SSN reporting PSG bid 21.5m for Gueye player keen to go personally I don't blame him!

1.) 27 Jan 2019 21:13:22
If the offer was right I would sell if the player wants to go. Seems to low an offer though. Maybe with his age and give us a chance to bring a new midfielder in. A new face may give everyone a lift. I like Gueye and he maybe a player you can get a few years out of like Fernandinho at 34. He’s not a leader though and maybe his replacement might and the balance in midfield could improve. Someone like Doucoure would be advantageous at defending set pieces.

2.) 27 Jan 2019 23:05:35
He’s 29 so £21m is a rubbish offer on market value he is in his prime now.

3.) 27 Jan 2019 23:30:59
Would you bring in a new midfielder now if Gueye went?
Goals is an area to be addressed so I’d move on a striker as we do have Jimmy Mc, Davies and Beni who could step up.

4.) 28 Jan 2019 08:06:17
I can see the logic Southern the problem I can see what striker? Nobody stands out and as we all know January’s not the best time. We don’t want to go out and buy a £20m striker and be same as Tosun. We need top striker and need to pay £60/ 70m. That type of player won’t be available until the summer then we need to convince them we are going somewhere! Easier said than done at the moment.

5.) 28 Jan 2019 11:46:55
Couldn't agree more STB, something I've said before. Posters on here have been crying out for the '20 goals a season man' for a long time. As if such a thing is common everywhere.

Personally I still think our biggest issue is not enough goals/ support from elsewhere.

Bernard, Walcott and to a lesser extent Gomes/ Lookman need to be creating more problems for defenses. With the exception of Richarlison we play like our only plan is to get the ball in the box to a striker. This means defenders can focus on stifling whoever that is, and until the support players get more involved and pose some questions that won't change, no matter who is up front.

Whether that is down to the players or Silva is the question!

6.) 28 Jan 2019 19:28:38
Connor Wickham is back and fit lol.

01 Feb 2018 08:19:01
interesting rumour doing the rounds, According to Calcio Mercato, Everton snubbed a swap proposal from Inter Milan on deadline day, which involved Morgan Schneiderlin and Marcelo Brozovic.

1.) 01 Feb 2018 08:49:51
I'd have taken that all day long.

2.) 01 Feb 2018 15:49:21

3.) 01 Feb 2018 20:14:41
Unless he's the Croatian Schneiderlin.

30 Nov 2017 11:56:01
Find it hard to take some posters snide comments on here although I understand it's a banter site.
Firstly it appears Big Sam is our new permanent manager, that if it true is done!
Hopefully he's the right man to turn our season, however it won't happen overnight.
Let's hope in January Walsh does what he's paid to do and brings some quality fresh talent into the squad!

We had little options available and they've turned to a specialist in reversing our current position.
He has spoken respectfully of the club and it's history and supporters I for one will be right behind him as he is our hope, I understand many peoples resentment and he like many has made a mistake but we all deserve a second chance, it was very costly for him!

We need a win tonight to lift everyone at this great club!

1.) 30 Nov 2017 12:20:50
Good shout mate, we have to live and let live, just get so fed up with some of these snide posts on here mate same as you, i will get behind whoever wants to help our Great Club, end of.

2.) 01 Dec 2017 18:54:32
In my opinion he no more made a mistake than many of us would. If someone approached me while under contract it does not necessarily mean I would not listen to them as indeed he did. Also I would point out I could perhaps be interested in the future but that I and you would have to discuss with my present employers again which is exactly what Sam did and said. It is only the hysteria perpetuated by the media in this Country that fans the fire.

20 Jul 2017 17:56:10
We were linked with Rachid Ghezzal in January I believe he is now a free agent, anyone know if we still have an interest in him?

{Ed002's Note - He has made it clear he has no interest in moving to Everton.}

1.) 20 Jul 2017 19:21:22
Reports today Rachid Ghezzal is in talks with Watford.

2.) 20 Jul 2017 19:49:09
He must really dislike Everton if he's interested in Watford rather than us. Good old rumours eh 🤣.

3.) 21 Jul 2017 10:09:25
Contradicts what he said last year then, I remember reading a report that he wanted to join a team playing in Europe, I am sure Watford aren't in Europe!

15 May 2017 15:45:42
Has anyone else seen the leaked pic of the supposed kit with Sportpesa logo?
I do hope its a red herring and not the actual shirt, it looks a training kit!

{Ed007's Note - efckit

1.) 15 May 2017 16:20:30
seen that it's definitely the training kit.

2.) 15 May 2017 16:21:22
Looks more like a training type shirt that.

3.) 15 May 2017 16:34:09
yes strange because the teaser on the website looks to be a lighter blue.

4.) 15 May 2017 17:43:31
To me it looks like the training top for next year guess we will find out tommorrow for sure.

I have said for a while now we are going down, supported Everton since the sixties and seen good times and bad, but never have I seen a side so lacking leadership, heart of any fight whatsoever!
Without playing the blame game, you surely have to point the finger to years of poor management and a structure of the first team.
Look at a majority of our players and they have been signed from relegated clubs, therefore they do not have that winning mentality top clubs have!
To many poorly identified players not brought to fill a position but because they were available, the RB position has been identified as one that needs strengthening for the last 4 years and yet we have to play Kenny who we have desperately tried to get rid of last few years!
If or when we go down then this club needs rebuilding again but with a plan!

{Ed025's Note - I have a plan wakka …get rid of the lot of them from top to bottom and build a new club with an identity even if it takes a few years. I may not be around to see it mate..

1.) 07 Apr 2022 09:06:36
Ed025 Even when Moyes was here he built around defence and then strengthened when necessary with out the budget of his successors!
HK must be turning in his grave!
Are we the only club that cannot manage its finances? and to think Everton FC was known as the bank of England in the seventies!

{Ed025's Note - since Moshiri came in things have gone downhill wakka. It’s not all his fault of course but his advisors have a lot to answer for imo mate..

2.) 07 Apr 2022 09:12:34
It won't happen ED. What happened to this fabled review of the club requested by Moshiri. Apart from appointing Graham Sharp as a NON Executive director - Nothing.

{Ed025's Note - sadly you are probably right be..

3.) 07 Apr 2022 10:09:11
Couldn't agree more with the above comments. We have needed leadership in the team for years. We are the laughing stock of the prem at the moment. Delph has cost the club over £500.0000 per game since he came to us. Tosun also costing the club a fortune. That's why he will not leave! Look at the players we have bought that have been a complete waste of money. Gbamin
Moshiri and Brands at fault for the mess we are in .
Love us to stay up but have to admit i'ts not looking good.

{Ed025's Note - not looking good is the understatement of the year Waterloo. We are? mate..

4.) 07 Apr 2022 10:36:55
The only hope we had was there were three teams worse than us sadly I think last night proved that is not true!

10 Feb 2022 09:26:13
In football you never take anything for granted but to see this great club closing in on relegation is not disappointing but infuriating!
Given our financial situation we should never have been in this position, but I believe poor leadership at the top has seen us stumble blindly into this predicament!
Defensively we have seen and highlighted the issues yet have failed to resolve them, RB Coleman aging ang although you see his heart is there his legs aren't, Keane has just got worse and Mina constant injuries, and Holgate! say no more.
So what will transpire as we near the end this season on a downward spiral, who can step up? They said there were 3 teams always worse however I am struggling to see that, we are constantly losing to teams below us that seem to have more fight!
Most of us remember that day we beat Wimbledon to stay up, we had warriors on the pitch that day what have we got now?

1.) 10 Feb 2022 10:49:00
Remember that day wakka mate when we beat Wimbledon what a game, as for our present demeanour not looking good especially with Ben and Yerry out for a while, Frank will certainly do extremely well to keep us up, I think he will do it mate.

2.) 10 Feb 2022 11:36:25
On present form we are in deep doodoo but that can change in an instant. We need to get our confidence back and we have the players that can become our next heroes

Ricky - might look miserable all game but works his socks off every game
DCL - out injured for too long but back soon and can get us the goals
Gray and Townsend - 2 (I didn't think I would say this when they were bought) inspired signings
Gordon - our scouser who puts his heart (and a lot of skill) on the line every game
Deli and DVB just joined us with points to prove
Pickford - turning out to be one of our leaders
Allan and Doucoure - get them fit and they can be our engine room
Patterson and Myky - out to prove why we bought them
Coleman - will run through walls (maybe a bit slower now) for Everton

We have the players, we have the supporters. We need the confidence. Let's do our part and roar then on Saturday.

3.) 10 Feb 2022 12:10:11
Can’t do anymore than that bw mate, just hope it happens.

4.) 10 Feb 2022 14:06:47
We need to remember we are not to big a club to go down.
Current form we’re right in the mix with relegation.
As posters have said there are very few players who are standing up and being counted when it matters.
Teams below and around us are showing more fight and desire than our team is.
I hope we improve and it’s early days for frank so hopefully will do.

However our defence is atrocious. Major issue there is no leader there, all too passive.

Coleman - great servant but not up to this level for 90 minutes anymore - why haven’t we seen Patterson yet?

Mina - best defender but made of glass and was terrible before injured against Newcastle.

Holgate - Jekyll and Hyde always gets booked, has ability as showed against Brentford but too inconsistent

Godfrey - brilliant and could be excellent, finally showing signs improving since the Rona, however now injured.

Keane - regressing and can’t say anything positive about him, what’s happened to him?

Mykolenko - needs time to bed in but could be great.

Branthwaite- looked a little lost against Newcastle but not surprising in that defence. Conversely was immense against Chelsea.

Hopefully Frank goes with Patterson, branthwaite, Godfrey when fit and Mykolenko going forward.

These are the players we need in the team all young and can develop together.

5.) 10 Feb 2022 14:46:18
Controversial but I'd go with a back 4 of mykolenko Branthwaite gbamin Patterson. Allan donny in front of them. Richarlison alli Gordon with dcl up front.

6.) 10 Feb 2022 16:03:20
Gbamin has done nothing to suggest he would make a good centre back. Can’t imagine he would want to make a tackle given his injury history.

7.) 10 Feb 2022 16:22:11
I'd have Gbamin right back. In the stands ?.

8.) 10 Feb 2022 16:33:42
Woburn on current form Michael Keane has done nothing to suggest he’d make a good centre back, also he has no injury record and still doesn’t make a tackle.

Would try gbamin over him - surely couldn’t be any worse?

9.) 10 Feb 2022 16:59:23
Good point Gingerdan mate worth a try.

10.) 10 Feb 2022 17:49:24
Not too big to go down perhaps, but I believe we have the ability to stay up. Assuming our horrendous fortune with injuries doesn’t continue. I’m not concerned, yet.

11.) 10 Feb 2022 17:59:28
Keane has been poor for a while. He needs to know he's not a guaranteed starter. Some time on the bench may do him good.

Gbamin to be fair has had horrendous luck with injuries. He's not going to get any game time in midfield. He may just want to play and i may be wrong but wasnt he a defender before we signed him. Only my opinion but I can't think of anyone else to try.

12.) 10 Feb 2022 18:33:27
I have a colleague from Germany when we signed Gbamin he raved about Gbamin and said he looked as good at CB as in midfield
Unfortunately we’ve not really seen him enough in either role to pass judgement but could be an option.

13.) 10 Feb 2022 18:46:02
If we go down we go down, so long as we go down fighting! unfortunately for us we normally have relegation form in the second period of the season, check Ancelotti performance! But I think we will start to climb the table shortly as too many now have points to prove, i have a feeling something will tigger us to just click into place, my be one change then we will be a way up the table. I personally don’t think it’s time to start analysing every player! Giving them marks out of 10 What good does this do! We all know how each and every player how they performed! We don’t need this negativity now. Let’s get behind them, maybe we could do are bit by making the players feel better, if so happens they read the comments on this forum!

{Ed0666's Note - if you go down does Lampard deserve the sack?

14.) 10 Feb 2022 18:50:45
So we’re in a relegation struggle and you think playing a midfielder-if that what he is- play in defence? None of you have really seen play, so he might actually not be any good. But hey let’s play him anyway.
Good grief I give up.

15.) 10 Feb 2022 19:02:17
And that back line up idea is likely why you're not a professional football manager.

16.) 10 Feb 2022 19:58:36
I am just saying it could be an option, only as I know from my colleague who supports Mainz said he played CB as well as DM and CM, so yes there is an option there
And to expand I would say the option would be more realistic if we continue to look at 3 at the back RCB of a back 3
He’s played the role before and they are transferable skills
This is all just chewing the fat with some fellow blues and a bit of banter
End of the day what we say counts for diddly and it’s Frank and his coaches that will need to make the tough calls.

17.) 10 Feb 2022 20:03:09
Before we all bow to your superior knowledge Woburn you may want to check info on gbamin out as he’s a defensive midfielder who can also play at centreback or rightback.
None of us have seen much of him, however plenty of us have seen enough of Keane to realise he’s struggling.
If gbamin fit can’t see any harm in trying him as centreback as continuing with Keane on his current form seems madness.

18.) 10 Feb 2022 20:16:33
Well we've tried Holgate, Keane all season and it hasn't worked. Mina and Godfrey are both out. Gbamin was highly rated cb before we signed him. If he's no good what other options are there.

Brownshoes I've never said I'm a professional football manager so f**k knows what your on about.

19.) 10 Feb 2022 20:55:45
CB in the French league. Highly rated? By who?
The bloke can’t even get in our crappy midfield .
Tell you what DCL is good in the air and good at corners, let’s play him there.
We tried playing a winger at full back and look how that turned out. You put Gbamin in defence and he has a bad game and the poor lad will get slaughtered. That would do is already brittle confidence the world of good I’m sure.

20.) 10 Feb 2022 20:22:04
Ed0666 in short no, he doesn't. 19 points from 20 games and Team in reverse. Frank needs 19 points from 17 games and those around us to slow down. Not looking good. Who is to blame? I say Rafa. I really wanted the bloke, thinking he was the Rafa of old but alas no. It is not to strong to say he did a job on us.

{Ed0666's Note - I disagree on both fronts. The reasons for my advocacy of Rafas time at Everton are well known but if you go down Lampard needs sacking because he had enough games, time and points to keep you up.

21.) 10 Feb 2022 20:55:50
Hands up those of us who are professional managers, Ed 666 don't even think about it ? ?.

{Ed0666's Note - You cheeky monkey ?

22.) 11 Feb 2022 07:40:02
Assuming they are all fit would you want to leave any of Ricky, DCL, Gray and Gordon out of your starting 11? I wouldn’t and I don’t consider any of them as wing backs so I’m thinking that it has to be 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 with Allan and Donny making up the other 2 in midfield
That leaves the 4 at the back
Right back is a tough one for me. I understand Coleman has lost a bit of pace but I would probably start with him as Patterson has never been tried at this level so it would be a tough baptism for him
Left back has to be Mykolenko as he’s our only recognised left back (although Holgate and Brathwaite might also be considered) . Again, though he is a novice in the Premier league and will need constant talking to on what positions to take
With that in mind I’m going for Kean and Holgate in the centre. They both have issues with their confidence and rashness sometimes but they are both talkers and hopefully will respond to the challenge presented. Some people have mentioned Gbamin at CB. Unless Frank has tried him there in training and is happy he can do the job I wouldn’t take the risk
Whatever the formation, whatever the team let’s just get behind every single one of them. They need our help and support more than ever.

23.) 11 Feb 2022 12:42:00
I think we need to see Patterson - whilst not been tested at premier league level, he is a full Scottish international and has played well for rangers. Not sure we can wait for the “right” game for him.

Leeds are a fast team and will look to exploit Coleman who has lost his speed. If they play balls in behind him he’ll struggle and will probably get booked for a clumsy challenge.

24.) 11 Feb 2022 13:57:17
Of course we need to see Patterson Dan but in an ideal world I'd prefer starting with Seamus and bringing him on second half when we're 2-0 up or, god forbid, we need to go for the game. I think Patterson could be a better impact player coming on than Seamus but, at the end of the day it will be Frank's decision and I'm thankful it is his rather than ours.

25.) 11 Feb 2022 14:01:12
Dan ??? agree. We need players for now, not tomorrow. As tomorrow it might be too late.

26.) 12 Feb 2022 09:36:29
Dan/ Woburn

We need THE RIGHT players for now, not tomorrow. As tomorrow it might be too late.

Who they are will be down to Frank.

27.) 12 Feb 2022 11:16:27
There is no way Frank will experiment with an un-used unproven injury prone Midfielder into vital position of a central back, if he does then I would be shocked
Don’t forget we have Ryan Ashley that will be on standby, a top top prospect in the back four positions
Good luck to Everton Today, I am confident we will get 3 points.

28.) 12 Feb 2022 11:21:42
Gingerdan. What do you mean by “what’s happened to him” in regards to Michael Keane?

25 Jan 2022 08:56:55
Now I am a Dunc lover as a past player and he is without doubt a true blue!
However, he has been a a part of the coaching staff now for quite a few managers, is his role dictated by the board to preserve his continued employment within the Everton family? have these managers been told he is part of the set up and they must accept it? how have other managers with their own preferred backroom staff felt about this.
His demeaner certainly under Rafa did not look a happy one, and you wonder what input he really has in his role?
Certainly many would not have picked the team he did! He really needs to get a role at lower level and gain some much needed experience to certainly succeed in the Premier level, many will question his tactical abilities.
Still let's hope he can turn things around in the time he has left in charge.

1.) 25 Jan 2022 09:08:18
i was absolutely baffled that he went with a 442 after the last few games. and the decision to play kenny was also very questionable.

2.) 25 Jan 2022 09:20:19
Problem is we are a bottom five club - people aren’t happy with names put forward - Rooney, lampard, Ferguson, Paraeria, Bobby etc

I though koeman would have been a good fit for us - seemed the best manager. I never really thought Bobby, Silva, Fat Sam an Benitez were a good appointment.

Carlo was ok but no way he was hanging around once Madrid came in and who can blame him

I honestly think Bielsa could be tempted - gets team playing 110% which is what we have been crying out for.
Plus he would in time have more money to spend - probably a bigger salary too

I think Allan, DCL, Decore, - even Tom would play better under him - he might even get a tune out of Iwobi - (joke)

I know it’s pie in the sky but he would be my pick. I think I’d go Rooney after that - think he’s done better at derby than lampard did given the circumstances.

3.) 25 Jan 2022 10:54:10
Watford interested in rooney.

4.) 25 Jan 2022 13:05:26
You know Sobs, I am going to get hammered but the person missing from that midfield Decoure, Alan, is Guess.

5.) 25 Jan 2022 13:06:38
Watford the Roonies would love it down there.

6.) 25 Jan 2022 14:12:21
Why on earth would Bielsa leave a squad he’s built, halfway through a season, to join one of the laziest teams in the league, which also just happens to be the worst run club in the league.

7.) 25 Jan 2022 14:15:07
Barkley? Sigs would have done a job but obviously can’t play

You would have hope we could have said delph, Gomes, Gbamin, or klasson given we have spen over 100million on them.

8.) 25 Jan 2022 15:02:58
Swan not a chance are Watford run worse than us pal ??.

9.) 25 Jan 2022 15:18:12
My only worry with Rooney Sobs is with him being back in the city and going astray again, last time as a player he severely let the club down!

22 Jan 2022 20:44:13
Harsh reality is we have battled relegation many times in the 90's 00's and escaped however we had the players to do it unfortunately this group have no real bollox for a fight!

1.) 22 Jan 2022 21:04:27
Prepare for the championship next season. If fans thought Mike Ashley was bad, Moshiri's legacy will be worse, destroying our beloved, special old club. A club where for 144 years generations have spent much of thier lives supporting Everton FC at our beautiful and unique Goodison Park stadium. Moshiri's money has brought many ills to our door.

15 Jan 2022 19:06:37
I'm of an age that can remember how close Kendall was before turning things around after a league cup game at Oxford, different times and squad depths but I have to few that Rafa is nailing his own coffin shut with his persistent playing Rondon which does not work he looks an overweight league 2 player!
If Richy was fit for the bench he could have started! Massive game blown today that has clearly seated us in a relegation battle! Frightening because we need the Dogs of War but have a pack of whimpering pups!
Massive decision needed by the board now!
It's close to the worse season in the club's history!

1.) 15 Jan 2022 19:54:34
Agree wakka but we do score goals, the defence is atrocious though and we don't keep them out. Keane holgate both horrendous. Central midfield is crap as well. Rafa has done no favours in his persistence of rondon. Also what was the point in signing Patterson if he isn't going to play him
Had we kept Brighton out and norwich today we would be 6 points up the table.
Everytime efc have a chance to capitalise and pick up points they chuck it down the toilet. Absolutely spineless.

2.) 15 Jan 2022 20:00:45
Please tell the last match we played under Benitez that we started on the front foot. He is supposed to be coaching the team, the defending under him has been diabolical. He can't keep making excuses because no Mina.

If he is still manager next week I expect Digne to score the winner.

What ever happened to Nil Satis Nisi Optimum, if he stays it's more like No Sacking No Ope!

3.) 15 Jan 2022 20:05:19
Spot on Wakka.

4.) 15 Jan 2022 20:45:38
Is that Latin for "no hope and no opitmisim" or "no hope and moshiri needs to go the opticians"

I didn't do Latin at school?!

Ed025 I have to agree with you on this one, he is not tall enough for CB and lacks that extra leap smaller CB's have, he was lucky he was a solid defender and adapted to the full back role better, he got England call ups but was only really ever back up, since his injury he has lacked confidence whether he can get that back well time tells but it will run out soon!
I do fear that Tarkowski is the next Keane or Godfrey, Everton signing players from relegated clubs!

{Ed025's Note - I just think evertonians make too many excuses for our underperforming players wakka. We cite injury, covid, confidence and any other thing we can think of to account for poor form. How about the real reasons? …overpaid, lazy, can’t be arsed and mollycoddled? Other clubs don’t accept it so why should we mate..

sa90 surely we have squandered the money by paying overinflated prices and ridiculous wages to average players over the last few years, this is why we can no longer afford them.
Mina is our best CB but constantly injured, Holgate is not up to it and Godfrey only developed as a stand in right back but I do not see him challenging as a CB.
Look at Tomori that went to Milan from Chelsea he was less money than Mina I believe young and developing.

Money aside is Tarkowski any better than what we already have? surely not another bargain basement signing from a relegated side!
Surely we need to look for players that have experience the other end of the league with a winning mentality!

Yes definitely! Lampard is not to blame for our current predicament he has experience in the championship if that's where we end up.

With parachute payments we would need to get back up in the first or second season realistically!
The squad will of course change and I'm sure we will lose the best of the bunch, although I would hate to see Gordon go he has flourished since Lamps took over.
However it may provide a platform for more of our youngsters to take a step up.
Players like Rondon may just be ideal in the championship!

Not sure selling the crown jewels will help! then buy two players from a struggling Burnley, isn't that what we did with Keane? Cantwell not getting games in another relegation side! Lacazette well past his best free doesn't mean good!
I really cannot see this has any real progression for the club we need good developing youngsters! some class that will help others around them!
