Summary of what we have on Everton right now:

{Ed002's Note - Goalkeeper:

Alex McCarthy will likely leave Reading in the summer with Everton a possible destination. If Newcastle were to lose Krul, they may well also be interested.}

Defence:

Tentative enquiries have been made about Ryan Bertrand by both Everton and Liverpool since the season began. No approach has yet been made to Chelsea. His agents are, I think, looking to get him in to a first team somewhere. There was a suggestion that Chelsea would ask him if he would like to be offered as part of a deal to Southampton.}

Feyenoord's Bruno Martins Indi is subject to interest from Roma, Milan, Dynamo Kyiv and Everton.

Midfield:

Anderson may well be available in January and, assuming he is not over priced, will have several option to choose from - but I doubt Benfica will be one. Everton, Juventus, CSKA Moscow and Gremio have some level of declared interest.
Fernando has recently become a Portuguese citizen and is desperately looking to force his way in to the national side in time for the World Cup – although ironically it could be either the Portuguese or Brazilian sides. Whilst his European passport eases a move to Italy where Inter and Fiorentina remain keen, the signing on fee asked of Fiorentina has come as a real shock to them. A number of other clubs have declared an interest and certainly Everton is one but I really don't know of confirmed interest from Liverpool - but it would make some sense. Porto would like to keep him if a deal can be agreed - and that might be back on the table now his citizenship has been confirmed.

Will Hughes is attracting interest from several clubs including Liverpool, Everton and Fulham. Derby has priced him at a level which will make a transfer very expensive for the buying club.

M'Vila is of interest to Napoli and Everton. The previous interest of Fenerbahce seems to have waned.

Borussia Monchengladbach got as far as negotiating a deal for Stocker in the summer but they were unable to reach agreement. Enquiries were also made over the summer by Everton, Hamburg, and Werder Bremen but none put an offer on the table. Schalke are the club looking to a deal in January but I would not discount Borussia Monchengladbach coming back in to the picture.}

Forwards:

Someone associated with Arsenal tells me there is indeed interest from the club Michy Batshuayi - but I suspect is would be one for the future for them. Additionally, Anderlecht have declared that they would consider resigning the player, and both Everton and Lille have watched him recently.

Gerard Deulofeu – it is not out of the question that he could join Everton permanently, but right now I would not hold your breath.

Finnbogason has attracted recent interest from Celtic, Everton, Roma, West Ham, Newcastle and Cardiff and there is still a chance that Fulham may also look to him. Like Sunderland, Hannover and Mainz before them, West Ham has turned their attentions elsewhere for the time being. If he is available in the summer I could see a push from Everton.

Xhaka moved to Borussia Mönchengladbach last year although there was interest over the summer from Inter, and Lazio had two offers rejected. Roberto Martinez looked at him as Wigan Manager last year and may well still be interested now he is at Everton. I would not discount both Inter and Milan looking to him at some point and think a move to Everton is unlikely.

Outgoing:

Jelavic will certainly leave. I think it unlikely Baines will go which will probably end interest in Bertrand – at least for the time being.

Outside Chance:

If Zaha becomes available on loan and the Gareth Barry loan could be made permanent, I would not be surprised to see Everton look to Zaha.

Loan for Next Season:

There is a proposal that has yet to be put to Everton that Chelsea may have another talented player that could be placed on loan next season.

Overall:

Very hard to call if there will be any more than some fine tuning in January – maybe one out and two in. In the summer, I think there is a good chance of Alex McCarthy and a couple of others. The club are very wary of the home grown quota being a potential issue, so don’t be surprised to see an English player or two arrive.

4.) 29 Dec 2013
Thanks Ed002. Much appreciated. M'Vila and Finbogasson would be great for January. We could afford to lose Jelavic (and a buy one get one free - Naismith) and Heitinga then. Two potential starters in, 2/3squad players out would be nice.

Im convinced the Chelsea loanee you are on about is De Bruyne OR Moses. Not sure which though

{Ed002's Note - No, De Bruyne will almost certainly be gone in January - perhaps initially on loan. Moses will be gone in the summer.}

Thanks, ed! I remember there were a lot of talks about Dundee's youngsters Robertson, Souttar and Gauld (but I don't think they will move before the summer, at least), and Wycombe's Cortney Hause aswell

{Ed039's Note - Dundee United not Dundee)
