesota. In fact if you look at our recent performances with 4 at the back they’ve been horrendous. I personally think it’s the case of not having a striker on the pitch.

2.) 28 Aug 2022 10:59:17
I am conflicted on this point as for me if you are playing x5 at the back then the wing backs of got to be able to get up and down the pitch with a bit of pace. I am not adverse to paying the 5 but when DCL is back that leaves x4 other players starting…. that’s why I become more confused. Who do you think the other x4 are folks….

3.) 28 Aug 2022 11:22:47
really hope that the defence starts working as a team. they have been all over the place since the start of the season.

4.) 28 Aug 2022 11:50:57
Gordon
Doucoure
Onana
Iwobi
I’m probably in the minority here but I’d start Vinega at left back as well as I think he offers more going forward. Maybe a little hp sauce and some salt and pepper up top to help out too.

5.) 28 Aug 2022 12:07:41
Understand the Vinagre shout DPP, do you would drop Gray yeah!

6.) 28 Aug 2022 12:15:59
Totally with you on vinegre. He'll be starting games soon ahead of Miko. Going forward he's head and shoulders about him.

7.) 28 Aug 2022 12:23:17
My big issue with whatever formation we play is it doesn't matter as we don't have any decent creative players.
Iwobi/ Onana look solid and promising together but neither is the creative solution.

As mentioned above our wing backs aren't creative enough. I think Patterson could be given time but Mykolenko is more a support full back that can join in attacks than an out and out wingback.

Mcneil does not suit a 5 at the back system, really worry that short of a 4 4 2 he may be largely redundant as he offers very little coming inside.

Grey/ Gordon cause defenses problems but don't create good chances.

I've said it before, our most creative players over the last few years have been Siggy, Digne, Richy and James and they have all gone and none have been replaced.

8.) 28 Aug 2022 12:39:42
Mykolenko is a very good defender so I think against certain teams, IE, the ones clearly better than us, he should play. Against teams we are looking to attack, Vinagre would be a better option with Gueye or whoever covering him,

Mykolenko as a left sided centre back is mouthwatering.

9.) 28 Aug 2022 12:58:41
I got Gordon being sold in the last hour Thursday night tbh Blu1 for a lot, I might be wrong but that sounds like something we’d do. So it’d be Gray in for Gordon, if not then it’s nice to have some strength in depth and to play either or. There would still be game time for both players as well being our starting eleven are never seem to be fully fit or someone being injured etc.

10.) 28 Aug 2022 15:41:15
I've just watched nkonku for Cardiff. Far better than myko. He's ideal for the wing back role. don't know what goes on at this club anymore ?.

11.) 28 Aug 2022 17:56:59
Mykolenko is good but he is not a wing back.

12.) 29 Aug 2022 09:11:50
Swan I was saying the same thing about Miko. I think there's a great LCB in him. He's excellent in the air but he's one tough cookie as well. Vinegre is clearly a more suitable LWB.

26 Aug 2022 19:47:38
So, still no striker tomorrow. should be fun!
I hope Frank is still given time.

paulybluenose

1.) 26 Aug 2022 20:03:55
The predictions don't look good and Brentford very strong at home. I would say it is essential we get something out of the game tomorrow. Chelsea and Derby pattern developing.

{Ed025's Note - not essential DFS but it would certainly be welcome mate..

2.) 26 Aug 2022 20:27:52
How can you compare what happened at Chelsea to what Lampard is doing with us? Chelsea where in the top 4 and fell out of it, we've been nowhere near the top 4. Some people will come up with anything to have a pop. Sad really.

3.) 26 Aug 2022 20:55:20
We have a striker! Wrongdong.

4.) 26 Aug 2022 21:00:21
Just the usual rubbish Reg mate always negativity.

5.) 26 Aug 2022 21:01:56
I fancy us for all 3 points tomorrow!
COYB!

6.) 26 Aug 2022 21:11:01
Big reg the pattern is initial boost followed by relative loss of momentum. It is what it is, he seems to be gathering a good young Team around him, hopefully we can move forward. Big Reg eh!

13 Aug 2022 18:32:05
I can't believe we are saying the same thing again as last year. Tom Davis is NOT good enough. He's just to reckless in the tackle, sloppy, slow and offers nothing.

paulybluenose

1.) 13 Aug 2022 18:37:12
Cos we were winning when he came in yes?

2.) 13 Aug 2022 18:41:01
I thought he was good. Much better than Doucoure was today.

3.) 13 Aug 2022 18:42:56
just what did he do wrong as from what i saw and read on social media the general feeling is Tom did well today. I do wish some fans would take the i hate Davies specs off and be honest with how he played.

4.) 13 Aug 2022 19:07:04
I agree. Davies did well today considering he's returning from inury.

5.) 13 Aug 2022 19:32:36
I'm not his biggest fan but I think he did well today especially coming off the bench.

6.) 13 Aug 2022 19:45:32
Doucoure needs a holding DM so he can play his natural game. We can only guess what goes on in training but they are not bringing it to the game day. What is Cole doing having one to one coaching with Gordon! I thought he - Cole - was the defensive coach.

17 Mar 2022 19:12:46
Just seen tonight's team. WOW, we are in big trouble. the team just screams square pegs in round holes and zero pace.

paulybluenose

{Ed0666's Note - at least wait till half time till you kick off before you start moaning mate

1.) 17 Mar 2022 20:16:41
Ed its the same players week in and week out, every Evertonian preys, hopes we are proven wrong each game.
Unfortunately we are not, hence our predicament. A win is essential, no excuses.

{Ed0666's Note - No fear Deli to the rescue!!!!

Won't be a striker signed. massive mistake, only DCL who will take 3 - 4 weeks to get backnupyo speed. Maupay isn't a natural goalscorer.
Expect a lot of draws.

Have to agree, I feel with our current squad a top 10 place is going to be beyond us.
Injuries and suspensions will take affect. Our squad against Huddersfield proved its too weak. We need at least 3 players but can't see it, only Rondon really 😕.

To be honest, I've not seen him play. which I suppose says a lot really.
Right age but if he replaces Iwobi, then I don't care how good he is, he can't be any worse.
